  • In many practical lubricated contacts such as a rough concentrated contact on the sliding of nominally flat surfaces, the fluid may be of molecular (nanometer) scale owing to the asperity interactions on the surfaces. Under this condition, there is insufficient lubricant on the concentrated contact spot to maintain a realistic continuum. Rheological behavior for this kind of concentrated contact has been studied extensively to know whether the application of viscous fluid model is appropriate. The interaction of two rough surfaces is simplified as perfectly flat-rough surfaces contact under certain conditions by "composite topography" and for a nanometer scale fluid film, three kinds of rheological fluid behavior are analyzed in elastohydrodynamic asperity point contact.t contact.

Social Comparison Theory and Interpersonal Contact: The Influence of Incidental Envy on Contacting Higher or Lower Status Others

  • Incidental envy influences behavior in various domains. However, no research, to date, has investigated whether incidental envy influences interpersonal behavior toward others who are unrelated to the emergence of the emotion. That is, the literature is silent on how those who experience incidental envy engage in interpersonal contact and how this may affect consumers. In this paper, we address this question by investigating the influence of incidental envy on interpersonal contact with others of higher or lower status based on the social comparison theory. We demonstrate that incidental envy (versus a neutral emotion) motivates people to contact higher status others to facilitate upward assimilation (experiments 1 and 2). We also show that when competition (a situational factor that heightens the personal relevance of the interaction with the target) is involved, individuals who feel envy (versus a neutral emotion) are more likely to contact lower status others to engage in downward contrast (experiment 3). We conclude with a discussion of the practical implications of our findings.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influential variables related to the value orientation and environmental preservation behavior. This study is also to provide data for environment education. The subjects were 538 children, in June. 1998, in Kwangju. The data obtained were analyzed by Pearson's correlation. Cronbach's u coefficient. multiple regression. and Path analysis. The major findings were as follows : 1) The influential variables for childrens'egoistic value orientation were grade level of children and education level of mother The influential variables for childrens'altruistic orientation were the frequency of contact for environmental information and age of mother. The influential variables for childrens'biospheric orientation were education level of mother and the frequency of contact for environmental information. 2) The influential variables for the childrens'behavior on the environmental preservation were the frequency of contact for environmental information. biospheric orientation. grade level of children and education level of mother.

디스크 브레이크에서 마찰열과 패드에 작용하는 융합 접촉거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Convergence Contact Behavior of Friction Heat and Pad on Disk Brake)

  • 자동차 디스크 브레이크시스템에서는 열유속 및 열변형 등과 같은 이유로 마찰열이 균일하게 분산되지 않는다. 마찰열에 의한 열탄성 변형이 접촉압력 분포에 영향을 미치게 되고, 접촉하중이 디스크 브레이크 표면상의 작은 영역에 집중되어 열탄성 불안정성을 초래 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 실험적 계산식과 Kao 제안한 디스크와 패드의 접촉압력에 대한 해석방법을 참고로 하여 3차원 축대칭 모델을 통하여 실제로 제동 시 발생되는 디스크와 패드의 접촉을 고려한 온도해석 및 열변형 해석을 하였다. ANSYS를 사용하여 디스크와 패드의 접촉면에서 발생하는 열탄성 불안전성 문제를 열하중과 기계적 하중으로 동시에 고려하여 해석하였다. 디스크와 패드가 직접 접촉하는 3차원 축대칭 모델을 구성하여 디스크의 마찰면 온도, 열변형, 접촉 열응력을 관찰함으로써 디스크에서 일어나는 열적 거동을 보다 정확하게 관찰하였다.

팽창형 강관 록볼트의 암반 강성에 따른 정착 거동 특성 (Anchorage mechanism of inflatable steel pipe rockbolt depending on rock stiffness)

  • 팽창형 강관 록볼트의 설치 전 단면 형상은 ${\Omega}$형이어서, 팽창 중 거동은 기하학적 비선형 특성을 보인다. 기존 팽창형 강관 록볼트의 정착 거동에 관한 연구는 주로 이론적 방법이었다. 하지만 이론적 방법은 팽창형 강관 록볼트의 등방 팽창을 가정하므로, 실제 거동을 지나치게 단순화하였다. 본 연구에서는 강관 팽창 거동의 비선형성과 다양한 영향 특성을 고려한 수치해석을 이용하여, 팽창형 강관 록볼트의 정착 거동을 모사하였다. 본 해석을 통해 강관의 팽창 과정, 접촉응력 분포, 평균 접촉 응력 및 접촉 면적의 변화를 분석하였다. 암반의 탄소성 조건에 따라 강관의 접촉응력이 다르게 나타났는데, 탄성 조건의 암반에 설치된 강관에 비해 탄소성 조건의 암반에 설치된 강관에서 작은 접촉응력이 발생했다. 또한 암반의 강성에 따라 팽창형 강관 록볼트의 정착 거동이 달라졌다. 주어진 해석 조건에서 암반 강성이 0.5 GPa 이하 일 때 강관은 완전히 펴지지만, 암반 강성이 0.5 GPa보다 클 때 완전히 펴지지 않았다. 강관이 완전히 펴진 경우 암반 강성이 증가함에 따라 접촉응력의 크기가 증가했지만, 강관이 완전히 펴지지 않은 경우 암반 강성이 증가함에 따라 접촉응력의 크기가 감소했다.

