강인 제어에 의한 Static Synchronous Series Compensator의 전력계통 동요 억제 (Damping Oscillation of Power System by Robust Control of SSSC)

  • To improve the damping of all poorly damped oscillation modes, a control strategy of Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) based on energy method is presented in this Paper As a synchronous voltage-sourced inverter, SSSC is used to provide controllable series compensation. SSSC can provide controllable compensating voltage over an identical capacitive and inductive range. The damping effect of control strategy based on energy function is robustness with respect to loading condition, fault location and network configuration. Furthermore, the control inputs are based on local signals. In two area system, the effect of damping inter-area mode oscillation is demonstrated by the robust control strategy of SSSC.

An Improved Control Approach for DSTATCOM with Distorted and Unbalanced AC Mains

  • This paper presents a new control approach of DSTATCOM (distribution static compensator) for compensation of reactive power, unbalanced loading and harmonic currents under unbalanced non-sinusoidal ac mains. The control of DSTATCOM is achieved using Adaline based current estimator based on LMS algorithm to maintain source currents real and undistorted. The dc bus voltage of voltage source converter (VSC) working as DSTATCOM is maintained at constant voltage using a proportional-integral (PI) controller. The DSTATCOM system alongwith proposed control scheme is modeled in MATLAB to simulate the behavior of the system. The practical implementation of the DSTATCOM is carried out using dSPACE DS1104 R&D controller having TMS320F240 as a slave DSP. Simulated and implementation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the DSTATCOM with Adaline based control to meet the severe load perturbations with different types of loads (linear and non-linear) under distorted and unbalanced AC mains.

  • An active modal-fuzzy control method using hydraulic actuators is presented for seismic response reduction. In the proposed control system, a new fuzzy controller designed in the modal space produces the desired active control force. This type controller has all advantages of the fuzzy control algorithm and modal approach. Since it is very difficult to select input variables used in fuzzy controller among an amount of state variables in the active fuzzy control system the presented algorithm adopts the modal control algorithm which is able to consider more easily information of all state variables in civil structures that are usually dominated by first few modes. In other words, all information of the whole structure can be considered in the control algorithm evaluated to reduce seismic responses and it can be efficient for especially civil structures. In addition, the presented algorithm is expected to magnify utility and performance caused by efficiency that the fuzzy algorithm can handle complex model more easily. An active modal-fuzzy control scheme is applied together with a Kalman filter and a low-pass filter to be applicable to real civil structures. A Kalman filter is considered to estimate modal states and a low-pass filter was used to eliminate spillover problem. The results of the numerical simulations far a wide amplitude range o f loading conditions and for historic earthquakes having various frequency components show that the proposed active modal-fuzzy control system can be beneficial in reducing seismic responses of civil structures.

  • This paper deals with a control technique of eliminating the transient vibration of a geared mechanical system. This technique is based on a model-based control with a rotational speed sensor in order to establish the damping effect at the driven machine part. A rotational speed sensor is installed in a driven gear, namely a bull gear. A control model is composed of a reduced-order mechanical part expressed as a transfer function between the rotational speed of the motor and that of the bull gear. This control model estimates a load speed after the rotational speed of the bull gear is acted on the transfer function. The difference between the estimated load speed and the motor speed is calculated dynamically and it is added to the velocity command to suppress the transient vibration generated at the load. This control technique is applied to a dies driving spindle of a form rolling machine. In this paper, the performance of this control method is examined by simulations. The settling time of the residual vibration generated at the loading inertia can be shortened down to about 1/2 of the uncompensated vibration level.

  • OFDMA 시스템에서 단말기는 기지국과 같이 최소 1개부터 최대일 때 부채널 전부를 사용할 수 있지만 단말기의 송신전력은 기지국보다 낮게 설계되기 때문에 부채널 전부를 사용할 수 있는 거리(FLR : full loading range)의 제한이 생기고 FLR 외부에 위치한 단말은 기존의 개방루프 전력제어 방식을 사용할 수 없는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 OFDMA 시 스템의 ranging 정보를 이용하여 단말기의 위치를 파악하고 단말기의 위치에 따라서 사용가능한 부채널수를 제한하고 PCG(power concentration gain)를 인가하는 방식을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 실험 결과에서 제안된 방식은 단말기의 위치에 따라서 상향링크 무선자원의 최적 활용을 가능하게 하며 FLR 외부에서 개방루프 전력 제어가 별도의 하드웨어 없이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • The aim of this research was performance of Web-based real time DGPS using MS visual basic 6.0 Active X control. This system supported the navigation of rover by transmitting the DGPS correction information of base station via internet and monitored the moving of rover by displaying the corrected results received from rover as well as permitting Web users monitoring for rover. The Web-based DGPS server and the client system using MS visual basic 6.0 Active X control for DGPS displayed on Web-browser with the pre analysis was constructed and the system loading test via Web-browser was performed after debugging this system through the static GPS test and publishing it on Web. Also, the wireless internet DGPS test on Web by changing the distance between a base station and a rover was carried out. As the result of the test, the real time DGPS could be performed by transmitting the correction message which calculated from the server system to the client system continually. The rover could be managed by displaying the location information which received from the client system. Other users also could monitor the rover by connecting with this system via internet in real time.

