  • This article is focusing on the improvement of weapon system test & evaluation, aimed at the weapon system in the research development stage. This article suggests improvement directions in three aspects(organization and system, skilled manpower and technology, test facilities of weapon system test & evaluation) as follows. 1) Weapon system test & evaluation organization and system a. Establishment of comprehensive test & evaluation system b. Making regulation for comprehensive test infrastructure management. c. Standardization of test & evaluation process, which can be used in special subject to army, navy and air force. 2) Skilled manpower and technology of weapon system test & evaluation a. Training & education, management of test & evaluation experts. b. Establishment of skill management system of test & evaluation. 3) Test facilities of weapon system test & evaluation a. Establishment of comprehensive improvement direction of test & evaluation installation and equipment. b. Consideration of counter measures to prevent overlapping investment, and to use the test & evaluation resources efficiently. c. Establishment of organic network for the effective use of test & evaluation installation and equipment. d. Establishment of detailed cooperation plan for the commonage of test & evaluation facility and equipment.

Systematic Review of the Literatures on Music Intervention for Neurological Patients in Korea (신경계 질환자 대상의 국내 음악중재연구에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review the literature on music intervention for neurological patients in Korea and to explore the effect of music intervention on functional rehabilitation of neurological patients. Methods: This systematic review examined literature from 2005 to 2010. The existing literature was searched in the electronic databases of RISS and KISS using the following keywords: music, rhythmic movement, stroke, brain injury, dementia, Parkinson, spinal cord injury. Seventy-seven studies were founded through the database. After The exclusion of duplicates, case studies, literature review, and irrelevant studies, nine studies were included for analysis. Results: They included nine quasi-experimental studies. The medical diagnoses of the study participants were stroke, dementia, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. Among nine studies, only two studies were conducted in the nursing area. Eight studies used comprehensive music programs composed of health education, gait training, vocal training, or relaxation therapy, and these comprehensive programs were effective in the areas of physical and psychosocial treatment. Seventeen sessions were provided on average throughout intervention, and the average duration of each session was 49.4 minutes. Conclusion: Comprehensive music intervention can be implemented in nursing care for patients with neurological problem.

Proactive: Comprehensive Access to Job Information

  • The Internet has become an increasingly important source for finding the right employees, so more and more companies post their job openings on the Web. The large amount and dynamic nature of career recruiting information causes information overload problems for job seekers. To assist Internet users in searching for the right job, a range of research and commercial systems were developed over the past 10 years. Surprisingly, the majority of existing job search systems support just one, rarely two ways of information access. In contrast, our work focused on exploring a value of comprehensive access to job information in a single system (i.e., a system which supports multiple ways). We designed Proactive, a recommendation system providing comprehensive and personalized information access. To assist the varied needs of users, Proactive has four information retrieval methods - a navigable list of jobs, keyword-based search, implicit preference-based recommendations, and explicit preference-based recommendations. This paper introduces the Proactive and reports the results of a study focusing on the experimental evaluation of these methods. The goal of the study was to assess whether all of the methods are necessary for users to find relevant jobs and to what extent different methods can meet different users' information requirements.

  • For achieving urban regeneration project, systematic research and analysis about various urban activities are developed urban area. On the based of the research and analysis, a comprehensive regeneration system should be approached to support and manage of an urban regeneration project. This system can be utilized all phase of an urban regeneration project, and it is important link-up and utilization the related GIS. This study will offer that basic strategies of building a comprehensive system for urban regeneration project, and contribute to building a system to support all phase of an urban regeneration project. Also, this study will provide a opportunity to local gov. and central gov. that improve utilize built system.

Development of an evaluation method for nuclear fuel debris-filtering performance

  • Fuel failure due to debris is a major cause of failure in pressurized water reactors. Fuel vendors have developed various filtering devices to reduce debris-induced failure and have evaluated filtering performance with their own test facilities and methods. Because of the different test facilities and methods, it is difficult to compare filtering performances objectively. This study presents an improved filtering test and an efficiency calculation method to fairly compare fuel-filtering efficiency regardless of the vendor's filtering features. To enhance the reliability of our evaluation, we established requirements for the test method and had a facility constructed according to the requirements. This article describes the debris specimens, the amount of debris, and the replicates for the proposed test method. A calculation method of comprehensive debris-filtering efficiency using a weighted mean is proposed. The test method was verified by repeated tests, and the tests were carried out using the PLUS7 and 17ACE7 test fuels to calculate the comprehensive debris-filtering efficiencies. The evaluation results revealed that the filtering performance of PLUS7 is better than that of 17ACE7. The proposed method can be used on any kind of debris-filtering devices and is appropriate for use as a standard.

