모꾸메가네 기법을 활용한 금속표면 디자인 연구 (A Study on the Metal surface Design from Mokumegane technique)

  • 대부분의 금속 공예가들은 자신의 개념 속에 있는 조형언어를 표현하기 위하여 필요한 재료를 찾고 기법을 연구함으로써 작품을 제작해 왔다. 그 중에서도 금속 공예는 재료의 제한 된 색상을 극복하려고 여러 가지 기법을 바탕으로 금속 표면에 변화를 주어 조형적 장식성을 표현했으며 미적 가치를 높이려 노력하고 있다. 이러한 시점에 과거의 전통 기법에 머물지 않고 새로운 방법을 연구해 나가는 작업이 가치 있는 일이므로, 본 연구는 이러한 요건에 맞추어 재료, 도구, 미적 표현의 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구는 전통 금속 공예 기법 가운데 모꾸메가네(Mokumegane)기법을 활용하여 기존에 사용해 왔던 금속재료와 현대의 합금 금속재료를 적층융접하여 금속 표면 색상 표현을 연구하였다. 또한 작업 종류에 따른 문양표현 기법을 제시하여 기계에서 찾아볼 수 없는 금속표면의 무늬를 연구하여 전통 기법의 계승을 발전시킴과 동시에 고급공예시장에 대한 객관적 대비에 대하여 모색하고자 하였다.

  • Architectural Drawing has been settled down the very effective means of exchanging their architectural ideas and data on the construction process. However, it was not easy to conserve the original drawings, which aims had been accomplished, at the same time, building was built. The same phenomena were occurred in our traditional architectural construction project, especially before pre-modern age. And do not understand soundly building documentation accepted by craftsmen in the period of earliest Chosun dynasty and how to present their idea and information of architectural as means of sketches and drawings. So, this paper aimed to clarify the drawing occurrence and the development steps of their rendering, representation methodology in the construction process in Sannungdogam-Uuigue, which were the construction documents of government based on the royal family's tomb and building projects in the late Chosun Dynasty. There are three development stages of architectural space representation, pre-drawing stage, drawing occurring stage and drawing settlement stage, They had been adapted unique drawing presentation method which were drawn by artisan, so called Doseol(圖說)and Painter Hwawon(畵員) The results are 1. In the Pre-drawing stage, they had been used the systematic explanation method of character 2. Do not have the evidence of adapting drawing before 17th centry, it was originated in early 17's century started with Onga(甕家). Onga's Drawing was drawn very elementary skill, and became development, settlement and standardization of their drawing representation around 19th century 3. The drawing presented by client's recognition view of space and building, integrated data within a sheet of drawing with practical and hierarchy and using graphic and description.

미국 산업구조의 변화가 고령 남성의 고용에 미친 영향: 1880~1940 (Changing Industrial Structure and Employment of Older Males in the United States: 1880~1940)

  • 본 논문은 고령 노동자에 대한 퇴직의 압력이 직종별로 어떻게 달랐으며 그러한 차이가 시간에 따라 어떻게 변화했는지를 살펴봄으로써 산업화 시기 미국 고령남성의 고용상의 지위 변화를 분석하였다. 직종에 따른 퇴직확률을 비교한 회귀분석 결과는 경제적 지위와 근로조건이 우월한 직종에 고용되어 있던 고령 노동자들의 퇴직확률이 더 낮았다는 사실을 보여준다. 이 결과는 이미 20세기 초부터 은퇴 행위가 기본적으로 자발적인 것이었다는 최근의 견해를 반박하는 것이다. 장기실업의 상대적인 비율에 기초하여 측정한 노령화에 따른 노동시장에서의 불이익은 숙련공, 조립공, 판매직 등의 직업군에서 컸던 것으로 나타났다. 반면 농민과 관리 및 전문직 종사자는 고령화에 따른 고용상의 불리함이 상대적으로 적었던 것으로 보인다. 1880년에서 1940년 사이에 발생한 직업구조의 변화 패턴을 살펴보면, 산업화와 함께 노년기의 퇴직압력이 상대적으로 강했던 산업들의 비중이 커졌다는 것을 알 수 있다.

