Coast Down 시험데이터를 이용한 가스터빈엔진 시동모델 연구 (Study of Gas-turbine Cranking Model using the Coast Down Experimental Results)

  • 가스터빈엔진의 시동점화 조건 달성 및 시동가속을 위해서는 엔진에 적합한 시동기를 선정하여야 한다. 이를 위해서는 시동 크랭킹 과정의 공력저항을 예측하여 시동성능을 파악하여야한다. 본 논문에서는 기 개발엔진의 Coast down 시험을 통하여 획득된 엔진속도 프로파일 데이터를 바탕으로 엔진 주축에 인간되는 공력저항을 도출하고, 압축기 부하를 기준으로 한 스케일링을 통해 대상엔진의 공력저항을 모델링하였다. 이후, 공력저항 모델과 공기시동기(ATS)의 토크 성능선도를 엔진 시동모델에 적용함으로써, 엔진시동에 적합한 시동기를 선정하는 방법을 제시한다.

KSTAR 헬륨냉동기의 압축시스템 시운전 결과 (Commissioning Results of the Warm Compression System for the KSTAR Helium Refrigeration System)

  • The main components of the KSTAR helium refrigeration system (HRS) can be classified into the warm compression system (WCS) and the cryogenic devices according to the operating temperature levels. The WCS itself consists of the compressor station (C/S) and the oil removal system (ORS). The process helium is compressed from 1 bar to 22 bar maximum in the C/S and downstream, the ORS removes the oil mixed in the helium to less than 10 ppbw as per the operation criteria of the cryogenic devices of the KSTAR HRS. After the installation, the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities were started on July, 2007. Before the start-up of the C/S, vibration measurement and the skid reinforcement jobs were performed for stable operation of the C/S. The results of the WCS performance tests met the requirements of the KSTAR HRS but satisfied the vibration level criteria only at the compressors' full load condition.

A qualitative evaluation method for engine and its operating-envelope using GSP (Gas turbine Simulation Program)

  • Regarding to the project SUAV (Smart Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) in KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute), several engine configurations has been evaluated. However it's not an easy task to collect all the necessary data of each engine for the analysis. Usually, some kind of modeling technique is required in order to determine the unknown data. In the present paper a qualitative method for reverse engineering is proposed, in order to identify some design patterns and relationships between parameters. The method can be used to estimate several parameters that usually are not provided by the manufacturer. The method consists of modeling an existing engine and through a simulation, compare its transient behavior with its operating envelope. In the simulation several parameters such as thermodynamics, performance, safety and mechanics concerning to the definition of operation-envelope, have been discussed qualitatively. With the model, all engine parameters can be estimated with acceptable accuracy, making possible the study of dependencies among different parameters such as power-turbine total inertia, TIT, take-off time and part load, in order to check if the engine transient performance is within the design criteria. For more realistic approach and more detailed design requirements, it will be necessary to enhance the compressor map first, and more realistic estimated values must be taken into account for intake-loss, bleed-air and auxiliary power extraction. The relative importance of these “unknown” parameters must be evaluated using sensitivity analysis in the future evaluation. Moreover, fluid dynamics, thermal analysis and stress analysis necessary for the resulting life assessment of en engine, will not be addressed here but in a future paper. With the methodology presented in the paper was possible to infer the relationships between operation-envelope and engine parameters.

동시냉난방 열펌프의 전열회수 성능 특성에 관한 연구 (Experimental Study on the Performance of a Simultaneous Heating and Cooling Heat Pump in the Heat Recovery Mode)

  • The cooling load in winter is significant in buildings and hotels because of the usage of office equipments and the high efficiency of wall insulation. Hence, the development of a multi-heat pump that can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this study, the performance of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump was investigated in the heat recovery mode (HR mode). The system adopted a variable speed compressor using R410A with four indoor units and one outdoor unit. In the HR mode, the capacity and COP were improved as compared with those in the cooling or heating mode because the waste heat in the outdoor unit was utilized as useful heat in the indoor units. However, energy imbalance between heating and cooling capacity of each indoor unit was observed in the 2H-1C HR mode. Therefore, the performance of the system in the 2H-1C HR mode was enhanced by controlling refrigerant flow rate through the outdoor unit.

실내기 조합에 따른 3실형 열펌프의 냉방성능 실험연구 (Experimental Study on Cooling Performance of Multi-Heat Pump by Indoor-Unit Combination)

  • 본 연구에서는 인버터 압축기를 적용한 3실형 멀티-열펌프 시스템의 냉방운전 시 시스템의 성능특성을 조사하였다. 시스템의 운전특성은 항온항습 기능을 가진 공기엔탈피방식의 칼로리미터를 이용하여 측정되었으며, 냉방표준 및 냉방저온 온도조건에서 실내기 조합에 따른 실험이 수행되었다. 3실형 열펌프의 실내기 조합운전에 따른 냉방 표준운전 및 냉방저온운전 시의 냉방능력, COP, P-h선도로부터, 3실형 열펌프의 운전특성과 냉방사이클의 거동을 이해하였다. 열펌프의 운전부하와 성능은 실내기 조합에 의존하므로 시스템의 능력과 사이클의 거동은 다르게 관찰되었다. 과냉도 증가와 압축일의 감소로 표준조건보다 저온조건에서 냉방능력과 COP가 더 높았다. 또한 P-h 선도를 이용하여 사이클의 운전특성도 분석하였다.

