고등학교 지구과학 수업에서 플래시 파노라마 기반 가상 야외 답사의 활용이 학생들의 공간 시각화 능력 및 화산 개념 이해에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Flash Panorama-based Virtual Field Trips on Students' Spatial Visualization Ability and Their Understanding of Volcanic Concept in High School Earth Science Class)

  • 가상 야외 답사(VFT)는 전통적인 야외 답사의 매력적인 대안으로 간주되지만, 지구과학 교육과정에서 어떻게 가장 효과적으로 활용될 수 있는지는 아직 명확하지 않다. 이 연구에서는 플래시 파노라마 기반 VFT를 활용한 지구과학 수업이 고등학교 학생들의 공간 시각화 능력과 화산 개념 이해에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 플래시 파노라마 기반 VFT 활용의 효과를 알아보기 위해 수업 처치 사전 및 사후에 공간 시각화 능력 및 화산 개념 검사를 실시하였으며, 수업 처치 결과를 분석하기 위해 공변량 분석과 선형 회귀 분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실험집단의 공간 시각화 능력 향상 정도가 통제 집단에 비해 통계적으로 유의미하게 더 높게 나타났다. 특히, 공간 시각화 능력의 세 가지 하부 범주 중 공간 조작 능력 향상이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대부분의 범주에서 실험 집단의 화산 개념 이해 향상 정도가 통제 집단에 비해 더 높게 나타났으나, 1개 범주를 제외하고 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 아니었다. 셋째, VFT 활용 후 실험 집단이 통제 집단에 비해 공간 시각화 능력과 화산 개념 이해 간의 상관관계가 현저하게 증가하였다.

  • Analyzing textbook is the first step for enhancing the level of biology education especially in Korea. Prior studies of textbook analysis have mostly dealt with such topics as terminology analysis, content analysis, relationship analysis of chapters, and comparative studies. However, not much attention was paid to concept system to be learned and to relevance of concepts chosen. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to clarify the concept system and to elucidate the relationship among concepts for effective learning. Novak's concept map was utilized as a theoretical framework for the analysis of chapter I of high school biology textbook. Concept map has several distinctive merits in many aspects such as teaching, learning, and evaluation. It not only makes the understanding of key concepts and proposition a lot easier, but also helps to link prior knowledge and new concepts more effectively. This study will be a basic material for improving textbook for effective biology learning. The conclusions of the study are as follows: 1. Concepts in subchapters were arranged unsystematically or they were overlapping. For more effective understanding, those items should be rearranged. 2. Key concepts are not arrayed properly according to their hierarchy. Therefore, it was hard for students to set up concept structure. 3. The concepts emphasized by bold letters were not selected properly in accordance with their importance. Appropriate concepts should be chosen. 4. Key concepts should be explained by using examples in everyday life for easy understanding. 5. Many concepts in molecular biology is too abstract to grasp their meaning. Therefore, many audio-visual materials should be used to aid concept building.

음수 개념의 이해에 관한 교수학적 분석 (A Didactical Analysis on the Understanding of the Concept of Negative Numbers)

  • 본 논문에서는 먼저 음수개념의 내재적 본질이 외형화되는 점진적 형식화의 과정을 역사적인 측면에서 분석하였다. 그리고 음수의 개념장을 가법구조와 승법구조에 측면에서 분석하였으며 역사적 심리학적 분석을 바탕으로 음수개념의 형식성을 이해하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위해 음수개념의 발달 수준을 설정하였다. 그리고 음수개념의 형식적 본질에 비추어 현행 교육과정에서의 음수 지도 내용을 분석하여 그 문제점을 드러내고자 하였으며, 우리나라 중등학교 학생들의 음수의 이해 상태를 조사 분석하였다. 끝으로, 이러한 분석을 기초로 점진적 수학화 과정, 기호화 과정을 통하여 음수개념의 형식성을 지도하기 위한 구체적인 지도 방안을 제시하였다.

함수개념 지도를 위한 모델 비교 연구 (A Study on the comparison of models for teaching the concept of function)

  • 수학사적으로 함수개념은 비례관계, 종속변수, 식, 대응 등으로 발달되어왔으며 수학교육과정에서는 3차, 7차, 7차 개정안에서 중학교 1학년에서 함수개념 도입을 위한 함수의 정의에서 강조점 바뀌었고 이러한 수정의 핵심은 "종속"과 "대응"이다. 본 연구는 종속과 대응에 초점을 둔 수업의 장단점을 비교하고자 각각을 대표할 수 있는 모델로서 물통 모델과 자판기 모델을 선정하여 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 함수의 개념과 함수의 표현에 대한 2차시 수업을 실시하고 형성평가 문항분석을 통하여 두 모델의 차이점과 효율성을 파악하였으며, 3개월 후 파지 효과를 조사하였다. 자판기모델은 중학교 1학년 학생의 함수의 정의 이해 뿐 아니라 특히 개념이미지를 만들고 회상하는데 도움을 주었다. 물통모델은 정의역의 모든 원소가 종속변수에 대응 된다는 "임의성"을 이해하는 데는 상대적으로 어려움을 나타냈지만, 함수식의 표현과 관련해서는 좋은 역할을 한 것으로 판단되었다.

