The livestock infections had been happened seasonally, but they have gradually changed to be irrelevant to seasons and have an aspect to rapidly spread after outbreak. Especially in Korea, proactive disinfection measures are very important because the livestock farms are located densely so high as to accelerate the spread of disease between farms. livestock disease outbreaks like HPAI and FMD occurred with high probability due to vehicles visiting the farms, this study is to evaluate the efficiency of livestock vehicle disinfection systems by investigating the disinfectant coverage according to the type of vehicle disinfection system and the type of vehicle quantitatively. In field experiments, water-sensitive papers (WSPs) were attached to 21 locations on the surface of four vehicles (sedan, SUV, truck, and feed transport), respectively, and exposed to disinfectants while the vehicle was sprayed in two vehicle disinfection systems (tunnel type and simplified type). The WSPs were scanned and image-processed to calculate the disinfectant coverage. The results showed that the tunnel-type vehicle disinfection system had a better disinfection performance with an average coverage of 90.27% for all vehicles compared to 32.62% of the simplified type system. The problem of the simplified system was a wide coefficient of variation (1.05-1.31) of the disinfectant coverage between 21 locations indicating a need for further improvement of nozzle location and arrangement.
Recently the water quality management policy gives priority to management the point source. Point pollution sources have definite emission points and are discharged to one point through a pipe. But Nonpoint pollution source (NPS) has uncertain pathway, pollutant load and runoff characteristics unlike point pollution sources, making them difficult to manage. Thus, the Korea government plans to develop and equip facilities that help reduce NPS so as to manage them more easily. But removal efficiency of Best Management Practice (BMPs) is in influenced by rainfall, hydrologic condition like natural phenomenon, so factors of removal efficiency are difficult. Thus there is a need for multilateral research about many factors that affect removal efficiency for removal facility design of proper non-point pollution. In this research, mapping, vegetation coverage and retention time were investigated in the case of factors that affect removal efficiency in grassed swale, a nature-type non-point removal facility. Grassed swale obtained changed of coverage using Braun-Blanquet within swale and retention time was obtained from point that rainfall effluent enters into swale to the time that first outflow starts. Besides, correlation analysis was obtained using pearson correlation analysis method. As a result, it was shown that removal efficiency increases as retention time is longer in grassed swale and that retention time increases as vegetation coverage is higher.

Femtocells are envisioned as a key solution to embrace the ever-increasing high data rate and thus are extensively deployed. However, the dense and random deployments of femtocell access points (FAPs) induce severe intercell inference that in turn may degrade the performance of spectral efficiency. Hence, unrestrained proliferation of FAPs may not acquire a net throughput gain. Besides, given that numerous FAPs deployed in ultra-dense networks (UDNs) lead to significant energy consumption, the amount of FAPs deployed is worthy of more considerations. Nevertheless, little existing works present an analytical result regarding the optimal FAP density for a given User Equipment (UE) density. This paper explores the realistic scenario of randomly distributed FAPs in UDN and derives the coverage probability via Stochastic Geometry. From the analytical results, coverage probability is strictly increasing as the FAP-to-UE ratio increases, yet the growing rate of coverage probability decreases as the ratio grows. Therefore, we can consider a specific FAP-to-UE ratio as the point where further increasing the ratio is not cost-effective with regards to the requirements of communication systems. To reach the optimal FAP density, we can deploy FAPs in line with peak traffic and randomly switch off FAPs to keep the optimal ratio during off-peak hours. Furthermore, considering the unbalanced nature of traffic demands in the temporal and spatial domain, dynamically and carefully choosing the locations of active FAPs would provide advantages over randomization. Besides, with a huge FAP density in UDN, we have more potential choices for the locations of active FAPs and this adds to the demand for a strategic sleeping policy.
In many security monitoring contexts, the performance or efficiency of surveillance sensors/networks based on a single sensor type may be limited by environmental conditions, like illumination change. It is well known that different modes of sensors can be complementary, compensating for failures or limitations of individual sensor types. From a location analysis and modeling perspective, a challenge is how to locate different modes of sensors to support security monitoring. A coverage-based optimization model is proposed as a way to simultaneously site k different sensor types. This model considers common coverage among different sensor types as well as overlapping coverage for individual sensor types. The developed model is used to site sensors in an urban area. Computational results show that common and overlapping coverage can be modeled simultaneously, and a rich set of solutions exists reflecting the tradeoff between common and overlapping coverage.

Sensing coverage is a fundamental issue for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Several coverage configuration protocols have been developed; most of them presume the availability of precise knowledge about each node location via GPS receivers. However, equipping each sensor node with a GPS is very expensive in terms of both energy and cost. On the other hand, several GPS-less localization algorithms that aim at obtaining nodes locations with a low cost have been proposed. Although their deep correlation, sensing coverage and localization have long been treated separately. In this paper, we analyze, design and evaluate a novel integrated framework providing both localization and coverage guarantees for WSNs. We integrate the well-known Coverage Configuration Protocol CCP with an improved version of the localization algorithm AT-Dist. We enhanced the original specification of AT-Dist in order to guarantee the necessary localization accuracy required by CCP. In our proposed framework, a few number of nodes are assumed to know their exact positions and dynamically vary their transmission ranges. The remaining sensors positions are derived, as accurately as possible, using this little initial location information. All nodes positions (exact and derived) are then used as an input for the coverage module. Extensive simulation results show that, even with a very low anchor density, our proposal reaches the same performance and efficiency as the ideal CCP based on complete and precise knowledge of sensors coordinates.

