  • In response to the continuously increasing demand for air travel, various studies are being conducted. This research focuses on the design of a simulation model for improving airport slot allocation in the strategic phase. It addresses three aspects of model design, introducing considerations such as the objective function. Additionally, it explains the conceptual procedures for the overall simulation operation and detailed processes within the model including input and output data. Emphasizing the SAL, this study excludes policy and qualitative judgments from its scope. The target airport for application will be confirmed in future research. This study marks a crucial first step toward optimizing air traffic flow, with expectations of contributing to the enhancement of operational efficiency at airports.

  • 본 논문은 위성 통신시스템의 개념 설계를 위한 프로그램 개발과 설계 과정의 분석 결과를 보여준다. 이를 위해 10kg에서 200Kg 사이의 200여개 저궤도 소형위성을 대상으로 데이터베이스를 구축하였고, 이를 바탕으로 위성 통신시스템 초기 설계 시 필요한 파라미터들의 일반적인 값을 도출하여 적용하였다. 위성의 임무에 상관없이 일반적인 위성 통신 시스템의 개념 설계와 일련의 과정을 일반화한 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 일반적인 초기 통신시스템 설계과정을 프로그램으로 구현하기 위해 각각의 과정을 구분하고 과정마다 필요한 파라미터들을 정의하였다. 또한 데이터베이스 분석을 통해 파라미터가 개념 설계에 적용되는 과정을 살펴보고 이를 프로그램으로 구현하여 시뮬레이션을 통해 전체 알고리즘에 대한 타당성을 증명하였다.

동력분산형 차세대고속전철의 충돌안전도 개념설계 연구 (A Study on Conceptual Design for Crashworthiness of the Next Generation High-speed EMU)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내철도차량안전기준의 충돌안전 요구사항을 만족하는 동력 분산형 고속전철의 충돌안전도 개념설계에 대하여 연구하였다. 국내안전기준에는 36km/h 열차 대 열차 충돌, 15ton 변형체 장애물과 110km/h 충돌 등 2가지 중충돌 사고에 대한 충돌안전성능을 요구한다. 한국형 분산형 차세대고속열차는 17ton 축중의 동력집중형 KTX와 달리 13ton 축중을 가지는 2TC-6M로 구성된다. 이론적 수치적 해석을 통하여 주요 압괴구조 및 부품의 평균압괴하중과 변형량을 에너지 흡수 관점에서 충돌안전도 개념설계안으로 도출하였다. 도출된 개념 설계안은 1차원 막대-스프링-댐퍼-질량 동역학 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 국내 충돌안전기준을 잘 만족시킬 수 있음을 보였다.

SBA를 위한 아키텍처 프레임워크 개념모델에 관한 연구 (Research on a Conceptual Model of Architecture Framework for Simulation based Acquisition)

  • Simulation-based acquisition(SBA)는 획득의 제단계에 모델링 및 시뮬레이션(M&S)를 적용함으로써 획득기간을 단축하고 무기체계 총 소유비용을 낮추며 소요군이 요구하는 성능목표를 가진 무기체계를 획득하고자 하는 새로운 획득 패러다임이다. 우리 군이 SBA의 정착을 위해 다각도의 노력을 기울이고 있음에도 불구하고 SBA의 성공적인 실행을 보장해 주는 청사진 역할을 하는 SBA 아키텍처 프레임워크에 대한 연구는 미진한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 MND-AF를 기반으로 SBA 아키텍처 프레임워크 개념모델을 제안하였으며, 우리 군의 획득 프로세스를 근간으로 운영 뷰에 대한 모델링을 수행하였다. 또한 운영 뷰에 포함된 각종 운영활동들이 임무 완수를 위해 활용하게 될 도구와 기술을 식별했으며, 데이터들간의 상호운용성을 보장해주는 표준화된 데이터 모델을 제안해 시스템 뷰에 포함시켰다. 특히 시스템 뷰에는 통합사업 관리팀과 운영활동의 주체들이 분산되어 있는 M&S 도구들을 활용할 수 있는 SBA AF 포털이 포함되어 있다. 또한 SBA 아키텍처 프레임워크 개념모델에는 기술 뷰와 아키텍처 구축을 위한 최상위 지침서로서의 역할을 하는 올 뷰가 포함되어 있다.

  • Technical approach on the modeling, simulation and experimentation methods, which are applied for developing a constructive simulation and engagement experimentation software for supporting light weight torpedo operational tactics study, is introduced. Conceptual modeling for the weapon engagement and simulation entities, mathematical models for the simulation elements, approach for the design of experimentations are described, and screen shots of the software are also presented as some example results of experimentation and analysis. It is found that the simulation and experimentation results are useful to support and fulfill the mission needs and requests. As a consequence, the technical approach is rated to be appropriate to accomplish the dedicated purpose of the simulation and experiments.

