실험계획법을 이용한 컵 귀발생의 영향인자 해석 (Analysis on the Effect of Material and Forming Conditions on the Cup Earing by Taguchi Method)

  • Finite element simulation with experimental analysis of Taguchi's orthogonal array was carried out to know the effects of material and forming parameters on the cup earing and skewness. It was revealed that the planar anisotropy was the most influencing factor in the cup ear formation whereas blank holding force and material properties such as strength and thickness deviation at the coil edge had a relatively high effect on the cup skewness.

  • 본 논문에서 Interpolation Methods를 이용하여 보다 정화한 풍속을 계산하는 방법과 보다 정확한 풍향을 계산하기 위하여 Interpolation Polynomial을 찾는 방법을 제안하였고, 이렇게 제안된 방법을 이용하여 3-Cup Anemometer의 성능을 개선하였다. 우리는 풍향, 풍속의 관측을 위해 기구부는 3-cup Type Anemometer로, 전자부는 Photo Sensor를 이용하여 구현하였다. 정확한 풍속과 풍향의 측정을 위해서는 시스템의 메모리 한계 및 성능을 고려한 시스템 설계와 8비트 Gray Code Film으로 256(= 2$^{8}$ )개의 각도 Data로 360$^{\circ}$를 표현하는 방법이다.

An Experimental Study on the Pressure Range of Fire Cupping Method

  • Background: Standardized procedures for the clinical application of fire cupping methods have not been established. In particular, the pressure parameters have not been fully characterized and described. Therefore, using various materials, this study investigated the pressure range exerted during fire cupping therapy. Methods: In this study, 3 differently sized (small, medium, large) glass and bamboo cups were used in the cotton ball fire cupping procedure to measure the pressure inside the cup applied to a human skin model. The pressure in each cup was measured 15 times for a total of 90 measurements. Results: A small bamboo cup had the minimum overall pressure (-305.4 mmHg), whereas the large glass cup exerted the maximum pressure (-401.3 mmHg), followed by the medium glass cup, large bamboo cup, small glass cup, and medium bamboo cup. The average pressure exerted by the cotton ball method for all cups ranged from -348.715 mmHg to -358.694 mmHg (95% confidence interval). Overall, the glass cups had a greater pressure than the bamboo cups in all groups (p < 0.001). Among the glass cups used, the larger the size of the cup, the higher the average pressure detected (-381.947 mmHg to -391.973 mmHg; p < 0.05). Conclusion: Large glass cups which are widely used in clinical practice, when used in the fire cupping method exerted pressure ranging from -381.947 mmHg to -391.973 mmHg (95% CI).

화재감지기의 응답특성 평가를 위한 Shield-cup이 적용된 시험방법 (Test Method Using Shield-cup for Evaluating Response Characteristics of Fire Detectors)

  • 성능위주 화재안전설계에서 요구 피난시간(Required safe egress time, RSET)의 정확한 평가를 위해서는 화재감지기 작동시간에 대한 정확한 예측이 필수적으로 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 실험 및 수치해석을 통해 화재감지기의 작동시험에 널리 적용되고 있는 Plunge test의 문제점이 검토되었다. 또한 이를 개선시킬 수 있는 새로운 Shield-cup test가 제안되었다. 측정의 정확성 및 재현성 확보를 위하여 개발된 Fire detector evaluator (FDE)가 적용되었다. 주요 결과로서, Plunge test에서는 감지기가 투입되는 순간에 급격한 유동변화로 인하여 연기감지기의 작동시간에 큰 측정오차가 발생되었으며, Shield-cup test에서는 감지기 노출 과정에서 장치 내부의 유동 변화가 거의 확인되지 않았다. 결론적으로 Shield-cup test는 모사된 화재환경에서 화재감지기의 응답특성을 보다 정확히 평가하는데 상당히 유용할 것으로 기대된다.

