영어기반 컴퓨터자동채점모델과 기계번역을 활용한 서술형 한국어 응답 채점 -자연선택개념평가 사례- (Scoring Korean Written Responses Using English-Based Automated Computer Scoring Models and Machine Translation: A Case of Natural Selection Concept Test)

  • 이 연구는 기계 번역을 활용하여 영어기반서술형 평가의 자동채점모델을 한국어 응답에 적용하는 방법의 효용감을 조사하기 위하여 이루어졌다. 이 연구를 위하여 예비생물교사 128명이 4문항으로 구성된 자연선택개념평가도구에 응답한 512개의 서술형응답을 활용하였다. 서술형응답은 한글맞춤법을 교정한 것과 교정하지 않은 학생들이 작성한 그대로의 응답 두 가지를 구글번역으로 번역하였다. 8가지 과학적 개념과 비과학적 개념을 채점하는 자동채점모델을 통해 생성한 4096개의 예측자료의 정확도를 독립적으로 수행한 전문가 채점자료와 비교하는 방법으로 확인하였다. 그 결과 컴퓨터로 채점한 점수와 전문가 채점점수의 평균값의 문항별 분포는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 평균값을 활용하여 생성한 통계치들은 전문가 채점자료를 통하여 생성한 자료들과 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 학생별 점수의 Pearson 상관관계 계수를 확인한 결과 과학적 개념 점수는 0.848, 비과학적 개념 점수는 0.776이었다. 언어적으로 단순한 개념의 경우 채점자간 일치도 (kappa)가 0.8이상이었다. 이 결과는 기계 번역과 영어기반 서술형 평가의 자동채점모델이 우리나라 학생들의 자연선택개념문항을 채점하는데 유용한 방법이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.

총의치 제작을 위한 무치악 디지털 모형의 정확도 평가 (Evaluation of Validity of Edentulous Digital Model for Complete Denture Fabrication)

  • 성공적인 보철치료를 위해서 가장 필요한 선행조건 중 하나는 환자의 구강과 정확한 모형의 제작이다. 최근 치과용 캐드캠을 이용한 보철물의 제작 수요가 증가함에 따라 본 연구에서는 총의치 제작을 위한 디지털 모형의 정확도를 평가함으로써 해당 임상가(치과의사, 치과위생사, 치과기공사)들에게 참고자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기존 아날로그 제작 방식에 의한 석고 모형(대조군)과 이를 스캔하여 제작한 디지털 모형(실험군)을 각각 20개씩 제작 후 정확도 평가를 위한 6개의 계측지점을 선정하였다. 두 집단의 모형에서 측정된 6개의 계측지점의 평균을 비교 평가하는 방식으로 디지털 모형의 정확도를 평가하였다. 본 연구 결과 치과용 스캐너를 이용하여 제작된 디지털 모형이 아날로그 모형보다 작게 제작된다는 것을 알 수 있었으나 이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 또한 두 집단의 모형들에서 측정된 계측거리의 평균의 차이는 계측거리 별로 0.05~0.45 mm로 조사되었는데, 이러한 차이는 기존 선행 연구들에 근거하였을 때 그 정도가 미비한 것으로써 최종 보철물의 성패에는 영향을 미치지 않는 것을 알 수 있었다. 최근 치과용 캐드캠을 이용한 보철물의 제작 수요는 증가하고 있는데 반해 디지털 모형의 정확도와 관련한 연구는 매우 부족한 것을 감안하였을 때 본 연구는 관련 실험을 통해 결과를 도출하여 해당 임상가(치과의사, 치과위생사, 치과기공사)들에게 참고자료를 제시하고자 하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 생각된다. 본 연구 결과들을 종합하고, 선행 연구들의 결과에 비추어 보았을 때 치과용 캐드캠을 이용한 총의치 제작 시 제작되는 디지털 모형은 임상적으로 허용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

Survey of Visual Search Performance Models to Evaluate Accuracy and Speed of Visual Search Tasks

  • Objective: This study aims to survey visual search performance models to assess and predict individual's visual tasks in everyday life and industrial sites. Background: Visual search is one of the most frequently performed and critical activities in everyday life and works. Visual search performance models are needed when designing or assessing the visual tasks. Method: This study was mainly based on survey of literatures related to ergonomics relevant journals and web surfing. In the survey, the keywords of visual search, visual search performance, visual search model, etc. were used. Results: On the basis of the purposes, developing methods and results of the models, this study categorized visual search performance models into six groups: probability-based models, SATO models, visual lobe-based models, computer vision models, neutral network-based models and detection time models. Major models by the categories were presented with their advantages and disadvantages. More models adopted the accuracy among two factors of accuracy and speed characterizing visual tasks as dependent variables. Conclusion: This study reviewed and summarized various visual search performance models. Application: The results would be used as a reference or tool when assessing the visual tasks.

