The article aims to present findings of a study which has examined the ability of elementary school mathematics teachers and of teacher-trainees in other disciplines to solve irregular challenging problems of sequences in general rather than numerical sequences only. The findings show that mathematics teachers succeed to cope with unusual assignments when the requirements of the problems presented to them are analogous to irregular problems. However, when the problems require a change in the thinking procedure in the direction of creative thinking, there is a considerable decrease in performance. Another finding shows that, although teacher-trainees succeed less in solving the presented problems, they give incorrect solutions which do indicate creative thinking. An inevitable conclusion based on the research findings is that teacher training institutions should enhance and reinforce multi-directional. branching out and creative thinking competences.
In the 21st-century postmodernism era, which represents diversity and relativity, one of the most essential elements in the field of education is to strengthen individual human values. Accordingly, we must focus on developing capacity in order to adapt to change. It is clear that the medical field maximizes the need for new judgments to solve life-related problems constantly, and this problem-solving capacity is an essential skill for a physician. Problem-solving capacity can be achieved simultaneously with creativity to apply them in an appropriate manner based on standardized expertise and well-trained skills. Creativity is also a key element that medical education is currently pursuing. Many studies on creativity have resulted in confusion and misunderstandings on the concept of creativity due to similar terms and varied definitions, such as creation, innovation, etc. In this study, we attempt to identify the importance of creativity in medical education by comparing and organizing concepts related to creative capacity.
Paradigm of Global economy is changing to creative economy. This study focuses on the role of creative economy to clarify (understand clearly) the impact (influence) which transition of economy system will bring about. The creative economy is basically came from New economy theory. According to the New economy theory, a state can achieve sustainable growth without an inflation, or higher growth rate under given inflation rate, through an investment on ICT. However, different from America, Korea had limited effect of New Economy. This is because Korean economy had factor-input driven growth model rather than New Economy mechanism. However, ICT is essential requirement to move toward New Economy(Digital Economy), it does not sufficiently explain the increase of productivity and economic growth. A crucial point to realize New economy is how to diffuse and spill over the technology development on ICT sector to other industry. ICT is not creative industry or creative economy per se, and it should play as an enabler to improve other industry's productivity. The creative economy can be understood as an extension of New Economy theory. It means the economy that creates values by cultural assets and human resource, as well as capital and labor factors. However, if we understand the meaning of creative economy as change of input factors, it is hard to bring real shape of creative economy.
This study examines the vocational adjustment experiences of elderly men who chose a creative occupation after retirement. The aims are to understand the related meanings and to provide specific empirical data on the elderly who hope to start a creative occupation. Five men aged 65 years or older who chose a creative occupation after retirement were enrolled in the study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the participants. The collected data were qualitatively analyzed, and a total of 7 categories, 25 subcategories, and 132 concepts were identified. The seven categories were "challenge led by a sense of freedom," "reflection of the need for 'fun,'" "difficulties and limitations felt by a non-expert," "concerns and effort to afford the increasing expenses," "joy for accomplishment," "ways to utilize my creativity," and "reward from increased social participation." The participants felt that adjusting to a creative occupation was a process by which their potential creativity was expressed. They felt the joy of working that they had not felt before, and the series of processes by which they overcame difficulties during work and increased their social participation were in line with the goals of creative aging. In order to help older adults in Korea to choose and adjust to creative occupations in their older adulthood, there is a need for creative-occupation-related education prior to retirement and for various policies and practical efforts that consider the change of social environment. Furthermore, our findings suggest that choosing a creative occupation after retirement is an effective measure for promoting successful aging among the elderly in Korea.
This study intended to develop and produce a modern form of fashion design for the Korean creative dance performance, 'Crazy Skirt Collage', which expressed conflict between internal ego and a persona in a woman. The qualitative method was used to analyze literature review, internet search and visual data of historically important cases related to the theme. Based on the analysis, the fashion design of the dance performanre by Hwang Hee-Yeon that was actually staged on Towol Theater, one of the Seoul Arts Center, was produced. The results wire as follows; First, the study confirmed a change of persona that revealed a female's animus strongly as it moved into the modern time. Second, the female's persona was expressed through long skirts, slips, dress shoes, handbags, military shoes, dresses with long zippers, trousers, wedding dresses and Korean full skirts during the performance, while the female's animus through male coats, panties, big bags and clock. In conclusion, it is necessary to study new expressive methods, that is, dance clothes using advanced equipment such as lights, videos or other variety of materials. It is also important to understand aesthetics of modern women's ordinary lives and to adapt ordinary clothes to dance clothes in various methods in order to express their modern lives appropriately through Korean creative dance.
