Evaluation of Ageing Characteristics of Polymeric Insulators for Distribution Lines by Tracking Wheel Test (Tracking wheel 시험을 통한 배전용 폴리머애자 열화특성 평가)

  • This study describes the results of aging characteristics of polymer insulators through the tracking wheel test. In order to evaluate the reliability of polymer insulators, 4 polymer insulators which used in the field were selected. Electrical tests such as power frequency voltage test, steep-front impulse voltage test were performed after tracking wheel test. Chemical structure and contact angle were measured for investigating an aging characteristics. Although some changes have occurred on the surface of insulator, there are no critical changes between new and tracking wheel tested insulator.

  • An experimental and numerical study on shock attenuation in a solid by a subminiature flyer impact was conducted to determine the performance of a subminiature exploding foil initiator such as, flyer velocity and impulse loading. The obtained attenuation pattern shows the possibility to determine the critical flyer velocity for initiating the miniaturized pyrotechnic unit by figuring out shock intensity and duration according to flight characteristics.

Exploring University Student's Responses to Consumer Information in Personal Media Using Critical Incident Technique: Focusing on YouTube (결정적 사건기법을 적용한 대학생의 1인 미디어 소비자정보에 대한 반응 탐색: 유튜브를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to explore the impressive experiences of university students on YouTube media and to find ways to improve personal media as useful consumer information. 44 university students were selected, and data on the experience of using YouTube were collected and analyzed by applying the critical incident technique. As a result, the positive responses to personal media were derived from 'enhancing C2C information capabilities', 'consumer-centric usability', 'attractive information creators', 'a sense of the sameness', and 'fresh and entertaining information'. Negative responses were derived from 'spreading of harmful information', 'distrust in information creators', 'inducing excessive advertising and impulse buying', 'media addiction' and 'relative deprivation'. In addition, improvement of the personal media has been suggested. This study has differentiation and significance as a qualitative data for understanding consumer's perception and experience of personal media.

  • As the integration of circuit components increases steadily, various EMS(Electromagnetic Susceptibility) problems have emerged from integrated circuits and electrical systems. The electromagnetic susceptibility of VCOs(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) is especially critical in RF systems. Therefore, in this paper, through the phase noise theory that models electrical oscillators as linear time variant systems, the EMS characteristics of representative VCO -ring VCO and LC VCO- with 1.2 GHz of reference oscillating frequency are analyzed under the existence of the electromagnetic noise coupled in power supply. An simulation algorithm is developed to extract impulse response function based on the phase noise theory. When there is no supply noise, the magnitude of the jitter of two oscillators were similar to around 2.1 ps, but in presence of supply noise, the jitter was significantly lower in LC VCOs than ring VCOs.

  • Toward the practical applications, on operation of conduction-cooled HTS SMES at temperatures well below 77 K should be investigated, in order to take advantage of a greater critical current density of HTS and considerably reduce the size and weight of the system. Recently, research and development concerning application of the conduction-cooled HTS SMES that is easily movement are actively progressing in Korea. Electrical insulation under cryogenic temperature is a key and an important element in the application of this apparatus. Using multi wrapped copper by polyimide film for HIS SMES, the breakdown characteristics of models for turn-to-turn, that is surface contact model, were investigated under ac and impulse voltage at 77 K. A material that is Polyimide film (Kapton) 0.025 mm thickness is used for multi wrapping of the electrode. Statistical analysis of the results using Weibull distribution to examine the wrapping number effects on breakdown voltage under ac and impulse voltage in $LN_2$ was carried.

The Effect of HiPIMS Conditions on Microstructure of Carbon Thin Film (카본 박막의 미세조직에 미치는 HiPIMS 공정조건의 영향)

  • Carbon thin films were deposited by HiPIMS(High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering). The properties and microstructures of carbon thin film were investigated with power, pressure, bias voltage and duty cycle. As the HiPIMS power increased, the deposition thickness increased and the surface tended to be rough. The increase in pressure also tended to make the surface rough, but the deposition thickness was not proportional to the pressure. As the bias voltage increased, the surface roughness became worse, the deposition thickness increased and then decreased from the critical bias voltage. Changes in the duty cycle have caused problems such as arcing, which is affected by the chamber structure and the size of the target. The $sp^2/sp^3$ fractions of thin films were estimated by XPS and it was confirmed that the fraction of thin films made by HiPIMS were larger than the fraction of thin films made by DC sputtering.

