The cold rolled strip meets continuously rising demands on the less deviation of thickness at the width direction of their rolled products. Especially, the special interest has been to find the methods to reduce the edge drop which influences seriously on the yield losses and the quality of the rolled products. In this study, the influence of hot coils on the thickness profile of cold rolled strip was analyzed. For obtainint the tapered work roll shig\ft conditions, the thermal crown and the flattening between the work roll and the strip were calculated, and the main parameters which have mostly effects on the edge drop were simulated. Also the obtained conditions from the simulation were applied to Tandem Cold Rolling Mill to investigate the change of the edge drop and the crown ratio depending on the amount of work roll taper and the length of contact of taper. The results of the application led to better thickness profile than conventional one.

This study was carried out to propose the improved method by analyzing the change of green space arrangement and planting structure of apartment complexes in Seoul. 12 survey sites, which have obvious differences, were selected by reflecting the change of floor area ratio, underground parking place, and green space ratio. We divided the survey sites into four types that high green ratio(over 40%) apartment on natural ground, low green ratio(under 40%) apartment on natural ground, low green ratio(under 40%) apartment on artificial ground, and high green ratio(over 40%) apartment on artificial ground each period based on green space ratio and ground structure, plant crown volume, planting density, and planting pattern. The main factors of change of green space arrangement were green space ratio and ground structure. The Green space ratio was changed by the floor area ratio with constructing underground parking place and floor area ratio was adjusted by government policy and economic status. Average width of front green area has been changed from 10.0m in high green ratio apartment on natural ground for 3.5m, 2.7m, and 4.5m each period. The average width of the buffer green area has been changed from 15.0m in high green ratio apartment on natural ground of 7.7m, and 2.7m by extending parking place in the low green ratio apartment of artificial ground, so buffer green areas have been reduced and disconnected. So buffer green area in apartment complexes has been extended that the average width of the buffer green area was 3.8m caused by growing recognition of green since 2001. The ratio of native plant in canopy layer was increased from 45.1 % in the case of the high green ratio apartment of natural ground in 1980~1983 to 55.6%. Average plant crown volume increased from $1.27m^3/m^2$ in high green ratio apartment on natural ground for $3.47m^3/m^2$ in a low green ratio apartment on natural ground. But average plant crown volume is $0.27m^3/m^2$ in the high green ratio apartment of the artificial ground plant density of canopy layer was changed from 5 individuals per $100m^2$ to 14.5 individuals per $100m^2$. We should construct the buffer green area with natural ground and get the function of ecological and beautiful environment regarding to garden concept in case of front green area, width 4.5m. We should get the function of increasing green volume by multi-layer planting with shade woody species and flower woody species in case of back-side green area, width over 5.0m. We should get the function of covering the wall and increasing green landscape by planting with high woody species in case of side green area. We should apply the ecological planting technique to buffer green area and connect buffer green area to inner green area in apartment complexes.

Purpose: The short dental implant is considered as possible solution in the alveolar bone height deficient cases. The aim of this study was to evaluate clinical availability of short implants by measuring the marginal bone loss of short length implants and comparing with that of conventional length implants. Materials and Methods: The groups were composed of patients who had received at least one implant. The samples of this study were selected from patients who with functional loading after prosthetic treatment for 1 year follow up period. The implants with a length of 5.7 mm and 6mm were considered short. (Bicon Dental implants, USA). The experiment group was composed of $4.5{\times}6mm$, $5{\times}6mm$, $6{\times}5.7mm$ implants (total 18 implants were placed in 14 patients, 8 on maxilla, 10 on mandible). The control group was composed of $4.5{\times}8mm$, $5{\times}8mm$, $4.5{\times}11mm$, $5{\times}11mm$. All implants were selected only by implants placed on molar area. We evaluated marginal bone loss in radiographic images at baseline (implant loading) and 3, 6, 12 months after loading. Additionally, crown-to-implant ratio was evaluated, and marginal bone loss according to crown-to-implant ratio after functional loading was analyzed. Results: The short implant group had a mean marginal bone level of $-0.52{\pm}0.69mm$; the 8mm group, $-0.22{\pm}0.82mm$; and the II mm group, $-0.10{\pm}1.09mm$ after I year of functional loading. But significant differences were not detected between three groups at every follow-up period. Crown-to-implant ratio in short implant group was $1.55{\pm}0.23$; 8mm group was $1.15{\pm}0.18$; and 11mm group was $0.92{\pm}0.15$. Additionally, significant differences between three groups were founded. (P<.0001) The greatest marginal bone loss after 1 year follow-up was founded at crown-to-implant ratio 1~1.49 range in short implant. Conclusion: The marginal bone loss of short implants was comparable to that of long implants. So, the short implants can be a clinically acceptable option.
