  • When it comes to the development of a retail market, it has not only influenced the supply and sales of seafood, but it has also led to considerable changes in consumers' purchasing behavior and purchasing purposes. As consumers' incomes and lifestyles have improved, the tendency to purchase seafood has rapidly changed. In addition, the increase in two-income family incomes that resulted from women's active participation in society has increased the number of consumers purchasing home meal replacements (HMR) or convenience food rather than original food. With these changes in social-economic background and in consumers' needs, the purchase of seafood is gradually changing. As a result, companies are constructing diverse marketing strategies to satisfy their needs. Companies' marketing strategies have an immediate and vital effect on consumers' purchases of seafood. The most important and fundamental role is providing an opportunity for consumers to choose what to buy by being giving information and knowledge. In this paper, the purchasing behavior of consumers buying seafood will be examined with respect to their knowledge. First, which factors among a diverse range of marketing strategies exerted a significant impact on consumers' objectives and subjective knowledge was examined. Second, the study investigated which knowledge factors were important in influencing attitudes and purchasing purposes based on knowledge level. By comparing and analyzing factors related to consumers' knowledge with respect to seafood purchases, information is provided to inform companies about efficient strategies for marketing tactics.

Impact of YouTube Content Characteristics on Fashion Information Acceptance: Comparison by Information Provider (유튜브 콘텐츠 특성이 패션 정보 수용에 미치는 영향: 정보 제공 주체별 비교)

  • This study investigated the role of YouTube in providing fashion information and explored how fashion companies and individual YouTubers used this platform to communicate with consumers and disseminate fashion contents. This research identified two main types of YouTube information providers: fashion companies and fashion YouTubers. It focused on characteristics of YouTube fashion information (such as informativity, novelty, usefulness, authenticity, and enjoyment) and their impact on consumer needs satisfaction, information satisfaction, and information acceptance. An online survey was conducted with female consumers aged 20 to 39 years, analyzing responses to assess how YouTube fashion information affected consumer behavior and decision-making. Using SPSS for statistical analysis, results indicated that usefulness and enjoyment significantly influenced information acceptance, particularly with fashion companies showing a stronger impact from usefulness, while authenticity and enjoyment were more influential for fashion YouTubers. Moreover, mediating effects of consumer needs satisfaction and information satisfaction on the relationship between fashion information characteristics and information acceptance were examined. Findings revealed that various characteristics had different mediating effects based on whether the information provider was a fashion company or a fashion YouTuber. Notably, enjoyment and authenticity played crucial roles in mediating consumer needs satisfaction. Overall, this study provides insights into how YouTube serves as a vital channel for fashion information, influencing consumer satisfaction and behavior. It also offers practical implications for fashion marketers on how to leverage YouTube effectively to meet consumer needs and enhance information acceptance, thereby proposing strategic marketing recommendations for fashion companies and YouTubers.

  • Recently, the market of fiber and apparel industry is rapidly changing from producer to consumer oriented. This trend emphasizes the necessity of SCM systems being able to do flexible correspondences to the market changing through synthetically reflecting consumers' various needs and a variety of patterns. However, because traditional SCMs manage their supply chains being based on bar code systems from the production to the distribution, they are suffering from the needs of real time information sharing and have their essential restrictions in the response to the environmental changes of the market and consumers' needs. This paper suggests a new RFID based u-SCM system optimized into the fiber and apparel industry. The proposed system has the benefits that through basing on RPID can collect information of the production and the distribution real time and make better use of it and connect to the legacy systems organically via Web services and rapidly respond to the market changing and consumers' needs. Through implementation, it is demonstrated that the proposed system can effectively facilitate them.

Conjoint Analysis of User Needs in Mobile Payment Interface Design

  • With the advent of the Internet era, consumer lifestyles have been changed tremendously, and mobile payment has carried out an increasingly extensive coverage of the people's life trajectory. Taking the design of the mobile payment interface as an example, we use a conjoint analysis method to survey college students in Guangxi, where questionnaires are collected from 270 people in different groups according to gender. The method separates the attributes that affect consumer choice of mobile payment interface design and the utility value of the attribute level to analyze consumer needs and preferences, and then obtains consumers' potential evaluation criteria for mobile payment interface design. The results of the study show that the attributes that influence consumers' choice of mobile payment interface design are, in order of preference: page layout, identification convenience, verification, module distribution, entertainment, and information encryption. Consumer groups of different genders show differences in their preferences in the mobile payment interface design and Consumer needs reflect consumer psychology. Several findings are obtained on the consumers' preferences on the mobile payment interface design, which may be used to improve future design processes.

Stages of Change to Health Behavior and Health Information-Seeking Behavior of Health Application Users (건강 앱 이용자들의 단계적 건강행위변화와 정보탐색행태)

