Nanoporous materials with nanometer-sized pores, are of great interest in the various applications such as selective adsorbents, heterogeneous catalysts and catalyst supports because of their high porosity, surface area, and size selective adsorption properties. This study is aimed to prepare nanoporous catalytic materials on the basis of two-dimersional clay by pillaring of $SiO_2$ sol particles. $SiO_2$ Pillared Montmorillonite (Si-PILM) was prepared by ion exchanging the interlayer $Ni^{2+}$ ions of clay with $SiO_2$ nano-sized particles of which the surface was modified with nicked polyhydroxy cations sach as $Ni_4(OH)_4^{4+}$. Nano-sized $SiO_2$ particles were formed by the controlled hydrolysis of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). Upon pillaring of $Ni^+$-modified $SiO_2$ nano particles between the clay layers, the basal spacing was expanded largely to $45{\AA}$ and the extremely large specific surface area ($S_{BET}$) of $760m^2/g$ was obtained.

The syntheses of thermal latent catalysts have been carried out by modifying the substituent of pyrazinium salts. The thermal latent properties and cure behaviors of difunctional epoxy resin (diglycidylether of bisphenol-A, DGEBA) with 1 wt% of catalyst as an initiator were investigated by dynamic DSC method. As a result, the synthesized catalysts showed the good latent thermal properties in epoxy system. With increasing the basicity of substituted catalyst, the cure temperature and activation energy of epoxy system were increased, whereas the activity was decreased. This was probably due to the fact that the activity and cure behavior were controlled by ring strain and basicity of substituent. Consequently, the catalyst activity modified by methyl group as an electron donor was decreased in increasing of basicity in an initiation step of epoxy cure system. This is due to a decreasing of stabilities of both leaving group of pyrazinium salts and benzyl cation. However, the catalyst activity modified by cyano group as an electron acceptor was increased in increasing the stability of benzyl cation resulting from organic effects and resonance.
It is hard to synthesize pure $BaTiO_3$ from $BaCO_3$ and $TiO_2$ in solid reaction for the activity of BaO and secondary phase. For this reason, the wet chemical techniques have been studied. Starting material which was used in these methods were expensive and the properties of powder which was synthesized in same defined. So, some process have been studying again to improve soild reaction method. This study which was one of those was to defin the forming mechanism of $Ba_2TiO_4$ and to control some condition of $Ba_2TiO_4$. The synthesis temperature of $BaTiO_3$ in solid reaction was near $1120^{\circ}C$. The quantity and forming temperature of $Ba_2TiO_4$ could be controlled by atmosphere heat treatment. $Ba_2TiO_4$ was related to expansion in Ba-rich region of $BaTiO_3$. $BaTiO_2O_5$ and $BaTiO_3O_7$ was reason to expand in Ti-rich region. The dielectrics of $CeAIO_3$ which was synthesized and sintered in reduction atmosphere and $BaTiO_3$ system were affected by $CeO_2$ which was formed for the decomposition of $CeAIO_3$ heat treatment in air.

Salvia miltiorrhiza has been used for treating heart and liver disease. In the present study, the influences of temperature on photosynthetical capacity of S. miltiorrhiza under controlled cultivation environment using growth chamber were investigated because of providing information about growth and secondary metabolite synthesis. And effect of harvesting time on growth properties and constituents such as salvianolic acid B, cryptotanshinone, tanshinone I, tanshinone IIA were evaluated. Maximum photosynthesis rate ($5.102{\mu}mol\;CO2/m2/s$) and net apparent quantum yield ($0.147{\mu}mol\;CO2/m2/s$), stomatal conductance (0.035 mmol/m2/s) and water use efficiency ($7.108{\mu}mol\;CO2/mmol\;H2O$) was highest at $20^{\circ}C$. Results of chlorophyll fluorescence showed that elevated temperature had contributed to reduce a quantum yield and electron flux in photosystem. This result demonstrated that favorable temperature condition was determined at $20^{\circ}C$. Contents of salvianolic acid B, cryptotanshinone, tanshinone I and tanshinone IIA was highest in root sample harvested at 20 March, whereas growth and yield of S. miltiorrhiza had no significant differences with harvesting time. Therefore, this study shows that temperature play an important role in photosynthetic activity and harvesting time have influence upon accumulation of constituents in root of S. miltiorrhiza.