Analysis of Inter-Domain Collaborative Routing: Provider Competition for Clients

  • Any server offering a routing service in the Internet would naturally be in competition for clients, and clients may need to utilize service from a specific server in order to achieve a desired result. We study the various properties of this competition, such as the fraction of route requests handled by a routing service provider and the fraction of total revenue obtained. As the routing service providers (i.e., servers or routers in this context) compete, they may alter behavior in order to optimize one of the above properties. For example, a service provider may lower the price charged for its service, in order to increase the number of clients served. Our models are based on servers offering a routing service to clients within representative network topologies based on actual Internet sub-graphs. These models provide, a framework for evaluating competition in the Internet. We monitor key aspects of the service, as several variables are introduced into the models. The first variable is the fraction of client requests that will pay more for a better quality route. The remaining requests are normal client requests that are satisfied by the most economical route. The second variable is the fraction of servers who choose to lower service prices in order to maximize the number of client requests served. As this fraction increases, it is more likely that a server will lower the price. Finally, there are some resource constraints applied to the model, to increase the difficulty in providing a routing solution, i.e., to simulate a realistic scenario. We seek to understand the effect on the overall network, as service providers compete. In simple cases, we show that this competition could have a negative impact on the overall efficiency of a service. We show that the routing variety present in the larger models is unable to mask this tendency and the routing service performance is decreased due to competition.

  • 최근 대규모 소프트웨어 개발하는 데 있어 불명확한 의사소통을 해결하기 위해 가독성이 높은 표준화된 UML(Unified Modeling Language) 모델 중심의 모델 기반 개발 방법이 적용되고 있다. 하지만 소프트웨어 개발자들의 숙련도, 모델 및 모델링 도구의 이해도에 따라 대규모 소프트웨어에 일관성 있는 UML 모델을 적용하기에는 어려움이 발생한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 개발에 일관성 있는 UML 모델을 적용하기 위한 모델 검증 시스템 개발 방법을 제시한다. 그리고 개발된 모델 검증 시스템을 함정 전투체계 소프트웨어 개발에 일부 적용하여 기능을 입증한다. 모델 검증 시스템은 개발자들이 작성한 모델들을 도메인 특성에 맞게 자동으로 검증할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 모델 검증 시스템을 사용하면 함정 전투체계 소프트웨어 개발에 좀 더 쉽게 일관성 있는 UML 모델을 적용할 수 있는 장점을 가진다.

Estimation of compressive strength of BFS and WTRP blended cement mortars with machine learning models

  • The aim of this study is to build Machine Learning models to evaluate the effect of blast furnace slag (BFS) and waste tire rubber powder (WTRP) on the compressive strength of cement mortars. In order to develop these models, 12 different mixes with 288 specimens of the 2, 7, 28, and 90 days compressive strength experimental results of cement mortars containing BFS, WTRP and BFS+WTRP were used in training and testing by Random Forest, Ada Boost, SVM and Bayes classifier machine learning models, which implement standard cement tests. The machine learning models were trained with 288 data that acquired from experimental results. The models had four input parameters that cover the amount of Portland cement, BFS, WTRP and sample ages. Furthermore, it had one output parameter which is compressive strength of cement mortars. Experimental observations from compressive strength tests were compared with predictions of machine learning methods. In order to do predictive experimentation, we exploit R programming language and corresponding packages. During experimentation on the dataset, Random Forest, Ada Boost and SVM models have produced notable good outputs with higher coefficients of determination of R2, RMS and MAPE. Among the machine learning algorithms, Ada Boost presented the best R2, RMS and MAPE values, which are 0.9831, 5.2425 and 0.1105, respectively. As a result, in the model, the testing results indicated that experimental data can be estimated to a notable close extent by the model.

