노인의 에너지 섭취 부족과 관련된 사회환경요인 분석 (Socio-economic status is associated with the risk of inadequate energy intake among Korean elderly)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 노인세대가 겪는 사회환경요인이 에너지 섭취 부족에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 제5기 1차년도 (2010) 국민건강영양조사 자료를 바탕으로 분석을 실시하였으며, 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 남녀 모두 연령이 70세 이상이고, 경제활동을 하지 않는 경우, 활동제한이 있는 경우 에너지 섭취 부족 비율이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그 밖에 남자는 배우자는 없이 가족과 동거하는 경우, 학력, 그리고 가구소득, 여자는 자살생각 여부가 에너지 섭취량에 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 2) 에너지 필요 추정량의 75% 미만으로 섭취하는 노인의 비율은 남자는 23.7% (196명), 여자는 31.1% (324명)으로 나타났으며 에너지 섭취량이 75% 미만인 그룹의 경우 탄수화물 섭취 비율이 유의적으로 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 3) 에너지 섭취가 부족한 그룹의 경우 남녀 모두 돼지고기와 소고기가 10위 안에 포함되지 않았고 배추김치와 된장이 20위 안의 주요 급원식품에 들었다. 4) 최종적으로 남녀 모두 학력 (남자: OR = 1.480, 여자: OR = 1.614)과 경제활동 여부 (남자: OR = 1.751, 여자: OR = 1.464)가 에너지 섭취 부족에 영향을 주는 요인으로 분석되었으며, 이 외에도 남자는 70세 이상의 고령 (OR = 1.475), 여자는 배우자 없이 가족과 동거하는 경우 에너지 섭취 부족일 확률이 1.496배로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과 노인의 에너지 섭취량은 노화로 인한 신체적 생리적 변화 외에도 노인이 속한 사회환경, 사회구조적 변화에 민감하게 반응한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 효과적인 노년기 영양관련 정책 수립을 위해서는 사회환경의 변화에 따른 영양취약계층을 선별하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하므로, 본 연구에서 확인한 노인의 에너지 섭취 부족과 관련된 요인들은 노년기 영양정책을 계획하는 데 있어 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Gender Equality and Women Business of Framework 5Ms in Kazakhstan: Analysis and Basic Directions

  • This study aims to analyze of existing concepts of female entrepreneurship, evaluation of women's entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan and development of recommendations for its development in the country. This paper begins by reviewing research on female entrepreneurship. In this research, authors proposed the methodological tools based on systematic approach using economic and statistic methods and 5Ms concept. Analysis algorithm consists of four stages: evaluation of women entrepreneurship scale and business directions, analysis of employment in women's enterprises and business environment in Kazakhstan. The main limitation of this study was the lack of some gender-related indicators on the development of entrepreneurship. Further, the obtained results showed strong and weak points of female entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan. According to the results, there has observed increase in contribution of women in social-economic development of the republic, women's entrepreneurial activity is increasing, and the number of enterprises headed by them is growing. However, the growth of female entrepreneurship occurs while maintaining their insignificance in terms of turnover and number of employees. There is a pronounced industry specificity of female entrepreneurship: the service sector. In accordance with this, there were identified priority areas and there were developed recommendations for the development of female entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan.