초등학생들의 지층에 대한 개념 연구 (The Study on the Concept of Elementary School Students Regarding the Stratum)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the degree of concept understanding on the stratum for elementary school students. For this objective, questions on the stratum concept were developed, and concept survey was conducted for random sampling of $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ grade 536 students. As a result, students chosen correct answers of the average 57.4% for 16 questions. Below the average rate of correct answers in each domain were 1 question in the definition of the stratum, 3 questions in formation of the stratum, and 4 questions in features of the stratum. Especially, the percentage of correct answers were appeared in lowly that the difference between the visible side and non visible side on the stratum, the definition and formation process of a fault and the main cause of the stratum's exposure. Also, between the residence, grade, and gender of students, there were significant differences in 2 questions, 7 questions, and 1 questions, respectively. Therefore, many elementary school students do not have high understanding about the stratum concept. Through the results of this study, it can be contributed to find an efficient ways as a basic data for modify misconceptions of the stratum to the scientific concept.

간호사의 정치적 역량 개념 개발 (Concept Development of Political Competence for Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to define and clarify the concept of political competence for nurses. Methods: A hybrid model method was used to investigate the dimensions, attributes, and definitions of the concept. In the theoretical stage of the study, literature on nursing, politics, and other discipline were reviewed. In the fieldwork stage, individual in-depth interviews and focus groups interviews were conducted with politically seasoned experts or activists who had an understanding of the concept of political competence for extensive descriptions in nursing and field of health care. Results: The concept of political competence was represented in four dimensions as political knowledge, political efficacy, political interaction, and political activity. In the political knowledge dimension, there were three attributes, namely, political knowledge, political information and systematic analysis ability. The political efficacy dimension had three attributes of internal political efficacy, external political efficacy, and self-pride of nursing profession. The political interaction dimension had three attributes of organizations and community service, networking, and persuasive power. The political activity dimension had six attributes of political leadership, political expression, assertive behavior, political advocacy, political participation, and policy intervention. Conclusion: This concept development might provide a basic understanding of developing a measurement tool and for constructing a theory promoting nurses' political competence.

소수 개념의 교수학적 분석 (A Didactical Analysis of the Decimal fraction Concept)

  • 소수는 십진기수법의 완성을 통해 실수의 표준기호화를 가능하게 하며 실수의 본질을 이해하는데 핵심적 역할을 하는 기본 개념이다. 우리나라 학교수학에서는 소수 개념에 대하여 분수의 다른 이름이라는 측면이 강조되고 그 밖의 중요한 여러 측면이 소홀히 지도된 채 성급한 알고리즘화가 시도되고 있다. 그 결과 학생들은 소수 개념을 적절히 이해하지 못한 채 형식적인 계산 조작의 대상으로 파악하며, 이는 무한소수인 실수 개념 이해의 심각한 장애 요인으로 작용한다는 문제점이 제기된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 학교수학의 주요 개념의 하나인 소수 개념에 대하여 그 교수학적 분석을 시도하여 그 주요한 교육적 문제점의 근원을 드러내고 그 개선방안을 제시하였다.

A Study of Pre-service Chemistry Teacher's Understanding on Entropy

  • In this study, we conducted preliminary survey, diagnostic test and in-depth interview in order to study Korean pre-service chemistry teachers' understanding on entropy and investigate how Korean pre-service chemistry teachers deal with the natural phenomenon which is related to entropy conceptions. Firstly, as a result of the preliminary survey, it was found that pre-service chemistry teachers strongly recognized entropy as the degree of disorder. Secondly, the diagnostic test showed pre-service chemistry teachers were mostly confused about whether the entropy of the universe increases during a spontaneous change, and they had a tendency to interpret the natural phenomenon related to entropy change as the change of disorder. Finally, during in-depth interview, after we explained entropy change in all diagnostic test questions with the concept of microstate, pre-service chemistry teachers revealed a better understanding about entropy. Through this research, pre-service chemistry teachers had an opportunity to reflect on their deficiencies of entropy conceptions, which will ultimately help students to approach the concept of entropy more correctly.

  • In this paper, we propose a framework for ontological knowledge-based image understanding systems. Ontology composed of concepts can be used as a guide for describing objects from a specific domain of interest and describing relations between objects from different domains The proposed framework consists of four main subparts ⅰ) ontological knowledge bases, ⅱ) primitive feature detectors, ⅲ) concept inference engine, and ⅳ) semantic inference engine. Using ontological knowledge bases on various domains and features extracted from the detectors, concept inference engine infers concepts on regions of interest in an image and semantic inference engine reasons semantic situations between concepts from different domains. We present a outline for ontological knowledge-based image understanding systems and application examples within specific domains such as text recognition and human recognition in order to show the validity of the proposed system.

중학교 사회과(지리) 환경교육의 내용 변화에 관한 연구 (Understanding Changes of Environmental Education Contents in the Geography Subject at Middle School)

  • The discussion about environmental education is a little new concept which emerged remarkably in late 1960s. The environmental education means the educational curriculum which make sure value understanding and conception to develop function and attitudes necessary for the proper understanding and evaluating the interaction between human beings and physical environment Centenng an important geographical paraingm for 'the interaction between human beings and physical environment', to make the students understand the concept of environment and know environmental problems are the tasks to be pursued in environmental education courses in the middle school geography classes. The reasonable understanding of environmental problems and voluntary participation through the efficient environmental education in middle school geography classes, not only the systemization of educational curriculum and other needed changes mentioned above, but also the development of policy and institution in national government accompanying with earnest attention and effort must be made in environmental education and other environment-related fields.
