Lactic acid bacteria had been widely utilized in fermented foods such as fermented dairy products, traditional sauces, kimchi, fermented sausages, medicines or probiotic feed additives for a long time. LAB are also widely distributed in the mammalian gastrointestinal tracts, oral cavity, vagina, and various foods or soils. The most familiar examples of using LAB would be the fermented milk products, and those had become one of the favorite foods in Korea f3r more than 34 years of history. The main benefits of the fermented milk products were originally the improvement of the balance of intestinal flora to control diarrhea and congestion disorders, and gradually, they were chosen by the consumer preference of the taste. The very beginning of the fermented milk products in Korea was the Yakult type products in 1971, and it was the commencement of the solid foundation of the dairy industry and the understanding beneficial effect of probiotic yogurt. After middle of 80's, stirred type fermented milk products had been firstly produced, and it was the time that the domestic dairy industry took root in Korea. From 90's, functional fermented milk products were produced, and drink type yogurt sales a mount increased drastically, and these products began to be chosen not only with the values of nutrition but also with physiological functions. The health claims are classified into intestinal health, gastric health and hepatic health. The prospects for the Korean market are as follows; The majority of leading products would be the premium functional yogurt products as it was last year. It is because the sales of lower cost products shows slow-down, and industries tend to increase the commercial advertisements of premium functional yogurt products through mass media. These tendencies would make the market situation become more competitive.
This experiment was performed to investigate apoptosis during undergoing pathogenesis of avian infectious bronchitis virus(IBV)-infected chicks. Sixteen days old chicks were infected with IBV, Massachusetts-41 strain(M-41, 10$^4$-10$^{5}$ EID$^{50}$ ) experimentally, they were autopsied to remove trachea, lung, kidney and cloacal bursa at 6hr, 12hr, 1 day, 3 day and 7 day post infection(PI) respectively for H-E and TUNEL staining. Grossly, mild serous, catarrhal exudate was observed in the trachea, nasal passages and sinuses nasal from 4 day PI. The cloacal bursa was swollen from 3 day PI. Histopathologically, the trachea was seen mild cellular infiltration, edema of the mucosa and submucosa, vascular congestion and mild hyperplasia of the epithelium from 6 hr PI and the changes were seen a little more severely on 7 day PI. It was observed that the cloacal bursa was getting more and more hyperplasia through the experiment. The nuclei degeneration were shown in the kidney on 7 day PI. No specific changes were seen in the lung. In TUNEL analysis, apoptotic cells showed sharp increasing at 12 hr PI and reaching a maximum on 1 day PI in the trachea, lung, kidney and cloacal bursa. And then apoptotic cells decreased gradually returning to a level of the control by 7 day PI in all the removed organs.

Due to the depletion of fossil fuels and the increase in environmental pollution, electric vehicles are attracting attention as next-generation transportation and are becoming popular all over the world. As the interest in electric vehicles and the penetration rate increase, studies on the charging infrastructure with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and information technology are actively under way. In particular, communication with the grid network is the most important factor for stable charging and load management of electric vehicles. However, with the existing centralized infrastructure, there are problems when control-message requests increase and the charging infrastructure cannot efficiently operate due to slow response speed. In this paper, we propose a new charging infrastructure using mobile edge computing (MEC) that mitigates congestion and provides low latency by applying distributed cloud computing technology to wireless base stations. Through a performance evaluation, we confirm that the proposed charging infrastructure (with low latency) can cope with peak conditions more efficiently than the existing charging infrastructure.

The texts of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" explains Hakjil(瘧疾) in detail, especially in the "Jahak(刺瘧)" chapter, where bloodletting treatment is applied in many cases. The following paper categorized and organized Hakjil(瘧疾) cases treated by bloodletting methods, then analyzed applicable subjects and appropriate time for the procedure based on the texts. Afterwards, the mechanism for the cessation of Hakjil(瘧疾) seizures was examined. The findings of this research are as follows. 1. In the contents of "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)", the appropriate time for acupuncture and bloodletting procedure is when Hakjil(瘧疾) seizures start to present themselves. 2. When a seizure takes place as a symptom of the body getting rid of the Hak(瘧) pathogen, Yanggi(陽氣) rushes to the locus of the pathogen, causing congestion of Gi(氣) and Blood(血) resulting in static blood[瘀血]. Therefore, bloodletting at the time of seizure initiation helps the flow of Gi(氣) and Blood(血), preventing the rush of Yanggi(陽氣). This is a restoration of the balancing function of Eum(陰) and Yang(陽), which indicates that bloodletting not only promotes smooth flow of Gi(氣) and Blood(血), but extends its effects to mental functions that balances Eum(陰) and Yang(陽). 3. Although Hakjil(瘧疾) seizures are presented in terms of Gi(氣) and Blood(血) in symptoms such as chill and fever[寒熱], static blood[瘀血], pain, etc., a fundamental disturbance in mental functions that control cold and heat seems to be present.
Objectives: Ephedrae herba, also known as Ma-huang, is a traditional Korean medicinal herb. It has been used to treat asthma, nose and lung congestion, and fever with anhidrosis for centuries. Recently, Ma-huang was used as a source of ephedrine in many dietary supplements for weight reduction in the United States. The objective of this study was to investigate the subacute toxicity of ephedrae herba extract in rats. Methods: SPF Sprague-Dawley male rats were administered orally with ephedrae herba extract for 4 weeks as several doses(0, 125, 250, 500, 1,000, and 2,000 mg/kg). We examined number of deaths, clinical signs, body weights and gross findings for experimental period. Results: No dead animals were found during the experimental period. In addition, no differences were found between control and treated groups in clinical signs, hematology, serum biochemistry, and other findings. Conclusions: In conclusion, above data suggest that no observed adverse effect level of ephedrae herba extract in SD rats might be over 2,000 mg/kg/day in this study.

