SA508 탄소강 및 오스테나이트 스테인리스강의 표면잔류응력에 미치는 기계가공효과 (Effects on Machining on Surface Residual Stress of SA 508 and Austenitic Stainless Steel)

  • 원자력발전소의 이종용접부에서 일차응력부식균열이 발생하고 있으며 용접부의 잔류응력이 균열발생 및 성장에 기여할 수 있다. 용접부의 잔류응력은 기본적으로 용접에 의해 형성되지만 기계가공에 의해 표면잔류 응력상태가 변화할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기계가공이 원전재료인 SA508과 오스테나이트 스테인리스강에 표면잔류응력에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 SA508, TP304, F316L 재료를 연마, 연삭, 방전가공으로 가공한 후 표면에 형성되는 잔류응력을 측정하였다. 측정방법은 구멍뚫기법과 엑스선회절법을 사용하였다. 기계가공방법에 따라 각 재료에 미치는 잔류응력의 크기 및 방향, 잔류응력이 형성되는 깊이 등의 특성을 확인하였다.

Effect of fiber type and content on properties of high-strength fiber reinforced self-consolidating concrete

  • Effects of polypropylene (PP) fibers, steel fibers (SF) and hybrid on the properties of highstrength fiber reinforced self-consolidating concrete (HSFR-SCC) under different volume contents are investigated in this study. Comprehensive laboratory tests were conducted in order to evaluate both fresh and hardened properties of HSFR-SCC. Test results indicated that the fiber types and fiber contents greatly influenced concrete workability but it is possible to achieve self consolidating properties while adding the fiber types in concrete mixtures. Compressive strength, dynamic modulus of elasticity, and rigidity of concrete were affected by the addition as well as volume fraction of PP fibers. However, the properties of concrete were improved by the incorporation of SF. Splitting tensile and flexural strengths of concrete became increasingly less influenced by the inclusion of PP fibers and increasingly more influenced by the addition of SF. Besides, the inclusion of PP fibers resulted in the better efficiency in the improvement of toughness than SF. Furthermore, the inclusion of fibers did not have significant effect on the durability of the concrete. Results of electrical resistivity, chloride ion penetration and ultrasonic pulse velocity tests confirmed that HSFR-SCC had enough endurance against deterioration, lower chloride ion penetrability and minimum reinforcement corrosion rate.

플라이애쉬 치환율을 고려한 콘크리트의 내구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Concrete Durability by Fly Ash Replacement Ratio)

  • 내구성은 콘크리트 구조물의 안전성과 경제성에 직접적으로 연관되므로 매우 중요한 사항인데, 최근 들어 콘크리트의 내구성에 사회적, 공학적 관심이 집중되면서 이에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 콘크리트의 염해나 탄산화, 동결융해 등의 열화요인은 독립적이 아닌 복합적인 형태로 작용하게 되는데, 이러한 열화현상을 저감하는 한 방편으로 사용하는 플라이 애쉬는 콘크리트 혼화재 중에서 사용빈도가 매우 높다. 또한 플라이 애쉬는 유동성 증진을 통한 내구성의 향상과, 수화열 저감을 통한 균열감소 및 장기강도 증진 등의 효과가 있으며, 시멘트를 대체하여 결합재로서 경제적인 효과를 유발하는 장점도 가지고 있다. 그러나 플라이 애쉬는 그 품질의 편차가 크고, 경우에 따라서 미연 탄소분에 의한 AE제 흡착 등으로 인하여 콘크리트의 내구성 및 강도를 저하시킬 수 있는 요소를 내포하고 있으므로 사용 시 주의가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 치환율의 플라이 애쉬를 혼입한 콘크리트를 경화 전후에 특성실험을 한 다음, 그 결과를 분석 고찰함으로써 열화를 저감하고, 내구성을 갖는 콘크리트를 제조하기 위하여 혼화재 및 결합재로서의 적용성 및 타당성을 검증하고자 한다.

