FSIG 풍력발전의 특성개선을 위한 DFIG의 협조 전압제어 (Coordinated Voltage Control of DFIG to Overcome Shortcomings of FSIG in Wind Turbine System)

  • At present, the widely used wind power generators in the whole world are fixed speed induction generator (FSIG) and doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The models of FSIG and DFIG wind power generation system connected with the grid are built, and their steady-state and transient characteristics are studied. A new coordinated control strategy using both the grid and rotor side converters of DFIG for voltage regultation and reactive power support is put forword to improve the steady-state and transient performance of the FSIG in the case of DFIG in parallel with FSIG.

  • This paper presents a coordinated control scheme of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind power plant (WPP) to suppress the overvoltage after a fault clearance. To achieve this, the variation of the terminal voltage at a fault clearance is captured and used to DFIG and WPP controllers. As a result, DFIGs within a WPP suppress the overvoltage rapidly by reducing the reactive power injection. The performance of the proposed scheme was investigated for a 100 MW WPP consisting of 20 units of 5 MW DFIGs for a grid fault. The results show the proposed scheme successfully suppresses the overvoltage at the point of interconnection.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve robot motion control in teaching and operating the expert system/world coordinate system (TOES/WCS) constructed in the previous study. The major contribution of this study is reduction of the inaccuracy in coordinated reading and the movement time of robots in macro motion control. This study also reduces undesirable time of micro motion control by using an unit control (UC) and a micro unit control (MUC) in micro motion control.

  • A microgrid is an aggregation of multiple distributed generators (DGs) such as renewable energy sources, conventional generators, and energy storage systems that provide both electric power and thermal energy. Generally, a microgrid operates in parallel with the main grid. However, there are cases in which a microgrid operates in islanded mode, or in a disconnected state. Islanded microgrid can change its operational mode to grid-connected operation by reconnection to the grid, which is referred to as synchronization. Generally, a single machine simply synchronizes with the grid using a synchronizer. However, the synchronization of microgrid that operate with multiple DGs and loads cannot be controlled by a traditional synchronizer, but needs to control multiple generators and energy storage systems in a coordinated way. This is not a simple job, considering that a microgrid consists of various power electronics-based DGs as well as alternator-based generators that produce power together. This paper introduces the results of research examining an active synchronizing control system that consists of the network-based coordinated control of multiple DGs. Consequently, it provides the microgrid with a deterministic and reliable reconnection to the grid. The proposed method is verified by using the test cases with the experimental setup of a microgrid pilot plant.

A Fuzzy BOXES Scheme for the Cartpole Control

  • Two fuzzy controllers are coordinated to control a cartpole such that the pole is balanced as well as the cart is brought back to the track origin. The coordination is due to the BOXES scheme that is established through the evaluation of the outcomes of the control action by one of the fuzzy controllers. It is found that the control scheme is good at selecting proper fuzzy controller so that the pole is balanced fast while the cart moves back to the track origin steadily.

  • 본 논문은 셀간 간섭을 제어하여 셀 경계 사용자의 데이터 전송율을 증가시키는 기술인 소프트 주파수 재사용시 전력 할당에 관한 것이다. 소프트 주파수 재사용 기술은 셀 경계 사용자의 데이터 전송율을 개선하는데 유용한 기술이나 주파수 재사용 지수가 증가되어 셀 평균 데이터 전송율을 감소시키는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 하나의 중앙 제어기가 물리적 거리가 인접한 여러 개의 셀을 제어하는 환경에서, 셀 경계 사용자의 데이터 전송율 개선하면서도 셀 평균 전송율 감소를 최소화하도록 소프트 주파수 재사용을 위한 송신 전력 할당 기법을 제안한다. 시스템 시뮬레이션을 통하여 인접한 두 셀에 소프트 주파수 재사용 기술을 적용하여 소프트 주파수 재사용에 의한 셀 평균 데이터 전송율 감소 정도와 제안하는 전력 할당 기법에 의한 셀 평균 데이터 전송을 개선을 살펴본다.

  • As penetration level of Distributed Generations (DGs) on weak distribution networks gets higher, voltage rise problem can often occur due to reverse power which is not expected in conventional distribution networks. It, however, cannot be effectively solved by using conventional voltage regulating devices such as On-Load Tap Changers (OLTCs), Step Voltage Regulators (SVRs) because those do not consider the presence of DGs when determining relevant setting parameter for voltage regulation. This paper presents a scheme for voltage regulation using coordinated control between OLTC and DGs which can actively participate in the regulation. The scheme decides which device should be operated first based on the characteristics of regulating devices, in order to prevent unnecessary operation of output changes of DG and excessive tap changing operation of OLTC. Computer simulations considering daily irradiation of PV and load curve are performed by using MATLAB Simulink and performance comparison between the presented scheme and conventional ones is also made. It can be concluded from simulation results that the scheme presented is very effective to regulate voltages in distribution networks with multiple DGs.

Wi-SUN에서 비동기 CSL 모드 MAC의 전력소모 분석 (Power Consumption Analysis of Asynchronous CSL mode MAC in Wi-SUN)

  • 근래에 와서 유틸리티들을 무선으로 원격제어 하는 스마트 팩토리 무선 이동 통신 기술에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. Wi-SUN(Wireless Smart Utility Network) 얼라이언스에서는 EEE802.15.4g/e에 기반한 새로운 무선통신 표준화 규격으로 스마트팩토리와 같은 플랫폼 구축에 적합한 Wi-SUN 프로토콜 구조를 제시하였다. IEEE802.15.4e의 CSL(Coordinated Sampled Listening) 모드 MAC(Media Access Control)의 전력소모 측면의 성능을 분석하고 효율적 운용을 위한 고려 사항을 살펴본다. CSL-MAC은 비동기 방식으로 수신단에서 전력소모를 획기적으로 줄일 수는 있지만 송신단에서는 과도한 웨이크업시퀀스로 전력소모가 발생하는 단점을 가지는 것을 알 수 있었다.
