  • The Distribution Automation System(DAS) Master Station(MS) is the core of the system, which has the functions of supervising, data acquisition, processing and man-machine interface. Collision-Free Path Planning for a Redundant Manipulator Based on PRM and Potential Field Methods (PRM과 포텐셜 필드 기법에 기반한 다자유도 머니퓰레이터의 충돌회피 경로계획)

  • The collision-free path of a manipulator should be regenerated in the real time to achieve collision safety when obstacles or humans come into the workspace of the manipulator. A probabilistic roadmap (PRM) method, one of the popular path planning schemes for a manipulator, can find a collision-free path by connecting the start and goal poses through the roadmap constructed by drawing random nodes in the free configuration space. The path planning method based on the configuration space shows robust performance for static environments which can be converted into the off-line processing. However, since this method spends considerable time on converting dynamic obstacles into the configuration space, it is not appropriate for real-time generation of a collision-free path. On the other hand, the method based on the workspace can provide fast response even for dynamic environments because it does not need the conversion into the configuration space. In this paper, we propose an efficient real-time path planning by combining the PRM and the potential field methods to cope with static and dynamic environments. The PRM can generate a collision-free path and the potential field method can determine the configuration of the manipulator. A series of experiments show that the proposed path planning method can provide robust performance for various obstacles.

Distributed Address Configuration Mechanism Using Address Pool in MANET (MANET 환경에서 주소 영역기반 주소할당 분산기법)

  • As it becomes increasingly important that Internet access is available anywhere at any time, providing MANET (Mobile Ad-Hoc Network) with the Internet access attracts more attention. The existing DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) address configuration schemes require message exchanges between MANET nodes and the DHCP server through multi-hop routes. Messages can be easily dropped in the wireless multi-hop communication environment and the address configuration may be instable and need long delay. In this paper, we propose a new address configuration scheme using the concept of address pool allocation. In the proposed scheme, the DHCP server assigns a part of its address pool to a node instead of a single address and the node can assign a part of its own address pool to its neighbor nodes. Through simulation studies, we show that our scheme yields about 77% of the address configuration delay and 61% of the control message overhead of the existing DHCP based mechanism.

  • There have been lots of researches for providing a personalized service to a customer using one-to-one marketing and collaborative filtering techniques in E-Commerce. However, there are technical difficulties for providing the recommendation of products far users, which often involve high complexity of computation. In this paper, we have presented an integrated method of classification problem solving method and constraint based configuration techniques. This method can reduce a complexity of computation by classifying a solution domain space that has a higher complexity of composition. Thereafter, we have modeled customers constraints and the components of products to configure a complete system by passing it to constraint processing module in Constraint Satisfaction Problems. Constraint-based configuration uses the constraint propagation using the constraints of buyers and the constraints among PC components to configure a proper product for a customer. We have transformed and applied vector space modeling method in the field of information retrieval to consider a customer satisfaction in addition to the CSP. Finally, we have applied our system to test data fur evaluating a customers satisfaction and performance of the proposed system.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive resource self-management system that collects system resources, user information, and usage patterns as context information for utilization in self-configuration. This system ill ease the system maintenance burden on users by automation of large part of configuration tasks such as install, reconfiguration and update, and will also decrease cost and errors. Working from the gathered context information, this system allows users to select appropriate components and install them for user's system context. This also offers a more personalized configuration setting by using user's existing application setting and usage pattern. To avoid the overload on central server to transfer and manage related files, we employ Peer-to-Peer method. h prototype was developed to evaluate the system and a comparison study with the conventional methods of manual configuration and MS-IBM systems was conducted to validate the proposed system in terms of functional capacity, install time and etc.

  • This paper proposes a dynamic IP address configuration (DAC) scheme for mSCTP handover, which exploits the information from the link layer to support SCTP handover between heterogeneous access networks. The proposed DAC scheme enables a mobile terminal to automatically add a new IP address in the newly visited region, change the primary path, and delete the old IP address so as to support the mSCTP handover. For experimental analysis of mSCTP handover, we consider the handover scenarios for 3G-BWA and 3G-WLAN over Linux platforms. From experimental results, it is shown that the throughput and handover latency of the mSCTP handover would be affected by the timing of primary-change and the overlapping period.

  • In this paper, we propose a neural network processor architecture with on-chip learning and with reconfigurability according to the data dependencies of the algorithm applied. For the neural network model applied, the proposed architecture can be configured into either SIMD or SRA(Systolic Ring Array) without my changing of on-chip configuration so as to obtain a high throughput. However, changing of system configuration can be controlled by user program. To process activation function, which needs amount of cycles to get its value, we design it by using PWL(Piece-Wise Linear) function approximation method. This unit has only single latency and the processing ability of non-linear function such as sigmoid gaussian function etc. And we verified the processing mechanism with EBP(Error Back-Propagation) model.

  • A SIL(Safety Integrity Level) assignment method is used for preventing failure action. The goal of safety system for processing automation is to reduce the human fatal risk. Even if we have developed the processing automation according to developing technology, we are also realized on increasing the human fatal risk cause of unexpected accidents. This study is directed the solution of decision for safety level for safety system and the best architecture for safety system in process automation.

  • 최근 소프트웨어 개발 및 운영 환경은 C/S, 분산환경, 다중 플랫폼, 다양한 방법론 등으로 매우 복잡해지고 있으며 이러한 환경에서 만들어지는 모든 리소스들을 효율적으로 관리한다는 것은 쉽지 않은 일이다. 이에 따라 최근 몇 년 동안 국내의 개발환경에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 소프트웨어 형상관리(SCM: Software Configuration Management)시스템들이 개발되고 있다. 그러나 지금까지의 형상관리시스템들은 버전관리, Build 관리, 작업공간관리, 프로세스관리들에 국한되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴포넌트의 형상관리에 대한 방법을 제시하고 있다. 먼저, 컴포넌트의 정보를 리파지토리에 저장하여 관리한다 리파지토리에 저장된 정보를 이용하여 컴포넌트의 버전, 크기, 개발환경, 데이터베이스, 만든 날짜, 수정날짜, 엑세스한 날짜들을 파악할 수 있다. 또한 컴포넌트가 실행 될 때 연동되어 사용되는 컴포넌트 객체들을 파악할 수 있으며, 그 access 빈도수를 도표화하여 개발자나 관리자가 모니터링이 가능하도록 지원한다.

  • 최근들어 IT 산업이 급속도로 발전하면서, 리소스가 제한된 작은 기기들의 사용이 비약적으로 증가하는 추세에 있다. 이들 기기들에 플랫폼 독립성(Platform Independency), 보안성(Security), 이동성(Mobility) 등의 장점을 포함하고 있는 자바 환경을 적용하려는 연구가 계속되고 있는데, 자바 환경의 핵심인 자바가상머신(Java Virtual Machine: JVM) 임베디드 시스템이나 모바일 시스템과 같이 작고, 자원이 제한적인 장치에 탑재하기에 너무 큰 용량(footprint)을 차지한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 좀더 경량화한 가상머신이 필요하였다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크 연결 능력이 있고 적은 리소스를 가진 다양한 기기들에 적합한 최소 크기의 표준 자바 플랫폼에 대한 Configuration 인 CLDC(Connected, Limited Device Configuration)에서 정의하고 있는 K가상머신(K Virtual Machine: KVM)에 대해 분석하고 설계한 내용을 기술하고 있다.