Effects of Chinese Consumer lifestyles on perceived value, purchase intention, and satisfaction of Korean medium & low price cosmetics (중국 소비자 라이프스타일이 한국 중·저가 화장품의 지각된 가치, 구매의도, 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • Chinese economic growth and Chinese adoption of foreign cultures have changed varied phenomena, consumption patterns and consumer life-styles, in particular. In order to understand behavior of Chinese consumers, it is critical to explore their lifestyles and its effects on their purchase behavior. For attaining this goal, our research classifies Chinese consumer lifestyles related to cosmetics, into four types: brand oriented, price sensitive, rational consumption, and impulse buying. The research further analyzes the effects of consumer lifestyles on perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in each case of skin care cosmetics and make-up cosmetics. Significant difference are found in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention of skin care cosmetics exists between brand-oriented type and rational consumption type. This is also the case between rational consumption type and impulse buying type. Purchase intention is only found to be different between rational consumption type and price sensitive type. In case of make-up cosmetics, significant differences in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in the pairs of brand-oriented type and rational consumption type, rational consumption type and impulse buying type, and rational consumption type and price sensitive type. This implies rational consumption type should be more appropriate target consumers in the Chinese cosmetics market.

  • The need to accurate quantification of blast pressure loading in the near field is important because the focus of security design of critical infrastructure, buildings and bridges is for near-field detonations. Incident and reflected pressures for near-field detonations are very difficult to be measured by commercially available pressure transducers due to the high pressure and temperature, which requires a verified and validated computational fluid dynamics code to reasonably predict the near-field pressures and impulses. This paper presents numerical studies to verify and validate a CFD code for calculations of incident and reflected overpressures and impulses. The near field is emphasized and recommendations for mesh sizes to optimally simulate the near-field detonation are provided.

The Acoustic Vibration Properties for Chicken Eggs (계란의 음향진동 특성)

  • Surface crack detection is an important aspect in the quality control process of egg markets. The acoustic vibration of an egg could be used as a critical factor in evaluating the eggshell quality. The mode shape indicates the egg vibration behavior at different locations with respect to the input impulse and provides important information for the optimum sensor location to obtain the desired acoustic measurements. Theoretical analysis and experimental measurements were conducted to determine the acoustic vibration modes in eggs. The resonant fiequencies of the first and second resonance mode of intact eggs were found to be distributed between 2kHz and 7kHz range. The measured mode shapes of an egg were similar to theoretical shapes of homogeneous, elastic spheres. An elliptical deformation at the equator ring of the egg was observed. The frequency peak of this mode was dominantly present in the frequency spectrum of an intact egg impacted at its sharp position. The mode shapes related to the first resonant frequency of an egg shelved that the optimum location for the measuring sensor was the 180 degrees position. A optimum location for the egg support was found to be the 90 degrees position having the smallest vibration magnitude.

Pseudo Stereophonic Acoustic Echo Canceller using Hyper-plane Projection Algorithm (Hyper-plane투영 알고리듬을 이용한 의사 스테레오 음향 반향 제거기)

  • This paper proposes a new stereophonic acoustic echo canceller to prevent impairments on the voice quality and to remove acoustic echo effectively appearing in stereo environment at the instant of abrupt change of the transmission room environment in teleconferencing system. In stereophonic acoustic echo canceller, the major defective problems are the large computational complexity of estimating echo path systems due to the long impulse response of the true echo paths and the performance degradation of echo canceller due to large correlation between dual stereo signals. Moreover, the change of the suboptimal solution for the echo canceller was considered as a critical deficient factor on to the performance of stereophonic echo canceller. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes pseudo stereophonic acoustic echo canceller using Hyper-plane projection algorithm, which shows the robustness to the environment change of the transmission room and the efficiency of computational complexity.
