뉴로 퍼지 모델을 이용한 편향요크의 RGB색 일치에 대한 제어 (Control of Convergence for Deflection Yoke Using Neuro-Fuzzy Model)

  • Color Display Tube (CDT) used in computer monitors, consists of many components. Deflection Yoke(DY) among them supplies the vertical and horizontal magnetic fields so that the spatial trajectories of electron beams are deflected according to the synchronization signals. If the magnetic fields are not correctly formed, there will be color blurring or blooming by a mis-convergence of each beam and the color image on screen may not be clear. Therefore, in the manufacture of DY. its quality is strictly examined to get the desired convergence and the occurred mis-convergence can be cured by sticking ferrite sheets on the inner part of DY. However, because it needs expert's knowledge and experience to find the proper position of the sheet, this article introduces an intelligent controller that the knowledge-base represented by a neuro-fuzzy model is used to find the optimal position of the ferrite sheet for the convergence.

  • There are several researches on 2D gaze tracking techniques for the 2D screen for the Human-Computer Interaction. However, the researches for the gaze-based interaction to the stereo images or contents are not reported. The 3D display techniques are emerging now for the reality service. Moreover, the 3D interaction techniques are much more needed in the 3D contents service environments. This paper addresses gaze-based 3D interaction techniques on stereo display, such as parallax barrier or lenticular stereo display. This paper presents our researches on 3D gaze estimation and gaze-based interaction to stereo display.

  • In the conventional remote monitoring system, a user in front of a computer monitor can acquire only 2 dimensional visual information in a passive way. Thus, even thoght the user finds an interesting object from the video image, helshe can hardly acquire additional information on the object such as name. 311 shape, etc. In this paper, an active monitoring system that shows additional information on the selected object is proposed. The active remote monitoring system can calculate the 3D position of the object that is selected in the video images. Then, using the 3D position of the object, other information on the object can be retrieved from the database and shown on the screen. To calculate the 3D position of the object, 2 CCD cameras that can be tilted and panned using 3 stepping motors are used. The algorithm of 3D position calculation and the result of experiments are explained.

  • The rapid exchanges of mobile computing environment and development of wireless communication are providing many effects for learning activity of students. Recently, PDA system developers which are studying memory capacity, communication speed and size of screen support techniques to be capable of learning from students in the wireless or moving environment. In this viewpoints, this paper has a purpose to design multimedia learning system to be able to do with sound lecture contents. The implemented system largely consists of two parts which have the teacher module and students module. The one manages learning progress of students, class management, bulletin board and etc. The other is capable of using studying and bulletin functions. The main idea of this research is focus to upgrade the effect of learning without almost treating the existing studies, which can be listening sound lecture and also seeing text and image at the same time.

Scientific Approach to Fashion Websites Using Eye Trackers

  • This study analyze consumers' unconscious visual attention to color and images of internet shopping malls by using eye-tracking method. Twenty-nine participants, including 15 females and 14 males, participated. The average ages of the male and female participants were 27.3 years and 27.7 years, respectively. Ten images of five layouts (multi-composition images, single-model images, gender-composed images, videos, and moving banner images) of internet shopping malls were shown on an eye-tracker computer screen. Quantitative analyses of the eye-tracking responses were conducted. SPSS was used to analyze the descriptive characteristics and to conduct an independent-sample t-test, along with an ANOVA. The data analysis showed that the image area generally had the shortest time to first fixation (TFF), the longest duration of fixation (DOF), the highest number of fixations (NOF), and the highest numbers of revisits(NOR).Notably, visual attention towards female models was high among various images. The results can be used to improve credibility and design online shopping layout with a scientific evidence that helps consumers through their purchase decisions.

X-Ray Security Checkpoint System Using Storage Media Detection Method Based on Deep Learning for Information Security

  • Recently, as the demand for physical security technology to prevent leakage of technical and business information of companies and public institutions increases, the high tech companies are operating X-ray security checkpoints at building entrances to protect their intellectual property and technology. X-ray security checkpoints are operated to detect cameras and storage media that may store or leak important technologies in the bags of people entering and leaving the building. In this study, we propose an X-ray security checkpoint system that automatically detects a storage medium in an X-ray image using a deep learning based object detection method. The proposed system consists of an edge computing unit and a cloud-computing unit. We employ the RetinaNet for automatic storage media detection in the X-ray security checkpoint images. The proposed approach achieved mAP of 95.92% on private dataset.

