Development of Prediction Model for Churn Agents -Comparing Prediction Accuracy Between Pattern Model and Matrix Model- (대리점 이탈예측모델 개발 - 동적모델(Pattern Model)과 정적모델(Matrix Model)의 예측적중률 비교 -)

  • Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to develop a model for predicting agent churn group in the cosmetics industry. We develope two models, pattern model and matrix model, which are compared regarding the prediction accuracy of churn agents. Finally, we try to conclude if there is statistically significant difference between two models by empirical study. Methods: We develop two models using the part of RFM(Recency, Frequency, Monetary) method which is one of customer segmentation method in traditional CRM study. In order to ensure which model can predict churn agents more precisely between two models, we used CRM data of cosmetics company A in China. Results: Pattern model and matrix model have been developed. we find out that there is statistically significant differences between two models regarding the prediction accuracy. Conclusion: Pattern model and matrix model predict churn agents. Although pattern model employed the trend of monetary mount for six months, matrix model that used the amount of sales per month and the duration of the employment is better than pattern model in prediction accuracy.

  • Urbanization created by modernization and industrialization has brought tremendous growth of hotel demand with city ' development such as population’s centralization, living environment changes, consumption emphasis, and internationalization. Moreover, the hotel industry has been developed in two ways. First, it has been diversified and popularized by hotel culture. Second, the hotel industry has been upgraded form focusing oh its specific targets. In the view of Hotel design, Hotel was shown as a social and cultural value. Customer can experience the space, not normal big sizes, but being new and reflecting trends regardless of any purposes or locations. The hotels that were resulted in development of American economy and construction since the 1980 had new design concepts. These hotels were one of the examples showing pluralism requiring on modern society. In the case of Korea, Korean Architect Company have built in copying or repacked western hotel without considering Korean local conditions. Korean company just tried to make large scales, high-story buildings, and chain hotels. Nevertheless, it is the current trend to understand the customer's sensitivity and viewpoint by introducing a new style of hotel management that requires variety and different characteristics of hotel design. Therefore, the purpose of this study presents a direction of the future hotel architecture by analyzing design characters of domestic and international hotels, by collecting various consumer's requests.

A Study on Actual Condition of Sizing System of Women′s RTW Apparel Brands in Korea (한국 여성복 브랜드의 치수 체계 실태에 관한 연구)

  • The manufacturer first identifies a target market before developing a sizing chart. A target market is specific for age or figure type. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the suitability of sizing system of women's apparel brand in Korea. For this purpose, the characteristics of the manufacture's sizing chart for jacket and skirt/pants were analyzed. For each brand, the target age of the brand and the age of consumers who preferred that bland were compared. The size charts collected from 27 women's apparel brands were analyzed and compared with Korean industrial standard sifting chart. The results of this study reviled that the body proportion in many manufacturer's sizing chart does not correspond to the body types in Korean industrial standard sizing chart. This trend was apparent for the short figure sizes made for women 155cm in height. There is a difference between the target age in brand concept and the age of consumer preferring to purchase that brand apparel. The age of fitting models usually does not correspond the customer's age. It was concluded that the age of target customer does not go well with the age of brand concept nor the fitting model age caused fit problem of the women's ready-made clothes.

Factors Affecting Subscribers' Switching between Providers within Mobile Number Portability System (이동전화 이용자의 번호이동에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 실증분석)

  • We study factors that affect consumers' switching behaviors among service providers in Korean mobile telecommunications service market. For empirical analysis, quarterly time series data from the first quarter of 2004 through the second quarter of 2007 were used. We chose the number of switchers to each mobile service provider in each quarter as dependent variables. Independent variables include acquisition costs per subscriber, which play the role of subsidy to mobile handset, switching costs, time trend, structural change effect, and waiting demand effects. Through the empirical analysis, we found that each provider's churn-in customers are affected by different factors. Specifically, the number of churn-in customers into SK Telecom is explained mainly by SK Telecom's customer acquisition costs and waiting demand from KTF, while the number of customers switching into KTF is better explained by switching costs from the previous service provider and waiting demand from SK Telecom. Those who chose LG Telecom as their new provider, on the other hand, were mainly attracted by LG Telecom's high subscriber acquisition cost.

Exploration of Research Trends in The Journal of Distribution Science Using Keyword Analysis

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to find out research directions for distribution and fusion and complex field to many domestic and foreign researchers carrying out related academic research by confirming research trends in the Journal of Distribution Science (JDS). Research Design, Data, and Methodology - To do this, I used keywords from a total of 904 papers published in the JDS excluding 19 papers that were not presented with keywords among 923. The analysis utilized word clouding, topic modeling, and weighted frequency analysis using the R program. Results - As a result of word clouding analysis, customer satisfaction was the most utilized keyword. Topic modeling results were divided into ten topics such as distribution channels, communication, supply chain, brand, business, customer, comparative study, performance, KODISA journal, and trade. It is confirmed that only the service quality part is increased in the weighted frequency analysis result of applying to the year group. Conclusion - The results of this study confirm that the JDS has developed into various convergence and integration researches from the past studies limited to the field of distribution. However, JDS's identity is based on distribution. Therefore, it is also necessary to establish identity continuously through special editions of fields related to distribution.

