Design of Extended Terminal Sliding Mode Control Systems (확장된 터미널 슬라이딩 모드 제어기의 설계)

  • The terminal sliding mode control schemes have been studied a lot since they can guarantee that the state error gets to zero in a finite time. However, the conventional terminal sliding surfaces have been designed using power function whose exponent is a rational number between 0 and 1, and whose numerator and denominator should be odd integers. It is clearly restrictive. Thus, in this paper, we propose a novel terminal sliding surface using power function whose exponent can be a real number between 0 and 1.

Development of docking system using laste slit beam (LSB를 이용한 Docking System 개발)

  • The major movement block of the containers is range between apron and designation points on yard in container terminal. The yard tractor operated by human takes charge of it's movement in conventional container terminal. In unmanned container terminal, UCT(unmanned container transporter) has charge of the yard tractor's role and the navigation path is ordered from upper level control system. The unmanned container terminal facilities must have docking system that guided landing line to have high speed travelling and precision positioning in unmanned container terminal. The general method for docking uses the vision system with CCD camera, infra red, and laser. This paper describes the investigation for the developed docking method in view point of merit and demerit and introduces 속 result of developing the docking system with LSB(laser slit beam).

  • Automated container terminals have been being developed over the world for recent years and many countries are interested in it because the amount of containers exported or imported is rapidly increasing. The conventional container terminals were not designed to control this kind of heavily many containers. They would face many structural problems soon or later, although they have managed to do well so far. One of the most important things in developing automated container terminal is to develop the equipment able to handle many containers efficiently. Those are maybe automated transfer cranes, automatic guided vehicles, and automated quay-side cranes. The word 'automated' means the equipment is operated without drivers and those equipments are able to work without any interruption in working schedule. Through the researches on the conventional transfer cranes, we decided that the structure of the conventional transfer cranes is not efficient in automated container terminal and it's not possible to handle so many containers in limited time. Therefore we have been studying on the proper structure of the automated container crane for past several years and a new type of transfer crane has been developed. Design concept and control method of a new type of transfer crane had been presented in the previous paper: Part Ⅰ. Experimental features will be presented with a model transfer crane in this paper: Part Ⅱ.

Design Methodology of Yard Layout in Port Container Terminal (컨테이너터미널의 장치장 레이아웃 설계방법)

  • This paper presents a method for designing layout on the yard and evaluating alternative designs of the layout by applying simulation. The design method is based on the concepts of the conventional port container terminal with yard layout, In general, yard design of the container terminal is consists of the two major parts. One is to divide yard area between the number of sections and the number of runs and the other is to decide the number of equipment that is the yard truck and yard crane. In the past days, this design was depended on the experience of the terminal operator and the reproduction of the conventional terminal layout because it is a very complex decision problem. In this paper, we suggest the method of yard design as a conceptual procedure and estimate the efficiency of the container crane and the optimal number of equipment using simulation. In the experiment results, the number of sections and runs on yard area, the number of yard truck per container crane and the number of yard crane per run are decided. In addition, the traffic flow among blocks on yard layout is estimated in terms of rate.

  • In this paper, we propose an active location acquisition terminal needing to construct an infrastructure based on a LBS and analyze the performance in real field. The proposed terminal is compounded with a GPS module and a CDMA module, so it can get the location information independently using satellite GPS signal and the proposed terminal can decide a user location with the location information of a base station in satellite GPS shadowed area. This is the distinguishable location acquisition method from the conventional A-GPS, and it complements a disadvantage of the conventional GPS. From these results, we can confirm that the proposed active location acquisition terminal is suitable to the requirements for the LBS which are the independent location acquisition ability, the continuity in the location information acquisition and the maintenance in the location information security.

  • This paper presents a design method for multiple-output combinational digital logic systems using time domain based on multiplexing(TDBM) and common multi-terminal extension decision diagrams(CMTEDD). The CMIEDDs represents extension valued multiple-output functions, while TDBM systems transmit several signals on a single lines. The proposed method can reduce the 1)hardware, 2)logic levels and 3)pins. In the logic system design, we use two types of decision diagrams(DDs), that is the common binary decision diagrams(CBDDs) and CMTEDDs. Also, we propose an algorithms to derive common multiple-terminal binary decision diagrams(CMTBDD) from CBDDs, and CMTEDDs from CMTBDDs. The CMTEDDs over CBDDs is more compactness in terms of number of non-terminal nodes, where the nodes for output selection variables are not included in the non-terminal nodes. In the logic design, each non-terminal nodes of an CBDDs and an CMTEDDs is realized by a multiplexer(MUX). In addition, we compare the proposed TDBM realization with the conventional one.

Design of Planar Modified Folded Loop Antennas for S-DMB band (위성 DMB 대역을 위한 수정된 폴디드 루프 안테나)

  • In this paper, the planar type modified folded loop antennas for S-DMB band is proposed. The proposed antenna consisted of opened center of a conventional closed loop and folded terminal of microstrip line to inside loop antenna. The sizes proposed antenna was minimized by folding the terminal of the loop. Also, It was minimized reactance value by increasing capacitances between coupled microstrip line. Therefore the proposed antennas compacted about 20% than a conventional loop antenna and increased efficiency of antenna. The proposed antennas got an omni-directional pattern, the antenna gain was 3.67 [dBi] and the bandwidth was 900 MHz (2.6-3.56 GHz) with VSWR${\leq}$2 from the simulated and the measured results. The frequency utilization coefficient was 29.9 %. These properties could satisfy the S-DMB band.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for the efficient power use in power outage. The cost is high and conversion into the other function is difficult since the terminal used in conventional home network system has a dedicated function. This method is based on home network system employed with photovoltaic system. Throughout the modularization of the terminal, the variable function and cost reduction can be achieved. Additionally the unit cost can be reduced by using the power line communication. The prototype of light-control terminal has been implemented. The experimental results with the terminal show the performance of light-control system and the possibility of the commercialization can be achieved.
