인삼 직파 3년생에서 재식밀도에 따른 품종별 생육특성 (Growth Characteristics and Yields of 3 Year Old Korean Ginseng with Different Planting Densities in Direct Seeding Cultivation)

  • The present study was investigated the effect of planting density on plant growth and yield of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer. Sowing density is one of the most important factors affecting yield. The value of roots have affected by shape, color, weight and degree of disease injury in ginseng. Also, it needed to minimize elapsed time for 5 years including pre-planting field management and cultivation period. We were conducted to evaluate that planting densities and varieties on the growth, yield and missing rate. The direct sowing was treated seeds density as a four levels (seeds; 72, 90, 120, 144) and 10 different varieties with 3 years old ginseng roots. Root weight was significantly affected by planting density and variety, but the number of lateral root and yield were affected by only planting density. Growth index was related to variety and planting density. Also, Root shape index was affected by both varieties and planting densities. Suitable planting density and variety were 120 plant per 1.62 $m^2$ and Gopoong, respectively. Results showed that it was also a significant difference (p=5%) in variety of planting density on growth.

  • In recent years, due to climate change, the livestock industry has become more interested in the production of forage crops. In Korea, more than 74% of forage crops are cultivated in winter rice fields. In particular, Italian ryegrass (IRG) is depends on imports for more than 70% of its seeds. In generally, the IRG rapeseed cultivation method involves sowing from early October to mid-October by drill sowing seeding or spot seedling. However, the sowing period is delayed due to frequent rainfall during. And, same period require a lot of seeds. However, raising seedlings and transplanted IRG will overcome weather conditions and reduce the amount of seeds. This study was intended to be applied to the domestic IRG seed industry in the future through growth and quantity evaluation according to transplant time and planting density for the production of good quality IRG seeds in rice paddy fields. In this study, transplanting time (October 20, October 30, November 10) and planting density (50, 70, and 80) were cultivated at the National Institute of Crop Science in 2021. The amount of fertilizer applied was adjusted to (N-P2O5-K2O) 4.5-12-12 (kg/10a), and then 2.2(kg/10a) of nitrogen was added each year. For the growth survey, leaf area, canopy coverage, plant length, and seed yield were investigated. Along with the transplanting time, the plant length was higher on October 20 than on October 30 and November 10. On the other hand, leaf area index changes differed depending on the transplanting time and planting density, and were particularly high on October 20, 80 density and 70 density, but similar on October 30 and November 10. 1000 seed weight showed no difference with transplanting time and planting density. On the other hand, the seed yield was 215(kg/10a) for 80 density on October 20, 211(kg/10a) for 70 density, 118(kg/10a) for 50 density, and 80 density for October 30 and November 10. and 70 density did not differ. On the other hand, the 50 density on October 30 and November 10 were 164(kg/10a) and 147(kg/10a) respectively. As can be seen from this study, the earlier the transplant, the higher the seed yield. However, the 50 density was reduced in yield compared to the 70 density and 80 density.

벼 드문모심기 재식밀도에 따른 품종별 생육 및 수량 변이 (Changes in Growth and Yield of Different Rice Varieties under Different Planting Densities in Low-Density Transplanting Cultivation)

  • 벼 드문모심기는 노동력과 생산비용을 절감할 수 있는 재배기술로 본 연구에서는 드문모심기의 적정 재식밀도 설정을 위해 분얼특성이 다른 품종별 생육 및 수량을 분석하였다. 37주~80주/3.3 m2 재식밀도에서 소얼형, 중간형, 다얼형 품종을 가지고 시험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 재식밀도는 낮아질수록 주당 분얼수(이삭수)는 많아지지만 면적당 분얼수(이삭수)는 적어졌는데 소얼형 품종일수록 적었다. 분얼 발생기간이 길어졌고 소얼형 품종에서 가장 길어졌다. 2. 재식밀도 감소에 따라 출수기 직전의 엽색은 진해지고 군락피복도는 감소하였다. 분얼이 많은 호평과 예찬보다는 소얼형인 신동진에서 변화폭이 컸다. 3. 출수기는 재식밀도가 낮아질수록 0~2일 늦춰지는 경향을 보였고 수전기간은 차이가 나지 않았다. 4. 재식밀도 감소에 따라 천립중은 유의한 차이가 없었다. 반면 재식밀도가 줄어들면서 면적당 영화수와 등숙률의 저하로 수량이 감소되었다. 5. 안정적인 드문모심기 재배를 위한 재식밀도는 50주/3.3 m2 이상으로 판단된다. 또한 소얼형인 신동진이 재식밀도 감소에 따른 생육 및 수량 감소가 큰 것으로 나타나 분얼이 적은 품종보다는 많은 품종을 선택하여야 할 것으로 생각된다.