부분 스위칭 PFC 모듈을 이용한 가정용 에어컨 전원장치 (The Power System for Home Appliance Air-Conditioner using Partial Switching Power Factor Correction Module)

  • 본 논문은 냉난방 인버터 에어컨용 전원시스템에 역률개선 회로인 부분 스위칭 PFC 모듈을 적용하여 입력의 역률 개선 및 전류의 고조파 성분을 최소화하여 IEC555-2규정을 만족하는 입력 전원부를 설계하여 인덕터부하에 적용되는 회로 설계시의 문제점들을 해결 할 수 있는 방안들을 제시하였다. 그리고 출력전압의 상승을 억제하면서 전류파형을 개선하는 방법 및 부분 스위칭 PFC회로를 제안하여 스위칭 횟수를 적게 함으로써 압축기의 모터에 인가 할 수 있는 전압을 상승시켜 모터 적정 운전 전압을 확립하였으며, 효율이나 경제성 및 전자 노이즈 등의 문제점들을 해결하였다. 그리고 에어컨의 소비 전력을 줄일 수 있다. 이상의 결과에서 시스템 총합 운전에너지 효율이 상승되는 것을 확인하는 모든 사항은 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 입증했다.

3실 열펌프의 운전조합에 대한 난방성능 실험연구 (Experimental Study on Heating Performance by Operation Combination of Heat Pump with 3 Indoor-Units)

  • 본 실험연구는 인버터 압축기를 적용한 실내기 3실을 가진 멀티형 열펌프 시스템의 난방운전 시 열펌프의 난방성능을 연구하였다. 멀티형 열펌프의 운전특성은 항온항습 기능을 가진 공기엔탈피방식의 멀티형 칼로리미터를 이용하여 측정되었다. 난방표준 및 난방저온 온도조건에서 실내기 운전조합에 따른 실험을 수행하여 난방성능 변화를 관찰하였다. 실내기 3실을 가진 열펌프의 실내기 운전조합에 따른 난방표준 및 난방저온 운전에서 난방능력, 난방 COP, P-h선도로부터, 3실을 가진 열펌프의 운전특성과 냉매 사이클의 거동을 조사하였다. 열펌프의 운전부하와 성능은 실내기 조합에 의한 부분부하에 의존하므로 열펌프의 난방능력과 사이클의 거동은 다르게 관찰되었다. 표준온도 시험조건 대비 저온 시험조건의 난방능력과 난방 COP는 감소하였다. 또한 실내기 조합에 대한 냉매사이클은 P-h 선도를 사용하여 분석되었다.

  • This article reviews the papers published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering during 2016. It is intended to understand the status of current research in the areas of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation, and indoor environments of buildings and plant facilities. Conclusions are as follows. (1) The research works on the thermal and fluid engineering have been reviewed as groups of flow, heat and mass transfer, the reduction of pollutant exhaust gas, cooling and heating, the renewable energy system and the flow around buildings. CFD schemes were used more for all research areas. (2) Research works on heat transfer area have been reviewed in the categories of heat transfer characteristics, pool boiling and condensing heat transfer and industrial heat exchangers. Researches on heat transfer characteristics included the results of the long-term performance variation of the plate-type enthalpy exchange element made of paper, design optimization of an extruded-type cooling structure for reducing the weight of LED street lights, and hot plate welding of thermoplastic elastomer packing. In the area of pool boiling and condensing, the heat transfer characteristics of a finned-tube heat exchanger in a PCM (phase change material) thermal energy storage system, influence of flow boiling heat transfer on fouling phenomenon in nanofluids, and PCM at the simultaneous charging and discharging condition were studied. In the area of industrial heat exchangers, one-dimensional flow network model and porous-media model, and R245fa in a plate-shell heat exchanger were studied. (3) Various studies were published in the categories of refrigeration cycle, alternative refrigeration/energy system, system control. In the refrigeration cycle category, subjects include mobile cold storage heat exchanger, compressor reliability, indirect refrigeration system with $CO_2$ as secondary fluid, heat pump for fuel-cell vehicle, heat recovery from hybrid drier and heat exchangers with two-port and flat tubes. In the alternative refrigeration/energy system category, subjects include membrane module for dehumidification refrigeration, desiccant-assisted low-temperature drying, regenerative evaporative cooler and ejector-assisted multi-stage evaporation. In the system control category, subjects include multi-refrigeration system control, emergency cooling of data center and variable-speed compressor control. (4) In building mechanical system research fields, fifteenth studies were reported for achieving effective design of the mechanical systems, and also for maximizing the energy efficiency of buildings. The topics of the studies included energy performance, HVAC system, ventilation, renewable energies, etc. Proposed designs, performance tests using numerical methods and experiments provide useful information and key data which could be help for improving the energy efficiency of the buildings. (5) The field of architectural environment was mostly focused on indoor environment and building energy. The main researches of indoor environment were related to the analyses of indoor thermal environments controlled by portable cooler, the effects of outdoor wind pressure in airflow at high-rise buildings, window air tightness related to the filling piece shapes, stack effect in core type's office building and the development of a movable drawer-type light shelf with adjustable depth of the reflector. The subjects of building energy were worked on the energy consumption analysis in office building, the prediction of exit air temperature of horizontal geothermal heat exchanger, LS-SVM based modeling of hot water supply load for district heating system, the energy saving effect of ERV system using night purge control method and the effect of strengthened insulation level to the building heating and cooling load.

