  • Oxygen enriched incineration can increase the incineration capacity for wastes and dramatically reduce air pollutant emissions such as CO and dioxine by the allowing complete combustion of wastes in incinerator. Furthermore, this technology is proven to have many benefits including an energy-saving, cost-effective, and versatile application for diverse wastes compared with the conventional air incineration technology. The reduced pollutant emissions in flue gas and higher incineration efficiency are also available when the oxygen enriched air is used for the high temperature incineration systems. On the basis of the experimental results the oxygen enrichment system is successfully applied to the rotary kiln incinerator for industrial wastes. The oxygen enriched incineration system could be allowed more compact design of incinerator and flue gas treatment system due to both increasing incineration capacity and reducing flue gas volume.   • 현재 많은 분야에서 IT 기반 기술의 급속한 발전을 이용하고 있다. 그 중 계속적인 발전을 보이고 있는 생명공학 분야의 기술과 정보기술의 한 형태로 바이오인포메틱스 분야에 많은 관심이 증가되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 바이오인포메틱스 의 분야에서 많은 사용자들이 이용해야하는 생명공학 기술과 데이터베이스 등을 이용하여 웹을 기반으로 하는 콘텐츠를 개발하는데 있어 핵심 기술들을 논하고자 한다. 이와 같은 BIT 관련된 콘텐츠 개발로 인해 현재 제한되어 있는 연구 환경을 개선하고 비용절감의 효과를 보일 수 있도록 한다.

  • The recent technical trend in hot rolling of steel can be described as process and product technologies which have been progressed with modern mill equipment and computers. Precise gauge and width control can be achieved by up-to-date control methods such as AGC and AWC systems. Roll benders and various shape control systems enabled high quality flatness and crown control. Mills can produce higher tensile materials by new process based on process metallurgy. The use of high speed steel rolls and on line roll grinders make the schedule free rolling easier which results in cost saving. Process itself goes toward continuous and simple flow type which has lower operation. Endless rolling and strip casting are examples of the trend. Materials with higher tensile strength and various functions have been developed in last years to meet the customer's needs and this trend will continue.

Optimization of Heat Exchanger Network in the Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage Process Integration

  • The Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) process is an enhanced method to extract oil from bitumen which involves surface and central process facilities. This paper describes the Central Process Facilities (CPF) of SAGD and proposes several retrofit plans to the Heat Exchanger Network (HEN). In this approach, the process integration scheme is applied to estimate the energy saving in HENs, and various cases are modeled in favor of a commercial simulator. Throughout this work, a minimum approach temperature of 10℃ is assumed. The results reveal that, due to the HEN optimization using process integration, the heating and cooling duties can be reduced to 29.68MW and 1.886MW, respectively. Compared with the Husky case, all cases considered in this study indicate a potential reduction of at least 6% in total cost, including investment and operation costs.

CMP 슬러리 연마제의 재활용에 대한 연구 (A Study on the recycle of CMP Slurry Abrasives)

  • Recently, CMP (Chemical mechanical polishing) technology has been widely used for global planarization of multi-level interconnection for ULSI applications. However, COO (cost of ownership) and COC (cost of consumables) were relatively increased because of expensive slurry. In this paper, we have studied the possibility of recycle of reused silica slurry in order to reduce the costs of CMP slurry. Also, we have collected the silica abrasive powders by filtering after subsequent CMP process for the purpose of abrasive particle recycling. And then, we annealed the collected abrasive powders to promote the mechanical strength of reduced abrasion force. Finally, we compared the CMP characteristics between self-developed KOH-based silica abrasive slurry and original slurry. As our experimental results, we obtained the comparable removal rate and good planarity with commercial products. Consequently, we can expect the saving of high cost slurry.

계층적 이동 IP 네트워크에서의 비용 효율적인 IP 페이징 기법 (A Cost-Effective IP Paging Scheme for Hierarchical Mobile IP Networks)

  • IP 기반의 이동 네트워크에서 페이징 메커니즘을 IP 계층에서 처리하는 기술(즉, IP 페이징)은 이동 단말의 전력 소모와 위치 등록 시그널링 부하를 감소시켜주며, 이기종 무선 액세스 기술들을 지원하는 것을 가능하게 한다. 그러나, 통신이 매우 빈번한 환경 하에서는 증가하는 페이징 시그널링 부하와 잦은 페이징 지연으로 인하여 오히려 IP 페이징의 사용은 역효과를 초래할 수도 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는, 이러한 IP 페이징의 문제점을 해결하고자, 이동 단말이 자신의 프로파일 정보에 기반하여 선택적인 위치 등록 및 페이징을 수행할 수 있도록 하는 비용 효율적인 IP 페이징 기법을 제안한다. 성능 평가 결과, 제안 기법은 IP 기반의 계층적 이동 네트워크에서 상당한 정도의 페이징 시그널링 부하와 잦은 페이징 지연을 감소시킬 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

