From Perspectival Space to Projected Space -A Study on Architectural Design Using Three Dimensional Projection of Two Dimensional Drawings- (투시도적 표상에서 공간의 투사로 -2차원 그림의 3차원 투사를 활용하는 현대건축의 경향에 대한 연구-)

  • Many contemporary architectural avant gardes tend to use painting as a medium to create architecture which goes beyond the rationalized spatial conception of modem architecture represented by perspectivism. They produce non perspective drawings to represent spatial Ideas, and expand it through poetic imagination to create an unexpected architectural form and space. This paper attempts to analyze the historical origin and background of dominance of drawing in the production of architecture. It was with the invention of perspective that architectural representation became important tool for architectural production. Thereafter, drawing was considered prior to actual building and architecture was considered a three dimensional realization of two dimensional drawing. Modernist avant gardes such as Cubism shattered the rationalized pictorial space of perspective and found a new pictorial space. They tried to extend it to three dimensional space through parallel projection largely based on the Hildebrand's theory of pure visibility. However, due to the ambiguity of the position of the viewing subject, their attempts could not succeed in creating a new architecture. The new architectural avant garde of the 70's rediscovered the early 20th century avant gardes in their attempt to create a new architecture which can register the fragmented spatial condition of contemporary society, and used painting as a medium to create architecture. Their difference from the early avant gardes was that they used poetic imagination rather than parallel projection in the process of projecting three dimensional space and form from the painting. However, their architecture cannot escape the scopic field of perspectivism in that they rely on the picture plane and the distance between object and viewing subject. Therefore, I conclude that in order to create architecture which goes beyond the rationalized space of modern architecture, it is necessary to resort to other tradition of modern architecture than visual one.

Ways of expressing materials to create visual perception spaces in commercial spaces (상업공간에서 시지각 공간유도를 위한 재료 표현방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the ways of expressing materials to create visual perception spaces in "commercial spaces". The result is as follows. First, it has been discovered that expressing materials in commercial spaces plays an important role in creating various visual perception spaces as well as discriminative spaces, in commercial spaces. Hence, it will be necessary to make a multilateral study on how you can express materials to create visual perception spaces. Second, by referring to earlier studies, four types of space have been deduced as visual perception spaces. These are: "expansion", "central", "borderline" and "decoration" spaces. Third, by considering the space types and characteristics as well as the expressing materials, the criteria for the ways of expressing materials to create visual perception spaces in commercial spaces. Finally, looking at these expression methods, images of "expansion" spaces have most commonly been expressed indistinctly by using the materials and patterns. The profound images of "central" spaces were displayed using the materials and their symbolic images have been shown using the materials and colors. In the "borderline" spaces, the areas have been distinctly segmented or expressed in limited spaces by using the materials and colors. Visual designs were displayed in the "decoration" spaces by using materials from other space fields. All these phenomena have demonstrated that various new materials are being used to create various distinctive designs in commercial spaces. The result of this study shall act as basic reference materials in devising visual designs needed in creating various visual perception spaces.

  • For this study, a series of interviews with engineers in the Korean construction industry was carried out through a formal workshop format to analyze the causes of the inferior quality of builders' hardware. The authors established the causes of defects in window hardware construction in relation to the three aspects of system, design, and construction as involving the following seven factors: lack of system (including low ability to create construction specifications); low social awareness of the importance of window hardware; low technical capability to create design drawings; low design costs; small manufacturing capacity; low construction cost; and short duration of construction. Among the seven causes, the biggest cause of defects in window hardware construction is the lack of a system (low ability to create construction specifications), followed by low technical capability to create design drawings. In addition, this study carried out basic research to create measures to prevent defects in window hardware construction by analyzing how such causes of defects are distributed depending on the scale of architectural firms and construction companies during actual projects.

  • A nuclear power plant (NPP) is a highly complex system-of-systems as manifested through its internal systems interdependence. The negative impact of such interdependence was demonstrated through the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. As such, there is a critical need for new strategies to overcome the limitations of current risk assessment techniques (e.g. the use of static event and fault tree schemes), particularly through simulation of the nonlinear dynamic feedback mechanisms between the different NPP systems/components. As the first and key step towards developing an integrated NPP dynamic probabilistic risk assessment platform that can account for such feedback mechanisms, the current study adopts a system dynamics simulation approach to model the thermal dynamic processes in: the reactor core; the secondary coolant system; and the pressurized water reactor. The reactor core and secondary coolant system parameters used to develop system dynamics models are based on those of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. These three system dynamics models are subsequently validated, using results from published work, under different system perturbations including the change in reactivity, the steam valve coefficient, the primary coolant flow, and others. Moving forward, the developed system dynamics models can be integrated with other interacting processes within a NPP to form the basis of a dynamic system-level (systemic) risk assessment tool.

This model become the standard model, which give not only in itself mold information but also computer processed product with measuring date. Spur gear require mathematical examination of involute curve and trocoidal fillet curve. Automatic design program, which have a mathematical development create the profile of spur gear.

  • 본 연구는 게임을 비롯한 여러 가지 콘텐츠에서 활용하기 위해서 단일 이미지를 이용한 복층 구조의 지형을 제작하는 방법에 대해서 제안한다. 기존의 하이트맵(Heightmap)을 이용하여 복층구조를 제작했을 때의 문제점을 제시하며 어떻게 단일이미지 하이트맵(Heightmap)을 이용하여 복층 구조의 지형을 제작할수 있는지에 대한 방향을 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 단일 이미지의 RGBA값을 이용한 복층 구조 지형 제작 방식에 대한 실험을 통해 제안한 알고리즘을 검증한다.

  • A new paradigm is urgently needed to create the textile product that appeal to human Kansei or Gosei. A future of textiles depends heavily on this new paradigm. In order to create new paradigm Kansei color designs by pleasant sound are tried. These computing color designs are treated by the method of Fast fourier Transformation. As several result good color designs are given in forms of ring color patterns and band. But these judgments depend finally on human kansei. These new technology give us good hints in order to create new paradigm that appeal to Kansei goods. This new concept should be developed to higher level by additional improvements.

  • A digital city model represents a 3D environment of a city with various city object information such as 3D building model, road, and land cover. Usually, at least two satellite images with some image overlap are necessary and a complex satellite-related computation needs to be carried out to create a city model. This is an expensive technique, because it requires many resources and excessive computational cost. The authors propose a methodology to create a digital city model including 3D building model and land cover information from a single high resolution satellite image. The approach consists of image pan-sharpening, shadow recovery, building occlusion restoration, building model extraction, and land cover classification. We create a digital city model using a single KOMPSAT-2 image and review the result.

  • We present a sketch-based animation interface that allows novice users to create informative 2D web animation quickly, In this paper, we uses cutouts as a main animated primitive to allow users to quickly create 'cutouts on whiteboard' style animations. Users can freely draw and write, and at the same time they can easily manipulate animated cutouts to create impressive animations, We demonstrate that our system is capable of creating more impressive animations more quickly than sketch-only animation approaches.