The advancing techniques and sputtering effects of oxide films fabricated by Stationary Plasma Thruster (SPT) with Ar and $O_2$ gases

  • The usage of a stationary plasma thruster (SPT) ion source, invented previously for space application in Russia, in experiments with surface modifications and film deposition systems is reported here. Plasma in the SPT is formed and accelerated in electric discharge taking place in the crossed axial electric and radial magnetic fields. Brief description of the construction of specific model of SPT used in the experiments is presented. With gas flow rate 39ml/min, ion current distributions at several distances from the source are obtained. These was equal to 1~3 mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ within an ion beam ejection angle of $\pm$20$^{\circ}$with discharge voltage 160V for Ar as a working gas. Such an extremely high ion current density allows us to obtain the Ti metal films with deposition rate of $\AA$/sec by sputtering of Ti target. It is shown a possibility of using of reactive gases in SPT (O2 and N2) along with high purity inert gases used for cathode to prevent the latter contamination. It is shown the SPT can be operated at the discharge and accelerating boltages up to 600V. The results of presented experiments show high promises of the SPT in sputtering and surface modification systems for deposition of oxide thin films on Si or polymer substrates for semiconductor devices, optical coatings and metal corrosion barrier layers. Also, we have been tried to establish in application of the modeling expertise gained in electric and ionic propulsion to permit numerical simulation of additional processing systems. In this mechanism, it will be compared with conventional DC sputtering for film microstructure, chemical composition and crystallographic considerations.

복합재료 패널로 보강된 철근 콘크리트 보의 휨 실험 (Experiment on Flexural Analysis of RC Beams Strengthened with Composite Material Panel)

  • 본 논문은 복합재료 패널로 보강된 철근 콘크리트 보의 휨 실험과 해석을 통하여 패널의 보강효과에 대하여 알아보고자 한다. FRP 복합재료 패널은 전통적인 재료인 강재와 콘크리트에 비해 단위 무게당 강도 및 강성이 크고 부식에 대한 높은 저항성, 절연성, 고내구성 및 낮은 열전도성 등 우수한 물성으로 유지관리 측면에서 매우 유리하여 최근 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 범용 유한요소 해석 프로그램인 ABAQUS를 이용하여 복합재료 패널로 보강된 철근 콘크리트 보의 극한 하중을 예측하고 실험을 수행하여 그 보강효과에 대한 고찰하였다. 복합재료 패널은 복합재료 패널 층의 유리섬유직조 형태에 따라 LT, DB, DBT로 구분하고 복합재료 패널의 층 개수에 따라 2ply, 3ply로 구분하였다. 실험을 수행한 결과, 해석과 일치하였으며 복합재료 패널로 보강한 철근 콘크리트 보가 극 한강도 측면에서 효율적이었다는 결론도 얻었다.

치과 도재용착 주조관용 비귀금속 합금의 반복주조가 기계적 특성 및 미세조직에 미치는 영향 (A Study on How Cyclic Casting of Base Metal Alloy for Dental Ceramic Crown May Effects upon Its Mechanical Properties and Microstructure)

  • Using a nickel-chrome casting alloy called 'Rexillium V' which is also available as base metal alloy for dental ceramic crown, 4 types of mixtures(A, B, C, D) with old and new metal were prepared for cyclic casting. The results of cyclic casting can be outlined as follows: 1. For Vickers hardness after casting, specimen A and D tended to have lower hardness in the course of cyclic casting, while specimen B and C tended to higher hardness. 2. The results of X-ray diffraction analysis showed that major crystal phase contained nickelchrome compounds and carbide. 3. The observation results of SEM photographs after cyclic casting show that there was a significant tendency to have similar structures among experimental groups. 4. The results of EDX analysis after cyclic casting showed that there were little differences in chemical composition between parent metal and base metal alloy. Although industrial nickel-chrome cast alloy did not show any significant change in material properties even through cyclic casting over several times, it is recommended that more there be more in-depth studies on how to detect any potential corrosion, discoloration and toxication of dental ceramic crown implanted in patient's oral cavity.

천연 다당류 먼지포집제를 이용한 지하철 터널 내 PM10 제어에 대한 연구 (A Study on PM10 Control in Subway Tunnels Using Natural Polysaccharide Dust Collecting Agent)

  • Objectives: Most of the $PM_{10}$ in subway stations is spread by the train-induced wind from the tunnels. Therefore, in order to improve air quality in subway stations, it is important to remove the $PM_{10}$ from the tunnels. After the installation of PSD (platform screen doors), the influence of train-induced wind and $PM_{10}$ at the platform has decreased, but is estimated to have increased in subway tunnels. This study was conducted to investigate the control of $PM_{10}$ in subway tunnels by applying a 500-fold diluted solution mixed with a humectant using a natural polymer. Methods: For this purpose, we tested the dust reduction effect in a laboratory and corrosion test and water pollution using fish and aquatic plants for the natural dust collecting agent. In the tunnel of a subway station, we used the natural dust collecting agent over 15 days. The study was carried out on $PM_{10}$ control during operation, which accounts for more than 70% of subway dust. Results: As results, the natural dust collecting agent exhibited an excellent dust control effect, and it was safe for water quality and soil. It showed the effect of controlling $PM_{10}$ in the subway tunnel by 49.5- 64.7% over 15 days. The use of the dust collecting agent for the control of $PM_{10}$ could be confirmed in the subway. Conclusion: It is necessary to clearly explain the major portions of chemical components contained in $PM_{10}$ to figure out the characteristics of $PM_{10}$ and to develop effective reduction measures to decrease the adverse effects of $PM_{10}$ in the subway.