미국 아르데코 건축의 근대성과 지역주의 - 마이애미 해변을 중심으로 - (Modernity and Regionalism of American Art Deco Architecture - Focused on Miami Beach -)

  • Art Deco is a decorative and eclectic design style, popularized at the interwar period. The term Art Deco derives from the Exposition Internationale des Arts D$\acute{e}$coratils et Industriels Modernes held in Paris in 1925. The aim of the exposition was to create new modern aesthetics. This exposition introduced the modern decorative and industrial art to the world and influenced all designers of area, including architects, interior designers, industrial designers, craftsmen, fashion designers, etc. Art Deco designers applied inspirations from a variety of sources and movements such as the Cubist abstract, the Neoclassical refinement, Egyptian exotic elements, Babylonian and Aztec temples, the machine aesthetic, avant-garde movements, etc to their modern works. Art Deco style rapidly spread all over the design areas nationwide in America. In Art Deco architecture, in particular, its inception was French but its domination was American. Skyscrapers, airplanes, automobiles, ocean liners, jazz, Hollywood film, streamline, and native Indian symbols are the defining features of American Art Deco. This study began from questions on how these features are expressed and stylized to decoration elements as the modern aesthetics in American Art Deco architecture. Thus, the purpose of the study is to find out the ornamental and eclectic factors of Art Deco style and to define a concept of the modernity and the regionalism of Art Deco architecture in America. This article provides an overview of the decoration style of Art Deco architecture in America through the analysis of ornamental and eclectic factors reflecting diverse roots. It also analyzes the wide variety of building examples of American Art Deco which represent regionalism. In addition, this study focuses on Art Deco architecture in Miami, Florida. Miami is one of typical cities that has the most unique regional aspects of 1920's to 1940's in Art Deco architecture. Miami Art Deco architecture reveals the tropical and nautical references such as streamlined and curved walls, exotic animal motifs, flora and fauna motifs, and marine motifs: use of glass block, porthole window, terra-cotta, and pastel color stucco.

절대주의 실험 예술의 환경과 예술가 의상 (Artist's Clothing and Environment of Suprematism as Experimental Art)

  • The aim of this study is to shed light on essentials of Suprematist artists focusing on Malevich and their works in relation to modem design, and to examine their roles in the modem design industry compared to those of modem designers. The study obtains the following result on Suprematist artists and their works in Russian avant-garde in terms of modem design. Firstly, Suprematist artists had a great deal of interest in practical design although it seemed Suprematist were replaced by utilitarianism in avant-garde during the Russian revolution. Secondly, Suprematist artists were the first artists to bring the birth of modem design trends by applying their art in geometric forms to clothing and fabric design as well as ornaments and handicraft. Thirdly, the artists' attempt to work with needle workers made it possible to set achievements in design and modem decorative art exhibitions in various fields of art-life. As for the role of modem designers, Suprematist artists including Malevich have significant meanings as follows: Firstly, Malevich was a creative, future-oriented artistic designer who realized zaum of painting on the stage and created suprematistic mode in a cosmic point of view in order to agree with the environment. Secondly, Suprematist artists knew the importance of works that were produced by craftsmen and worked together with them. Therefore, the designers could maintain fabric decoration in difficult conditions knowing the importance of the high value-added industry. Thirdly, they were artists in real life who embodied the ideas and theories of Suprematist in sample works by recognizing the need of changes in life environment: they planned to set a new visual world in art but did not confine the idea only to painting.

사대부 묘 석인상 복식의 양식변화 요인에 관한 고찰 (Factors relating to Changes in Costume Style of Stone Statues at Tombs of the Emerging Gentry (Sadaebu) in the Joseon Dynasty)

  • This study reports the costume changes and the factors of the changes from stone status in joseon dynasty. It can be summarized as follows: First, the artisan for the statues is one of the most important factors for the costume changes. The artisans who were involved in building the King's tomb were also made the stone statues for scholars' tombs. This results in that the style of the King's tomb influenced the costumes of stone statues for scholars' tombs. Some craftsmen who were buddhist monks also influenced the introduction of buddhist arts. Second, the stone statues are classified into 3 types according to the dead's social position: the civil officer statues, the military official statues, and the servant statues are installed for the civil officer, the military officers, and others, respectively. This principle was applied well. However, the civil official statues are mainly installed in late joseon dynasty because the civil officers are socially preferred to the military officers in late joseon dynasty. Third, there are two types of civil officer statues; Gongbok type and jobok type. Civil officer statues of Gongbok type were mainly installed in early joseon dynasty and civil officer statues of jobok type were begun to be installed in the early 16th century. Civil officer statues of Gongbok type were fade out after the late 17th century. Fourth, there are three reasons why civil officer statues of jobok type were installed at the officers's tombs 270 years earlier than at the Kings' tombs: 1) Introduction of Daemyunghoejeon and its application, 2) an establishment of a system that requires to prepare jobok individually, and 3) self-confidence of scholars' class on political and cultural maturity.