차세대 디지털교과서를 위한 기반기술 및 적용에 관한 연구 (Fundamental study on the technology and application for the Next Generation Digital Textbook)

  • 현재 진행되고 있는 디지털교과서 시범사업은 연구학교를 중심으로 다양한 컨텐츠 활용 및 연구사례 등을 도출하고 있다. 그러나 현재의 디지털교과서는 기존 온라인 학습콘텐츠와 유사한 상호작용 및 교수학습 모델을 제공하며 특히 태블릿 기반 콘텐츠의 학습효과 및 탐구능력 등과 같은 연구사례가 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 태블릿 기반의 차세대 디지털교과서를 위한 교수학습 모델을 제안하며 특히 디지털 잉크 기반의 스케치 인터페이스 및 증강현실 기술을 이용한 상호작용 모델을 설계하였다. 제안된 연구기법은 학습콘텐츠로 구현되었으며 이를 통한 교수자와 학습자간의 활발한 상호작용 및 학습몰입감의 효과를 규명하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 미래형 디지털교과서 개발 및 적용 시 효과적인 개발방안이 될 것이다.

Probabilistic Models for Local Patterns Analysis

  • Recently, many large organizations have multiple data sources (MDS') distributed over different branches of an interstate company. Local patterns analysis has become an effective strategy for MDS mining in national and international organizations. It consists of mining different datasets in order to obtain frequent patterns, which are forwarded to a centralized place for global pattern analysis. Various synthesizing models [2,3,4,5,6,7,8,26] have been proposed to build global patterns from the forwarded patterns. It is desired that the synthesized rules from such forwarded patterns must closely match with the mono-mining results (i.e., the results that would be obtained if all of the databases are put together and mining has been done). When the pattern is present in the site, but fails to satisfy the minimum support threshold value, it is not allowed to take part in the pattern synthesizing process. Therefore, this process can lose some interesting patterns, which can help the decider to make the right decision. In such situations we propose the application of a probabilistic model in the synthesizing process. An adequate choice for a probabilistic model can improve the quality of patterns that have been discovered. In this paper, we perform a comprehensive study on various probabilistic models that can be applied in the synthesizing process and we choose and improve one of them that works to ameliorate the synthesizing results. Finally, some experiments are presented in public database in order to improve the efficiency of our proposed synthesizing method.

The Interactive Modeling Method of Virtual City Scene Based on Building Codes

  • For higher-level requirements of urban planning and management and the recent development of "digital earth" and "digital city", it is urgent to establish protocols for the construction of three-dimensional digital city models. However, some problems still exist in the digital technology of the three-dimensional city model, such as insufficient precision of the three-dimensional model, not optimizing the scene and not considering the constraints of building codes. In view of those points, a method to interactively simulate a virtual city scene based on building codes is proposed in this paper. Firstly, some constraint functions are set up to restrict the models to adhere to the building codes, and an improved directional bounding box technique is utilized to solve the problem that geometric objects may intersect in a virtual city scene. The three-dimensional model invocation strategy is designed to convert two-dimensional layouts to a three-dimensional urban scene. A Leap Motion hardware device is used to interactively place the 3D models in a virtual scene. Finally, the design and construction of the three-dimensional scene are completed by using Unity3D. The experiment shows that this method can simulate urban virtual scenes that strictly adhere to building codes in a virtual scene of the city environment, but also provide information and decision-making functions for urban planning and management.

  • Nowadays usage of different applications of identity management IDM demands prime attention to clarify which is more efficient regarding preserve privacy as well as security to perform different operations concerning digital identity. Those operations represent the available interactions with identity during its lifecycle in the digital world e.g., create, update, delete, verify and so on. With the rapid growth in technology, this field has been evolving with a number of IDM models being proposed to ensure that identity lifecycle and face some significant issues. However, the control and ownership of data remines in the hand of identity service providers for central and federated approaches unlike in the self-sovereign identity management SSIM approach. SSIM is the recent IDM model were introduced to solve the issue regarding ownership of identity and storing the associated data of it. Thus, SSIM aims to grant the individual's ability to govern their identities without intervening administrative authorities or approval of any authority. Recently, we noticed that numerous IDM solutions enable individuals to own and control their identities in order to adapt with SSIM model. Therefore, we intend to make comparative study as much of these solutions that have proper technical documentation, reports, or whitepapers as well as provide an overview of IDM models. We will point out the existing research gaps and how this study will bridge it. Finally, the study will propose a technical enhancement, everKEY solution, to address some significant drawbacks in current SSIM solutions.
