활성탄소섬유의 미세기공 특성화 (Characterization of the Microporosity of Activated Carbon Fiber)

  • The adsorption of nitrogen (77K) and carbon dioxide(273K) was performed on a series of activated carbon fiber. Theadsorption iotherm of nitrogen was typical type 1 and that of carbon dioxide was convex. As the specific surface area increases, there are linear increases in BET constant C mean pore diameter, the width of pore size distribution, wide micropore volume, total micropore volume, total pore volume and external surface area, however, narrow micropore volume was nealy constant . The total micorpore volume fraction in total pore volume is above 97%.

아연도금 강판의 대기부식에 미치는 표면 거칠기의 영향 (Effects of Surface Roughness on Atmospheric Corrosion of Galvanized Steel Sheets)

  • The effects of surface roughness on chromate conversion coating and the corrosion behavior of galvanized steel sheets were investigated. Surface roughness was differently given to the galvanized steel sheets tested and these were then chromated. Accelerated corrosion test was conducted under the condition of $30^{\circ}C$, 90%RH with flowing 200ppm $SO_2$ gas. The galvanized steels were also exposed to urban environment for 5 weeks. The corrosion rates were measured by weight gain method. The distribution of chromate film and corrosion product on the coating were examined which SEM/EDS. The chromate film formed preferentially at the convex sites rather than at the concave sites on the surface. The corrosion products were found at the concave sites where the chromate film formed rarely. The corrosion product on the coating were found at the concave sites where the chromate film formed rarely. The corrosion rates increased slightly with the surface roughness in accelerated corrosion test but significantly in field test.

Wear Mechanism of Tube Fretting Affected by Support Shapes

  • A fretting wear experiment in roam temperature air was performed to evaluate the wear mechanism of fuel rod using a fretting wear tester, which has been developed for experimental study, The main focus was to compare the wear behaviors of fuel rod against support springs with different contact contours (i.e. concave and convex). Wear volume, degree or surface hardening and adhesion tendency of wear particle were examined by the surface roughness tester. The result indicated that with a change of contact condition from contact force of 5 N to 0.1 mm gap, the wear volume of tube increased in the condition of concave spring, but slowly decreased in convex spring. From the results of SEM observation, wear mechanism of each test condition was also dependent on the spring shapes. The wear mechanism of each test condition in room temperature air is discussed.

  • Domain mapping is a bijective transformation of one domain to another, usually from a complicated general domain to a chosen convex domain. This is directly useful in many application problems like shape modeling, morphing, texture mapping, shape matching, remeshing, path planning etc. A new approach considering the domain as made up of structural elements, like membranes or trusses, is developed and implemented using the nonlinear finite element formulation. The mapping is performed in two stages, boundary mapping and inside mapping. The boundary of the 3-D domain is mapped to the surface of a convex domain (in this case, a sphere) in the first stage and then the displacement/distortion of this boundary is used as boundary conditions for mapping the interior of the domain in the second stage. This is a general method and it develops a bijective mapping in all cases with judicious choice of material properties and finite element analysis. The consistent global parameterization produced by this method for an arbitrary genus zero closed surface is useful in shape modeling. Results are convincing to accept this finite element structural approach for domain mapping as a good method for many purposes.

  • Thermocapillary convection in an open cylindrical annulus heated from the inside wall is investigated by two-dimensional numerical simulations. The deformable free surface is obtained as a solution of the coupled transport equations at fixed Prandtl and aspect ratio. Only steady convection can be realized in this axisymmetric computations with either non-deformable or deformable surfaces. Dynamic free-surface deformations do not induce transitions to oscillatory convection even at large Reynolds numbers. Free surfaces are convex near the cold wall due to the stagnation point, and concave near the hot wall. Free surface deformation increases with increasing Ca at a fixed Re. Two peaks appear at the free surface with low Re, while additional ripples, four peaks, occur at larger Re. Thermocapillary convection in the open annulus interior is insensitive to variations in Ca.