Effect of Nurse-led Community Comprehensive Exercise Program for Elderly with Chronic Osteoarthritis (만성 골관절염 노인을 위한 지역사회 간호사 주도 복합운동 프로그램의 효과)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of a nurse-led community comprehensive exercise program on the body composition, physical function, and health-related quality of life in elderly patients with osteoporosis. Method: The study was conducted with one group pretest-posttest design. A total of 57 elderly patients participated in 8 weeks of intervention. Data was analyzed with the SPSS ver. 23.0 using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. Results: At the end of the intervention, body mass index was significantly increased (t=2.93, p=.005), but right leg balance (t=2.40, p=.02) was significantly improved. In addition, the total Korean-Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (K-WOMAC) (t=3.48, p=.001), knee pain (t=2.61, p=.012), stiffness (t=2.53, p=.014), and physical function (t=3.51, p=.001) were significantly decreased. EuroQoL Visual Analogue Scale (EQ-VAS) scores (t=4.25, p<.001) were significantly improved. Conclusion: The nurse-led eight-week community comprehensive exercise program did not show desirable change in the body composition but was effective on the physical function and health-related quality of life for older people with osteoartritis.

A Framework for Climate Change Risk Management (기후변화 위험관리를 위한 체계)

  • Purpose: This study aims to propose a framework for climate change risk management by analyzing characteristics of climate-induced disasters. Method: The recent global and domestic trends of loss and damage under natural disaster events and the characteristics of climate-induced disasters were analyzed to design a framework for climate change risk management. Results: In consideration of the uncertainty of climate risk and various spatio-temporal scales of climate disasters, a new framework is suggested for comprehensive climate risk management that includes risk assessment, goal setting, planning, monitoring and evaluation, learning and adjustment. The framework aims at an iterative process that is activated by stakeholder engagement. Conclusion: Pilot studies need to be conducted to revise and polish the framework in the future, and institutional arrangements should be prepared for the effective implementation of the comprehensive climate risk management.

  • The role of neuroimaging in patients with acute ischemic stroke has been gradually increasing. The ultimate goal of stroke imaging is to make a streamlined imaging workflow for safe and efficient treatment based on optimized patient selection. In the era of multimodal comprehensive imaging in strokes, imaging based on computed tomography (CT) has been preferred for use in acute ischemic stroke, because, despite the unique strengths of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), MRI has a longer scan duration than does CT-based imaging. However, recent improvements, such as multicoil technology and novel MRI acceleration techniques, including parallel imaging, simultaneous multi-section imaging, and compressed sensing, highlight the potential of comprehensive MR-based imaging for strokes. In this review, we discuss the role of stroke imaging in acute ischemic stroke management, as well as the strengths and limitations of MR-based imaging. Given these concepts, we review the current MR acceleration techniques that could be applied to stroke imaging and provide an overview of the previous research on each essential sequence: diffusion-weighted imaging, gradient-echo, fluid-attenuated inversion recovery, contrast-enhanced MR angiography, and MR perfusion imaging.

Factors Affecting Turnover Intention of Nurses in Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Wards: Focusing on Occupational Stress, Emotional Labor, and Burnout (간호·간병통합서비스 병동 간호사의 이직의도 영향요인: 직무 스트레스, 감정노동 및 소진을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the factors affecting turnover intention of nurse who work in comprehensive nursing care service wards. Methods: The study design was a cross-sectional study. We recruited participants in 5 general hospitals located in Gyeonggi. Data were collected using structured questionnaires. Data of 150 nurses were included in the final analysis. Multiple regression analysis was used to identify the influencing factors on turnover intention. Results: Work in the thoracic surgery department (β=.158, p=.045), Emotional labor (β=.282, p=.004), occupational stress (β=.222, p=.004), and burnout (β=.249, p=.003) were identified as factors influencing turnover intention. These factors explained 39.1% of the variance of turnover intention. Conclusion: The findings suggest that it is important to reduce emotional labor and occupational stress to reduce turnover intention for nurse in comprehensive nursing care service wards.

  • In response to environmental changes, signaling pathways rewire gene expression programs through transcription factors. Epigenetic modification of the transcribed RNA can be another layer of gene expression regulation. N6-adenosine methylation (m6A) is one of the most common modifications on mRNA. It is a reversible chemical mark catalyzed by the enzymes that deposit and remove methyl groups. m6A recruits effector proteins that determine the fate of mRNAs through changes in splicing, cellular localization, stability, and translation efficiency. Emerging evidence shows that key signal transduction pathways including TGFβ (transforming growth factor-β), ERK (extracellular signal-regulated kinase), and mTORC1 (mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1) regulate downstream gene expression through m6A processing. Conversely, m6A can modulate the activity of signal transduction networks via m6A modification of signaling pathway genes or by acting as a ligand for receptors. In this review, we discuss the current understanding of the crosstalk between m6A and signaling pathways and its implication for biological systems.