  • The present study aimed at investigating health information seeking behaviors of health information consumers who changed their health behaviors by using mobile health applications according to the dynamic stages of change. For this purpose, the study analyzed the changes of perception, health information needs and seeking behaviors of health information consumers in each stage by employing Stages of Change as a theoretical framework. A total of 30 college students participated in this study to change health behaviors such as smoking or alcohol cessation, and regular exercise, while using health applications for 3 months; then written interviews were conducted with these students based on their experiences. Findings indicated that the study participants used diverse information sources, including social media and the Internet, seeking for different types of sources of information according to information needs. Above all, the health information needs and seeking behaviors examined in active utilization of health applications by consumers in the stage of action suggest the implications of health information services, particularly through health applications. In addition, stress management and relapse that consumers experienced while attempting health behavior changes, and the positive and negative effects of behavior changes inform health information providers of insights for supporting consumers' changes of health behaviors.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study to explore factors consumers prioritize when purchasing seafood online. The originality of the study lies on adopting AHP-based approach in analyzing prioritized purchasing factors of seafood online. Design/methodology/approach - A survey was conducted targeting Korean consumers who have purchased seafood online. AHP method was applied to rank factors consumers prioritize before making decision. Findings - First, product's factor ranked first among other high level factors including delivery service, seller, online platform. Second, sanitation, taste, country of origin ranked first, second, third respectively, within product's factors. Third, safe delivery, timeliness, information accuracy ranked first, second, third respectively, within delivery factors. Fourth, consumer reviews, consumer response ability, promotion ranked first, second, third within seller factors. Fifth, Personal information management system, credibility, user-friendliness ranked first, second, third, within online platform factors. Research implications or Originality - To activate seafood online market, it is crucial to assure consumers that the seafood is well managed in a sanitary way from the production site to table. Existing government programs such as seafood traceability system, HACCP, and cold-chain infrastructure needs improvement. Due to highly perishable characteristic of seafood, delivery factors matter when purchasing online. Online platforms needs to continue to improve delivery service. Seafood products are mostly not branded and without objective information about their properties. Creating quality classification and seafood brands are likely to help consumers chose seafood online.

Information Searching Behavior for Medical Institutions of Spine Patients and Searching Outcomes (척추질환자의 의료기관 정보탐색행태와 탐색성과)

  • Background: Information asymmetry between physicians and patients is one of the most unique characteristics of health care. But as consumerism spreads in health care sector, health care consumers are searching comparative information about quality and cost of providers from many information sources. Providing comparative information to health care consumers not only makes consumers choose hospital rationally, but also invigorates the health care market by providers' competition. However there are few studies regarding information searching behavior of health care consumers, then this study is carried out. Methods: The purpose of this study is to understand the information searching behavior of health care consumers based on their characteristics and the types of medical institutions. For this purpose, 313 spinal patients' data of 11 medical institutions (university hospital, spine specialized hospital, clinic) located in Seoul were collected by self-administered surveys. Results: The results of this study are as follows: 1) t-test/analysis of variance analysis showed that according to various characteristics of health care consumers and the types of medical institutions, the level of information searching of each source and the amount of information searching and searching outcomes are statistically different. 2) Regression analysis showed that influence on searching outcomes are statistically different according to the level of information searching of each source and searching content and the amount of information searching has positive effects on searching outcomes. Conclusion: The significance of this study is to provide empirical basis for establishment of health care policy reflecting information needs and preference of health care consumers.

  • Many social and environmental changes emerged by the increasing of the number of the aged to entrance the aged society. This study explored the current supply status on Contents Technology R&D(research and development) of CT ministries and market policies(senior friendly industry) targeting to elderly consumers and the needs and demand of elderly generation to knowledge information technology. In, 2008, Ministries announced the sixth category of CT R&D's fundamental planning. The 'public culture service' to elderly and handicapped person is one of CT R&D category. This study investigated the information technology participation(internet participation rate, blog and internet cafe commitment) and contents technology to the elderly. The research indicated the desired needs of elderly consumers are creativity contents, emotional & experience and communication needs. These three factors of CT R&D to elderly consumers meets the needs non-game factors such as health, economic stability and information seeking in entertainment game.

Effects of Online Information Characteristics of Food Service Franchise on Enjoyment, Anxiety, and Visit Intention (외식프랜차이즈 기업의 온라인 정보특성이 즐거움, 불안, 방문의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - Generally, the consumer's decision-making process for restaurant selection is simple and familiar. However, online information becomes important because the decision-making process of consumers becomes complicated in new restaurants and special situations. Because consumers can search for information online, information retrieval is now possible in selecting new restaurants. In particular, consumers often make decisions based on online information when making restaurant reservations. Research design, data, and methodology - All items were measured based on previous studies. The data were collected from customers who had visited the store by visiting the web page of the food service franchise within the last 3 months for the panel of the online survey institute. The questionnaires were surveyed from July 2 to July 11, 2018 for about 10 days. A mail and a message were sent to 2,000 people, and 310 people were asked to complete the questionnaire. Total of 303 data were used in the questionnaire, excluding 7 insufficient data. Results - The findings of this study are as follows: Consensus, vividness, and neutrality have positive effects on enjoyment. Consensus have positive effect on anxiety, but vividness and neutrality did not have significant effect on anxiety. Also, enjoyment has a positive influence on intention to visit, and anxiety has a negative influence on visit intention. Conclusions - First, franchise companies online advertising in a variety of ways, but they are mixed with other customers' WOM and offered to consumers. In this case, the information provided by the company may be distorted. Therefore, a restaurant franchise company needs to operate an official online channel to provide accurate information to its customers. Second, it is necessary to make contents so that other customers can participate in online channels of food service franchise companies. Third, food service franchise company should produce enough online contents to experience indirectly even if the customer does not visit the store directly. Fourth, food service franchise company needs to prepare a way for many customers to participate in many official contents.

  • As our society has been moving from the industrial society towards the information society, individual consumers' unique needs which were concealed behind mass products and services have been revealing themselves. As for Internet businesses, they are requested to implement the 'individual marketing' which regards each consumer as a segment of market, while being pressured to meet consumers' needs at the level never accomplishable before. The purpose of this study was to review the gap between the progress of individualization and consumers' expectations on the Internet shopping malls centering around the apparel shopping malls - which are most obliged to satisfy the consumers who are extremely individualized - and thereupon, explore the directions for development of on-line shopping mall designs.