Effects of Root on Bulk Density of Soils Tested by Volume Check Apparatus through Water-filling

  • Soil bulk density is a key parameter for soil physical property. Much root placed in rhizosphere soil lump, especially in grassland and orchard, makes it difficult to measure soil bulk density. This experiment was carried out to countermeasure the above drawbacks. Volume check apparatus using water-filling method was made of acryl for higher accuracy in bulk density measurement. 10 types of land cover, including bare, tall fescue, rye, and soybean, were used for determining the relationships between root and bulk density. In this study, higher root volume resulted in higher differences in bulk density between in-situ core soil and root-ridded core soil, which indicated the volume check apparatus through water-filling could be useful for increasing the accuracy of bulk density of soils with much root.

파종밀도에 따른 직파재배 3년근 인삼의 수량 및 품질 특성 (Physicochemical Characteristics of 3-Year-Old Ginseng by Various Seeding Density in Direct-Sowing Culture)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the physicochemical characteristics of 3-year-old ginseng (for Samgyetang product) cultured by various seeding density in direct-sowing culture. Ginsengs were cultured by the seeding density, 275, 300, 330 352 and 396 seeds per Kan, $180{\times}90cm$ area. Survived rate (82.1%) were the highest in plot of 352 seeds sowed, length and leaf width were high in plot of 300 and 352 seeds. Root yield grain was increased with increase of the seeding density in direct-sowing culture except 352 seeds sowed. Average root weight and diameter were the highest in plot of 352 seeds sowed, 31.6 g and 18.4 mm, respectively. Crude saponin and each ginsenosides content were the highest in plot of 275 seeds sowed. Rg1 content was decreased, Rc and Rb2 content were increased with increase of the seeding density. Total soluble sugar content was the highest in plot of 330 seeds sowed and the lowest in plot of 396 seeds sowed, and oligo- and disaccaride content were high in plot of 330 and 352 seeds sowed. Reological characteristics of ginsengs cultivated according to various seeding density, hardness and springness were high and maximum fracture force was low with decrease of the seeding quantity.

  • This study was conducted to obtain the basic data for using the Artemisia anuua as a new economic crop, thus Artemisia anuua was investigated their cultivation characteristics, yield, and variation of artemisinin contents by planting density and harvesting times. Seed characteristics of A. anuua have observed micro-size, and their germination optimum temperature was at 15 to 20 celsius degree. Planting density on the yield of A. anuua was increased high density better than low density. The highest yield was planted in the space of $30{\times}10$cm. Moreover, optimum harvesting time of A. anuua was investigated in early september and a periods of most highly detected artemisinin was time of before and after blooming of A. anuua.

Threshold Subsoil Bulk Density for Optimal Soil Physical Quality in Upland: Inferred Through Parameter Interactions and Crop Growth Inhibition

