연석의 실물차량 충돌시험 데이터를 이용한 주행안전성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Driving Safety Evaluations Using Full Scale Crash Test Data of Curb)

  • Current [Guideline for Installation and Management of Sidewalks and Safety Facilities on Roads] suggests that the types of curbs should be Barrier curb ($85^{\circ}$). Although Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) were not specified in the guideline. The curbs installed on the roads currently are Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) which are not specified in the installation standard. Therefore, it is critical to prepare for the installation standard of curbs by researching types of curbs and driving safety. This research have assessed the driving safety throughout Full Scale Crash Test according to type of curbs (Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) and Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$)). Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) showed higher figure in Theoretical head Impact Velocity, Post-impact Head Deceleration, Vehicle Damage when Crash, Passenger's Wounds Severity, and every other items than Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$). Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) were found to have better Occupant Safety Index. Analysis of Behavior Using Full-Scale Crash Test showed difference depending on the Impact Condition between Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) and Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$). Generally, Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) were superior than Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) in terms of protecting the passengers and vehicle damages. When an impact angle increases, Acceleration of Vehicle, Variations of Speed, and Contact Relationship between Wheels and Curbs, two types of curb showed similarity. However, if an impact of an angle decreases, Barrier Curbs ($85^{\circ}$) showed excellence in Driving Safety such as Acceleration of Vehicle, Variations of Speed, and Contact Relationship between Wheels and Curbs.

거더교에서의 윤하중분배에 대한 연석과 중앙분리대의 영향에 관한 연구 (Influence of Curbs and Median Strip on Wheel Load Distribution in Girder Bridges)

  • Generally, the contribution of curbs and median strip is not considered carefully in analysing and designing the girder bridges. There being curbs, the load given on interior girder relatively reduced and on exterior girder increased. Curbs and median strip reduce the load distribution factor by distributing the load given on girder fairly, In this paper, the Influence of curbs and median strip in wheel distribution through parameter study and lateral distribution test of PSC girder bridge was investigated. Finite-element analysis was performed with parameterizing the flexural rigidity of the girder, span length, girder spacing, median strip, curbs. The influence of curbs and median strip would increase with lowering rigidity of girder. In addition, curbs lower the load distribution factor of exterior and interior girders.

  • Concrete curbing blocks have been widely used in construction of roadways because they are easy too manufacture and cheap. But recently stone curbs are taking away the role from concrete curbs, because the durability of concrete curbs is inferior to stone curbs. Especially freeze-thaw effect on concrete is the most important cause that damages concrete curbs. The aim of this study is to increase the durability of concrete curbs. The concrete curbs that have been manufactured are extremely damaged below 60 cycles of freeze-thaw, but the ones that was manufactured with admixtures that entrains air are maintaining over 87% of relative dynamic modulus.

경계석과 L형 측구의 간편 시공법 개발 (Development of Simple Construction Method for Curbs and L-Type Gutter)

  • 도로의 가장자리에 설치되는 경계석과 측구는 교통사고로부터 보행자를 보호하고 강우로 인한 차량의 미끄러짐을 방지하는 중요한 구조물이다. 그러나 경계석과 측구를 시공함에 있어 대부분의 공정을 인력으로 수행하는 기존 시공법은 작업성과 시공품질, 시공비 등의 측면에서 많은 문제점을 안고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 시공법이 갖고 있는 많은 문제점들을 해결할 수 새로운 시공법을 개발하였다. 새로운 공법으로 시공된 경계석과 측구의 구조적인 안정성과 시공품질을 확인하기 위하여 기존공법과 신공법으로 시공된 경계석에 대해서 인발과 수평재하시험을 실시함과 동시에 기존공법과 신공법으로 시공된 측구에서 채취된 콘크리트 시편에 대해 일축압축시험도 실시하였다. 시험결과 신공법으로 시공된 경계석의 선형과 측구콘크리트의 강도는 크게 향상되었으며, 신공법으로 시공된 경계석의 인발 및 수평저항력은 기존공법으로 시공된 경우보다 각각 10.7배와 2.5배 큰 것으로 나타났다.

