The property of deep frying oil is one of the important factors in fried food quality. The purpose of this study is to identify the quality of deep frying oil in continuous usages for 4 days by two types of fryers: traditional deep-fat fryer and modified oil-water fryer. After frying pork cutlets, the frying oil was kept not only for several physical analyses such as color, viscosity, and water content but also for the quality analyses of frying oil, such as free fatty acid, double bond changes and oxidative rancidity formation. The oil fried in a traditional deep-fat fryer was significantly increased in terms of physical values including moisture content, viscosity, and color, compared to those of the modified fryer, continuously for 4 days. The oil fried by a traditional deep-fat fryer exhibited a significant increase in its free fatty acid content compared to that fried by a modified oil-water fryer, while the iodine value was significantly decreased in the oil fried by a traditional deep-fat fryer when compared to control oil and oil fried by the modified oil-water fryer. In the peroxide value as an indicator of primary oxidation products, the oil fried by both fryers was significantly increased till the second day but decreased in value after the third day because of unstable hydroperoxide decomposition. The p-anicidine value is used as an indicator of secondary oxidation products, the oil fried in a traditional deep-fat fryer was significantly increased in value compared to that of a modified oil-water fryer.
The Yeongheungdo shipwreck was excavated in the sea of Seomeopbeol, Ongjin-gun, Incheon, Korea. Chemical characterization of timbers from the shipwreck occurred via maximum moisture content, chemical composition, FT-IR, solid state $^{13}C$ NMR, and XRD analyses. As maximum moisture content of the outer part of the timbers averaged 623%, a phenomenon in that lignin increased relatively, according to the decrease in cellulose, and the ash content increased, which is typical of waterlogged archaeological wood was shown. The results from the FT-IR and solid state $^{13}C$ NMR analyses showed that the cellulose band of the outer part had disappeared or had remarkably decreased. In addition, the bands assigned to lignin dramatically increased. However, regarding the inner part of the timbers, hemicellulose and some crystalline cellulose and amorphous cellulose bands decreased. Therefore, a large difference exists between the degradation levels of the outer and inner parts of the timbers of the Yeongheungdo shipwreck.
Inducible expression system for the three structural proteins, capsid (C), precursor membrane (prM/M), and envelop (E) of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) was established in BHK-21 cells. Doxycycline, a tetracycline analog, was utilized as an inducer. Transfectants BHK-21/IV (vector only), BHK-21/IC (for C), BHK-21/IP3 (for prM), and BHK-21/IE1 (for E) were selected and cloned in the presence of G4l8 or hygromycin. Transcribed mRNAs for the corresponding genes were observed after doxycycline induction. Effects by the JEV structural gene expression on the transfectants were monitored via cell growth, chromatin condensation, internucleosomal DNA fragmentation, and DNA contents analyses. Clear cell growth retardation and chromatin condensation were observed in all three transfectants while only BHK-2/IC corresponded to the induction status in the DNA fragmentation and DNA content analyses. Combined results, therefore, suggested that JEV capsid protein should be one of the direct and independent factors in apoptotic cell death induced by IEV infection.
Among about 500,000 characters in metal types in National Museum of Korea, this study conducts a statistical analysis of 62 metal types from the early Joseon Dynasty, including 33 gabinja (甲寅字) types and 29 eulhaeja (乙亥字) Hangeul types by examining the shape, measuring the specific gravity, and identifying the components based on previously-studied Joseon metal types. Among them, 33 gabinja types and 24 eulhaeja types were made of two-component bronze (copper and tin) (Group A), and four eulhaeja types were produced with three-component bronze (copper, tin and lead). (Group B), and one eulhaeja type was created with two-component bronze (copper and tin) with a high tin content (Group C). By comparing with imjinja (壬辰字) types of the late Joseon Dynasty based on multiple statistical analyses of type components, this study confirms that late-Joseon types have low copper content and high zinc and lead content, and therefore it may be possible to distinguish between the types of early and late Joseon Dynasty.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to verify the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the General Attitudes towards Artificial Intelligence Scale (GAAIS-K) for nursing students. Methods: Data from 235 participants were collected from April 12 to April 26, 2022. A total of 230 participants' data were analyzed. The data were analyzed for content, discriminant, known-groups, and construct validity using content validity index, correlation coefficient, and confirmatory factor analyses. The reliability of the GAAIS-K was examined using internal consistency and test-retest analyses. Results: The expert-rated content validity index was ≥.80. The sub-scales of the GAAIS-K were moderately correlated with attitude toward accepting technology, indicative of its discriminant validity. The male students' positive attitude score was significantly higher than that of the female students, satisfying the known-groups validity. Cronbach's α for the scale was .86 (positive) and .74 (negative), and the intra-class correlation coefficient for the two-week test-retest reliability was .86 (positive) and .60 (negative). The scores for positive and negative attitudes were 3.68±0.46 and 3.05±0.55. Conclusion: This study shows that the GAAIS-K is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing nursing students. Additional research is recommended to continue the evaluation of the GAAIS-K with a focus on healthcare settings.
