The phase angle which is mainly depend on time constant $\tau$ of the calculable 10 A and 0.1 ${\Omega}ac/dc$ resistor has been analysed. The low values of resistors are usually inductive and time constant $\tau$ very large compare to high values of resistors. The numerical analysis has been shown that the time constant $\tau$ becomes zero when introduce the compensation capacitance geometrically to the resistive coil with proper dimension. As a result a very low phase angle can be achieved within the realizable dimensions.
This paper presents a detailed study focused on investigating the effects of silt content on the static and dynamic properties of sand-silt mixtures. Specimens with a low-plastic silt content of 0, 15, 30 and 50% by weight were tested in static triaxial, cyclic triaxial, and resonant columns in addition to consolidation tests to determine such parameters as compression index, internal friction angle, cohesion, cyclic stress ratio, maximum shear modulus, normalized shear modulus and damping ratio. The test procedures were performed on specimens of three cases: constant void ratio index, e = 0.582; same peak deviator stress of 290 kPa; and constant relative density, $D_r$ = 30%. The test results obtained for both the constant-void-ratio-index and constant-relative-density specimens showed that as silt content increased, the internal friction angle, cyclic stress ratio and maximum shear modulus decreased, but cohesion increased. In testing of the same deviator stress specimens, both cohesion and internal friction angle were insignificantly altered with the increase in silt content. In addition, as silt content increased, the maximum shear modulus increased. The cyclic stress ratio first decreased as silt content increased to reach the threshold silt content and increased thereafter with further increases in silt content. Furthermore, the damping ratio was investigated based on different silt contents in three types of specimens.
Variable displacement axial piston pumps are widely used for raising the energy level of the fluid in hydraulic systems. And the regulator is the device which regulates the discharge flow of the piston pump by controlling the swivel angle. The regulator receives the hydraulic pilot pressure and controls the pump output flow depending on the machine load and engine speed. This work deals with constant power control (horsepower control) in the design of a regulator by using a bent-axis type piston pump. In order to effectively use engine power, we must keep the horsepower from the engine to the pump constant. Therefore the regulator operates the constant power control. As a result, optimum power usage is obtained by accurately following the power hyperbola. This study focused on developing a simulation model of a regulator. First, the governing equations of the regulator are derived, and analysis is performed by computer simulation, which can identify significant parameters of regulator. As a result, the variation of the swivel angle, flow rate, hyperbolic curve, inner leakage and responsibility are simulated, and significant parameters of a regulator are identified.

Nucleate pool boiling experiments were performed using pure R11 for various surface angles under constant heat flux conditions during saturated pool boiling. A 1-mm-diameter circular heater with an artificial cavity in the center that was fabricated using a MEMS technique and a high-speed controller were used to maintain the constant heat flux. Bubble growth images were taken at 5000 frames per second using a high-speed CCD camera. The bubble geometry was obtained from the captured bubble images. The effects of the surface angle on the bubble growth behavior were analyzed for the initial and thermal growth regions using dimensional scales. The parameters that affected the bubble growth behavior were the bubble radius, bubble growth rate, sliding velocity, bubble shape, and advancing and receding contact angles. These phenomena require further analysis for various surface angles and the obtained constant heat flux data provide a good foundation for such future work.
We studied the effects of induction of natural convection instability flow (NCIF) according to the gravitational orientation (inclined angle) of the membrane cell on the reduction of membrane fouling in the constant-flow ultrafiltration (UF) of colloidal silica solutions. Five colloidal silica solutions with different silica size (average size = 7, 12, 22, 50 nm and 78 nm) were used as UF test solutions. The silica particles in colloidal solutions form cakes on the membrane surface thereby causing severe membrane fouling. The constant-flow UF performance according to the gravitational orientation of the membrane cell (from $0^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$ inclined angle), was examined in an unstirred dead-end cell. We evaluate the effects of NCIF on the suppression of fouling formation by measuring the variation of transmembrane pressure (TMP) and the increase of critical flux by using the flux-stepping method. In the constant-flow dead-end UF for the smaller size (7, 12 nm and 22 nm) silica colloidal solutions, changing the gravitational orientation (inclined angle) of the membrane cell above the $30^{\circ}$ angle induces NCIF in the membrane module. This induced NCIF enhances back transport of the deposited silica solutes away from the membrane surface, therefore gives for the reduction of TMP. But in the constant-flow UF for the more larger size (50 nm and 78 nm) silica colloidal solutions, NCIF effects are not appearing. The critical flux is increased as increasing the module angle and decreasing the silica size. Those results show that the intesity of NCIF occurrence in membrane module is more higher as increasing the module angle and decreasing the silica size.
The purpose of Part I of this study is to find the potential region of wear scarring on engine journal bearings operating at a constant angular crank shaft velocity under firing conditions. To do this, we calculate the applied loads and eccentricities of a big-end journal bearing installed on a four-stroke and four-cylinder engine at every crank angle. Then, we find potential wear regions, such as a minimum oil film thickness, at every crank angle below most oil film thickness scarring wear (MOFTSW) obtained based on the concept of the centerline average surface roughness. Thus, the wear region is defined as a set of each film thickness below the MOFTSW at every crank angle. In this region, the wear volume changes according to the wear depth and wear angle, depending on the minimum oil film thickness at every crank angle. The total wear volume is the summation during one cycle. Graphical views of the region in the two-dimensional coordinates show the crank angle and bearing angle along the journal center path, indicating the position of the minimum oil film thickness. The results of wear analysis show that the possible wear region is located at a few tens of angles behind the upper center of a big-end bearing at maximum power rpm.
We experimentally investigate the evaporation characteristics of water droplet on surfaces of various wettabilities in the range of contact angle from 30$^{circ}$ to 150$^{circ}$. When a liquid droplet on a solid surface evaporates, the contact angle generally decreases with time and the evaporation rate varies with the droplet geometry such as the contact angle and the radius of curvature. Experimental data on the contact angle as a function of the droplet volume obtained by digital image analysis techniques cannot be explained by the existing theories. By measuring the temporal evolutions of the droplet radius and contact angle, we find the qualitative difference between the evaporation patterns on the hydrophilic surfaces where the contact radius remains constant initially and those on the superhydrophobic surfaces where the contact angle remains constant. Also, the evaporation rate is observed to depend on the surface material although the currently available models assume that the rate is solely determined by the droplet geometry. Despite the fact that the theory to explain this dependence on the surface remains to be pursued by the future work, we give the empirical relations that can be used to predict the droplet volume evolution for each surface. It is expected that the present study will contribute to interpreting the effect of droplet geometry on the evaporation.
Background : This study was identified the effects of a video CD Rehabilitation program on the range of knee angle and activities of daily living in patients with a total knee replacement Method : The data was collected from March 1 to May 31 2009 for the control group and from July 1 to September 31 2009 for the experimental group. The control and experimental groups contained 19 subjects each. A video CD Rehabilitation program configured to 8 minutes in length was shown 8 times every other day. Result : 1. To construct the design back data for a lean-burn gas engine, we have designed a constant volume combustion chamber with sub-chamber. With constant volume ratio of main-sub combustion chamber and constant equivalence ratio of methane-air mixture, the influence of geometric configurations(diameter, injection angle, number, length) of passagehole upon combustion characteristics were studied. It was found that combustion characteristics in the main combustion chamber were greatly influenced by the injection angle and length of passagehole.
