The purpose of this study is to examine Korean students' production and perception of word-final stop voicing in light of their overseas experience. Subjects were English native speakers, Korean university students with residence experience in America, Korean university students without residence experience in America, and Korean elementary school students. They participated in both production and perception tests. Results showed that the students' production and perception with residence experience in America appeared quite similar to those of the English native speakers. In the production tests, we noticed somewhat different results in temporal and frequency features. The one-year residence in America had some influence on their frequency features, but not the temporal features in the word final stop production. That difference could be seen in the perception tests, too. We could not find any difference in the identification test of the final release environment between the Korean university students who had studied abroad and those who didn't. Rather the difference could be found in the cue influence test in both the final release and non-release environments.

The main purpose of this study was to investigate preschoolers understanding whether thinking influences emotion with cognitive cueing. The subjects were 75 preschoolers of the J, Y, & K kindergartens located in Taegu. They were 4-(12 boys and 13 girls), 5-(12 boy and 13 girls), and 6-years(13 boys and 12 girls) old. The instruments were 4 stories and 11 pictures per a story used in Lagattuta, Wellman & Flavell(1997). The responses given from preschoolers were classified in terms of cognitive cueing response. The major results showed that an initial understanding of cognitive cueing in some preschoolers revealed the evidence of significantly developmental changes during the preschool years. Cognitive cueing responses were significantly different according to thinking prompt which is the question to help preschoolers explanations. This result suggested that the instruments of measurement for preschoolers should be improved as possible as they can understand.

Advanced online environment and communication technology have made the e-commerce environments evolved rapidly. In the e-commerce area, one of the most important concepts regarding the relationship between seller and buyer is the "trust." Considering the purpose of purchase and satisfaction of website, the users may face problems such as consumer's transaction security or personal information sharing when they make transactions over web sites. It could be difficult to pursue the goal for the users to purchase product or service over online if the seller or service provider cannot establish trust to the customers. In this paper, through multi-dimensional viewpoints of trust, satisfaction can be accounted for by cue-based trust and experienced trust. The purchase intention mediates the experienced trust when online users purchase products or use online service.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the acoustic features for disguised voice. In this paper we examined the features such as pitch range, vowel formants(F1, F2, F3, F4). So the result of the analysis is as follows. : (1) Pitch range and average of pitch value is very important cue for speaker verification. (2) F3-F2 is also important cue for speaker verification (3) /a/ is more verified than other vowels.

Spatial Audio Coding 방법 중 하나인 Binaural Cue Coding 방법은 다채널 다객체 오디오 신호를 모노나 스테레오로 다운 믹스한 신호와 spatial 큐를 전송해 디코더에서 복원하는 기술로 작은 비트 율로 다채널 오디오 신호를 전송 복원해 내는 기술이다. 본 논문은 BCC 코딩 방법에서 채널 상관도를 나타내는 ICC 파라메터에 따라 spatial cue 종류를 달리함으로써 전송되는 부가정보의 비트 율을 줄이는 방법을 제안한다.

The robustness and reliability of vision algorithms is the key issue in robotic research and industrial applications. In this paper robust real time visual tracking in complex scene is considered. A common approach to increase robustness of a tracking system is the use of different model (CAD model etc.) known a priori. Also fusion or multiple features facilitates robust detection and tracking of objects in scenes of realistic complexity. Voting-based fusion of cues is adapted. In voting. a very simple or no model is used for fusion. The approach for this algorithm is tested in a 3D Cartesian robot which tracks a toy vehicle moving along 3D rail, and the Kalman filter is used to estimate the motion parameters. namely the system state vector of moving object with unknown dynamics. Experimental results show that fusion of cues and motion estimation in a tracking system has a robust performance.

We proposed the method to present corrected depth cue to an observer by stereoscopic display. It was performed in sequence that designing the displayed space having a constant interval of depth and then defining the object space which had considered to an environment of display and based on computer graphics. Consequently, we had performed a different process of reported existing methods distinctively and taken the result which correctly designed depth cue having linearity whatever various sizes of display would be used.

최근 음악을 재생할 수 있는 다양한 소형기기들의 발전이 이루어지고 있다. 휴대용 음향기기에서 곡을 탐색할 경우, 곡 탐색 습관의 특성상 눈으로 확인하지 않고 손을 사용한 촉각적 피드백만을 이용하는 것이 대부분이다. 또한 곡 탐색 과제는 청각적인 표적을 찾는 것임에 반하여, 지금까지 청각적인 단서에 대한 연구의 대부분은 시각적인 표적을 찾는 것에 집중되어 있었다. 본 연구에서는 청각적인 표적을 탐색하는데 있어 청각적 위치 단서가 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 주어진 곡 리스트를 암기한 후, 화면에 제시되는 표적 곡을 탐색하는데 있어 청각적인 위치 단서가 있는 좌우 조건, 가운데 조건, 그리고 무음 조건의 경우에 따른 곡 탐색의 정확률과 반응 시간을 측정하였다. 과제는 정상과 오류 두 가지 유형으로 구성되었다. 결과는 청각적인 위치 정보가 포함된 좌우 조건이 정상 과제와 오류 과제에 있어서 가운데 조건과 무음 조건에 비하여 모두 유의미하게 짧은 반응 시간을 보였다. 본 실험 결과는 휴대용 음향기기뿐만 아니라 위성항법장치(GPS), 가상환경(Virtual Environment) 등과 같이 청각적인 표적을 찾아야 하는 과제를 포함하는 환경에도 적용될 수 있을 것이다.

This study investigated various alternatives for childcare among dual-earner families and discussed implications for public policy development. Eight employed married women and two of their husbands were interviewed about work-family balance. All the interviewees complained that taking cue of the children in dual-earner families is a challenge. They resort to all available alternatives because public childcare support is insufficient and inadequate. There were five different types chilcare: extended family network, public and private institutions, paid help (nannies), rearranging work schedules, and training their children to take cue of themselves. However, all these alternatives entail various problems. More and better childcare facilities and programs should be built and after-school programs should be designed. On the other hand, parents should also make more effort to prioritize children's needs in finding a balance between work and family.

In this study, I investigate the role of post-consonantal fundamental frequency (F0) as a cue for automatic distinction of types of Korean stops and affricates. Rather than examining data obtained by restricting contexts to a minimum to prevent the interference of irrelevant factors, a relatively natural speaker independent speech corpus is analysed. Automatic and statistical approaches are adopted to annotate data, to minimise speaker variability, and to evaluate the results. In spite of possible loss of information during those automatic analyses, statistics obtained suggest that vowel F0 is a useful cue for distinguishing manners of articulation of Korean non-continuant obstruents having the same place of articulation, especially of lax and aspirated stops and affricates. On the basis of the statistics, automatic classification is attempted over the relevant consonants in a specific context where the micro-prosodic effects appear to be maximised. The results confirm the usefulness of this effect in application for Korean phone recognition.
