Glossy architectural concrete means high qulity concrete which develops marble-like gloss on the surface of concrete. In spite of many benefits of architectural concrete to R.C. structure such as appearance of natural stone, saving of envelope materials and reduction of building weight, the failure of in-situ application of architectural concrete by the absence of knowledge on the physical properties and form work for it can often be found in Korea. This study is to offer the basic materials on the mix proportion, vibrating, curing and treatment of concrete result from the mock up test and in-situ application of architectural concrete to embody high quality architectural concrete in Korea.

Considerable efforts are still being made in the every part of the world to develop new construction materials. The polymer concrete is one of those promising new construction materials. The strength characteristics of fiber-reinforced polymer methods and filler contents on the properties of polymer concrete were explored. The effects of fiber addition are also discussed.

For giving self-diagnosing capability, a method based on monitoring the changes in the electrical resistance of carbon materials in strengthened concrete has been tested. Then after examining change in the value of electrical resistance of carbon materials used as a rib of CFGFRP or a sheet of carbon fiber before and after the occurrence of cracks and fracture in hybrid FRP or carbon fiber sheet strengthened concrete at each flexural weight-stage, the correlations of each factors were analyzed.

The analytical model is developed in order to predict the nonlinear flexural responses of bonded and unbonded prestressed concrete beam which contains advanced composite materials. The block concept is used, which be regarded as an intermediate modeling method between the couple method with one block and the layered method with multiple sliced blocks in a section. The model can successfully predict the flexural behavior of variously reinforced prestressed concrete beams.

In these days, as building structures are getting taller, larger, and more diversified, structural systems with more economy and more efficiency are being required and so are more efficient building materials, this study conducted a basic experiment to conclude an adequate selection of materials and to calculate an optimal mixing proportion of those materials to produce High-strength concrete in a 100MPa of specified concrete strength. And also we conducted an experiment to find out basic properties of this concrete such as slump-flow, strength.

This paper investigates on the use of advanced optical measurement methods, i.e. 3D coordinate measurement machines (3D CMM) and stereo-vision digital image correlation (3D DIC), for the mechanical analysis of shear deficient prestressed concrete members. Firstly, the experimental program is elaborated. Secondly, the working principle, experimental setup and corresponding accuracy and precision of the considered optical measurement techniques are reported. A novel way to apply synthesised strain sensor patterns for DIC is introduced. Thirdly, the experimental results are reported and an analysis is made of the structural behaviour based on the gathered experimental data. Both techniques yielded useful and complete data in comparison to traditional mechanical measurement techniques and allowed for the assessment of the mechanical behaviour of the reported test specimens. The identified structural behaviour presented in this paper can be used to optimize design procedure for shear-critical structural concrete members.

Recently new materials, such as fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) and other composite materials are being applied in reinforcing plate or plate or prestressing cables of concrete structures. Although these new materials themselves show the excellent durability and high strength, the bond behaviour between concrete surface and FRP is not well recognized. Therefore, this paper propose a evaluation method for effective bond length between fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) and concrete. To develop the evaluation method, this paper presents a review of current evaluation methods for effective bond length. These methods are compared by single face test, expose merits and demerits. And based on them, new evaluation method was developed. Finally, the new method was compared with existing methods to verify a adequateness for evaluation of effective bond length.

This study was performed to verify the impact resistance of concrete using coal ash and fiber new materials. As the results of study, the impact resistance of concrete decreased as the mixing ratio of coal ash increased. When the fiber new materials(GF, HPSF) were mixed to the concrete, its resistance was increased.