This study focused on Jungchimak (coats with side slits) which was typically worn by men in the mid and late Joseon Dynasty. It was done research by examining the case of wearing Jungchimak centering on literature and paintings and analyzing its changes in terms of its form based on the relics that have been found in order to suggest the standard for the evaluation of the period of Jungchimak. Results are as follows. First, men who wore Jungchimak were the king, crown prince and Aristocratic under the official uniform or other robes or as ordinary clothes and shroud. Second, Jungchimak for king was mostly made of Dan (satin damask) and mostly jade green & navy in color, and it commonly used dragon pattern, cloud and treasure pattern, or grape pattern. The fabric used to make Jungchimak for crown prince was Dan & Ju (coarse-finished silk) and puple, green, jade green & navy in color. The fabric used to make Jungchimak for Aristocratic was Ju and indigo or white in color. Third, 251 relics have been announced until now. Most of them were made of silk fabric and had cloud and flower patterns. Fourth, Jungchimak showed changes through time in terms of collar and sleeve shapes, the ratio of armhole to sleeve opening, Geotseop (panel sewn on front opening for overlapping), Dang and Mu (side panel), the ratio of the total length of outer collar to the length of side slits, and the ratio of chest size to the width of lower end.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the cusp variation pattern of the Korean mandibular second premolar and to determine the difference in tooth diameter and surface area using a virtual three-dimensional model. Methods: Dental casts from 69 students were scanned as a virtual dental models with a three-dimensional dental model scanner. Tooth diameter, absolute and relative individual areas, total crown area, the number of lingual cusps and central groove pattern were analyzed using RapidForm 2004. The Mann-Whitney U-test and the Kruskal-Wallis test were performed to verify sexual dimorphism, the difference in tooth diameter and surface according to the cusp variation pattern (α=0.05). Results: There was no significant difference except in buccolingual diameter (p<0.05) and buccolingual diameter at the cervix (p<0.05). The relative surface area of the total clinical crown was 65.76% for the buccal half and 34.24% for the lingual half, with a ratio of 2:1. In the case of the presence of two lingual cusps, the ratio was 21.47% for the mesiolingual half and 14.12% for the distaolingual half, with a ratio of 3:2. The dominant central groove patterns of the second premolar were the H-pattern (42.0%), followed by the Y-pattern (37.7%), then the U-pattern (20.3%). The relative buccal half was largest in the U-pattern central groove and the relative lingual half was largest in the Y-pattern central groove (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study is significant in that it measured quantitative surface areas and the findings could be a meaningful reference to comprehend dental anatomy in Koreans.
The aims of this study were to compare the shaping effect and safety between single length technique recommended by manufacturer and crown-down technique using Mtwo rotary file and to present a modified method in use of Mtwo file. Sixty simulated root canal resin blocks were used. The canals were divided into three groups according to instrument and the manner of using methods. Each group had 20 specimens. Group MT was instrumented with single length technique of Mtwo, group MC was instrumented with crown-down technique of Mtwo and group PT was instrumented with crown-down technique of ProTaper. All of the rotary files used in this study were operated by an electric motor. The scanned canal images of before and after preparation were superimposed. These superimposed images were evaluated at apical 1 to 8 mm levels Angle changes were calculated. The preparation time, weight loss, instrument failure and binding, canal aberrations, and centering ratio were measured. Statistical analysis of the three experimental groups was performed with ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range tests for post-hoc comparison and Fisher's exact test was done for the frequency comparison. In total preparation time, group MT and group MC were less than group PT. In the aberrations, group MT had more elbows than those of group MC and group PT. The binding of group MC was least and group MT was less than group PT (P < 0.05). Under the condition of this study, crown-down technique using Mtwo rotary file is better and safer method than single length technique recommended by the manufacturer.