흡수성 Biofilter 를 이용한 농촌 소규모 오수처리 시설의 성능 (Performance for a small on-site wastewater treatment system using the absorbent biofilter in rural areas)

  • 본 연구에서는 생물막법의 일종인 흡수성 Biofilter 시스템(ABS)을 설치하여 14개월의 실험기간 동안 건국대 농생대 구내의 염기성 부패조로부터 유입수를 3가지 수리부하율로 처리하여 시험하였다. 모니터링 결과에 의하면 ABS는 평균농도 $BOD_5=6.2mg/l$, TSS=4.4mg/l 이라는 아주 낮은 유기성 유출수를 연속적으로 발생시킬 수 있음이 확인되었다. 이러한 저농도 유출수는 현재 우리나라 오분법의 특정지구(상수원 보호구역)에 대한 방류수 기준($BOD_5=10mg/l$, TSS=10mg/l)에도 훨씬 못 미치는 양호한 농도로서 ABS의 우수한 유기성오수 처리성능이 입증되었다. 특히 유출수내의 TSS 농도가 지극히 낮아서 슬러지의 발생이 거의 없으므로 침전조를 생략할 수 있어 설치비용이 저렴해지고, 유지관리가 단순한 장점을 지니고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 ABS시설이 농촌에 널리 보급되어 실용적인 시스템이 되기 위해서는 앞으로 T - N과 T- P의 처리효율 향상 방안, 겨울철에 대한 Biofilter탱크내 임계온도 유지문제, 광역모니터링 및 신속보수 유지관리체계 확립에 대한 계속적인 연구가 필요하다. 이러한 문제점만 어느정도 해결된다면 ABS는 우리나라 농촌의 소규모 현장 오수처리시설로서 앞으로 미래가 밝은 차세대형 시스템이 될 것으로 확신한다.

Assessment of velocity-acceleration feedback in optimal control of smart piezoelectric beams

  • Most of studies on control of beams containing piezoelectric sensors and actuators have been based on linear quadratic regulator (LQR) with state feedback or output feedback law. The aim of this study is to develop velocity-acceleration feedback law in the optimal control of smart piezoelectric beams. A new controller which is an optimal control system with velocity-acceleration feedback is presented. In finite element modeling of the beam, the variation of mechanical displacement through the thickness is modeled by a sinus model that ensures inter-laminar continuity of shear stress at the layer interfaces as well as the boundary conditions on the upper and lower surfaces of the beam. In addition to mechanical degrees of freedom, one electric potential degree of freedom is considered for each piezoelectric element layer. The efficiency of this control strategy is evaluated by applying to an aluminum cantilever beam under different loading conditions. Numerical simulations show that this new control scheme is almost as efficient as an optimal control system with state feedback. However, inclusion of the acceleration in the control algorithm increases practical value of a system due to easier and more accurate measurement of accelerations.

PSD322-Axle형 지게차 자동변속기의 변속제어 (Shifting Control Method for Automatic Transmission of PSD-Axle Forklift)

  • A forklift (also called a lift truck) is a powered industrial truck that is used to lift and transport materials. It has become an indispensable piece of equipment in manufacturing and warehousing operations. The modem forklift is equipped with automatic transmission to meet the requirement of loading and easy operation of the vehicle. This paper proposes the design of TECU(Transmission Electronic Control Unit) which is applied to PSD322-Axle transmission. Garofalo's control technique is generally used to the automatic transmission. We consider the work quality and market requirement that does not want to control engine throttle. This paper proposes new controller system which guarantees efficient speed changes with simple system. This new system does not control the engine throttle spontaneously. But it has the load of engine and vehicle as a maximum disturbance. The scope of the disturbance is limited to the stoll area of the torque converter. This paper proposes a ideal control commander that converges relative velocity of the input and ouput of a clutch into a zero. We design linear controller to execute the idea control commander. We applied the control algorithm to the forklift of PSD322-Axle type and the performance of this controller was verified.
