CO2레이저 조사에 따른 치수강내 온도변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE TEMPERATURE CHANGE OF THE PULP CHAMBER INDECED BY THE CO2 LASER IRRADIATION)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the use of laser energy in the the field of operative dentistry without considerable pulpal damage and significant effects on the dental hard tissue, additionally to find out the methods which could control the temperature rise. The laser beam (CW $CO_2$ laser, output: 6W, beam diameter: 1.5mm) was focused on the center of the occlusal surface of extracted lower molars. A Ge lens (focal length 200mm) was used to focus the primary laser beam. In order to vary the total amount of the same irradiated energy, experimental subjects were devided into three groups: continuously irradiated group, intermittently irradiated group, and water-cooled group after continuous laser irradiation. Temperature changes in the pulp chamber after laser irradiation were measured and recorded by the digital thermometer and recorder. The following results were obtained: 1. Temperatures in the pulp chamber were raised up in the order of the continuously irradiated group, intermittently irradiated group, water-cooled group after continuous laser irradiation. 2. In the continuously irradiated group, the temperature was raised up $1.7^{\circ}C$, $3.8^{\circ}C$, $7.3^{\circ}C$, $17.2^{\circ}C$ after 2, 4, 8, 16 seconds of the irradiation of laser. In the intermittently irradiated group, the changes were $1.2^{\circ}C$, $3.4^{\circ}C$, $6.3^{\circ}C$, $11.1^{\circ}C$, respectively. In the water-cooled group after continuous laser irradiation, the changes were $0.0^{\circ}C$, $0.8^{\circ}C$, $1.6^{\circ}C$, $6.9^{\circ}C$, respectively. 3. The starting time of temperature rise in the pulp chamber had no connection with laser irradiation time.

And the customer requirement satisfaction and must convert a APQP goal of attainment at the key characteristics action step. (1) The Prevention - with Design FMEA application prevention of the present design management/detection, (2) the Detection (prevention/detection) - with Process FMEA application prevention of the present process control/detection, (3) Special Cause - statistical process control (SPC) 4M cause spread removal, (4) Common Cause - statistical process control (SPC) the nothing zero defect which leads the continuous improvement back of spread with application it will be able to attain with application.

내측연결형 임플란트에 체결한 지대주의 수직침하에 대하여 반복하중이 미치는 영향 (Effect of cyclic loading on axial displacement of abutment into implant with internal tapered connection: a pilot study)

  • 연구 목적: 내측연결형 임플란트와 지대주의 연결체에 반복하중을 부여하였을 때 수직 침하를 평가하고자 하였다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 외측연결형 임플란트와 내측연결형 임플란트에 세 종류의 시멘트유지형 지대주를 각각 장착하였다. 즉, 외측연결형 지대주(Ext 그룹), 내측연결형 1-piece 지대주(Int-1 그룹), 내측연결형 2-piece 지대주(Int-2 그룹)를 사용하였으며, 각 그룹마다 7개의 시편을 준비하였다. 임플란트-지대주 연결체에 수직하중을 적용하기 위하여 임플란트 받침대에 고정한 후, 4 Hz의 빈도로 $150{\pm}10N$의 반복하중을 가하였다. 수직침하량은 0, 5, 10, 50, 100, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000회의 반복하중 후에 각각 측정하였다. 반복측정분산분석(RM-ANOVA)를 이용하여 반복하중의 영향을 분석하였으며, 패턴변화를 관찰하기 위하여 선형혼합모형(linear mixed model)을 사용하였다. 유의수준은5% 로 설정하였다. 결과: 10,000회 반복하중 후 수직침하량은, Ext 그룹에서 $0.714{\pm}0.488{\mu}m$, Int-1그룹에서 $5.286{\pm}1.604{\mu}m$, Int-2 그룹에서 $11.429{\pm}1.902{\mu}m$를 나타내었다. 패턴분석에서는, Int-1 그룹 및 Int-2 그룹에서 지속적인 수직침하가 관찰되었으며, Ext그룹에서는 수직침하현상이 관찰되지 않았다. 결론:10,000회 반복하중 후의 선형혼합모형을 통한 분석에서, Ext그룹은 수직침하현상을 보이지 않았으나, Int-1 및 Int-2 그룹은 지속적인 수직침하현상을 나타내었다. 또한, Int-2그룹에서 Int-1그룹보다 더 많은 수직침하량이 관찰되었다.