A Study on Effects of Artificial Structures on Bryophyte Diversity in Urban Greenery

  • It is important to consider urban parks and greenery not only from the viewpoint of amenity or aesthetics but also from the viewpoint of biodiversity. In this study, we focused on bryophytes (mosses), and analyzed how existence of artificial structures in urban greeney, such as concrete curbs and stone walls, affect species diversity of bryophytes. Kyoto Gyoen in Kyoto City, western Japan, was selected as the study site. In consideration of kinds of substrates on which bryophytes grow, microhabitats of Kyoto Gyoen were divided into ten types including concrete curbs and stone walls. In each type of microhabitats, we selected the area where bryophyte diversity was highest, and established a quadrat for bryophyte flora survey. Our results showed that the number of bryophyte species and growth forms and the value of diversity indices on concrete curbs or stone walls were higher than the averages of those. The bryophyte species were divided into the four groups by TWINSPAN as follows: Group A (epiphyte species), Group B (rocky species), Group C (roadsides, grassland or forest species), and Group D (waterside species). Bryophytes classified into Group B (rocky species) were mainly recorded on concrete curbs or stone walls. It was considered that the existence of artificial structures (concrete curbs and stone walls) provided favorite habitats for the bryophytes classified into Group B (rocky species), which mainly grows on concrete or rocks, and enhanced species diversity of bryophytes in Kyoto Gyoen.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the utilization of recycled fine aggregates as a material to apply to concrete curbs. This study also intends to improve the quality of recycling aggregates by adding an excellent polyester resin for the improvement of durability, anti-corrosiveness, and strength. The experimental mixing proportion was planned to acquire optimum workability and filling capability of resin mortar mixed with the recycled fine aggregate. The curbs products made for test have four type cross sections. Their flexible fracture load is 1,918~6,883kgf and their weight is 15.31~31.61kg.

DGPS와 연석추출을 이용한 순찰용 로봇의 개발 (Development of Patrol Robot using DGPS and Curb Detection)

  • This paper demonstrates the development of a mobile robot for patrol. We fuse differential GPS, angle sensor and odometry data using the framework of extended Kalman filter to localize a mobile robot in outdoor environments. An important feature of road environment is the existence of curbs. So, we also propose an algorithm to find out the position of curbs from laser range finder data using Hough transform. The mobile robot builds the map of the curbs of roads and the map is used fur tracking and localization. The patrol robot system consists of a mobile robot and a control station. The mobile robot sends the image data from a camera to the control station. The remote control station receives and displays the image data. Also, the patrol robot system can be used in two modes, teleoperated or autonomous. In teleoperated mode, the teleoperator commands the mobile robot based on the image data. On the other hand, in autonomous mode, the mobile robot has to autonomously track the predefined waypoints. So, we have designed a path tracking controller to track the path. We have been able to confirm that the proposed algorithms show proper performances in outdoor environment through experiments in the road.

활성 황토를 혼입한 모르타르 기반 경계석의 내구성능 평가 (The Evaluation of Durability Performance in Mortar Curbs Containing Activated Hwangtoh)

  • 황토는 국내 토양의 약 15.0%를 차지하는 풍부한 자원이며, 고온소성 후 급랭하여 활성화시키면 포졸란 특성을 갖는 콘크리트 결합재로서 사용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 시중에서 판매되는 경계석 배합을 기반으로 하여 활성 황토 혼입 모르타르 경계석 시편을 제작하였다. 활성 황토의 혼입율은 10.0% 및 25.0%를 고려하였으며, 시험 항목으로는 압축 및 휨 강도 시험, 동결융해 저항 성능 평가, 촉진 탄산화 시험, 촉진 염화물 확산 시험을 설정하였다. 역학적 성능 평가 결과 OPC 배합에서 가장 높은 강도가 평가되었으며, 재령일의 증가에 따른 강도 증가가 적게 나타났는데 이는 3일간 증기 양생을 통해 대부분의 강도가 발현되었기 때문으로 사료된다. 재령 28일에 해당하는 시편을 대상으로 동결융해 저항성능 평가 결과, 모든 배합에서 85.0% 이상의 강도 저하율을 나타내어 제시된 기준에 만족하였다. 촉진 탄산화 시험은 재령 28일 시편을 대상으로 수행되었으며 활성 황토 혼입 배합에서 OPC 배합 대비 다소 저하된 탄산화 저항성능을 나타내었다. 재령 28일 및 91일에 ASTM C 1202에 준하여 각 배합의 통과 전하량을 평가하였다. OPC 배합의 경우 "Low" 등급을, 활성 황토 혼입 배합의 경우 "Moderate" 등급을 나타내어 활성 황토 혼입 배합에서도 적절한 염해 저항성능을 나타내는 것으로 보인다.

  • In this study, a new bridge rail system is proposed to prevent large vehicles from running off the bridge edge. The crush model has accounted for the effects of both curbs and bridge rails which are simulated by Highway Vehicle Object Simulation Model(HVOSM) and BARRIER VII. Vehicle sizes ranged from minicars weighing 1800kg to large vehicles weighing 14000kg, and impact angles ranged from 15$^{\circ}$ to 25$^{\circ}$.
