The electron spin resonanec of sigle crystals of L-alanine have been observed at T=300K, 100K and analyzed for different orieantations of the crystal in the magnetic field and at microwave frequency X-band. The stable free radical profuced by the irradiation is proved to be of the form CH$_3$CHR, where R is a group which has no nuclei with detectable coupling A notable dependence on temperature of the absorption was observed in the range from 1100K to 2l0K. It was concluded that the reorietation of the methy group of the radical H$_3$CCHR is quenched at low temperature.
The crystal structure of ethylenediamine dihydrochloride has been determined by the two-dimensional Patterson methods and refined by two-dimensional Fourier syntheses. The unit cell dimensions are a = 4.44${\pm}$0.02, b = 6.88${\pm}$0.02, c = 9.97${\pm}$0.02 ${\AA}$, ${\beta}$ = 92${\pm}$$1^{\circ}$. The space group is $P2_1_{/c}$. The carbon and nitrogen atoms in the ethylenediamine itself lie on one plane and its structure has a trans-form with a centre of symmetry in it, and C-C distance of 1.54 ${\AA}$, C-N distance of 1.48${\AA}$ and C-C-N bond angle of $109.07^{\circ}$. The molecules are linked by N-H${\cdots}$Cl hydrogen bonds with distance of 3.14, 3.16 and 3.22 ${\AA}$ forming three dimensional network. The values of reliability factor for F(okl), F(hol) and F(hko) are 0.11, 0.10 and 0.09 respectively.

A comparison of Riveted and bonded repairs, bearing and net tension failures, and Al 6061-T6 plates is presented. The results are then compared with previous papers about bonded repairs on different patch materials and shapes. Aluminum alloys, including Al 6061-T6, have a face-centered-cubic crystal structure. Under normal circumstances, these types of crystal structures do not exhibit cleavage fractures even at very low temperatures. In aluminum-base structures, the cracked plate structures are frequently repaired using mechanical fasteners-either rivets of bolts- even though patch-bonding techniques are applied to repair and reinforce the structure. Static test results indicate that the riveted repairs are affected by the position of the rivers. When using the same size of patch, the bonded repair technique is stronger; the rate of elongation is also increased. Form FEM analysis, it is revealed the origin of patch debonding in patch-bonded structures is the edge of the patch along to the tensile strength.

The experimental results using the X -ray technique, the position and structure of mica crystal are not observed the phase change of aging and sound specimen respectively. However, We could observe the intensity difference of crystal element in both atmospheres. The analysis of mica-epoxy materials by optical microscope are shown that the each surface of sound and aging specimens are different in both atmospheres Also, the experimental results have shown that the potassium ions of mica cristal are substituted by hydrogen ions at boundary area of mica-epoxy and/or mica-mica. On components made of mica, a potassium ion of big atomic radius, is replaced by hydrogen ion of small atomic radius. The voids are created by the difference of radius progressed by combined stresses. Through these phenomena, it has been proposed that the conductive layers made of potassium enable the voids to form and the cracks to create by high electric field.
We report on the successful fabrication of ZnO nanorod (NR)/polystyrene (PS) nanosphere hybrid nanostructure by combining drop coating and hydrothermal methods. Especially, by adopting an atomic layer deposition method for seed layer formation, very uniform ZnO NR structure is grown on the complicated PS surfaces. By using zinc nitrate hexahydrate $[Zn(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O]$ and hexamine $[(CH_2)_6N_4]$ as sources for Zn and O in hydrothermal process, hexagonal shaped single crystal ZnO NRs are synthesized without dissolution of PS in hydrothermal solution. X-ray diffraction results show that the ZnO NRs are grown along c-axis with single crystalline structure and there is no trace of impurities or unintentionally formed intermetallic compounds. Photoluminescence spectrum measured at room temperature for the ZnO NRs on flat Si and PS show typical two emission bands, which are corresponding to the band-edge and deep level emissions in ZnO crystal. Based on these structural and optical investigations, we confirm that the ZnO NRs can be grown well even on the complicated PS surface morphology to form the chestnut-shaped hybrid nanostructures for the energy generation and storage applications.