  • Optimal range of soil physical quality to enhance crop productivity or to improve environmental health is still in dispute for the upland soil. We hypothesized that the optimal range might be established by comparing soil physical parameters and their interactions inhibiting crop growth. The parameter identifying optimal range covered favorable conditions of aeration, permeability and root extension. To establish soil physical standard two experiments were conducted as follows; 1) investigating interactions of bulk density and aeration porosity in the laboratory test and 2) determining effects of soil compaction and deep & conventional tillage on physical properties and crop growth in the field test. The crops were Perilla frutescens, Zea mays L., Solanum tuberosum L. and Secale cereael. The saturated hydraulic conductivity, bulk density from the root depth, root growth and stem length were obtained. Higher bulk density showed lower aeration porosity and hydraulic conductivity, and finer texture had lower threshold bulk density at 10% aeration bulk density. Reduced crop growth by subsoil compaction was higher in silt clay loam compared to other textures. Loam soil had better physical improvement in deep rotary tillage plot. Combined with results of the present studies, the soil physical quality was possibly assessed by bulk density index. Threshold subsoil bulk density as the upper value were $1.55Mg\;m^{-3}$ in sandy loam, $1.50Mg\;m^{-3}$ in loam and $1.45Mg\;m^{-3}$ in silty clay loam for optimal soil physical quality in upland.

한반도 중서부 초본식생에 있어서의 최대현존량과 종밀도와의 관계에 대하여 (On Relationship between Maximum Standing Crop and Species Density in the Herbaceous Vegetaton of West Central Korea)

  • To test whether the Grime's model on relationship between maximum standing crop plus litter (350~750g/$m^2$) and species density (10~30/0.25$m^2$) fit well or not, a total of 52 samples, with 4 replicate plots (0.5m$\times$0.5m each) per sample, was collected from various forests, grass lands and coastal salt marshes in midwestern part of central Korean peninsula from September to October in 1982. The result agrees well with the model for grass lands salt marshes, that is, shape of curve for the maximum standing crop (minus litter) against species density indicates normal distribution. The number of species was 11 for the grassland and 7 for the salt marshes within the range of 300g to 700g per square meter for the maximum standing crop. In forest stands, however, as the maximum standing crop of herbs increased the species density decreased. The Grime's model does not seem to fit with the resutls on forest stands of this study. It is examined further the relationships among the maximum standing crop, species density and eleven soil properties, and the possible cause of this discrepancy was disscused.

재식밀도변화에 따른 주요 벼 품종의 수량구성요소 변화분석 (Change in Yield Characteristics by Transplanting Density in Major Cultivated Rice)

  • 벼 품종별 재식밀도 변경 시 생육특성 변화를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 재식밀도 변경 시 간장, 수장의 변화는 없으며 각 포기 사이의 재식거리가 10 cm 넓어질수록 포기당 분얼수는 평균 4.4개, 이삭당 립수는 평균 7.5개 증가하였다. 2. 기존 80주 이앙 시 분얼수 및 립수가 많은 품종이 재식밀도가 감소되어도 분얼수 및 립수가 많은 경향이었다. 3. 재식밀도 감소 시 분얼수 및 립수 증가비율은 기존 80주 재배 시 품종의 분얼수 및 립수와 유의한 상관관계를 나타내지 않았다. 4. 재식밀도 감소 시 이삭지경의 개수 및 길이가 증가하였으며 이 때문에 이삭당 립수가 증가한 것으로 판단된다.

단삼의 재식밀도와 피복재료에 따른 생육 및 수량특성 (Characteristics of Growth and Yield by Planting Density and Mulching Materials in Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the variation of growth and yield using different planting densities and vinyl mulching in S. miltiorrhiza cultivation. Top plant growth was observed in the $30{\times}30cm$ planting density of S. miltiorrhiza;, plant height, leaves and branches were larger than in the other treatments. Root length, root diameter, and supporting roots of underground part were increased as planting density was wide, and dry root weight was increased in $30{\times}30cm$. However, yield was highest at 294 kg/10a in the planting density of $30{\times}10cm$. The use of 30-31cm white and black vinyl mulching had no significant effect on the plant height of S. miltiorrhiza, as compared to non-mulching. However, the highest volume of leaves and plant weight was observed in plants using 24.7 black vinyl mulching. Dry underground root weight was highest in black vinyl mulching at 21.7 g compared to 17.0 g for non-mulching. Yield per 10a increased by 28% using black vinyl mulching compared to non-mulching. Based on the results of this study, planting density of $30{\times}10cm$ and black vinyl mulching are the most suitable in the cultivation of S. miltiorrhiza.