  • Within the framework of the ASTRID project, core design studies are being conducted by the CEA with support from AREVA and EDF. The pre-conceptual design studies are being conducted in accordance with the GEN IV reactor objectives, particularly in terms of improving safety. This involves limiting the consequences of 1) a hypothetical control rod withdrawal accident (by minimizing the core reactivity loss during the irradiation cycle), and 2) an hypothetical loss-of-flow accident (by reducing the sodium void worth). Two types of cores are being studied for the ASTRID project. The first is based on a 'large pin/small spacing wire' concept derived from the SFR V2b, while the other is based on an innovative CFV design. A distinctive feature of the CFV core is its negative sodium void worth. In 2011, the evaluation of a preliminary version (v1) of this CFV core for ASTRID underlined its potential capacity to improve the prevention of severe accidents. An improved version of the ASTRID CFV core (v2) was proposed in 2012 to comply with all the control rod withdrawal criteria, while increasing safety margins for all unprotected-loss-of-flow (ULOF) transients and improving the general design. This paper describes the CFV v2 design options and reports on the progress of the studies at the end of pre-conceptual design phase 1 concerning: - Core performance, - Intrinsic behavior during unprotected transients, - Simulation of severe accident scenarios, - Qualification requirements. The paper also specifies the open options for the materials, sub-assemblies, absorbers, and core monitoring that will continue to be studied during the conceptual design phase.

Conceptual design of small modular reactor driven by natural circulation and study of design characteristics using CFD & RELAP5 code

  • A detailed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation analysis model was developed using ANSYS CFX 16.1 and analyzed to simulate the basic design and internal flow characteristics of a 180 MW small modular reactor (SMR) with a natural circulation flow system. To analyze the natural circulation phenomena without a pump for the initial flow generation inside the reactor, the flow characteristics were evaluated for each output assuming various initial powers relative to the critical condition. The eddy phenomenon and the flow imbalance phenomenon at each output were confirmed, and a flow leveling structure under the core was proposed for an optimization of the internal natural circulation flow. In the steady-state analysis, the temperature distribution and heat transfer speed at each position considering an increase in the output power of the core were calculated, and the conceptual design of the SMR had a sufficient thermal margin (31.4 K). A transient model with the output ranging from 0% to 100% was analyzed, and the obtained values were close to the Thot and Tcold temperature difference value estimated in the conceptual design of the SMR. The K-factor was calculated from the flow analysis data of the CFX model and applied to an analysis model in RELAP5/MOD3.3, the optimal analysis system code for nuclear power plants. The CFX analysis results and RELAP analysis results were evaluated in terms of the internal flow characteristics per core output. The two codes, which model the same nuclear power plant, have different flow analysis schemes but can be used complementarily. In particular, it will be useful to carry out detailed studies of the timing of the steam generator intervention when an SMR is activated. The thermal and hydraulic characteristics of the models that applied porous media to the core & steam generators and the models that embodied the entire detail shape were compared and analyzed. Although there were differences in the ability to analyze detailed flow characteristics at some low powers, it was confirmed that there was no significant difference in the thermal hydraulic characteristics' analysis of the SMR system's conceptual design.

  • The DAWAST model was originally developed to consider daily variation in the unsaturated soil water storage and it is a conceptual lumped model. Return flows from agricultural, domestic and industrial water were included to the original result of model simulation to calibrate model parameter. Daily inflow to the Daechung multipurpose dam was applied to verify the DAWAST model considered return flows. Simulation results were comparable to the inflows of dam operation reasonably.

  • With the progress of science and technology, animation is no longer about simply describing the nature. People's imagination is elevated to new stage, which not only improve the image in the reality, but also create the absent image in the reality. To analyze according to the existence, these characters have two basic elements. The one is the character existing in the reality, we process and design it according to the artistic technique, so as to make it service for the plot and film (hereafter called documentary character). The other is the character not existing in the reality (hereafter called conceptual character), which is called simulation image by Baudrillard.

전기자동차의 주행성능 프로그램 개발 (Development of an Electric Vehicle Simulation Program)

  • A simulation program is developed to analyse the driving performance of an electric vehicle. It is composed of the structured modules modelled after the functional components of the electric vehicle. This program can be used conveniently in the conceptual design stage of a new electric vehicle. The comparision of the test data of ETX-1 developed by Ford with the calculated results shows reasonable agreement within 15% error.