목재를 이용한 무할렬 숯잔 제조 및 발수특성 (Manufacturing of Wood Charcoal Cup by Using Carbonization Method and Its Water Repellency)

  • With increased interests in environmental issues, people are looking for new materials that serve special and bio-activated functions. One of interesting materials is charcoal which has excellent adsorption ability for harmful volatile organic compounds, fireproof performance, far-infrared ray emission, and electromagnetic shielding. Since non-crack carbonized board was developed from wood-based composite materials, carbonization method might be applied to woodcraft products such as wood cup and bamboo. In this study, manufacture of wood charcoal bowl was conducted with carbonization method developed in 2009 in order to activate wood products market. Ash tree(Fraxinus rhynchophylla) cup was carbonized at $600^{\circ}C$ with two pretreatments which were phenol resin and wood tar solution treatment. After carbonization of ash tree cup, non-crack charcoal cup were successfully manufactured. Phenol resin treatment affected on charcoal cup manufacturing both positively and negatively. For a positive way, it prevented shrinkage. For a negative way, it decreased water repellency. On the contrary, wood tar treatment accelerated shrinkage a bit and increased water repellency. Based on the results, wood tar can be used as pre-treatment solution for reducing post-treatment costs. We confirmed woodcraft products can be carbonized without deformation, so carbonization may provide a high value-added products from wood.

New Breast Measurement Technique and Bra Sizing System Based on 3D Body Scan Data

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to develop a method for measuring breast size from three-dimensional (3D) body scan image data. Background: Previous bra studies established reference points by directly contacting the subject's naked skin to determine the boundary of the breast. But some subjects were uncomfortable with these types of measurements. This study examined noncontact methods of extracting breast reference points from 3D body scan data that were collected while subjects were wearing standardized soft bras. Method: 3D body scan data of 32 Korean women were analyzed. The subjects were selected from the Size Korea 2010 study. The breast landmarks were identified by graphic analyses of slicing contour lines on 3D body scan data. Results: Three methods determining bra cup size were compared. The M1 and M2 methods determined cup size by calculating the difference between bust girth and under-bust girth. The M3 method determined bra cup size by measuring breast arc length. Conclusion: The researchers proposed an anthropometric bra cup sizing system with the breast arc length (M3 method). It was measured from the geometrically defined landmarks on the 3D body scan slicing contour lines. The new bra cup size was highly correlated with breast depth. Application: The noncontact measuring method used in this study can be applied to the ergonomic studies measuring sensitive body parts.

블랭크 홀딩력 제어에 의한 스탬핑 가공성 향상 기술 (Improvement of the Stamping Formability by BHF Control)

  • A variable blank holding force method is proposed to improve deep drawing characteristics of sheet materials. In this method, the blank holding force (BHF) is controlled throughout a drawing process so that the punch load does not exceed a critical value, which is slightly less than the conventional process with the conforming process with the variable BHF is more flexible than the conventional process with the constant BHF and it could be used for improving the product's quality and drawability. In this paper we suggest a method controlling the BHF as a function of punch travel during the forming process. The optimization BHF curves are determined theoretically and experimentally. It is concluded that for the case of optimum BHF control methods the drawn cup height and the drawing formability achieved by this method are increased than those for constant BHF method. Also, as comparing the wall thickness distribution of the cup drawn by the constant BHF and the optimum BHF control, the BHF control reduce the wall thickness variation of the drawn cup at the cup wall and make the cup thickness distribution more uniformly than the constant BHF.

일반적인 형상의 스탬핑의 최적블랭크 설계를 통한 민감도법의 검증 (Verification of Sensitivity Method for the Design of Optimal Blanks of General Shaped Parts)

  • The sensitivity method has been utilized to find initial blank shapes which transform into desired shapes after forming. From the information of die shapes, target shape and material properties, the corresponding initial blank which gives final shape after deformation has been found. Drawings of a trapezoidal cup, a cross-shaped cup and an oil pan have been chosen as the examples. At every case the optimal blank shape has been obtained only a few times of modification without any predetermined deformation path. With the predicted optimal blank, both computer simulation and experiment are performed. Excellent agreements are recognized between simulation and experiment at every cases Through the investigation, the sensitivity method is found to be effective in obtaining optimal blank shapes in drawing of complex shapes.

  • 제품 설계를 위한 시뮬레이션을 위해서는 다양한 인과지식이 필요하다. 따라서 현존하는 다양한 지식으로부터 새로운 지식을 획득하기 위해서는 이러한 지식들을 통합하는 것이 필요하다. 예를 들어, 사용자가 가열이 되는 컵을 설계하고자 하지만 기존의 설계 지식 베이스에는 가열되는 컵에 대한 설계 지식은 없고 가열 기구에 대한 지식과 컵에 대한 지식이 따로 존재한다. 이러한 상황에서 가열 기구에 대한 지식과 컵에 대한 지식을 통합할 수 있는 자동화된 방법론이 필요하다. 이를 통해 사용자는 가열이 되는 컵을 설계하는 지식을 획득할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 제품 설계에 관련한 지식을 통합하여 새로운 지식을 만드는 방법론을 제안 한다.
