  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the non-sedentary in contemporary multi-housing planning through the understanding and interpretation of the modern nomadic life. A document research method was used to analyze and classified the spatial characteristics and development of the non-sedentary dwelling spaces since 20th century. Finally, today the applicable cases of non-sedentary space are as follows; the sharing housing, the adapting housing, and temporary housing for the multi-purpose spaces, huge spaces and the industrialization housing. First of all, in order to conform the concept of nomadism, the theory and characteristics were divided into three aspects; The concept of thought of lines, events and Rhisome, and the spatial characteristics of fluidity, multiplicity and the non-hierarchy, that is mainly based on the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. This study attempted to analyze how the concept of non-sedentary dwelling space has been developed in what form and method they have been applied and interpreted in the historical background. It attempted to resolve the concept of movement and mobility through the experiment so that they might apply to the space of contemporary city.

수학적 개념의 유형과 효과적인 개념학습 - 벡터이론을 중심으로 (Patterns of mathematical concepts and effective concept learning - around theory of vectors)

  • 본 논문에서는 수학적 개념을 어떻게 가르쳐야 할 것인가를 고려한다. 특히 개념학습에 있어서 수학적 직관에 의해 개념이해, 계산기능, 응용의 3가지 요소를 균형적이고 통합적으로 달성하는 것을 목표로 삼는다. 이를 치한 방안으로 수학적 개념을 3종류의 수리철학인 직관주의, 논리주의, 형식주의에 의거하여 직관적 개념, 논리적 개념, 형식적 개념의 3가지 유형으로 분류한다. 또한 벡터이론의 중요한 9가지 개념을 통하여 유형의 차이에 대해 실제적인 고찰을 한다. 이로부터 벡터이론의 효과적인 개념학습을 위해서 요구되는 학습의 순서와 강조점을 제안한다.

자아탄력성에 대한 개념분석 (A Concept Analysis of Ego-resiliency)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to clarify the concept of ego-resiliency in the context of nursing and to propose a definition of ego-resiliency. Methods: Rodgers' evolutionary approach to concept analysis was used to identify common attributes, antecedents, and consequences of the term ego-resiliency. A literature search of the RISS, NDSL, NAL, CINAHL, PubMed, MEDLINE, PsycINFO, and Scopus databases from 1980 to 2014 was conducted, using the key words of ego-resiliency, ego-resilience, and ego-resilient. Thirty-four relevant articles and one book were finally selected and throughly reviewed. Results: The results of the concept analysis concluded that ego-resiliency was a individualized, integrated, and coping resource and capacity leading personal adaptive capacity including physical, psychological, social well being in various adversity and challenge of life. Conclusion: The findings of this study warranted nursing research on a development of nursing intervention related with ego-resiliency as a pivotal personal characteristic. By doing so, better understanding of human and health within the context of nursing could be achieved.

The Five Laws of Library Science from a Japanese Angle

  • The Five Laws of Library Science was introduced into Japan in 1935. After World War II, it was widely disseminated among young librarians by the education for librarianship developed in the 1950's. Its concept, "Books for All," met a serious opposition from local authorities based on their long continued concept of "preservation." After they realized that people eagerly use local libraries, they interpreted that the duty of public library was "lending books." They introduced "Privatization" of libraries into quite a few local libraries in order to save money. For overcoming problems, it is important to disseminate the library concept among the public, the assembly members and government officials planning to change their attitude of disregarding libraries. As the fundamental library philosophy, the Five Laws of Library Science is important. In the commentary of the Five Laws written by the present writer, he included an illustration of triangle pyramid showing the structure of the Five Laws. He included here the spiral of study on the library and the library science, based on the Section 814 of the Five Laws. He welcomes discussions on his Japanese angle from different viewpoints in order to develop further understanding of the Five Laws.

도함수의 성질에 관련한 학생들의 사고에 대하여 (On the students' thinking of the properties of derivatives)

  • Mathematical concept exists in the structural form, not in the independent form. The purpose of this study is to consider the network which students actually have for the mathematical concept structure related to the properties of derivatives. First, we analyzed the properties of derivatives in 'Mathematics II' and showed the mathematical concept structure of the relations among derivatives, functions, and primitive functions as a network. Also, we investigated the understanding of high school students for the mathematical concept structure between derivatives and functions, and the structure between functions and second order derivatives when the functional formula is not given, and only the graph is given. The results showed that students mainly focus on the relation of 'function-derivatives', the thinking process for direction of derivative and the thinking style for algebra. On this basis, we suggest the educational implication that is necessary for students to build the network properly.