알루미늄 평판 및 50 ㎛ 간격 격자 표면에 대한 에탄올 액적 충돌 거동 가시화 (Ethanol Droplet Impact Behavior Visualization on the Flat and 50㎛ grating groove Al Surface)

  • The droplet impact behavior is dominated by some parameters such as surface temperature, We number, surface and fluid property. Especially, Leidenfrost effect which prevents the contact between surface and droplet is very powerful phenomenon for determining droplet impact behavior. Due to this effect, the impact regime is divided into contact boiling regime and film boiling regime whether the droplet contact with the surface. Many studies have found that surface micro-structures which processed by surface processing are effective to overcome the Leidenfrost effect. In this study, droplet impact behaviors were compared using ethanol both on flat and laser-ablated Al surface. On the flat surface, impact regime was mainly divided by surface temperature. And there is key dominant parameter for each regime. On the laser-ablated surface, we could see changed impact regime and different impact behavior such as jetting and ejection of tiny droplets despite of same impact conditions.

부품간의 접촉을 고려한 유연체모델을 이용한 엔진 밸브트레인의 동특성 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of Engine Valve Train with Flexible Multibody Model Considering Contact between Components)

  • The dynamic characteristics of valve train are responsible for the dynamic performances of engine. We derived the equation of motion for 6 degrees of freedom model of the valve train. Computer model is also developed with flexible multibody model considering contact between components. The simulation results with these two models are compared with experimental results. We investigated the effect of the two spring models, TSDA (Translational Spring Damper Actuator) element and flexible body model, on the valve behavior and spring force. It is found that the dynamic behavior of the two models are not very different at normal operational velocity of the engine. By modeling contact between cam and tappet, the stress distributions of the cam were found. Using stress distribution obtained, contact width and contact stresses of the cam surface were calculated with Hertz contact theory.

  • This paper presents contact behavior of an Polyperfluoroalkoxyethylene(PTFE) ring seals by a non-linear finite element method using the thermomechanical analysis. PTFE elastomer was assumed as odgen model for numerical analysis in FEM commercial code because elastomer has nonlinear behaviour character. The shape effects are investigated for sealing performance of ring seal in boundary conditions which as gas pressure, groove temperature and various O-ring seal models. Also contact stress and equivalent total strain are investicated. An O-ring seals was modeled four shape which are circle, two sunflower and X. The highest contact stress occurs at sunflower-ring seal with groove deapth of 0.35mm. the equivalent total strain of sunflower-ring seal is lower than that of the others under low gas pressure condition but under gas pressure condition over 4Mpa, that of sunflower-ring seal is higher. The calculated FEM results shows that the Sunflower-ring seal with groove depth of 0.35mm has excellent performance compared with other seal models.

차세대 고속철 해석을 위한 훨레일 모듈 개발 (The development of wheel-rail contact module for the next generation express train)

  • From the view point of railway vehicle dynamics, the interaction between wheel and rail have an huge effect on the behavior of the vehicle. This phenomenon is an unique motion, only for railway vehicles. Furthermore, close investigation of the backgrounds of the interaction is the key to estimate the dynamic behavior of the vehicle, successfully. To evaluate the model including flexible bodies such as car body and catenary system of the next generation express train, it is necessary to develop proper dynamic solver including a wheel rail contact module. In this study, wheel-rail contact module is developed using the general purpose dynamic solver. First of all, the procedure for calculation of the wheel-rail contact force has been established. Generally, yaw angle of the wheelset is ignored. Sets of information are summarized as tables and splined for further uses. With this information, normal force and creep coefficient can be extracted and used for FASTSIM algorithm, which has been shown good reliability over years. Normal force and longitudinal, lateral force at the contact surface are also calculated. Those data are verified by commercial railway simulation program 'VAMPIRE'. This procedure and program can offer a basic process for estimation of the dynamic behavior and wear of the wheel-rail system, even while running on the curved rail. Finally, multi-dimensional inspection tool will be developed including the prediction of the derailment.