소형 선박용 연료전지 시스템 모델 개발 (Development of a Fuel Cell System Model for a Small Ship)

  • 본 연구에서는 선박 전원용 연료전지 시스템 모델을 개발하여 순수한 산소를 공급하여 진행한 실험 결과의 비교를 통하여 연료전지 시스템 모델을 검증하였다. 검증된 모델을 활용하여 공기 압축기를 사용하여 공기를 공급할 경우에 대하여 산소를 공급한 경우와의 연료전지 출력 특성을 비교 검토하였다. 또한, 연료전지 시스템의 열물성치 변화가 스택의 출력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 관하여 검토하였다. 그 결과 본 연구의 실험 범위에서 캐소드 공급 가스로 순수한 산소를 공급한 경우의 모델링을 통한 계산 결과와 실험 결과는 전 부하 영역에서 거의 동일한 전압 및 출력을 얻을 수 있었다. 560 A의 일정한 부하에서 캐소드 공급용 산소를 대신하여 공기를 공급한 경우 각각의 스택 전압은 약 14 V, 스택 출력은 약 8 kW, 스택 효율은 약 3 % 및 전체 시스템 효율은 8 % 정도 낮아짐을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 검토한 열물성치 중에서 스택에 대한 냉각수의 열전달 계수가 스택의 출력에 가장 큰 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다.

  • A review on the papers published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineering in 1998 and 1999 has been done. Focus has been put on current status of research in the aspect of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation and building environment. The conclusions are as follows. 1) A review of the recent studies on fluid flow, turbomachinery and pipe-network shows that many experimental investigations are conducted in applications of impingement jets. Researches on turbulent flows, pipe flows, pipe-networks are focused on analyses of practical systems and prediction of system performance. The results of noise reduction in the turbomachinery are also reported. 2) A review of the recent studies on heat transfer analysis and heat exchanger shows that there were many papers on the channel flow with the application to the design of heat exchanger in the heat transfer analysis. Various experimental and numerical papers on heat exchanger were also published, however, there were few papers available for the analysis of whole system including heat exchanger. 3) A review of the recent studies on heat pump system have focused on the multi-type system and the heat pump cycle to utilize treated sewage as the heat source. The defrosting and the frosting behaviors in the fin-tube heat exchanger is experimentally examined by several authors. Several papers on the ice storage cooling system are presented to show the dynamic simulation program and optimal operation conditions. The study on the micro heat pipes for the cooling of high power electronic components is carried out to examine the characteristics of heat and mass transfer processed. In addition to these, new type of separate thermosyphon is studied experimentally. 4) The recent studies on refrigeration/air conditioning system have focused on the system performance and efficiency for new alternative refrigerants. New systems operating with natural refrigerants are drawing lots of attention. In addition to these, evaporation and condensation heat transfer characteristics of traditional and new refrigerants are investigated for plain tubes and also for microfin tubes. Capillary tubes and orifice are main topics of research as expansion devices and studies on thermophysical properties of new refrigerants and refrigerant/oil mixtures are widely carried out. 5) A review of the recent studies on absorption cooling system shows that numerous experimental and analytical studies on the improvement of absorber performance have been presented. Dynamic analysis of compressor have been performed to understand its vibration characteristics. However research works on tow-phase flow and heat transfer, which could be encountered in the refrigeration system and various phase-change heat exchanger, were seemed to be insufficient. 6) A review of recent studies on duct system shows that the methods for circuit analysis, and flow balancing have been presented. Researches on ventilation are focused on the measurement of ventilation efficiency, and variation of ventilation efficiency with ventilation methods by numerous experimental and numerical studies. Furthermore, many studies have been conducted in real building in order to estimate indoor thermal environments. Many research works to get some information for cooling tower design have been performed but are insufficient. 7) A review on the recent studies on architectural thermal environment and building mechanical systems design shows that thermal comfort analysis is sitting environment, thermal performance analysis of Korean traditional building structures., and evaluation of building environmental load have been performed. However research works to improve the performance of mechanical system design and construction technology were seemed to be insufficient.
