A Study of Winding Design for Capacitor Run Single phase Induction Motor (커패시터 구동형 단상유도전동기의 권선설계에 대한 연구)

  • This paper is concerned with winding design in capacitor-run single phase motor. Winding design in single phase induction motor is more complicated than that in three phase induction motor, because of using concentric winding in the single phase. Various winding designs are possible, and accordingly layout of the slot is calculated by formula. And then accurate design of winding is available. Using the design process in this paper, we can get the base model with slot layout and turns of windings of 1.12 kW single phase induction motor, and it is verified by finite element analysis. In this paper, winding design and winding layout of single-phase induction motor using concentric winding are suggested.

  • In HTS transformer with double pancake windings, the perpendicular component of leakage magnetic flux density ($B_{r}$ ) applied to HTS tapes of double pancake windings of HTS transformer acts as a cause to decrease the critical current in HTS tape. So, in this paper, HTS transformer with reciprocal arrangement winding is designed. And in order to investigate the$ B_{r}$ applied to HTS windings, the 2-D non-linear electromagnetic analysis of HTS transformer is performed by using the OPERA 2D. The maximum $B_{r}$ applied to winding of HTS transformer is 0.112 T and the characteristics of HTS transformer were also obtained. But in this type of winding arrangement, reciprocal arrangement, the generated ac-loss to the HTS windings is very high because of the applied $B_{r}$ to HTS windings. Therefore, in order to reduce the generated ac-loss to the HTS windings, the new design of HTS transformer with concentric winding arrangement is presented in this paper and the 2-D non-linear electromagnetic analysis and the ac-loss for HTS transformer with the concentric winding arrangement is also carried out.

  • This paper presents a method to reduce the back-emf THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) for the Concentric winding type Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(CIPMSM). In the CIPMSM, many design variables and their complicated combinations must be considered to reduce the back-emf THD, but it requires a lot of time and efforts. Therefore, this paper suggests the optimized solution with two simple design parameters using MINITAB software.

  • In this report, as a method to solve the problems on impulse insulation coordination in ribbon core transformer owing to it's BIL stepping up, new design to alter winding distribution of multiple-layer concentric winding to Convex type winding is proposed. The main focus of this method is to settle the weakness of axial direction insulation strength and as a result of theoretical analysis through experiment of model transformers, the following conclusions are obtained; (a) As the electric loadings in a design which increases by strengthenning axial direction insulation endurance in presently avarilable transformers owing to it's BIL stepping up can be restricted in Convex type winding, reasonable design will be suited to the transformer with higher BIL. (b) Convex type winding is a very improved insulation design in respect of insulation coordination because it has shield plate effect to even impulse oscillation. (c) There is a disadvantage to cause leakage flux to increase in Convex type winding, however, the constancy of electric loadings in a design in spite of BIL stepping up restricts the increase of leakage flux to some extent.

  • This paper describes the evaluation of a robot based filament winding cell consisting of an industrial robot (ASEA IRB 6/2) and an in-house fabricated mandrel drive mechanism, both being coordinated by a personal computer. As in many manufacturing processes, tradeoffs exist between accuracy and speed. The accuracy versus speed relationships of the robotic winding cell were experimentally determined for discrete, fine and medium movement modes while traversing a segmented delivery eye path for a cylindrical mandrel in three configurations (in-line, offset and angled with respect to the axis of rotation). the results show that the robot winding cell is appropriate for very accurate winding of fibre strands if the mandrel axis is concentric with the mandrel drive axis and the discrete mode(i.e. low speed) of the robot is used.

  • A 1 MV A single phase high temperature superconducting (HTS) transformer was manufactured and tested. The rated voltages of primary and secondary of the HTS transformer are 22.9 kV and 6.6 kV respectively. BSCCO-2223 HTS tape was used for HTS windings of 1 MV A HTS transformer. In order to reduce AC loss generated in the HTS winding, the type of concentric arrangement winding was adopted to a 1 MV A HTS transformer. Single HTS tape for primary windings and 4 parallel HTS tapes for secondary windings were used considering the each rated current of the HTS transformer. A core of HTS transformer was fabricated as a shell type core made of laminated silicon steel plate. And a GFRP cryostat with a room temperature bore was also manufactured. The characteristic tests of 1 MV A HTS transformer were performed such as no load test, short circuit test and several insulation tests at 65 K using sub-cooled liquid nitrogen. From the results of tests, the validity of design of HTS transformer was ascertained.

  • Axial Flux Permanent Magnet motor could widely be used for low speed and high torque applications. In this paper, to analyse the sensor positioning effect of AFPM motor which has a new concentric winding method and to calibrate the switching timing according to speed, prototype motor is manufactured. As a result of experiment, advance angle from 30 degree to 45 degree of sensor position is more proper. So, this results can be used for design of sensor position to improve characteristic of the dual gap AFPM with coreless and slotless.

  • The object of this paper is to try to develope Tulular Liner Induction Motor which consists of primary stator that generates traveling magnetic field from the three-phase winding of formed-wound concentric coil, and try to identify the characteristics of starting force. To indentify the theoretical starting force formular we have quoted the conventional Maxwell's basic equation and Poisson's equation which are used in the general machines thereby having obtained the formular of the current with in the conductor and of the air gap magnetic field respectively. General starting force formular is acquired by applying the formular of the current and magnetic field which was theoretically derived above. To this theoretically starting force formula various constants and the values of magnetic flux density resulting from the experimental motor are applied to present theoretically calculated values. Comparing these theoretically caculated values experimentally weighed values, we have proved the validity of theoretical research.
