  • In this paper we study two stage problems of stochastic convex programming. Solving the problems is very hard. A L-shaped method for it is given. The implement of the algorithm is simple, so less computation work is needed. The result of computation shows that the algorithm is effective.

  • A practical algorithm of generating most probable states in decreasing order of probability, given the probability of each unit\`s state, is suggested for approximating reliability(performability) evaluation of a network with multistate(multimode) units. Method of approximating network reliability for a given measure with most probable states is illustrated with a numerical example. The proposed method in this paper is compared with the previous method regarding memory requirement. Our method has some advantages for computation and achieves improvement with regard to memory requirement for a certain condition judging from the computation experiment.

  • In the design of column, computation of effective length factor for calculation of allowable compressive stress is inevitable. In this study. computer code which automatically generates effective length factor in the finite element analysis is developed. The program is developed to be used for orthogonal and nonorthogonal frame structure. Some i1lustrative examples verify that the computation results we correct for various cases.

  • An implicit finite element implementation for Leblond's transformation plasticity constitutive equations, which are widely used in welded steel structure is proposed in the framework of parallel computing. The implementation is based upon the multiplicative decomposition of deformation gradient and hyper elastic formulation. We examine the efficiency of parallel computation for the finite element analysis of a welded structure using domain-wise multi-frontal solver.

  • A parallel multi-frontal solver is developed for finite element analysis of an arc-welding process, which entails phase evolution, heat transfer, and deformations of structure. We verify the code via comparison to a commercial code,SYSWELD. Attention is focused on the implementation of the parallel solver using MPI library, on the speedup by parallel computation, and on the effectiveness of the solver in welding application

  • As an alternative to the k-means clustering the k-spatial medians clustering has many good points because of advantages of spatial median. However, it has not been used a lot since it needs heavy computation. If the number of objects and the number of variables are large the computation time problem is getting serious. In this study we propose fast algorithm for the k-spatial medians clustering. Practical applicability of the algorithm is shown with some numerical studies.

  • In this paper, a new enhanced early fair rate allocation(EFRA+) algorithm is proposed for ATM switches supporting ABR service. The central issue of explicit rate control algorithms for ABR service is the computation of max-min fair rates for every connection. The EFRA+ inherits the main feature of the EFRA, uses the connection control information during the connection setup to prevent potential congestion in switches, and enhances the computation method of the max-min fair rate.

  • In this paper, we compute the Hankel matrix representation of the Hankel operator on the Hardy space of a general bounded domain with respect to special orthonormal bases for the Hardy space and its orthogonal complement. Moreover we obtain the compact form of the Hankel matrix for the unit disc case with respect to these bases. One can see that the Hankel matrix generated by this computation turns out to be a generalization of the case of the unit disc from the single simply connected domain to multiply connected domains with much diversities of bases.