Factors Affecting Adoption of Industry 4.0 by Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises: A Case in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

  • The fourth industrial revolution has attracted much academic attention in these past few years. However, research on systematic and extensive factors affecting adoption of Industry 4.0 by SMEs in developing countries, especially in Vietnam, has been unavailable. This study aims to explore the impact of factors that influence the actual adoption of Industry 4.0 by SMEs in Ho Chi Minh City. Mixed-method research was utilized in this study including in-depth interviews of 12 participants and quantitative research of 396 respondents who are representative of SMEs by both online and via paper surveys. The SPSS and SmartPLS 3 software were employed to help analyze the collected data. The results indicate that perceived development of the human resource, perceived on-time, perceived saving cost, perceived improve product quality, perceived saving time, perceived ease-of-use, business resources, and conditions of the business environment, perceived usefulness, perceived enhanced customer relationship, and adoption intention, all have a positive significant effect on actual adoption of Industry 4.0. The results seem to suggest that managerial efforts aimed at increasing the factors' perceptions of adoption of Industry 4.0 and personal relevance of the technology will contribute to implementation success, where success is defined as effectual usage of the Industry 4.0.

가변단면 압출기 개발 및 응용 연구 (Development of CNC Extruder for Variable Cross-Section Extrusion Process and its Applied Research)

  • Resource and energy saving is a very important practice for the future as well as for today. Weight saving of structural parts, which are formed by extrusion, plays a key role in manufacturing field. The cross-sections of extruded parts with industrial aluminum are constant in the axial direction by conventional extrusion method. Especially, these aluminum parts used and manufactured in the car industry need other processes to vary the cross-section in the axial direction. However, applications of these parts are often limited by high cost. If the cross-section of the parts is variable by only extrusion with newly developed method, the application of extruded aluminum parts will actually increase. Therefore, a new CNC extruder that can control the section area of a car part was invented for the first time in the nation. Using the extrusion machine, the experiment was performed to validate its workability during the variable section extrusion process. Also, numerical analysis was carried out to investigate the flow mode with different speeds of main ram and various pocket shapes of a die-set in the variable section extrusion process.

샌드위치 복합재 철도차량 루프구조물의 구조 안전성 평가 및 제작기술 연구 (A Study on Manufacturing Technology and Evaluation of the Structural Integrity of a Sandwich Composite Train Roof Structure)

  • We have evaluated the structural integrity of a sandwich composite train roof structure that can be a lightweight, cost saving solution to large structural components for rail vehicles in design stages. The sandwich composite train roof structure was 11.45 meters long and 1.76 meters wide. The finite element analysis was used to calculate the stresses, deflections and natural frequencies of the sandwich composite train roof against the weight of air-conditioned system. The 3D sandwich finite element model was introduced to examine the structural behavior of the hollow aluminum extrusion frames joined to both sides of the sandwich composite train roof. The results shown that the structural performance of the sandwich composite train roof under loading conditions specified is satisfaction and the use of aluminum reinforced frame and aluminum honeycomb core is beneficial with regard to weight saving and structural performance in comparison with steel reinforced frame and polyurethane foam core. Also, we have manufactured prototype of sandwich composite train roof structure on the basis of analysis results.

복합재 태양광 무인기 날개 일체성형 제작기법 연구 (A Study on Manufacturing Methods of Cocuring Composite Wings of Solar-Powered UAV)

  • In order to suggest the optimal manufacturing technology of composite wings of solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicles, this study compared forming technologies to reduce wing weight for long-endurance flight and to improve the manufacturing process for cost-saving and mass production. It compared the manufacturing time and weight of various composite wing molding technologies, including cocuring, secondary bonding, and manufacturing by balsa. As a result, wing weight was reduced through cocuring methods such as band type composite fiber/tape lamination technology, which enabled prolonged flight duration. In addition, the reduced manufacturing time led to a lower cost, which is a good example of weight lightening for not only small solar-powered UAVs, but also composite aircraft.
