A Mutual Authentication Protocol based on Hash Function for Efficient Verification of User Entitlement in IPTV Service (IPTV 서비스에서 사용자의 수신자격을 효율적으로 판별할 수 있는 해쉬 함수 기반의 상호 인증 프로토콜)

  • The fusion stream of recent broadcasting and communication make multimedia content served in the area of broadcasting into IPTV service which transmits it through high-speed internet, cable TV net and satellite net in realtime. However, as the digital broadcasting service is extended to various media, the security of IPTV service content provided to users by service provider is not fully supported by CAS(Conditional Access System) provided by existing broadcasting system. This paper proposes interactive certification protocol which can efficiently distinguish the receiving-qualification of user between Set-Top Box and Smart Card which are parts of configurations for IPTV system. The proposed protocol uses hash function to make Set-Top Box transmit receiving-qualification about the channel fee which user pays more properly than existing protocol. Also, the proposed protocol uses session key generated between receiver and smart card through inter certification process and encrypts EMM not the service to be used by anyone illegally.

Characterizing a Full Spectrum of Physico-Chemical Properties of Ginsenosides Rb1 and Rg1 to Be Proposed as Standard Reference Materials

  • Good manufacturing practice (GMP)-based quality control is an integral component of the common technical document, a formal documentation process for applying a marketing authorization holder to those countries where ginseng is classified as a medicine. In addition, authentication of the physico-chemical properties of ginsenoside reference materials, and qualitative and quantitative batch analytical data based on validated analytical procedures are prerequisites for certifying GMP. Therefore, the aim of this study was to propose an authentication process for isolated ginsenosides $Rb_1$ and $Rg_1$ as reference materials (RM) and for these compounds to be designated as RMs for ginseng preparations throughout the world. Ginsenoside $Rb_1$ and $Rg_1$ were isolated by Diaion HP-20 adsorption chromatography, silica gel flash chromatography, recrystallization, and preparative HPLC. HPLC fractions corresponding to those two ginsenosides were recrystallized in appropriate solvents for the analysis of physico-chemical properties. Documentation of the isolated ginsenosides was made according to the method proposed by Gaedcke and Steinhoff. The ginsenosides were subjected to analyses of their general characteristics, identification, purity, content quantitation, and mass balance tests. The isolated ginsenosides were proven to be a single compound when analyzed by three different HPLC systems. Also, the water content was found to be 0.940% for $Rb_1$ and 0.485% for $Rg_1$, meaning that the net mass balance for ginsenoside $Rb_1$ and $Rg_1$ were 99.060% and 99.515%, respectively. From these results, we could assess and propose a full spectrum of physicochemical properties for the ginsenosides $Rb_1$ and $Rg_1$ as standard reference materials for GMP-based quality control.

A Data Caching Management Scheme for NDN (데이터 이름 기반 네트워킹의 데이터 캐싱 관리 기법)

  • To enhance network efficiency, named-data networking (NDN) implements data caching functionality on intermediate network nodes, and then the nodes directly respond to request messages for cached data. Through the processing of request messages in intermediate node, NDN can efficiently reduce the amount of network traffic, also solve network congestion problems near data sources. Also, NDN provides a data authenticate mechanism so as to prevent various Internet accidents caused from the absence of an authentication mechanism. Hence, through applying NDN to various smart IT convergence services, it is expected to efficiently control the explosive growth of network traffic as well as to provide more secure services. Basically, it is important factors of NDN which data is cached and where nodes caching data is located in a network topology. This paper first analyzes previous works caching content based on the popularity of the content. Then ii investigates the hitting rate of caches in each node of a network topology, and then propose an improved caching scheme based on the result of the analyzation. Finally, it evaluates the performance of the proposal.

Functional Requirements of Data Repository for DMP Support and CoreTrustSeal Authentication

  • For research data to be shared without legal, financial and technical barriers in the Open Science era, data repositories must have the functional requirements asked by DMP and CoreTrustSeal. In order to derive functional requirements for the data repository, this study analyzed the Data Management Plan (DMP) and CoreTrustSeal, the criteria for certification of research data repositories. Deposit, Ethics, License, Discovery, Identification, Reuse, Security, Preservation, Accessibility, Availability, and (Meta) Data Quality, commonly required by DMP and CoreTrustSeal, were derived as functional requirements that should be implemented first in implementing data repositories. Confidentiality, Integrity, Reliability, Archiving, Technical Infrastructure, Documented Storage Procedure, Organizational Infrastructure, (Meta) Data Evaluation, and Policy functions were further derived from CoreTrustSeal. The functional requirements of the data repository derived from this study may be required as a key function when developing the repository. It is also believed that it could be used as a key item to introduce repository functions to researchers for depositing data.

