Sensorless Indirect Field Oriented Control of Two-phase In­duction Motor by Model Reference Adaptive Speed Estimator

  • This paper investigated the speed sensorless indirect vector control of a two-phase induction motor to implement adjustable-speed drive for low-power applications. The sliding mode observer estimates rotor speed. The convergence of the nonlinear time-varying observer along with the asymptotic stability of the controller was analyzed. To define the control action which maintains the motion on the sliding manifold, an 'equivalent control' concept was used. It was simulated and implemented on a sensorless indirect vector drive for 150W two-phase induction motor. The simulation and experimental results demonstrated effectiveness of the estimation method.

  • In this paper, a novel overmodulation strategy for PWM inverters to extend linearity region is presented. The proposed strategy uses the concept of space-vector PWM(SVPWM) based on the zero sequence signal(offset voltage) injection principle. So, by modifying the pole voltage simply, the linear control of inverter output voltage over the whole overmodulation range can be achieved easily. The proposed strategy is so simple that its practical implementation is easy. The validity of the proposed strategy is confirmed by the experimental results.

  • Multilevel inverter has attracted great interest in high-voltage high-power field because of its less distorted output. In this paper, a direct torque control (DTC) technique based on a three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverter is presented. In order to solve the intrinsic neutral-point voltage-balancing problem and to obtain a high performance DTC, a special vector selection method is introduced and the concept of virtual vector is developed. By using the proposed PWM strategy, a MRAS speed sensor-less DTC drive can be achieved without sensing the neutral-point voltage, The strategy can be verified by simulation and experimental results.

  • In this paper, we consider a bi-objective vehicle routing problem to minimize total distance traveled and maximize minimum integrated satisfaction level of selecting desirable routes in an fuzzy graph. The fuzzy graph reflects a real delivery situation in which there are a depot, some demand points, paths linking them, and distance and integrated satisfaction level are associated with each route. For solving the vi-objective problem we introduce a concept of routing vector and define non-dominated solution for comparing vectors. An efficient algorithm involving a selection method of non-dominated solutions based on DEA is proposed for the vehicle routing problem with rigid distance and integrated satisfaction level.

  • Diakoptic method applied to analyze large power system, always require the efficient tearing algorithm. But conventional tearing methods is not suitable to apply practical power system. This paper presents new tearing algorithm based on factorization path concept of sparse vector method, and applied MPRLD, a kind of optimal ordering algorithm, in ordering step to improve the efficiency of tearing algorithm. Test result of model systems shows that new proposed method in this paper is enable to tear power systems not to be teared by heuristic cluster method, reduces computing time and memory size.

  • Stability of rock slope is greatly affected by the geometry and strength of discontinuities developed in the rock mass. In this study an analytical method which is capable of analyzing the effect of relative orientation between the discontinuities and the slope face on the safety of slope by assessing their vector components was used to evaluate the stability and the maximum cut-angle for the proposed slope design. The results of computerized vector analysis revealed that slope area under investigation might be divided into 3 sections of different face directions. The safety factors for benches in each 3 sections were calculated using the limit-equilibrium theory. Then, by utilizing the concept of probabilistic risk analysis, the susceptibility of entire slope failure was estimated. Based on the distribution of safety factor in each bench, the maximum cut angle of each section could be selected differently ot achieve the permanent stability of the entire slope.

  • This paper describes the emotion recognition algorithm using HMM(Hidden Markov Model) method. The relation between the mechanic system and the human has just been unilateral so far This is the why people don't want to get familiar with multi-service robots.   • Approximate lofting or skinning is one of practical surface modeling techniques well used in CAD and reverse engineering applications. Presented in this paper is a method for approximately lofting a given set of curves wihin a specified tolereance. It is based on refitting input curves simultaneously on a common knot vector and interpolating them to get a resultant NURBS surface. A concept of reducing the number of interior knots of the common knot vector is well adopted to acquire more compact representation for the resultant surface. Energy minimization is newly introduced in curve refitting process to stabilize the solution of the fitting problem and get more fair curve. The proposed approximate lofting provides more smooth surface models and realizes more efficient data reduction expecially when the parameterization and compatibility of input curves are not good enough. The method has been successfully implemented in a new CAD/CAM product VX Vision? of Varimetrix Corporation.
