  • Hip joint simulator which Is an essential device for evaluating the wear of biomaterials (ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene, Co-Cr alloy, alumina, etc.) used in total hip joint replacement was developed. This hip joint simulator mimics the joint motion and joint loading of human gait by adapting the 4 degree of freedom in kinematic motion (flexing/extension, adduction/abduction, Internal rotation/external rotation) and axial loading, Four stations are operated by 8 servo-motors and harmony drives. Joint leading was imposed by displacement control from a ball screw, LM guide, and spring system. Each kinematic link system operates separately or coupled modes. A heater and a thermocouple were installed for keeping the body temperature in each station.

조류 성장이 부레옥잠을 이용한 폐수처리공법의 유출수에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Algae Growth on the Effluent of Wastewater Treatment Systems by Using Water Hyacinth)

  • Growing algae spread over open water surface of water hyacinth system the leaves of hyacinth prevented the passage of sunlight through the water surface. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of the algae growth on the effluent of water hyacinth wastewater treatment systems operated with the variation of an organic loading rate between 190 to 550 kg COD/ha.day. The effluent from the system contained algae was discharged for about 2-3 weeks from the beginning of experimental operation of water hyacinth systems. BOD and 55 concentration of effluents during algae growthing periods were higher than those during the period of algae control. But nitrogen and phosphrous romoval efficiencies during in algae growthing periods were slighty higher than those during the period of algae control.

cdma2000-type 네트워크의 역방향 링크에서의 다중 QoS 서비스 보장을 위한 자원 관리 기술: Modified Weighted G-Fair 스케줄러 (Uplink Resource Management Scheme for Multiple QoS Traffics in cdma2000 type Networks: Modified Weighted G-Fair Scheduler with RoT Filling)

  • cdma2000 IxEV-DO 네트워크의 역방향 링크에서와 같은 자율적 전송률 제어 (ARC, Autonomous data Rate Control) 구조는 다중 QoS 환경에서의 다양한 QoS 보장 및 RoT (Rise over Thermal) 제약 조건을 만족시키지 못하는 문제가 있다. 이에 따라, 본 논문에서는 cdma2000 기반의 역방향 링크 시스템을 위한 자원 관리 기술로서, MWGF (Modified Weighted G-Fair) 스케줄러를 제안하고, 다중 QoS 서비스 환경에서 성능을 분석하였다. 제안된 스케줄러는 QoS 요구를 고려한 우선 순위를 제공할 뿐만 아니라 RoT-filling 기법을 이용해서 RoT 정규화를 보장함으로서 CDMA 시스템의 로딩 (loading)을 유지하는 구조로 설계되었다. 모의실험을 통하여, 제안된 스케줄러는 자율적 전송률 제어 구조에 비하여, 약 29 - 40 % 정도의 실시간 서비스의 전송 시간이 단축되는 것을 보였으며, 약 1.0 - 1.3 dB의 낮은 평균 수신 RoT 레벨을 유지하여 낮은 시스템 로딩을 제공함을 보였다. 이와 같은 낮은 시스템 로딩은 여분의 간섭량을 타 서비스 또는 타 셀에 제공하여 시스템 전체의 용량을 증가시킬 수 있게 된다.

  • In the maritime container terminal, LMTT(Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology) is horizontal transfer system for the yard automation, which has been proposed to take the place of AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The system is based on PMLSM (Permanent Magnetic Linear Synchronous Motor) that is consists of stator modules on the rail and shuttle car (mover). Because of large variant of mover's weight by loading and unloading containers, the difference of each characteristic of stator modules, and a stator module's trouble etc., LMCPS (Linear Motor Conveyance Positioning System) is considered as that the system is changed its model suddenly and variously. In this paper, we will introduce the soft-computing method of a multi-step prediction control for LMCPS using DR-FNN (Dynamically-constructed Recurrent Fuzzy Neural Network). The proposed control system is used two networks for multi-step prediction. Consequently, the system has an ability to adapt for external disturbance, cogging force, force ripple, and sudden changes of itself.