The purpose of this study was to develop a self-report scale measuring dysfunctional communication behaviors that Korean husbands and wives may use during marital fights. Based on the four concepts of criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling proposed by Gottman(1994a), an initial pool of 38 items was developed. Through expert reviews of the 38 items to assess content validity, preliminary 30 items were selected. Using a sample of 89 married couples who were living in Susan, Korea, we conducted item analyses and exploratory factor analyses with the 30 items. These analyses yielded a final 19-item, four-factor scale : criticism(5 items), contempt(5 items), defensiveness(5 items), and stonewalling(4 items). The internal consistency estimates for these subscales were satisfactory. Finally, using another sample of 228 wives, we conducted confirmatory factor analysis to confirm cross validity of the 19-item, four-factor model. The result indicated that this model fitted the data reasonably well. All standardized factor loadings were significant in this model. The results of this study supported reliability and validity of this scale.
The objective of this study is to empirically develop performance evaluation measures for LIS (logistics information systems) based upon BSC (balanced scorecard) model and determine the relative importance among four perspectives of BSC using AHP (analytic hierarchy process) methodology. Above all, forty nine probable measures for evaluating LIS performance were identified through reviewing the previous research related with SCM (supply chain management), logistics management, and information systems evaluation. And then, these probable measures were examined by means of coincidence analyses using three mutually exclusive criteria(validity of content, ease of measurement and reliability of measurement). Data for conducting the coincidence analyses were collected from LIS users and LIS development personnel. As the results of the coincidence analyses, it was found that 31 ones among 49 probable performance evaluation measures theoretically derived could be qualified for LIS performance evaluation. And AHP analysis showed that the weight of each perspective was respectively as follows : 46.8% for financial perspective, 31.3% for customer perspective, 14.8% for internal business process perspective, and 7.1% for learning and growth perspective. The academic contribution of this study is that performance evaluation measures for LIS could be systematically and empirically developed on the basis of BSC. Also, the results of this study are expected to be used as a practice guideline of evaluating and improving LIS.
In this paper. the research issues and trends are analysed by reviewing the journal of the Korea Society of IT Services which published from Dec. 2002 to Jun. 2010. The 306 papers which published were included in this project. The quantitative analyses were implemented about the volume of papers and researchers. The papers are categorized as project management. service science, service computing and IT technology, software engineering, solution, outsourcing management. element technology and methodology, strategy and management. policy, laws, and systems related IT services. Specially the qualitative analyses were implemented about research issues and trends through the content analysis about the paper details, abstract and key words described. We can find the more case of the theoretical study on the areas of the strategy and management, policy, laws, and systems, also the practical study on the service computing and IT technology, and solution area than the other areas. In this research, finally, the author can suggest that the integrated control be required to editing board for the effective classification of subjected paper candidate. Also the evaluation methodology such us experiment, performance comparative, should be adopted for the theoretical or practical study because the academic research requires the more scientific research methodology.
Plant-specific analyses of an advanced reactor have been performed to assure the structural integrity of the reactor pressure vessel during transient conditions, which are expected to initiate pressurized thermal shock (PTS) events. The vessel failure probabilities from the probabilistic fracture mechanics analyses are combined with the transient frequencies to generate the through-wall cracking frequencies, which are compared to the acceptance criterion. Several sensitivity analyses are performed, focusing on the orientations and sizes of cracks, the copper content, and a flaw distribution model. The results show that the integrity of the reactor vessel is expected to be maintained for long-term operation beyond the design lifetime from the PTS perspective using the design data of the advanced reactor. Moreover, a fluence level exceeding 9×1019 n/㎠ is found to be acceptable, generating a sufficient margin beyond the design lifetime.
The level at which analyses of DNA content might contribute more significantly to the genetic mechanisms of evolution lies in the events of speciation. The object of this study was to investigate the DNA content of abalone (Haliotis discus hannai) and determine the optimal tissue samples for measuring the DNA content of abalone by flowcytometry without fixation. The DNA content (pg/nucleus) of gill tissue (2.5±0.08), which was contaminated with protozoa, was significantly lower than that of muscle tissue (3.2±0.02), mantle tissue (3.2±0.02) (p<0.05), and a standard reference standard, while the DNA contents of muscle tissue and mantle tissue were higher than that of the standard reference. Considering the results of this study, DNA content analysis with flowcytometry is an acute and rapid method by which muscle tissue and mantle tissue are the most appropriate sample for measuring the DNA content of abalone without fixation.
