The purpose of this paper is to provide a careful and accessible exposition of diffusive logistic equations with indefinite weights which model population dynamics in environments with strong spatial heterogeneity. We prove that the most favorable situations will occur if there is a relatively large favorable region (with good resources and without crowding effects) located some distance away from the boundary of the environment. Moreover we prove that a population will grow exponentially until limited by lack of available resources if the diffusion rate is below some critical value; this idea is generally credited to Thomas Malthus. On the other hand, if the diffusion rate is above this critical value, then the model obeys the logistic equation introduced by P. F. Verhulst .

For the improvement of microelectronic thin film interconnection materials, dielectric passivation effects on the electromigration phenomena were studied. Using Al-1%Si, various shaped patterns were fabricated and dielectric passivation layers of several structures were deposited on the $SiO_2$ layer. Lifetime of straight pattern showed 2~5 times longer than the other patterns that had various line width and area. It is believed that the flux divergence due to the structural inhomogeneity and so the current crowding effects shorten the lifetime of thin film interconnections. The lifetime of thin film interconnections seems to depend on both the passivation materials and the passivation thickness. PSG/$SiO_2$ dielectric passivation layers showed longer lifetime than $Si_3N_4$ dielectric passivation layers. This results from the PSG on $SiO_2$ layer reduces stress and from the improvement of resistance to the moisture and to the mobile ion such as sodium. This is also believed that the lifetime of thin film interconnections seems to depend on the passivation thickness in case of the same deposition materials.

An SOI(Silicon-On-Insulator) LD(Lateral Double-diffused)MOS with graded gate and recessed source is proposed. The proposed structure can increase the breakdown voltage by reducing the electric field crowding at the edge of gate. Simulation results by TSUPREM4 and MEDICI have shown that the breakdown voltage of proposed device was found to be 52 V while that of conventional device was 45 V. At the same breakdown voltage of 45 V, the on-resistance of the LDMOS with graded gate and recessed source was 14.4 % lower than that of conventional structure.

The patient, 16 years female, complained of anterior cross-bite and retrusion of maxilla. Mandibular incisors occluded labially to maxillary incisors. Normally developed mandibular arch in normal elation to facial line, S-N-Pog was within normal range. Cross-bite of anterior teeth was corrected by means of Class III elastics under multibanded system. Space for alignment of crowding of upper anterior teeth was regained by means of cervical headgear and sliding yoke. She gained good alignment of anterior teeth and attractive facial profile after 2 years.

11 years 7 months old female had a reverse object of anterior teeth and class III molar relationship. Maxillary right and left canines were erupted labially and lower left lateral incisor was congenitally missed. She was treated by rapid palatal expansion and full band technique with extraction of maxillary and mandibular second molars. The following results were obtained. 1. Maxilary arch was expanded. 2. Anterior cross-bite and crowding was corrected. 3. Molar relationship was corrected. 4. Profile was somewhat improved.

The trench termination scheme is introduced for high voltage devices. The curvature of the depletion region at field limiting ring is critical factor to determine the breakdown voltage. The smooth curvature of the depletion junction alleviate the electric field crowding effect around this region. In the trench field limiting ring, the radius of the depletion region is smaller than conventional field limiting ring, but the distance between every trench is spaced small enough to punchthrough before initiation of local breakdown. The trench field limiting ring on silicon can ne formed by RIE followed by oxidation on side wall surface of the trench, and polysilicon filling. The combined termination of this trench floating field ring and field plate have been designed and analyzed. The breakdown simulation by 2-dimensional TCAD shows that the cylindrical junction breakdown voltage for substrate doping might be 99 percent of the ideal breakdwon voltage for substrate doping concentration of $3\times10^{14}cm^{-3}$ with about $100{\mu}m$ of lateral termination width.

We report the treatment of an adult Class II malocclusion with severe crowding and a hopeless lower second molar. According to the treatment plan, 4 premolars and 4 third molars were to be extracted for 2-jaw surgery. To replace the hopeless lower second molar, one upper third molar was successfully autotransplanted during the pre-surgical orthodontic treatment. Multiple teeth are frequently extracted for treatment purposes in adult surgical cases. Under precise diagnosis, the reuse of extracted teeth to replace missing teeth can be a successful alternative even in adult surgical patients.

본 연구는 계룡산국립공원을 방문한 이용객들의 전반적이 이용형태, 이용만족도, 그리고 이용 및 관리 관련 속성에 대한 태도를 파악함으로서 효율적인 공원관리방안 수립에 필요한 기초 정보의 제공에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 응답자 직접기입 방식의 설문조사가 계룔산국립공원의 3개지역 (동학사. 갑사, 신원사)를 방문한 316명의 이용객을 대상으로 실시되었다. 응답자의 사회경제적 특성은 타국립공원에서 실시된 조사결과와 유사한 경향을 보였다. 계룡산국립공원은 휴식 목적의 방문비율이 가장 높았으며, 동반자 유형에 있어서 가족동반 비율이 가장 높게 나타났다. 또한 응답자들은 도착지에서의 이용정보의 질과 제공수단에 불만족을 나타냈으며 응답자들이 현지에서 느낀 혼잡의 정도는 심하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 함께 전반적인 휴양만족도는 비교적 긍정적으로 평가되었다.

Eruption of the teeth can be disturbed by crowding, ectopic eruption path, retention for pathologic condition of follicle and periodontal ligament, local disturbances in the innervation, and delayed eruption for overlying obstacles in the eruption path. Eruption disturbance of permanent posterior teeth is taken with diverse therapeutic approaches according to the patient age, cooperation of patient, tooth position and maturity, degree of impaction, clinical features, and repercussion on the neighboring teeth. However, delayed treatment usually results in less favorable outcomes. Therefore, In order to prevent this situation, periodically radiographic examinations during the early mixed dentition period and early diagnosis of eruption disturbances of permanent posterior teeth are recommended.

High-performance GaN-based light emitting diodes (LEDs) with high efficiency and excellent reliability have been of technological importance forapplications in full color display, automotive lighting, and solid state lighting. To realize high-performance and excellent-reliability LEDs, various technologies such as surface texturing, transparent conducting oxide, surface Plasmon, highly p-conduction layer, current blocking layer, photon-enhanced layer, and nanostructures have been extensively investigated. Among them, advanced core technologies based on how to suppress surface leakage and current crowding, how to enhance current injection efficiency and output power, and how to resist electrostatic damage will be displayed and discussed using our reported and preliminary results. New approaches like integrated LEDs will be also introduced and discussed.