  • 현대 도자예술은 다양한 표현기법을 가지고 있다. 그 중에서 현대사회의 디지털화로 인하여 전사기법이 발전하게 되었고 전사기법은 현대도예의 표현매체로 활용되어지고 있다. 그러나 전사기법은 단순히 획일적이며 대량생산을 위한 현장에서의 적극적 활용에 비해 소공예 작가들이 전사기법을 활용해 그들의 작품에 응용할 예술적, 이론적인 충분한 정보를 주지 못하고 있다. 이에. 본 논문에서는 전사기법의 의미를 이해하고 작가의 개성과 예술성을 전사기법으로 표현한 현대 도예작가들의 작품을 고찰해 봄으로써 전사기법이 현대도예의 표현 매체로 도자공예의 미적 예술적 효과를 높일 수 있으며 좀 더 고부가가치 산업으로 자리매김 할 수 있는 토대를 마련하고자 한다.

  • 이 연구는 기술 기능분야 인적자원을 선도할 수 있는 기술 기능계 자격에 대한 질 관리 현황을 파악해보고 개선 방안을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 기술 기능계 자격의 질관리 방법을 탐색하였으며, 기술계 자격의 질관리 현황과 문제점, 기술 기능계 자격의 질관리에 대한 요구 분석, 외국의 질관리 방법 등을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 기술 기능계 자격내용에 대한 질관리 방법과 자격운영 조직 및 제도에 대한 질관리 방법, 기술 기능계 자격종목에 대한 사후관리 프로그램을 제시하였다. 연구방법으로 관련자료의 수집 및 분석, 자격취득자 및 산업체 인사담당자(관리자)를 대상으로 한 설문조사, 기술 기능분야 전문가 협의회 개최, 기술 기능분야 산업현장 전문가 및 자격취득자의 의견수렴을 위한 면담조사 등이 적용되었다.

'Look at the Alcohol If You Want to Know the Country': Drinking Vessels as a Cultural Marker of Medieval Korea

  • As 'a total social fact,' drinks and drinking may serve as a lens through which we can view a distant society. Although not frequently discussed, drinking vessels serve the same function for accessing a past world hidden or forgotten behind written records. The present article is an art history attempt to seek a cultural link between liquor vessels used in medieval Korea and the political and social change of the period. The Goryeo period (918-1392) saw an unprecedented abundance of drinking vessels in various forms and decorations. Goryeo artisans and craftsmen produced ewers, pitchers, flasks, bottles, and others in addition to the pre-existing shapes of vessels mainly consisting of jars and bowls. I argue that this sudden burst of creativity during the Goryeo period was closely related to Goryeo's constant and diverse contacts with foreign powers. Their zone of international connections was not confined to the Chinese world, as we have commonly presumed. Even before the Mongol intervention, Goryeo was in contact with regions beyond East Asia through the northern nomadic states. Khitan Liao was recorded as having worked as a kind of international intermediary to link the Chinese and Islamic worlds. This medieval global culture became a norm in Goryeo society when it became an important part of the Mongol Empire. These nomadic powers brought global trends to Goryeo, and foreign drinks were among them; kumis, araq, and grape wines are just three cases of them discussed in this article. The change of alcoholic drinks led to, or was accompanied by, a new range of drinking vessels. Three types of ewers, familiar to East Asian consumers but foreign in their origin, are discussed in the main text to highlight such social change. Three more cases of drinking cups are also presented. The article shows that medieval Korean society was far more open to international art and culture than our usual understanding, and in their drinking vessels, Goryeo culture embraced global trends reaching China, the Islamic world and Europe.

자동화 시스템을 통한 쥬얼리 산업의 제조 혁신에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacturing Innovation in the Jewelry Industry through Automated Systems)

  • 쥬얼리 CAD, CAM 등의 자동화 시스템이 도입되기 이전의 쥬얼리 제조 산업은 핸드메이드, 즉 손으로 직접 만드는 방식의 원본 제작이 많았다. 그러나 자동화 시스템의 도입이후 고급기술을 가진 원본 세공기사들은 사라지고 컴퓨터디자이너와 3D프린팅 출력 기사들이 그 자리를 대신하는 추세이다. 기존의 헨드 메이드 방식의 생산라인에서 CAD, CAM 등 자동화 시스템의 도입은 디자인의 다양화, 쥬얼리 제조의 첨단화, 전문화를 이루었다. 국내 쥬얼리 산업에서 제작 공정 시 CAD, CAM등의 자동화 시스템의 의존도가 지속적으로 높아지고 있으며 대학의 쥬얼리디자인 교육과정에서도 점점 많은 부분을 차지하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때 앞으로 쥬얼리 제조 산업에서의 CAD/CAM 자동화 시스템분야는 꼭 필요한 중요한 분야가 되고 있다.