This study was aimed to make clear fashion is an expression art displaying not only functional or commercial aspects, but creative functions as an artistic work by analyzing Art Mode and its values, and to help develop more creative design by combining fashion with art. In terms of method, relevant documents, precedent studies, and the works announced in domestic and foreign fashion collections, such as Vogue, Fashion News, Gap, and Collections from 2000 to 2009. According to the findings, artistic works were used by the Art Mode in modern fashion. The respect of artists was expressed using historic famous painting works or current works in various fields, designers' individuality was shown by directly applying work messages to clothes, and fashion design was converted into a tool to communicate the messages like artistic works. Second, the various styles, using the formative character of modern art styles from animalism to modern abstractism, showed the creativity of design, transformed art into the art that enables to see the image of modern art, and presented the possibility of developing into a newer creative design through the application of numerous art styles and the transformation of ideas. Third, the collaboration with artists was used. Fashion designers or fashion brands tried to change the images of works or brands in partnership with artists or to increase differentiated images. The future direction of fashion is a pursuit of new form and content to express fashion, not simply to use artistic works. It is expected that such pursuit will lead to more creative and artistic fashion design.
The purpose of this study was to develop a middle school science climate change education plan. The detailed contents of the study are as follows: First, a research study was conducted for understanding climate change and the direction and contents of the climate change education were set up. Second, the climate change education plan was prepared. The middle school climate change education plan were arranged through research study. The results of the study are as follows: First, the direction and contents of the climate change education were arranged. The direction of the climate change education was arranged to reflect the global science education system, sustainable development education, and youth leadership. Second, the middle school climate change education plan was arranged. The middle school climate change education plan includes a course of study and creative experience program. The plan for the course of study focused intensely on scientific study.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding on the primary school students' scientific creative problem solving ability, science process skills and attitude toward science class. To verify this research problem, the subject of this study was fifth-grade students selected from four classes of M elementary school located in Busan city. For four months, the experimental group of 51 students was taught using the "scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding". The control group also of 53 students was taught in normal classes which used a text-book. All students were given pre and post test to verify the effects of scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding on the primary school students' scientific creative problem solving ability, science process skills and attitude toward science class. The results from this study are as the following. First, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding were effective in scientific creative problem solving ability among the primary school students. It is possibly because in the process where one student compare his/her own thoughts with the others' ones and discuss them. Second, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding were effective in science process skills among the primary school students. Third, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding were effective in attitude toward science class. In conclusion, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding had positive effects on improvement of primary school students' scientific creative problem solving ability, science process skills and also could lead to a change in students' cognition about science class to a positive way. Therefore, the scientific discussion class focusing problem finding is hopefully to be provided as an effective instructive strategy of science class in school in the future.

The purpose of this study is to apply the PEOE class model that can enhance students' scientific creative problem-solving ability and self-directed learning ability in the middle school science subject and analyze the effects of it on students' long- and short-term retention, scientific creative problem-solving ability, and self-directed learning characteristics. And the paper has gained the following results: First, according to the result of analysis through the pre-test, post-test, and delay test to examine the effects of PEOE-based class on learners' long- and short-term retention, it is found to be statistically significant in the significant level of .05. In other words, the class using PEOE influences learners' short-term retention significantly, but it is even more effective in transmitting the concept that students acquire into their long-term memory. Second, according to the result of analysis through the pre-test and post-test to examine the effects of PEOE-based class on learners' scientific creative problem-solving ability, it is found to be statistically significant in the significant level of .05 in general. However, 'elaboration' and 'originality', the subfactors of scientific creative problem-solving ability, do not indicate significant effects. Third, according to the result of analysis through the pre-test and post-test to examine the effects of PEOE-based class on learners' self-directed learning characteristics, it is found to be statistically significant in the significant level of .05 as a whole. However, 'openness' and 'future-oriented self-understanding', the subfactors of self-directed learning characteristics, do not exert significant effects. Based on the above study results, it can be concluded that PEOE-based class is more effective for learners' academic achievement in science, scientific creative problem-solving ability, and self-directed learning characteristics than lecture-method instruction regarding the middle school science unit of 'The Properties of Air and Weather Change'.
It is not easy to get more attention as a prominent advertising expression among various types of numerous advertisements. Due to the voluminous expansion of advertising communications and the change of the media, new advertising creatives must be needed for serving to differentiate the message , inviting audiences to participate more positively in advertising communications This thesis aims at reviewing the absence as an advertising creative. And this thesis is about the significations of the absence. Chapter I describes the aim of this thesis about the absence as an advertising creative And Chapter II introduces the general concept, perception of the absence and its possibilities as an advertising creative And also mentions about the absence as one of paradoxical expressions with rhetorical theories as well as semiotics. Chapter III deals with the signification of the absence with introducing semiotic methods such as the theory of R. Barthes Chapter IV discusses the signification of the absence as an advertising creative talking into consideration of semiotic theories. And I categorize the types of the absence in advertising expressions. The absence is categorized into 5 types in this thesis. Type (1) is the absence of product which is supposed to be advertised, type (2) is the absence of product and make product image located out of main image of an advertising expression for introducing features of a product itself. And type (3) is the absence of the imaginary audience to invite an audience to participate more spontaneously. Type (4) is the absence of headlines, and type (5) is the absence of almost all visual images and verbal message but a corporate symbol or brand logo. The signification of S types of the absence can be described on the basic of semiotic theories, especially the theory of R. Barthes. It's my hope that this thesis about the absence as an advertising creative will serve as the basic theory for the empirical research about advertising expressions containing images of the absence.