In B-ISDN(Broadband Integrated Services Digital Networks), the efficient implementation of multicast function is very important since the demand for distributed type of service such as VOD(Video On Demand) system is expected to grow. In this paper, the multicast performance characteristics of fully-interconnected switch fabric used for our research is the proper architecture for a small-sized switch element, and it uses bit addressing method for addressing scheme and thus it is easy to implement multicast function without adding a function block. To incorporate the bursty nature of traffic in ATM networks, we used IBP(Interrupted Bernoulli Process) model as an input traffic model. We presented and analyzed the simulation results in terms of the multicast operation of the switch. Based. on this study, it its analyzed that congestion avoidance may be feasible if we use a proper traffic control scheme by finding an overload point due to multicast.

The one of features of M2M communications, which are recently attracted attention as a future business of mobile communications, is that there is a large number of devices compared with traditional communication services. Hence, the control signal that are generated by the M2M devices may cause a significant congestion in the network and in order to solve this problem, a standardization is progressing for reducing the redundant signaling by managing M2M devices as a group in 3GPP standardization. In this paper, we propose a method of group based mobility management by managing M2M devices that have the same mobility as a group. In the proposed method, M2M devices that have the same mobility are grouped by the Mobility Management Entity (MME) and the MME elects a group header among the M2M devices in the group. Then, the group header performs the Tracking Area Update (TAU) on behalf of the group members to reduce the signaling overhead of mobility management. With the proposed method, we can achieve 80% decrease of the signaling overhead of mobility management compared with the case where each M2M device individually performs its TAU procedure.
This study was to investigate single and repeated-dose toxicities of CJ-11555, an anticirrhotic agent, in Sprague-Dawley (SO) rats. In single-dose oral toxicity study, the test article were administered once by gavage to males and females at dose levels of 0 and 2,000 mg/kg. No dead animals and abnormal necropsy findings were found in control and CJ-11555 treated group. Therefore, the approximate lethal dose of CJ-11555 was considered to be higher than 2,000 mg/kg in rats. In the 4-week repeated oral toxicity study, the test article was administered once daily by gavage to male and female rats at dose levels of 0, 10, 50 and 200 mg/kg/day for 4-weeks. In clinical signs, yellow-colored urine and yellow hair coat were observed in the 50 and 200 mg/kg male and female groups. In hematology, erythrocyte count and hemoglobin were significantly decreased in the 200mg/kg male and female groups. In serum biochemistry, total cholesterol was significantly increased and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) was significantly decreased in the 50 or 200 mg/kg male and female groups. In histopathological examinations, centrilobular hepatocellular hypertrophy in the liver, congestion and pigmentation in the spleen, hyaline droplets in the kidney were observed in the 50 and 200 mg/kg male and female groups. In toxicokinetic study, CJ-11555 was dose-dependent in systemic exposure and showed better absorption in female with minimum accumulation after multidosing. Based on these results, it was concluded that the 4-week repeated oral dose of CJ-11555 resulted in the suppression of AST activity and centrilobular hepatocellular hypertrophy in both sexes at a dose level of 50 or 200 mg/kg/day. The target organ was estimated to be liver, spleen and male's kidney. The no-observed-adverse-effect level (NOAEL) for CJ-11555 in rats following gavage for at least 4-week is 10 mg/kg/day.

In the draft of the IEEE 802.11s standard, a tree topology is established by the proactive tree-building mode of the Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP). It is used for cases in which the root station (e.g., gateway) is an end point of the majority of the data connections. In the tree topology, the root or central stations (e.g., parent stations) are connected to the other stations (e.g., leaves) that are one level lower than the central station. Such mesh stations are likely to suffer heavily from contention in bottleneck links when the network has a high traffic load. Moreover, the dependence of the network on such stations is a point of vulnerability. A failure of the central station (e.g., a crash or simply going into sleep mode to save energy) can cripple the whole network in the tree topology. This causes performance degradation for end-to-end transmissions. In a connected mesh topology where the stations having two or more radio links between them are connected in such a way that if a failure subsists in any of the links, the other link could provide the redundancy to the network. We propose a scheme to utilize this characteristic by organizing the network into concentric tiers around the root mesh station. The tier structure facilitates path recovery and congestion control. The resulting mode is referred to as Tier-based Proactive Path Selection Mode (TPPSM). The performance of TPPSM is compared with the proactive tree mode of HWMP. Simulation results show that TPPSM has better performance.
In a wireless network, TCP causes the performance degradation because of mistaking packet loss, which is caused by characteristics of wireless link and throughput oscillation due to change of devices connected on a limited bandwidth. Delay based TCP is not affected by packet loss because it controls window size by using the RTT. Therefore, it can solve the problem of unnecessary degradation of the rate caused by misunderstanding reason of packet loss. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for improving the remaining problems by using delay based TCP. The proposed scheme can change throughput adaptively by adding the RTT, which rapidly reflects the network conditions to BaseRTT. It changes the weight of RTT and the increases and decreases window size based on the remaining amount of the buffer. The simulation indicated that proposed scheme can alleviate the throughput oscillation problem, as compared to the legacy TCP Vegas.