  • The aim of this study is to promote an appropriate consumption culture given the features of the segmented female college student group and to utilize these features as basic data at the level of consumer education. The lifestyle of female college students will be identified, along with the current use and customer satisfaction of low price cosmetics that are aimed at this group. The conclusion will be proposed on the basis of the results of this study: Firstly, low price cosmetics producers need to develop products that satisfy the needs of customers and to establish marketing strategies such as sales promotions according to the current trend. Secondly, in order to establish rational purchasing, it is necessary to promote an appropriate consumption culture by offering consumer education to college students. Thirdly, most consumers equate brands with quality. Therefore, companies need to continually produce quality products that may be differentiated from other low price cosmetics, not only in terms of price but also in terms of product quality, in order to enhance the reliability of their brand. Furthermore, it is necessary for consumers to be able to purchase products by considering product quality through searching for diverse information and not merely by depending on any particular brand.

Constructing Athlete Identification and the effectiveness of Athlete Endorsement on Customer's Purchase Intention

  • Purpose - This study focuses on the effectiveness of the athlete endorsement on the purchase intention of customers and investigates the attributes of the athlete identification. The Athlete Identification is defined by the expertise, trustworthiness, attractiveness, toughness and transgression. Athlete identification and athlete endorsement help marketers with a thorough look at the trend of using famous sports player to promote products. Research design and methodology - 450 questionnaires were delivered to respondents in Ho Chi Minh city and 433 were returned completed. Descriptive statistics, reliability, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were conducted to test the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Results - The expertise, trustworthiness, attractiveness and toughness exert positive impacts on athlete identification. Transgression affects negatively athlete identification and athlete endorsement. This research confirmed results of previous studies. Conclusions - The athlete first needs to create their own Identification from a set of attributes in order to be out-standing in the sport and leisure industry before becoming an endorser for a particular product. From the company's perspectives, decision makers should choose an acclaimed sports player to boost the purchase intention of consumers.

The Effect of the Consumer Lifestyle on Wine Purchase Behavior

  • Purpose - This study aims to investigate domestic wine consumption behavior and make future sales strategies and marketing plans. Research design, data, and methodology - To achieve the purpose of the study, the surveys were conducted targeting 350 wine customers in Jeju and Seoul. 331 responses were collected, and out of them, 21 responses were deleted because they lacked the proper information fill in. A descriptive statistical analysis was applied to the remaining 310 responses. The statistical techniques used for carrying out hypothesis-testing are EFA_(exploratory factor analysis), multiple-regression analysis, and moderating effect in SPSS 18.0. Results - The results indicate that fashion oriented, sociality aspiration and rationality seeking lifestyles had significant influence upon internal attributes. However, well-being oriented and having enjoyment oriented lifestyle had no significant influence upon internal attributes. Furthermore, all the types of lifestyles except social aspiration lifestyles had a positive influence upon external attributes, whereas internal or external attributes had positive influence on customer satisfaction. Conclusions - The consumers who experienced wine purchases think wine selection attributes differ before and after experiencing wine drinking, and it shows that the circumstantial variables as purchase situations prove to be important predicted variables in the behavior field of wine consumers. It implies appropriate wine education according to the consuming trend about wine for wine consumers are needed.

  • The Quality Management System is based on a system approach method. The Library and information center analyze the requirement of the customer, and manage to be interactive process so that we reach an information service level which the customer expects. This study accomplished theoretical review of ISO 9000 as International Quality Management System, investigated the trend for change of ISO 9000 certification systems. We reviewed ISO 9000 family which the Library and Information center possible apply and presented the requirement in the library and Information center with the process to need for a Quality Management System certification.

A Reusable Secure Mobile e-Coupon Protocol (다회 사용가능한 안전한 모바일 쿠폰 프로토콜)

  • Since nowadays mobile phone messages are flourishing, the application of electronic coupon (e-coupon) will become a trend for mobile users. E-coupon for mobile commerce can provide mobility for users and distribution flexibility for issuers. In this paper, we propose a mobile e-coupon system that just applies some simple cryptographic techniques, such as one-way hash function and XOR operation. In our system, the customer can control the number of issued e-coupons and the issuer can prevent them from double-redeeming. The customer does not need to perform any exponential computation in redeeming and transferring the coupons. Our scheme uses one-way hash chains for preventing from double-spending.