  • This study aims to analyze users' assessment of electronic libraries in the mobile app market and promote service improvement based on this. To this end, the basic background and purpose of the research, research method, and research scope were first set, and the relevant literature and empirical prior studies were analyzed. Next, users' evaluations of electronic libraries were collected and analyzed from Google Play Store. Based on the results analyzed, measures to improve the quality of electronic libraries were discussed. Based on the results of the study, the following improvement measures are proposed. Need for systemic improvement and stabilization. Provision of applications suitable for multi-device environments. Resumption of services after systematic inspection after updating. Simplification of sign up, log in, and authentication procedures. User support through real-time chat. Introduction of a detailed assessment of reviews. Provision of guidance and user manual for electronic libraries. Improvements to expand user convenience, and Securing differentiation from other similar services.

  • The content-based hashing for authentication and copy protection of image, video and 3D model has to satisfy the robustness and the security. For the security analysis of the hash value, the modelling method based on differential entropy had been presented. But this modelling can be only applied to the image hashing. This paper presents the modelling for the security analysis of the hash feature value in 3D model hashing based on differential entropy. The proposed security analysis modeling design the feature extracting methods of two types and then analyze the security of two feature values by using differential entropy modelling. In our experiment, we evaluated the security of feature extracting methods of two types and discussed about the trade-off relation of the security and the robustness of hash value.

A Study on the authentication scheme for Security of Wireless Internet (무선 인터넷에서 보안을 위한 인증방안에 관한 연구)

  • The continuing development of the information technology industry and wireless networking has increased the use of mobile device, which provides both portability and mobility. As follows, demands for extended services within the wireless Internet are increasing rapidly. Because it still in its initial stages of development, the wireless Internet presents continuing problems in security and limitations in the content of services. Furthermore, most mobile equipment utilizes the touch pad input method. This input method is inconvenient when a user needs to input a long sentence. This has led to the more convenient development of image selection by using a pen mouse. In order to provide security under these conditions, a HASH code may be used to transmit an array of information and input values, created by the image input at the early stages. Thus, authentication and key exchange are completed securely. Messages are encoded and transmitted, preventing both information drain by insiders and interference from outside.

  • The Integration of agent technology and security technology is needed to many application areas like electronic commerce. This paper suggests a model of extended multi-agent engine which supports privacy, integrity, authentication and non-repudiation on agent communication. Each agent which is developed with the agent engine is composed of agent engine layer and agent application layer. We describe and use the concepts self-to-self messages, secure communication channel, and distinction of KQML messages in agent application layer and messages in agent engine layer. The suggested agent engine provides an agent communication language which is extended to enable secure communication between agents without any modifications or restrictions to content layer and message layer of KQML. Also, in the model of our multi-agent engine, secure communication is expressed and processed transparently on the agent communication language.

  • At present Content Management Systems (CMS) with various and diverse web contents have been in wide applications. But, for CMS of each enterprise has its own metadata which is very different from others, it causes the serious problem of web contents repetition. Also, it's a difficult technology to support protecting copyright of web contents which are in separated CMSs. Therefore, in this paper, we solved the problem of contents repetition through metadata integration between mutually heterogeneous CMSs. We also propose the technology of web contents authentication code for avoiding contents repetition and applying digital rights protection by supporting safe ship in vast quantity of contents.

Robust 3D Hashing Algorithm Using Key-dependent Block Surface Coefficient (키 기반 블록 표면 계수를 이용한 강인한 3D 모델 해싱)

  • With the rapid growth of 3D content industry fields, 3D content-based hashing (or hash function) has been required to apply to authentication, trust and retrieval of 3D content. A content hash can be a random variable for compact representation of content. But 3D content-based hashing has been not researched yet, compared with 2D content-based hashing such as image and video. This paper develops a robust 3D content-based hashing based on key-dependent 3D surface feature. The proposed hashing uses the block surface coefficient using shape coordinate of 3D SSD and curvedness for 3D surface feature and generates a binary hash by a permutation key and a random key. Experimental results verified that the proposed hashing has the robustness against geometry and topology attacks and has the uniqueness of hash in each model and key.