Diversification Strategy through Market Creation: The Case of CJ Group

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate upon a diversification strategy through market creation of CJ Group, which has contributed in positioning of the firm as one of the leading conglomerates in South Korea. With such objective, the background of CJ Group, followed by its business diversification strategies were explored, with reference to several case studies. The history of CJ Group began with establishment of CheilJedang Industrial Corporation in 1953, as the first domestic sugar producer and exporter of South Korea. The corporation gradually expanded its business ever since at both national and global level, to include the fields of food production, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life chemicals. Later, CheilJedang (CJ) Group was established as an affiliate of CheilJedang Industrial Corporation. With such independence, extension of business has been witnessed across the industries of media, entertainment, finance, information technology and distribution. Thus, the current CJ Group pursues to define itself as a progressive global living culture company with four major business categories from food and food service, biotechnology, entertainment and media, and logistics. Despite its success in today's market, CJ Group underwent hardships in its business diversification in 1990s due to indiscreet management, along with the Asian financial crisis. Here, many firms overcame the financial difficulties by taking advantage of the exchange rate for overseas expansion. Though, CJ Group tried to differentiate itself by focusing on the domestic market by creating something out of nothing. Hence, CJ Group takes a unique position among many cases of business diversification and their categorization. In an effort to identify and classify the types of growth experienced by the top 30 companies in South Korea, the firms were categorized into four groups according to their diversification strategies adapted after the Asian financial crisis. Based on the mode and time of entry, corporations were identified either as the 'Explorer', 'Invader', 'Venture Capitalist', or 'Assimilator'. Here, the majority of the firms showed the qualities of Invader, entering mature markets through large-scaled mergers and acquisitions. However, CJ Group was the only firm that was categorized as an Explorer, for its focus on the newly emerging service sector in culture-contents industry. This diversification strategy through market creation is worth examining, due to its contribution in generating simultaneous growth between the market and the company itself. Diverse brands of CJ Group have been referred to as case studies in this regard, from 'Hatban', 'Cine de Chef', 'VIPS' to 'CJ GLS'. These four businesses, each to represent processed food, film, restaurant service, and logistics industries respectively, show CJ Group's effectiveness in creating a whole new category of goods and services that are innovative. In fact, such businesses not only contributed in advancement of consumers' wellbeing, but toward generating additional value and employment. It is true that the diversification strategy of CJ Group requires long-term capital investment with high risk, compared to the other strategies mentioned in the paper. However, this model does create high employment and additional values that are positive to both the society and the firm itself. Therefore, the paper comes to a conclusion that the diversification strategy through market creation conveys the most positive impact relative to the others.

주부의 자아 존중감과 가사 노동에 대한 태도 및 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Relation Between Self-Esteem and Attitude Toward Household Work and its Satisfaction.)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between housewife's self esteem and attitude toward household work its satisfaction and to find out how independent variables(housewife's age, education level, employment, household work helper, type of family) have effect on the two dependent variables. The measurement of self-esteem was based on the self-concept test standarized by Jung Won Sick, reformed the Fitts measurement for Korean Society. In order to measure of attitude toward household work and its satisfaction, based on the previous research, researcher made the measurement . the research was conducted on 234 housewives in Seoul in September 1984. Data was analyzed by percentage, mean, frequence analysis of variances, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The result can be summarized as following. 1)Over on half of housewives have high self-esteem comparatively. 2) Age and education level were variables to have influence n the attitude toward household work. 3)The attitude toward household work and its satisfaction comparatively were high. 4)Education level and type of family were variables to have influence on the attitude toward household work. Education level, employment and household work helper were variables to have influence on the satisfaction of house hold work. 5) Level of Self-esteem has influence on the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. The higher level of self-esteem was, the higher becomes the score of the attitude toward house hold work and its satisfaction. Following suggestions can be extracted form the results of above study. 1) research of housewife's self-esteem didn't established a setted theory yet. I think, therefore, it requires deeper study about housewife's household work look upon as her occupation and relation between the household work as her occupation and her self-esteem in this area. 2) Population and sociological variables, used in this study, hardly influenced on self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. Also the result didn't correspond with one another. So I think it requires need of further study how psychological and family function variables will have influence on housewife's self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. 3) To recognized the value of household work objectively, many researchers tried to investigate of economical value of household work, But if housewife can realize her self-actualization through household work, it requires the study that try to objectively not only estimate the economic value of household work, but also the contribution of the aspect of family psychology.