MnO2 was prepared by a hydrothermal process method in the range of 120-200 ℃ and 0.5-5 h, calcined at 300 ℃ after induction of precipitation using KMnO4 and MnCl2・4H2O, and its catalytic activity was compared for CO oxidation. The catalysts were characterized using by X-ray diffraction, N2-sorption, scanning electron microscopy, and temperature programmed reduction of H2 or CO. The crystalline structure of pure α-MnO2 or hybrid α/β-MnO2 was controlled by the preparation conditions. The pure α-MnO2 showed better catalytic activity and thermal stability than hybrid α/β-MnO2. Especially, α-MnO2 prepared at 150 ℃ for 1 h has the highest specific surface area 214 m2 g-1, reducibility and labile lattice oxygen species analyzed by H2, CO-TPR, respectively. It also showed the best CO oxidation activity in both conditions of temperature programmed and isothermal reaction. The results came from the physicochemical properties of catalysts like the crystalline structure, specific surface area, reducibility and lattice oxygen species, and which are correlated with catalytic performance.

The development of the environment-friendly tire that meets the standard requirements according to tire labeling system can be improved through using highly homogeneous silica immobilized zinc oxide nanoparticles. In this study, a considerable amount of nanoporous silica was essentially added into nano zinc oxide to improve the physiochemical properties of the formed composite. The introduction of nanoporous silica materials in the composite facilitates the improvement of the wear-resistance and increases the elasticity of the tread. Therefore, the introduction of nanoporous silica can replace carbon black as filler in the formation of composites with desirable properties for conventional green tire. Herein, mesoporous silica immobilized zinc oxide nanoparticle with desirable properties for rubber compounds was investigated. Composites with homogeneous dispersion were obtained in the absence of dispersants. The dispersion stability was controlled through varying the molar ratio, ageing time and mixing order of the reactants. A superior dispersion was achieved in the sample obtained using 0.03 mol of zinc precursor as it had the smallest grain size (50.5 nm) and then immobilized in silica aged for 10 days. Moreover, the specific surface area of this sample was the highest ($649m^2/g$).

When cells are exposed to proteotoxic stresses such as heat shock, amino acid analogs, and heavy metals, they increase the synthesis of the heat shock proteins (HSPs) by activating the heat shock transcription factor 1 (HSF1), whose activity is controlled via multiple steps including homotrimerization, nuclear translocation, DNA binding, and hyperphosphorylation. Under unstressed conditions, the HSF1 activity is repressed through its constitutive phosphorylation by glycogen synthase kinase 3$\beta$ (GSK3$\beta$), extracellular regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2), and stress-activated protein kinase/c-Jun N-terminal kinase (SAPK/JNK). However, the protein kinase (s) responsible for HSF1 hyperphosphorylation and activation is not yet identified. In the present study, we observed that profile of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38MAPK) activation in response to heat shock was very similar to those of HSF1 hyperphosphorylation and nuclear translocation. Therefore, we investigated whether p38MAPK is involved in the heat shock-induced HSF1 activation and HSP expression. Here we show that the p38MAPK inhibitors, SB202190 and SB203580, but not other inhibitors including the MEK1/2 inhibitor PD98059 and the PI3-K inhibitor LY294002 and wortmannin, suppress HSF1 hyperphosphorylation in response to heat shock and L-azetidine 2-carboxylic acid (Azc), but not to heavy metals. Furthermore, heat shock-induced HSF1-DNA binding and HSP72 expression was specifically prevented by the p38MAPK inhibitors, but not by the MEK1/2 inhibitor and the PI3-K inhibitors. These results suggest that SB202190- and SB203580-sensitive p38MAPK may positively regulate HSP gene regulation in response to heat shock and amino acid analogs.
Tridentate Schiff base ligands such as $SIPH_2,\;SIPCH_2,\;HNIPH_2,\;and\; HNIPCH_2$ were prepared by the reaction of salicylaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-l-naphthaldehyde with 2-aminophenol and 2-amino-p-cresol. The structures and properties of ligands and their Co(II) complexes were investigated by elemental analysis, $^1H$NMR, IR, UV-visible spectra, and thermogravimetric analysis. The molar ratio of Schiff base to the metal of complexes was found to be 1:1. Co(II) complexes were contemplated to be hexa-coordinated octahedral configuration containing three water molecules. The redox process of ligands and complexes in DMSO solution containing 0.1 M TBAP as a supporting electrolyte were investigated by cyclic voltammetry with glassy carbon electrode. The redox process of the tridentate Schiff base ligands was totally irreversible. The redox process of Co(II) complexes were irreversible and one electron processes by two steps in diffusion controlled reaction. The reduction potential of the Co(II) complexes was shifted to the positive direction in the order [Co(Ⅱ)$(HNIPC)(H_2O)_3$]>[Co(Ⅱ)$(HNIP)(H_2O)_3$]>[Co(II)$(SIPC)(H_2O)_3$]>[Co(Ⅱ)$(SIP)(H_2O)_3], and their dependence on ligands were not so high.