The influence of the pile diameter, center to center pile spacing, internal friction angle of embankment soil, and height of embankment on the arching efficacy of the embankment pile was investigated. The arching efficacy, which was derived by the arch model developed in the embankment soil was calculated using two methods, one that considers crown failure of the arch and the other that considers load on the pile cap and critical relative spacing ratio for which the arching efficacy calculated by the two methods are the same. According to the computed results in this study, the arching efficacy calculated from a consideration of the load on pile cap governs when the relative spacing ratio becomes smaller and that calculated from the theory of crown failure governs when the relative spacing ratio becomes larger. The critical relative spacing ratio below which the arching efficacy calculated from a consideration of the load on pile cap governs the design decreases with increasing value, which is defined by the ratio of the pile diameter to the pile center to center spacing. Critical relative spacing ratios, which correspond to the values of 0.5 and 0.2 were 0.35 and 0.85, respectively. Considering the computed results, the critical relative spacing ratio decreases with increasing Rankine passive earth pressure coefficient and critical relative spacing ratios, which correspond to values of 5 and 2, were 0.23 and 0.85, respectively. The arching efficacy, which corresponds to the area ratio of 9%, was 54% and the one that corresponds to the value of 3 was 61%; the critical relative spacing ratios, which correspond to those arching efficacies, were greater than 0.5.
The effect of ultrasonic decomposition was introduced to develop a pretreatment method for the analysis of potassium ion in human urine by potentiometry. N-(4’-benzo-15-crown-5)-anthracene-9-imine, which has a good selectivity coefficient for potassium against ammonium, was used as an ion-selective material for the determination of potassium in urine with relatively high concentration of $NH_4{^+}$. Protenis in urine be removed by 85.1% when the sample acidified with 1.0 M $HNO_3$ was preteated for 100 s by sonication. Potential response of the membrane electrode in the pretreated urine had a slope of 54.6(${\pm}0.2,\;n=5$) mV/decade over the linear range of log $[K^+]$=-5~-1(r=0.9997). When an oxidant, $H_2O_2$, was addwd to the urine sonicated with $HNO_3$, the deproteinization increased 10% more than that in case if only $HNO_3$ and then the maximum ratio of ca. 95% was obtained. Moreover, the Nernstian slope for $K^+$ added to the urinary sample increased to 56.7(${\pm}0.1,\;n=3$) mV/decade. When the calibration curves were measured, the slopes did not vary even after the electrode was successively used 20 times with ultrasonic cleaning. The results showed that an ultrasonic pretreatment method provides simplicity in use, reduced treatment time and improved potentiometric characteristics of the membrane as the method effectively removes ca. 95% of proteins in urine.
Glycosylation of benzoylated glycosyl halides of glucose, galactose and mannose with potassium p-nitrophenoxide and 18-crown-6 complex in chloroform resulted in the stereospecific formation of 1,2-trans p-nitrophenyl glycopyranosides in good yields. The same reaction with benzylated mannopyranosyl chloride gave the ${\alpha}-and\;{\beta}-p-nitrophenyl$ mannopyranosides in 3 : 1 ratio. However, acetylated 2-azido-altropyranosyl chloride gave ${\beta}-p-nitrophenyl$ altropyranoside only.

Globally, the forest fires are a significant contributor of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. In this study, fuel load consumed by forest fire and emission of green house gases were analysed in the surface layer. For this, remaining fuel was collected and weighed with the species (Japanese red pine, deciduous) and the forest fire types (surface fire, crown fire) in the 51 forest fires. 8,361 kg/ha fuel load was consumed in deciduous forest damaged by surface fire, and 8,055 kg/ha, 12,333 kg/ha in Japanese red pine burned by surface fire and crown fire. The combustion ratios were 78, 59, and 90%, respectively. 15,856 kg/ha the green house gases such as $CO_2$, $CH_4$, $CH_4$ in deciduous forest burned by surface fire was emitted and 14,834 kg/ha, 22,709 kg/ha in Japanese red pine burned by surface fire and crown fire.