국유림경영이 지역사회에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of National Forest Management on the Local Community)

  • 산지의 점유율이 높은 지역중 국유림의 비중이 큰 세 지역을 대상으로 국유림관리가 지역사회에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 그 영향은 지역사회와 국유림과의 연계 정도, 그리고 해당 국유림이 갖는 경제적 자원의 부존량과 가간시설의 존재여부에 따라서 다르게 나타났다. 국유림경영의 지역사회에 대한 기여는 토지자원제공, 산물공급, 고용기회제공, 사회간접시설제공 등의 측면에 있다. 지역사회내에서 공익사업의 증가로 국유림으로부터의 토지자원제공은 계속 증가하고 있으며, 국유림의 산물공급은 주로 산림부산물로서 지역주민들의 연간소득중 21.6%가 이러한 국유림의 임산물 생산으로부터 얻어지고 있었다. 국유림내에서 이루어지는 산림작업에 의한 지역사회의 고용기회 창출은 매우 적었고, 국유림내에 시설된 임도는 사회간접자본시설로서의 역할이 미약하였다. 따라서 자원이용의 한계와 낮은 수익성으로 인하여 국가의 투자정책 우선순위에서 소외되었던 국유임 소재 지역사회의 발전을 촉진시키기 위해서는 지역사회의 경제활성화에 도움이 될 수 있도록 국유림을 경영하여야 할 것이다.

IT 아웃소싱의 가치에 관한 연구: 한국 산업에 대한 실증분석 (Value of Information Technology Outsourcing: An Empirical Analysis of Korean Industries)

  • Information technology (IT) outsourcing, the use of a third-party vendor to provide IT services, started in the late 1980s and early 1990s in Korea, and has increased rapidly since 2000. Recently, firms have increased their efforts to capture greater value from IT outsourcing. To date, there have been a large number of studies on IT outsourcing. Most prior studies on IT outsourcing have focused on outsourcing practices and decisions, and little attention has been paid to objectively measuring the value of IT outsourcing. In addition, studies that examined the performance of IT outsourcing have mainly relied on anecdotal evidence or practitioners' perceptions. Our study examines the contribution of IT outsourcing to economic growth in Korean industries over the 1990 to 2007 period, using a production function framework and a panel data set for 54 industries constructed from input-output tables, fixed-capital formation tables, and employment tables. Based on the framework and estimation procedures that Han, Kauffman and Nault (2010) used to examine the economic impact of IT outsourcing in U.S. industries, we evaluate the impact of IT outsourcing on output and productivity in Korean industries. Because IT outsourcing started to grow at a significantly more rapid pace in 2000, we compare the impact of IT outsourcing in pre- and post-2000 periods. Our industry-level panel data cover a large proportion of Korean economy-54 out of 58 Korean industries. This allows us greater opportunity to assess the impacts of IT outsourcing on objective performance measures, such as output and productivity. Using IT outsourcing and IT capital as our primary independent variables, we employ an extended Cobb-Douglas production function in which both variables are treated as factor inputs. We also derive and estimate a labor productivity equation to assess the impact of our IT variables on labor productivity. We use data from seven years (1990, 1993, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007) for which both input-output tables and fixed-capital formation tables are available. Combining the input-output tables and fixed-capital formation tables resulted in 54 industries. IT outsourcing is measured as the value of computer-related services purchased by each industry in a given year. All the variables have been converted to 2000 Korean Won using GDP deflators. To calculate labor hours, we use the average work hours for each sector provided by the OECD. To effectively control for heteroskedasticity and autocorrelation present in our dataset, we use the feasible generalized least squares (FGLS) procedures. Because the AR1 process may be industry-specific (i.e., panel-specific), we consider both common AR1 and panel-specific AR1 (PSAR1) processes in our estimations. We also include year dummies to control for year-specific effects common across industries, and sector dummies (as defined in the GDP deflator) to control for time-invariant sector-specific effects. Based on the full sample of 378 observations, we find that a 1% increase in IT outsourcing is associated with a 0.012~0.014% increase in gross output and a 1% increase in IT capital is associated with a 0.024~0.027% increase in gross output. To compare the contribution of IT outsourcing relative to that of IT capital, we examined gross marginal product (GMP). The average GMP of IT outsourcing was 6.423, which is substantially greater than that of IT capital at 2.093. This indicates that on average if an industry invests KRW 1 millon, it can increase its output by KRW 6.4 million. In terms of the contribution to labor productivity, we find that a 1% increase in IT outsourcing is associated with a 0.009~0.01% increase in labor productivity while a 1% increase in IT capital is associated with a 0.024~0.025% increase in labor productivity. Overall, our results indicate that IT outsourcing has made positive and economically meaningful contributions to output and productivity in Korean industries over the 1990 to 2007 period. The average GMP of IT outsourcing we report about Korean industries is 1.44 times greater than that in U.S. industries reported in Han et al. (2010). Further, we find that the contribution of IT outsourcing has been significantly greater in the 2000~2007 period during which the growth of IT outsourcing accelerated. Our study provides implication for policymakers and managers. First, our results suggest that Korean industries can capture further benefits by increasing investments in IT outsourcing. Second, our analyses and results provide a basis for managers to assess the impact of investments in IT outsourcing and IT capital in an objective and quantitative manner. Building on our study, future research should examine the impact of IT outsourcing at a more detailed industry level and the firm level.