Side Scan Sonar 탐사자료의 영상처리와 해저면 Backscattering 음향특성 (Digital Processing and Acoustic Backscattering Characteristics on the Seafloor Image by Side Scan Sonar)

  • SMS 960(Seafloor Mapping System) Side Scan Sonar에 자기테이프기록계 (Kennedy 900)를 연결하여 해저면 탐사자료를 수치적으로 처리할 수 있는 시스템을 개발, 이를 제주도 성산포 근해에서 시험적으로 적용하여 그 결과를 검토 하였다. 처리시스템은 주로 VAX 11/780 (4MB)를 사용하여 FORTRAN-77로 작성 되었으며 자료의 변환, 보정, 수치분석 및 도면제작 (cartography)을 주요기능으로 가지고 있다. SMS960에 의해 얻어진 수치자료는 특수한 형태를 가지고 있으므로 독자적으로 제작한 자료선별 계수기(Data Selecting Counter와 개인용 컴퓨터 personar computer을 사용하여 주처리 전산시스템에서 처리할 수 있도록 그 형태를 변환시켰으며, 경사거리(slant range)의 보정과 자료의 질적 개선을 위한 전처리 과 정을 거친 다음, 색상표현 으로 해저면 영상도면을 제작하였다. 후방산란 (backscattering) 음파자료를 통계처리하여 4가지 색상으로 제작된 영상도면을, 해저 퇴적물의 물성분포도와 비교해 본 결과 주로 평균입도와 분급도에 잘 대비되었다. 따라서 Side Scan Sonar에 의한 해저면 후 방상란 음향특성을 적절히 분석하므로 써 해저퇴적물의 퇴적상분포연구에 상당한 응용 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

가상착의 시스템을 이용한 팬츠 스타일과 기하학 무늬의 특성에 따른 시각적 효과 (A Visual Effect according to Pants Style and Geometric Pattern - Using a 3D Virtual Garment System -)

  • This study evaluates the difference of visual effect according to pant style and geometric pattern. The researcher made 28 stimuli-combination of four pant Stiles (classic, baggy, skinny, and bell-bottom) and seven geometric pattern (large vertical stripe, small vertical stripe, large horizontal stripe, small horizontal stripe, large check, small check, and hound's tooth check). The test involved 96 female college students. The stimuli were made with the i-Designer computer program. The panels tested the computer screen images of all manikins wearing pants. A 7-point scale was used to evaluate each image. For the data analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test were applied along with an SPSS program. The results of this study are as follows. Three factors (lower-body compensation, abdomen highlight, and length compensation) influenced the visual effect pant styles and geometric patterns. The skinny style and large vertical stripe evaluated positively in elongated height and leg length and a slimmer overall body. It was shown that the vertical stripe pattern was evaluated as more positive than the horizontal stripe pattern in the visual effect; particularly, the results showed distinct aspects in the classic pants style. The mutual influence of the visual effect (according to pants style and geometric pattern) were indicated as two factors of lower-body compensation and length compensation. A more positive visual effects resulted in a higher mutual influence on pant style and geometric pattern.

심층 학습을 활용한 가상 치아 이미지 생성 연구 -학습 횟수를 중심으로 (A Study on Virtual Tooth Image Generation Using Deep Learning - Based on the number of learning)

  • Purpose: Among the virtual teeth generated by Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Networks (DCGAN), the optimal data was analyzed for the number of learning. Methods: We extracted 50 mandibular first molar occlusal surfaces and trained 4,000 epoch with DCGAN. The learning screen was saved every 50 times and evaluated on a Likert 5-point scale according to five classification criteria. Results were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and tukey HSD post hoc analysis (α = 0.05). Results: It was the highest with 83.90±6.32 in the number of group3 (2,050-3,000) learning and statistically significant in the group1 (50-1,000) and the group2 (1,050-2,000). Conclusion: Since there is a difference in the optimal virtual tooth generation according to the number of learning, it is necessary to analyze the learning frequency section in various ways.