Accurate predictions of software release times, and estimation of the reliability and availability of a software product require quantification of a critical element of the software testing process : test coverage. This model called Enhanced non-homogeneous poission process(ENHPP). In this paper, exponential coverage and S-shaped model was reviewed, proposes the Kappa coverage model, which maked out efficiency application for software reliability. Algorithm to estimate the parameters used to maximum likelihood estimator and bisection method, model selection based on SSE statistics and Kolmogorov distance, for the sake of efficient model, was employed. From the analysis of mission time, the result of this comparative study shows the excellent performance of Burr coverage model rather than exponential coverage and S-shaped model using NTDS data. This analysis of failure data compared with the Kappa coverage model and the existing model(using arithmetic and Laplace trend tests, bias tests) is presented.

In this paper, a new green clustering algorithm is proposed to be as a first approach in the framework of an energy efficient strategy for centralized enterprise high-density WLANs. Traditionally, in order to maintain the network coverage, all the APs within the WLAN have to be powered-on. Nevertheless, the new algorithm can power-off a large proportion of APs while the coverage is maintained as its always-on counterpart. The two main components of the new approach are the faster procedure based on K-means and the more accurate procedure based on Evolutionary Algorithm (EA), respectively. The two procedures are processes in parallel for different designed requirements and there is information interaction in between. In order to implement the new algorithm, EA is applied to handle the optimization of multiple objectives. Moreover, we adapt the method for selection and recombination, and then introduce a new operator for mutation. This paper also presents simulations in scenarios modeled with ray-tracing method and FDTD technique, and the results show that about 67% to 90% of energy consumption can be saved while it is able to maintain the original network coverage during periods when few users are online or the traffic load is low.

This paper presents advancement in multi- unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) cooperative area surveillance, focusing on optimizing UAV route planning through the application of genetic algorithms. Addressing the complexities of comprehensive coverage, two real-time dynamic path planning methods are introduced, leveraging genetic algorithms to enhance surveillance efficiency while accounting for flight constraints. These methodologies adapt multi-UAV routes by encoding turning angles and employing coverage-driven fitness functions, facilitating real-time monitoring optimization. The paper introduces a novel path planning model for scenarios where UAVs navigate collaboratively without predetermined destinations during regional surveillance. Empirical evaluations confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methods, showcasing improved coverage and heightened efficiency in multi-UAV path planning. Furthermore, we introduce innovative optimization strategies, (Foresightedness and Multi-step) offering distinct trade-offs between solution quality and computational time. This research contributes innovative solutions to the intricate challenges of cooperative area surveillance, showcasing the transformative potential of genetic algorithms in multi-UAV technology. By enabling smarter route planning, these methods underscore the feasibility of more efficient, adaptable, and intelligent cooperative surveillance missions.

Coverage-guided fuzzing is an efficient solution that has been widely used in software testing. By guiding fuzzers through the coverage information, seeds that generate new paths will be retained to continually increase the coverage. However, we observed that most samples follow the same few high-frequency paths. The seeds that exercise a high-frequency path are saved for the subsequent mutation process until the user terminates the test process, which directly affects the efficiency with which the low-frequency paths are tested. In this paper, we propose a fuzzing solution, ER-Fuzz, that truncates the recording of a high-frequency path to influence coverage. It utilizes a deep learning-based classifier to locate the high and low-frequency path transfer points; then, it instruments at the transfer position to promote the probability low-frequency transfer paths while eliminating subsequent variations of the high-frequency path seeds. We implemented a prototype of ER-Fuzz based on the popular fuzzer AFL and evaluated it on several applications. The experimental results show that ER-Fuzz improves the coverage of the original AFL method to different degrees. In terms of the number of crash discoveries, in the best case, ER-Fuzz found 115% more unique crashes than did AFL. In total, seven new bugs were found and new CVEs were assigned.
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless network consisting of spatially distributed autonomous devices, using sensors to cooperatively monitor physical or environmental conditions. WSNs face the critical challenge of sustaining long-term operation on limited battery energy. Coverage maintenance has been proposed as a promising approach to prolong network lifetime. Mobile sensors equipped with communication devices can be leveraged to overcome the coverage problem. In this paper, we propose a stepwise movement scheme using perimeter coverage property for the coverage maintenance problem. In our scheme, each sensor monitors neighboring dead nodes, determines vulnerable node (i.e. dead node which makes uncovered area), computes the center of uncovered area HC, and makes a coordinated stepwise movement to compensate the uncovered area. In our experimental results, our scheme shows at least 50 % decrease in the total moving distance which determines the energy efficiency of mobile sensor.