EGR시스템 디젤기관의 실린더 및 피스톤 마모에 미치는 재순환 배기의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influences of Recirculated Exhaust Gas upon Wear of Cylinder and Piston in Diesel Engines with EGR System)

  • The effects of recirculated exhaust gas on the wear of cylinder liner piston and piston rings have been investigated by the experiment with a two-cylinder four cycle indirect injection diesel engine operating at 75% load and 1600 rpm speed For the purpose of comparison between the rates of two cylinders with and without EGR the recirculated exhaust gas is sucked into one of two cylinders after the soot among exhaust emissions is removed by an intntionally designed cylinder-type scrubber equipped with 6 water injectors(A water injector has 144 nozzles of 1.0 mm diame-ter) while only the fresh air into another cylinder. These experiments are carried out on the fuel injection at a fixed $15.3^{\circ}$ BTDC timing. It is found that firstly the mean wear amount of cylinder liner with EGR is more increased in the measurement positions of the second half than of the first half and the mean wear amount without EGR is almost uniform regardless of measurement posi-tions secondly the wear rates of the first and second piston ring(compression ring)thickness with EGR are more than twice but the wear rate of oil ring thickness without EGR is more increased than that with EGR and finally the wear rate of piston skirt with EGR is a little bit increased but the piston hed diameter is rather increased owing to soot adhesion and corrosion wear and espe-cially larger with EGR.

320℃에서의 인코넬 합금의 프레팅 피로 거동 평가에 관한 연구 (Evaluation of Fretting Fatigue Behavior for Inconel Alloy at 320℃)

  • 원자력 발전설비의 증기발생기용 세관 재료로 인코넬 합금이 사용되고 있다. 인코넬 합금은 고니켈과 크롬의 합금으로 고온에서 내부식성이 뛰어난 특성을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 인코넬 600 과 690 합금에 대해 실제 원전의 운전온도, 즉 $320^{\circ}C$가 프레팅 피로 거동에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구해보았다. 그 결과 $320^{\circ}C$에서의 단순 피로한도와 프레팅 피로한도가 상온에서의 단순 및 프레팅 피로한도에 비해 다소 저하하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 아울러 하중 반복회수와 마찰력의 변화 특성도 얻었다. 또한 파단면을 전자현미경으로 관찰하여 프레팅 피로기구도 검토해 보았다. 이와 같은 결과는 실제 운전온도에서 프레팅을 받는 증기발생기의 구조건전성 평가에 활용 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

Reliability analysis of proposed capacity equation for predicting the behavior of steel-tube concrete columns confined with CFRP sheets

  • Due to higher stiffness to weight, higher corrosion resistance, higher strength to weight ratios and good durability, concrete composite structures provide many advantages as compared with conventional materials. Thus, they have wide applications in the field of concrete construction. This research focuses on the structural behavior of steel-tube CFRP confined concrete (STCCC) columns under axial concentric loading. A nonlinear finite element analysis (NLFEA) model of STCCC columns was simulated using ABAQUS which was then, calibrated for different material and geometric models of concrete, steel tube and CFRP material using the experimental results from the literature. The comparative study of the NLFEA predictions and the experimental results indicated that the proposed constitutive NLFEA model can accurately predict the structural performance of STCCC columns. After the calibration of NLFEA model, an extensive parametric study was performed to examine the effects of different critical parameters of composite columns such as; (i) unconfined concrete strength, (ii) number of CFRP layers, (iii) thickness of steel tube and (iv) concrete core diameter, on the axial load capacity. Furthermore, a large database of axial strength of 700 confined concrete compression members was developed from the previous researches to give an analytical model that predicts the ultimate axial strength of composite columns accurately. The comparison of the predictions of the proposed analytical model was done with the predictions of 216 NLFEA models from the parametric study. A close agreement was represented by the predictions of the proposed constitutive NLFEA model and the analytical model.