"동부장정(冬不藏精), 춘필병온(春必病溫)"의 개념 및 임상활용에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Concept and Clinical Application of "冬不藏精, 春必病溫")

  • Objectives : The verse, "冬不藏精, 春必病溫", which had much influence, has been falsely referenced as contents of "Neijing". This study aims to examine this process, while looking at its theoretical meaning within clinical practice. Methods : The origins of the concept "冬不藏精, 春必病溫" are explained through annotations of "Neijing" and Li Dong Yuan(李東垣)'s interpretation of Shanghan(傷寒), while its clinical meaning is examined through theories of doctors's who applied the concept in their practices. Results : The beginning of "冬不藏精, 春必病溫" could be traced back to Li's annotation of the verse "冬傷于寒, 春必病溫" from the "Neijing", where he based his understanding on the concept "少陰不藏." Since then, the discourse on "冬傷于寒, 春必病溫" has been replaced by "冬不藏精, 春必病溫" as a new concept to explain the pathology of Wenbing(溫病). These discussions followed the line of thought that by failure to store Jing(精) during the winter, Cold pathogen would infiltrate, hiding itself in Shaoyin(少陰). Various arguments on how the Cold pathogen would develop into Wenbing and its treatment followed. Conclusions : "冬不藏精, 春必病溫" can be understood as the result of a new interpretation of "冬傷于寒, 春必病溫" through the perspective of Cold pathogen infiltration based on "少陰不藏".

Health-related quality of life in children with epilepsy: a concept analysis

  • Purpose: This study aimed to conduct a concept analysis of health-related quality of life in children with epilepsy to promote conceptual clarification and facilitate mutual understanding of the concept. Methods: Walker and Avant's concept analysis method was adopted. Results: Health-related quality of life in children with epilepsy consists of six attributes: health status, inner strength, close relationships, resource-rich community, social acceptance, and changeability. According to the ecological system paradigm, these attributes are structured into five dimensions: organism, microsystem, macrosystem, exosystem, and chronosystem. These dimensions provide a comprehensive approach to the relationship between children with epilepsy and their environment. Epilepsy and interactions with multilevel ecological systems that are directly and indirectly related to children with epilepsy precede the concept, followed by positive and negative affective responses. Conclusion: The findings of this study may support effective communication in various practice settings, thereby contributing to the health and well-being of children with epilepsy, as well as the development and expansion of interventions to improve their health-related quality of life.

퍼어스 기호론과 심볼마크의 이해 (A Study on the Peirce's Semiotics and Understanding of Symbol Marks)

  • 본 연구는 방대한 기호학 학문과 영역 탓에 이해하기 어렵고 또한 명확하지 않은 기호학 분야의 연구에서 찰스 샌더스 퍼스(Charles Sanders Peirce)의 기호학을 명확히 이해하고, 그의 기호학적인 연구의 업적을 아이덴티티 디자인 분야에 활용 할 수 있도록 연구 결과를 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 연구는 기존의 기호학과 관련된 디자인관련 논문들을 재 고찰하고, 퍼스의 삼원적 기호학에 대한 진의와 범주에 대한 이해를 통해서 기업의 심볼마크를 설명하였다. 이 결과를 통해서 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 1) 심볼마크는 관습적으로 한 제품, 서비스, 기업 자체를 의미하며 따라서 표현체적인 측면에서는 법칙 기호이다. 2) 심볼마크는 하나의 기호로서 대상체를 상징하므로 대상체의 세범주적 구분에 의해서 상징 기호이다. 3) 퍼스의 기호학적 정의에서 볼 때, 기업의 심볼마크는 사회적인 규칙을 통해서 존재하므로, 이는 논항 기호로 이해가 되어야만 한다. 4) 기업의 심볼마크는 과거부터 기업 혹은 조직들이 사용해 온 것이고, 대중들은 이를 어느 정도 인식하고 있다. 따라서 기업이 자신의 제품에 심볼마크를 부착하고 대중에게 표상체로서 심볼마크를 보이는 것은 개별적이고 구체적인 사실, 즉 있는 그대로의 사실로서 작용한다. 따라서 심볼마크는 해석체적인 측면의 발화 지시적인 개별기호이다. 퍼어스의 기호학적인 측면에서의 심볼마크의 분류와 이해는 기호의 다양한 상호관계와 연계를 가지는 범주의 법칙과 여러 유형에 대한 이해를 단지 조형적인 측면에서의 구분이 아닌 개념적으로 또한 포괄적인 이해를 요구한다.

From Visualization to Computer Animation Approaches in Mathematics Learning: the Legacy throughout History of Human Endeavours for Better Understanding

  • Presently, there has been growing interests in using mathematics' history in teaching mathematics [Katz, V. & Tzanakis, C. (Eds.) (2011). Recent Developments on Introducing a Historical Dimension in Mathematics Education. Washington, DC: Mathematical Association of America]. Thus, this article introduces some work of scholars from ancient East Indian culture like Bhaskara (AD 1114-1185) and Arabic culture such as Ibn Qurrah (AD 9th c) that are related to Pythagoras Theorem. In addition, some Babylonian creative works related to Pythagorean triples found in a tablet known as 'Plimpton 322', and an application of the Pythagorean Theorem found in another tablet named 'Yale Tablet' are presented. Applications of computer animation of dissection Motion Operations concept in 2D and 3D using dynamic software like Geometer's-Sketchpad and Cabri-II-and-3D. Nowadays, creative minds are attracted by the recent stampede in the advances of technological applications in visual literacy; consequently, innovative environments that would help young students, gifted or not, acquiring meaningful conceptual understanding would immerge.
