Studies on Change of Logistics Concept and Introduction of 4PL

  • Purpose - According to the actual change of the logistics concept, the outsourcing activities of companies are actively progressing, and this is proceeding to third-party logistics and fourth-party logistics. This change in logistics situation raises the need for an in-depth understanding of four-party logistics. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, first of all, the theoretical aspects of changes in the logistics concept are identified, along with the outsourcing and third-party logistics. Finally, the concept of four-party logistics, the background of its introduction, and future prospects will be explored. Result - The meaning of physical distribution is now passing through the existing three-party logistics and entering the era of four-way logistics. In addition, cost reduction and improvement of customer service through advanced logistics strategy can be said to be the company's competitiveness. Through this study, it can be seen that the conceptual change of logistics and the introduction of four-party logistics are closely related to the survival of the company's deficit in the market. Conclusion - In modern society, logistical competitiveness is the competitiveness of a company, and logistical activities of a company can be achieved through the process of entering the four-party logistics from the existing third-party logistics based on outsourcing. Then more customer-oriented service can be provided.

  • 급변하는 기업의 생산 환경 속에서 기업들은 생존을 위한 품질 관리 전략을 도입하고 있다. 특히 LCD 산업의 경우, 잦은 경기 사이클 변화로 인한 투자위축, 제3의 경쟁자 출현으로 인해 어느 때보다도 경쟁우위 확보가 필요하다. 이런 상황을 극복하기 위한 방법 중에서 품질 코스트 시스템을 자사에 맞게 적용해야 하지만 LCD 산업의 경우 품질 코스트 시스템을 적극적으로 도입 및 활용하는 기업은 매우 적다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 주요 LCD 기업의 품질 코스트 시스템의 성공적 활용 요인을 분석 하였다. 분석 요인에 대하여 가중치 분석을 통해 중요도를 측정하고, 중요도 순위에 의해 LCD 산업에서 품질 코스트 시스템을 활용 및 효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • 국내 건설사업의 경쟁력은 국내적으로 수주감소 등으로 인하여 치열한 경쟁상황을 맞고 있으며, 국외적으로 건설선진국 뿐만 아니라 경쟁국가에도 경쟁력이 취약한 상태이다. 이를 극복하고 건설 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있는 방안이 제시되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 건설사업 단계별로 내재된 낭비요소를 제거하여, 비용절감효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 성과측정 방안을 실 사례를 통해 제시하여 향후 유사 건설사업의 성과측정을 위한 방향을 제시하였다.

도시철도에서의 적정 역간거리에 관한 연구 (A Study on Proper Station Spacing in Urban Railway)

  • Railway stations are important facilities for transport of passengers and freights. The location of station have an effect on the efficiency of railway transport and operation. In this study, an inspection of the primary factors for station spacing in urban railway has been performed and a review for the propriety of the present states and further improvement has been carried. It may be helpful for proper decisions on the route planning in urban railway. Primary factors for station spacing are 1)train capacity, 2)competitiveness with other transportation, 3)accessibility and 4)construction cost, which is out of consideration in the inspection. From the result of this study, the proper station spacing is about 600m for the accessibility, more over 1.03km for the train capacity and more over 1.4km for the competitiveness with other transportation.

  • The rapid design of the embedded system is crucial for improving the product’s competitiveness. Existing statechart tools used for designing the embedded system rely on the copy and paste of the statechart for reuse. However, such method has a major drawback of wasting both time and cost of the system developer. This paper implements the component supporting tool. A tool that makes efficient reuse of a statechart by adding a component function to the existing functions is implemented in this paper. Also, to add a component function, this paper restructured the contract as protocol of the inter-component. The implemented tool helps not only reduce the life cycle of a product, but also enhance a product’s competitiveness by supporting the product’s time-to-market.

  • With development of Asia's economy, the ports in trunk route have increased its handling capacity According to previous studies, main determinants to become hub-port are referred to location, connection inland transport with hinterland, port service availability and efficiency, cost of port handling, socio-economic stability and port information system etc. This study aims to investigate the changes in factors determine port's competitiveness particularly in Asian neighbor ports such as Hong Kong port and Shenzen port, and Singapore port and the Port of Tanjung Pelapas in Malaysia by comparing and analyzing main indicators relating to those ports. In conclusion, main reasons which gained competitiveness by newly developed ports such as Shenzen port and the Port of Tanjung Pelapas were port price and massive hinterland space offered.

  • Recently, It is being reduction to market of the domestic construction industry for the instability of the domestic market structure. So it is necessary to plan response measures for to ensure the competitiveness of the construction market of overseas. The purpose of the study is suggest of improvement of the project delivery system for the efficiency of the construction of the unit modular housing of considering the reducing cost and technological competitiveness of the domestic construction industry.

  • This study aims to analyze the correlation between semiconductor innovation and market dominance in the mobility electric vehicle industry. To this end, the study presentsstrategiesthat provide low-price competitiveness along with high-value creation in the electric vehicle and semiconductor markets. The first change in the era of high interest rates is to overcome the crisis of survival for value. Furthermore, the study acknowledges the ongoing second wave of change as the digital technology's value continues to rise, and companies experience decreased productivity due to rising ESG labor costs. The study analyzed price competitiveness in the context of the increased adoption of electric vehicles and the integration of semiconductor prices, proving that Tesla and Samsung Semiconductor have developed technology to dominate the market, with appropriate low-cost strategies applied as the value of innovation declines.

  • It is needed to develop on-line real time management and RFID-PPS(Radio Frequency Identification-Pallet Pool System) by putting information technology. Additionally, it is possible to figure out the flow of all the materials loaded on the RFID pallet; product, material, raw material immediately, so that epoch-making management is possible and it contributes to the reduction of logistics cost because there are little loss or outflow of pallet. The materials flow is getting speedy and inventory is decreasing in the logistics process, and also bad inventory and loss problems are prevented. As a result, not only logistics cost of company but also national logistics cost is decreased. Thus it contributes to the strength of national competitiveness.

Improvments in Cost Reduction for Vacuum Sintering and Vacuum and Overpressure Sintering for Tungsten Carbides

  • In all larger hardmetal workshops furnaces for dewaxing, vacuum sintering or vacuum and overpressure sintering are today's standard. The furnace technology is well established. Equipment specifications such as operating overpressure, determine sintering cost, product quality, safety and reliability of the furnace and ultimately influence the competitiveness of the hard metal procucer in the global market. Essential furnace requirements are an efficient utilization of the furnace, an environmental friendly dewaxing system, high temperature uniformity, metallurgical treatment with process gases, as well as reduced cooling time by means of rapid cooling. Examples of reduced sintering costs are described achieved using a new design of vacuum sintering furnace with an improved rapid cooling device, cooling times are reduced by up to 45%. Additionally, a cost comparison of two different designs of vacuum overpressure sintering furnaces are included.