광선 슈팅 문제를 위한 볼록 레이어 트리 (A Convex Layer Tree for the Ray-Shooting Problem)

  • 광선 슈팅 문제는 주어진 기하 객체들에 대해서 직선을 따라서 이동하는 광선이 처음으로 부딪히는 객체의 점을 찾는 문제이다. 광선은 보통 질의의 형태로 주어지기 때문에, 이 문제의 일반적인 해법은 다음과 같다. 먼저, 전처리 과정으로, 주어진 객체들에 대한 자료구조를 구축한다. 그 다음, 이 자료구조를 이용하여 각 질의에 대한 답을 빠르게 구한다. 본 논문에서는 x축 상에 놓인 수직 선분들 집합에 대한 광선 슈팅 문제를 고려한다. 본 논문에서는 입력으로 주어진 n개의 수직 선분들에 대해 볼록 레이어 트리라고 부르는 새로운 자료구조를 제시한다. 이것은 수직 선분들의 볼록 외피들의 레이어로 구성되는 이진 트리이다. 이 트리는 O(n log n) 시간과 O(n) 공간의 알고리즘으로 구축되며 구현이 용이하다. 또한 이 자료구조를 사용하여 각 질의를 O(log n) 시간에 수행하는 알고리즘을 제시한다.

배추흰나비 복안의 각막 형성 (Corneal Formation of the Compound Eye in Pieris rapae L.)

  • The corneal formation of compound eye of Pieris rapae L., which was mostly made during pupal stage, was morphologically investigated with light microscope, scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope. The regeneration of the microvilli were found on the surface membranes of corneagen cells and retinular pigment cells of preommatidium after apolysis pupal cuticle. The microvilli were finally differentiated to corneal nipples of the ommatidium. The corneal cuticle was generated on the superficial layer of the preommatidium from corneagen cells and retinular pigment cells. The corneal process was also formed under the cuticular layer from the corneagen cells. The pore canal was appeared within the cuticular layer and connected with the retinular pigment cell as if the root of interommatidial hair was connected. The interommatidial hair was projected randomly among the ommatidial facets and cornal nipple was arrayed regular on the ommatidial facets. The cornea was convex lens and the refracting power by its convex shape was 4 diopter.

  • 중재적 시술을 위한 자기공명영상(MRI)용 주자석은 수직 자계를 가지는 경우가 대부분인데 본 논문에서는 수직 자계를 발생하는 주자석에 장착할 수 있는 볼록형 경사자계코일을 소개하였다. 중재적 시술에 필요한 고속 촬영을 하기 위해서는 강한 경사자계 및 낮은 코일 인덕턱스가 필요한데 본 논문에서는 이를 효율적으로 실현하기 위해 경사자계코일을 볼록 곡면 위에 실현하였다. 기존 방법에서처럼 평면 위에 경사자계코일을 실현하지 않고 볼록 곡면 위에 실현함으로써 경사자계코일의 자계 강도 특성 및 코일 인덕턱스 특성을 향상시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 중재적 시술을 위한 경사자계코일 내 공간을 충분히 확보할 수 있다. Prolate spheroid 좌표계에서 표현되는 경사자계코일 면을 정의하였고, 유한요소법을 이용한 볼록형 경사자계코일 설계 방법을 기술하였다. 또한 경사자계코일 면의 곡률에 따라 경사자계코일의 성능이 어떻게 변화하는지에 대한 결과를 제시하였다.

엄밀한 광선추적법에 의한 푸리에변환 holographic kinoform의 분석 (Analysis of Fourier-transform Holographic Kinoforms Using Exact Ray Tracing)

  • 1차원 telecentric paraxial holographic kinoform을 푸리에변환 렌즈로 사용하는 경우에 있어서, 3가지 표면양각형태, 즉 평면-볼록면, 블록면-평면, 좌우대칭 불록면에 대하여 스넬의 법칙을 기반으로 하는 엄밀한 광성추적법을 적용하여 분석하였다. kinoform은 F/8, 초점거리 15mm이며 kinoform과 그 주변 매질의 굴절율을 변화시키므로써 zone수와 두께 그리고 포물면의 경사도를 변화시켰다. 일반적으로 좌우대칭 볼록면 형태가 가장 좋은 성능을 갖는 것으로 나타났고, 모든 경우에 있어서 포물면의 경사도가 증가함에 따라 입사각의 증가에 따른 성능이 저하되었다.