This paper presents the multi-user autostereoscopic 3D display system constructed and operated by the authors using the time-multiplexing approach. This prototype has three main advantages over the previous versions developed by the authors: its hardware was simplified as only one optical array is used to create viewing regions in space, a lenticular multiplexing screen is not necessary as images can be produced sequentially on a fast 120Hz LCD with full resolution, and the holographic projector was replaced with a high-frame-rate digital micromirror device (DMD) projector. The whole system in this prototype consists of four major parts: a 120Hz high-frame-rate DMD projector, a 49-element optical array, a 120Hz screen assembly, and a multi-user head tracker. The display images for the left/right eyes are produced alternatively on a 120Hz direct-view LCD and are synchronized with the output of the projector, which acts as a backlight of the LCD. The novel steering optics controlled by the multiuser head tracker system directs the projector output to regions referred to as exit pupils, which are located in the viewers’eyes. The display can be developed in the "hang-on-the-wall"form.
In this paper, we propose an optical correlator system using volume holograms for database of matched filters. Optical correlator has high speed and parallel processing characteristics of optics. Matched filters are recorded into a volume hologram that can store data with high density, transfer them with high speed, and select a randomly chosen data element. The multiple reference images of database are prerecorded in a photorefractive crystal in the form of Fourier transform images, simply by passing the image displayed in a spatial light modulator through a Fourier transform lens. The angular multiplexing method for multiple holograms of database can be achieved by rotating the crystal by use of a step motor. Experimental results show that the proposed system can be used for the fingerprint recognition.
Chlorpropamide, $C_{10}H_{13}N_{2}O_{3}SCI$, forms orthofombic crystals of space group $P_{2}_{ 1}2_{1}2_{1}$ with a 9.066 $\pm$ 0.004, b = 5.218 $\pm$ 0.003, c = 26, 604 $\pm$, 0.008 $\AA$, and four molecules per cell. Three dimensional photographic data were collected with Mo-K$\alpha$ radiation. The structure was determined using Patterson, Fourier and Difference syntheses methods and refined by the block-diagonal least-squares methods with anisotropic thermal parameters for all nonhydrogen atoms and isotropic thermal parameters for all hydrogen atomes. The final R value was 0.10 for the 1823 observed independent reflections. The dihedral angle between the planes through the benzene ring and the urea goup is 99$^{\circ}$. The conformational angle formed by the projection of the S-C(1) with that of N(1)-C(7) when the projection is taken along the S-N(1) bond is 76$^{\circ}$. The molecule appears to form with neighbouring molecules two hydrogen bonds, N(1)..H...O(3) and N(2)-H...0(2) of lengths 2.774 and 2.954$\AA$ respectively related by screw diads parallel to the a axis. Adjacent molecules parallel to b and c axis are bound together by van der Wasls forces.

tRNA (m¹ G37) methyltransferase (TrmD) catalyze s the trans for of a methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine (AdoMet) to G/sup 37/ within a subset of bacterial tRNA species, which have a residue G at 36th position. The modified guanosine is adjacent to and 3' of the anticodon and is essential for the maintenance of the correct reading frame during translation. We have determined the first crystal structure of TrmD from Haemophilus influenzae, as a binary complex with either AdoMet or S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine (AdoHcy), as a ternary complex with AdoHcy/phosphate, and as an apo form. The structure indicates that TrmD functions as a dimer (Figure 1). It also suggests the binding mode of G/sup 36/G/sup 37/ in the active site of TrmD and catalytic mechanism. The N-terminal domain has a trefoil knot, in which AdoMet or AdoHcy is bound in a novel, bent conformation. The C-terminal domain shows a structural similarity to DNA binding domain of trp or tot repressor. We propose a plausible model for the TrmD₂-tRNA₂ complex, which provides insights into recognition of the general tRNA structure by TrmD (Figure 2).
YAG:Ce yellow phosphor particles were synthesized by spray pyrolysis with changing the solution properties and their luminous properties, crystal structure, and morphological changes were studied by using PL measurement, XRD, and SEM analysis. It was clear that the solution properties significantly affected the crystal phase, crystallite size, the PL intensity, and the morphology of YAG:Ce particles. At low calcination temperature, the addition of urea only to the spray solution was helpful to form a pure YAG phase without any impurity phases, as the result, the highest luminescence intensity was achieved at the calcination temperature of $900^{\circ}C$. When the calcination temperatures were larger than $1300^{\circ}C$, however, the YAG particles prepared without any additive showed the highest luminescent intensity. Regardless of the solution conditions, the emission intensity of YAG:Ce particles prepared by spray pyrolysis showed a linear relation with the crystallite size. In terms of the morphology of YAG:Ce particles, the addition of both DCCA and $NH_4OH$ to the spray solution was effective to prepare a spherical and dense structured YAG particles.