비영리 공연조직의 재정성과에 관한 연구 - 미국오케스트라를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Financial Performance for Nonprofit Performing Arts Organizations: Focusing on American Symphony Orchestras)

  • 본 연구는 비영리 공연조직의 재정성과를 살펴보고 조직의 생존 전략 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 미국오케스트라의 상위 73개 단체의 IRS 990tax의 데이터를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 종속변수인 재정성과는 후원성과와 매출성과로 구분하였고, 독립 변수는 외부환경, 문화자본, 내부역량, 정부요인, 사회자본으로 하였다. 분석기법은 패널 GLS를 사용했다. 후원성과의 결정요인으로 주별 취업자 수, 오케스트라 연령, 규모, 지휘자의 미국국적, 정부지원금, 자원봉사자수가 정(+)의 관계로 나타났으며 주별 문화예술시장의 크기는 부(-)의 관계가 나타났다. 주별 1인당 총생산량과 학사 학위 이상 소지자 비율, 1인당 여가지출비용은 유의미한 관계가 나타나지 않았다. 매출성과의 경우 주별 취업자 수, 교육수준, 오케스트라 연령, 규모, 지휘자의 미국 국적, 정부지원금, 자원봉사자 수는 정(+)의 관계가 나타났고 문화예술시장의 규모는 부(-)의 관계가 나타났다. 이번 연구는 비영리 공연조직의 성과측정 방안을 제시하며, 특별히 사회자본이 조직의 성과를 내는데 영향을 끼치는 요인이란 것을 발견하는데 의미가 있다. 하지만 문화자본이 재정성과에 절대적인 영향을 주지 않는다는 점이 나타났고, 조직의 크기별로 다소 다른 결과가 나온 것은 추후 연구로 살펴봐야 할 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 앞으로 국내외 비영리 공연조직의 성과를 향상시키고 지속가능한 경영을 위한 전략을 세우는 데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

  • In order to improve this, Korean universities should reorganize their curriculum such as job system research and job - based program development according to the demand of industry in order to improve their working ability due to the decrease of the school - age population and the youth unemployment rate. In this study, first, conceptualization of friendly education and definition of industry - university cooperation and analysis of cases related to friendly - educational cooperation between industry and academia, second, analysis of fusion healing majors in Healing Bio - I want to conduct research. Konkuk University Healing Bioresource College conducted a survey based on demand such as experts and industry for the development of industry - academic cooperation - friendly curriculum. As a result of this process, I developed a curriculum development committee to study the internal and external environment through the literature survey, focus group interviews, and Delphi research. The purpose of this study is to develop competitiveness curriculum reflecting competitiveness of human resource development in Korea, to develop competitiveness curriculum that reflects customized opinions of societal demand, to organize systematic curriculum to have practical ability, to strengthen the employment link through development of curriculum in accordance with the direction of human resources development, We will make contribution to build the system of operation from the center to the consumer center, evaluation of the practical ability through the curriculum and the feedback system.