  • A typical case where the effects of prying in the base angle type anchorage system with expansion bolt. This connection consists of an angle which is attathed to an equipment cabinet and bolted to a concrete slab via an expantion bolt. A seismic analysis of the cabinet may indicate a vertical load, P, transferred to the vertical leg of the angle due to overturning of the cabinet. Due to the eccentricity, b(e), and the continuous beam action in the base member, the load resisted by the bolt will be amplified by a factor λ. Thus, in this study, experimental evaluation of the anchorage system is executed.

  • Terahertz (THz) imaging and spectroscopy have been developed as non-destructive testing methods for various industrial applications. However, they have not been widely adopted in real applications owing to a high system price and the large size of conventional THz time-domain spectroscopy systems, which are based on ultrashort optical pulse lasers. Recently, various types of compact THz emitters and detectors have become available. As a result, THz non-destructive test (NDT) systems have become viable solutions. Herein, we briefly review the recent advances in THz NDT techniques adopting continuous-wave THz systems, including our recent results of a THz-based waterproof test system and an electrical connection inspection system for car manufacturing.

순수유체와 다공성물질의 경계면에서 압력구배의 수치적 처리에 관하여 (On Numerical Treatment of Pressure Gradient at the Interface Between a Homogeneous Fluid and a Porous Medium)

  • The objective of this study is to present a numerical treatment of the pressure gradient when control volumes are sharing the interface between a homogeneous fluid and a porous medium. Two possible approaches, e.g. linear interpolation and extrapolation, are considered, and they are applied to the case of a steady and two-dimensional curved channel flow which is partially filled with a porous medium. It was found that the linear extrapolation produces a continuous velocity-field at the interface and thus is recommended. On the contrary, the linear interpolation entails a discontinuous velocity field at the interface, thereby warning its use in connection with the Brinkman-Forchheimer-extended Darcy flow model.

  • There are two kinds of controllers in a continuous process system. One is for tension control of a moving web and the other for lateral motion control. The inter-connection between tension and lateral behaivior of web has not yet been considered in the analysis of web dynamics and designing of control stragagies. But the effect of tension variation on the lateral motion of a moving web is observed in the most manufacturing systems. In this paper, experimental studies was carried out to find out the inter-correlation between tension and lateral motion of a web using a 3-span web transport system which consists of two displacement type guiders. As a result, it was found that there are typical operating conditions that tension and lateral motion are correlated each other.

21세기 한국철도의 발전전망 (Developing Prospectives for Korean Railroad System in the 21st Century)

  • On 16Dec. 1999, It was 100 years since the opening the first railroad section of 33.2km on Sep. 1899, Korea High Speed Railroad had a successful trial run of 200km/h on test track section. And the test speed 300km/h was achieved an 28 June 2000 during continuous commissioning. In the 21st century, the High Speed Railroad will be opened commercially in Korea and will contribute to technical development. Now, it is necessary to re-evaluate the role of railroad in modern society and to activate the railroad system. Ultimately, the competitive power of nation will be strengthened with energy saving, reduction of pollution and transportation cost. It conclusion the railroad system have to be expaned about 50% of total transportation to make preparations for reopening of Eurasia silk route through KyungEu railroad connection.

TRIVIALITY OF A TRACE ON THE SPACE OF COMMUTING TRACE-CLASS SELF-ADJOINT OPERATORS

  • In the present article, we investigate the possibility of a real-valued map on the space of tuples of commuting trace-class self-adjoint operators, which behaves like the usual trace map on the space of trace-class linear operators. It turns out that such maps are related with continuous group homomorphisms from the Milnor's K-group of the real numbers into the additive group of real numbers. Using this connection, it is shown that any such trace map must be trivial, but it is proposed that the target group of a nontrivial trace should be a linearized version of Milnor's K-theory as with the case of universal determinant for commuting tuples of matrices rather than just the field of constants.

Effectiveness of strake installation for traffic signal structure fatigue mitigation

  • Across-wind response is often the cause of significant structural vibrations that in turn cause fatigue damage to welded and other connections. The efficacy of low-cost helical strakes to mitigate such adverse response is presented for a traffic signal structure. Field observations are made on a prototype structure in a natural wind environment without and with helical strakes installed on the cantilevered arm. Through continuous monitoring, the strakes were found to be effective in reducing across-wind response at wind speeds less than 10 m/s. Estimates of fatigue life are made for four different geographical locations and wind environments. Results for the class of traffic signal structure show that helical arm strakes are most effective in locations with benign wind environments where the average annual wind speed is not more than the vortex shedding wind speed, which for this investigation is 5 m/s. It is concluded that while strakes may be effective, it is not the panacea to mitigating connection fatigue at all locations.
