  • This paper describes the design and the analysis of electromagnetic system of Magnetic Switch using 2D parametric finite element method(EM-Pulse). Magnetic Switch is electrical equipment, which is widely used for switching on/off motors in industrial field. The transient state is simulated in order to calculate the response time of Magnetic Switch. The simulation is based upon a step-by-step integration of the electric circuit equations and the core movement. The contactor uses a permanent magnet for maintaining the closed state. The presented solution takes account of non-linear magnetic material property and spring force controlled by core position. The dynamic response of Magnetic Switch predicted by the simulation agrees closely with the required condition.

식품폐수 처리 단계별 미생물 대사지문 (Metabolic Fingerprinting of Food Wastewater Treatment System)

  • To determine structure and activities of microbial communities in a food wastewater treatment system, biofilm of RABC (rotating activated Bacillus contactor) and samples of aeration tanks were analyzed. Heterotrophic bacterial concentrations were similar between biofilm and stage 1 aeration tank and decreased 2-log at stage 3 aeration tank as dissolved oxygen decreased, however portions of Bacillus groups were increased at stage 3 aeration tank. It was revealed by quantitative and qualitative analysis of metabolic fingerprinting patterns of Biolog GN2 plate that RABC represented much higher activities and a different microbial community structure compared to aeration tanks. Metabolic fingerprinting showed the carbon sources that isolated Bacillus groups could or could not use, were used similarly meaning that not only Bacillus groups but also other microbial groups would contribute to the treatment of wastewater.

  • In this paper, a new type of electromagnetic actuator, an electro magnetic force driving actuator (EMFA) is developed and analyzed, applicable to air circuit breaker (ACB). Transient analysis is performed in order to obtain the dynamic characteristics of the EMFA. The distribution of static magnetic flux is obtained using the finite element method (FEM). The coupled problems of electrics and mechanics governing equations are solved using the time difference method (TDM). Also according to interception rate of each contactor, investigation about load condition of contactor spring is conducted, applied it to three-link system. And comparison about dynamic characteristics of three-link simulation and experiment data are performed.

전자접촉기 열화에 따른 전기적 특성 분석 (Analysis of Electrical Characteristics Due to Deterioration of Electromagnetic Contactor)

  • In this paper, the changes in the electrical characteristics (arc energy, contact resistance, and bouncing phenomenon) due to the deterioration of the contact are analyzed. The results are generally consistent and can be analyzed for contact deterioration. The results of the experiment demonstrate that the arc energy is linearly related to the current when the contact samples and the voltage conditions are the same. The contact resistance varies due to multiple factors, but is generally within a certain range, and the contact deterioration can be determined. Contact stabilization can be detected by the decrease in the bouncing phenomenon due to deterioration (the change of the shape of the contact).

  • 전자접촉기의 연구에 있어서 접촉부의 소재 및 재질에 따른 아크소호를 중심으로 연구가 되고 있으나, 최근 직류기기의 활용과 고속처리가 요구됨에 따라 접촉기의 동작속도가 중요시되고 있다. 일반적으로 AgSnO2소재가 AgCdO보다 응답특성이 우수하다고 알려져 있으나, 소재 특성 차원에서 알려져 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 전자접촉기의 완성품을 구성하여 AgSnO2소재와 AgCdO소재에 대하여 동작속도를 비교하도록 하였으며, 실험을 통해 검증하도록 하였다.

'Brine Management through brine mining of trace metals' for developing Secondary sources of nuclear fuel

  • The brine and seawater are important and largely untapped sources of critical trace metals and elements. The coupling of selective recovery of trace metals from seawater/brine with desalination plants gives an added advantage of energy credits to desalination plants and as well as reduce the cost of desalinated water. In this paper, status review on recovery of important trace metals and other alkali metals from seawater is presented. The potential of Indian desalination plants for recovery of trace metals, based on recovery ratio of 0.35 is also highlighted. Studies carried out by the process based on adsorption using Radiation Induced Grafted (RIG) polymeric adsorbents and then fractional elutions are presented. The fouling factors due to bio fouling and dirt fouling have been estimated for various locations of interest through field trails. The pay loader in the form of compact Contactor Assembly with minimum pressure drop, for loading specially designed radiation grafted sorbent in leaflet form has been briefed, as required for plant scale facility. The typical conceptual process design details of farm assembly of project CRUDE are described.