근로빈곤 결정의 제도 동학: 노동시장과 가구, 복지국가 분배 과정 분석 (Institutional Dynamics of In-Work Poverty Determination: Distributive Process of Labor Markets, Households, and the Welfare State Using Korean Welfare Panel Study, 2008-15)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국복지패널 4-11차년도(2008-15) 자료를 활용하여 우리나라 근로빈곤의 구조와 동학을 가구-노동시장-복지국가의 분배과정 모형을 적용하여 분석하였다. 그간 근로빈곤 연구가 근로 및 빈곤 개념의 규정과 측정 문제를 주로 다루고 노동시장에서의 취업 및 실업 지위의 지속과 반복을 통해 빈곤 동학을 규명해 왔으나, 상대적으로 제도의 분배 효과를 분석하는 연구는 드물었다. 본 논문에서는 노동시장에서의 임금 소득 확보, 가구 단위에서의 복지 욕구 충족과 가구원 간의 소득공유, 복지국가 단계에서의 사회보장기여금과 소득세 납부 및 공적 이전소득이 근로빈곤에 미치는 영향을 체계적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 근로빈곤은 전반적으로 2008-11년까지 각 단계에서 증가하는 추세에 있으며 그 이후 전반적으로 감소하는 경향을 보여주고 있다. 노동시장 단계에서는 전일제 노동 여부가 근로빈곤에 가장 큰 영향을 주었으며, 종사상 지위와 고용형태에 따른 근로빈곤률의 차이도 두드러졌다. 가구 단계에서는 가구 노동 강도와 소득자수가 빈곤률과 빈곤탈출에 큰 영향을 주었는데 그 관계가 반드시 선형적이지는 않았다. 복지국가는 근로빈곤 탈출에 미치는 영향이 전반적으로 작았다. 제도의 분배과정 관점에서 근로빈곤 집단은 주로 가구-복지국가 단계, 혹은 노동시장-가구-복지국가 단계 내내 근로빈곤 위험에 처하고 있었다. 모든 단계에서 근로빈곤 위험에 노출이 된 적이 없는 비위험 집단은 약 80%를 차지하고 있었으나 그 규모에는 큰 변동이 없었다.

외식수요증대를 위한 주부의 시간배분행동과 회귀분석 (The Study On Housewives부 Allocation of Time and Analysis of Recurrence for the Increase in Demand for the Food Service Industry)

  • This study has been made on the basis of the theoretical model of Beeker's time allocation concerning housewives' advance into society-- a primary cause for enlargint the scope of our food service market and developing the food service industry as a whole. The primary purpose of this study is to clarify the close relationship between housewives' activities in the course of allocating their time and the demand for the food service through Beeker's theory of“Total income and Total price”, analyzing the information obtained through the questionaires sent to the housewives in metropolitan areas. The result of the questionaires shows that the demand of food service is closely related to women's market activities. Yet it has become clear that the demand for food service correlates with housewives' allocation of time in terms of sharing profits. As a result, it is true that the increase in housewives' income per hour has brought about the increase of the term of employment and the decrease in their cooking time, thus greatly increasing the opportunities to dine out. In order words, the increase of housewives' income and the decrease in their cooking time have come to make a great contribution to shortening the time needed to take care of family matters while increasing the demand for eating out, or food service. And it is also clear that the common practice to dine out is derived from the reduction in our domestic duties, indicating the choice of social division of labour, but is needs to be noted that the gradual increase in women's income is sure to have exerted a considerable influence on this practice of eating out.