Preventive Control for Transient Security with Generation Rescheduling Based on Rotor Trajectory Index

  • The increasing need to improve transient security assessment of existing or forecasted operating conditions of networks by power system operators is major concern of the power system security monitoring problem at the Energy Management Systems. This paper proposes a preventive control of transient stability with generation rescheduling based on rotor trajectory index obtained using time domain simulations. This index may help power engineers in making operational decision and to obtain a generation configuration with better transient security dispatch. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is demonstrated on IEEE 39-bus New England system for a three phase fault at different loading conditions with single and multiple line outage cases.

  • FACTS concept is the control of power flow and increase of the loading on existing lines to the thermal limuts. This paper focuses on the ability of the thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC) to stabilize the disturbed power systems. The result shows the potential benefit of the TCSC in addition to the role of controlling the steady state power flow. In order to show the effectiveness of controlled series capacitor, power system dynamic model is augmented and the effect of the SC into the power system dynamics is included. As a control algorithm, Linear Optimal Control theory is applied.

내진보강을 위한 피봇형 변위 증폭 감쇠 시스템의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of a Pivot-Type Displacement Amplification Damper System for Seismic Strengthening)

  • For the vibration control of earthquake-excited structures, a pivot-type displacement amplification damper system is proposed and its validity is investigated in this study. A rotational frame amplifies the stroke of the proposed damper system and it can absorb more vibrational energy compared to the conventional dampers of which strokes are not large. In order to prove the effectiveness of the system, time-history analyses are performed with a three story building modelled by a three dimensional frame and numerical results are compared with those for a conventional V-shape braced damper system. In addition, the seismic performances are investigated according to the changes of damper capacity and location.

  • 고층건물의 설계에 있어서 지진보다 바람에 의한 영향이 더욱 크므로 바람에 의한 건물의 안전성과 거주성등을 검토하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 내풍해석은 모형 실험을 통하여 그 결과를 예측할 수 있으나 본 연구에서는 수치해석의 모형 개발에 중점을 두어 변동 풍하중의 3차원 모델과 건물 평면의 비대칭성을 고려하여 동조질량감쇠기를 설치하였을 때의 건물의 진동 성능을 분석하고 있다. 건물의 질량과 강성중심이 일치하지 않아 횡변위와 비틀림이 연계되는 102층의 건물을 예로 들어 내풍해석 및 동조질량감쇠기를 설치하였을 때 진동제어 해석을 수행하여 건물의 변위와 가속도의 평균응답을 구하여 결과를 비교하였다.

  • This paper presents an UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller) model for stability study using PSS/E. The proposed UPEC model was implemented by IPLAN which is a high level language. As a control strategy for damping electromechanical oscillations, energy function method was adopted. By the adopted control law, the damping effect is robust with respect to loading condition, fault location and network structure. Furthermore, the control imputs are based on local signals. The effect of control of the UPFC model was demonstrated on an one machine infinite bus system and a two area system.

컨테이너 기중기의 제어 : 수정된 시간최적주행과 비선형 잔류흔들림 제어 (Container Crane Control: Modified Time-Optimal Traveling Followed by Nonlinear Residual Sway Control)

  • To achieve fast loading and unloading of containers from a container ship, quick suppression of the remaining sway motion of the container at the end of each trolley stroke is crucial. Due to the pendulum motion of the container and disturbances like sind, residual sway always exists at the end of trolley movement. In this paper, the sway-control problem of a container crane is investigated. A two-stage control is proposed. The first stage is a time optimal controlfor the purpose of fast trolley traveling. The second stage is a nonlinear control for the quick suppression of residual sway, which starts right after the first stage while lowering the container. The nonlinear control is investigated in the perspective of controlling an underatuated mechanical system, which combines partial feedback linearization to account for the known nonlinearities as much as possible, and variable structure control to account for the unmodeled dynamics and disturbances. Simulation and experimental results are provided.
