탈피 탈지 대두분 식이가 흰쥐에서 식후 Lipid Profile과 효소, 호르몬 농도에 미치는영향 (Effectso f Dehulled Defatted Soy Flour on Postprandial Lipid Profile and Enzyme and Hormone Levels in Rats)

  • This study was undertaken to determine whether dehulled defatted flour has an effect on postprandial plasma lipoprotein composition, hepatic lipid composition, enzyme and hormone levels in rats. Control(casein) and experimental (dehulled defatted soy flour)diets were fed to rats for 7 weeks. all animals (S. D. rats, male) were sacrificed 2 hrs after the feeding of 5g of each diet. Defatted soy flour feeding significantly lowered postprandial plasma total cholesterol, chylomicron/VLDL-cholesterol, hepatic cholesterol and triglyceride(TG) as compared with casein feeding, whereas no significant effect on plasma TG was observed. Intestinal kipase activity was elevated , whereas trypsin activity was suppressed in the dehulled defatted soy flour group. Plasma glucagon, thyroid hormone and hepatic HMG-coA reductase levels were not affected by diet treatment. These results hypothesize that dehulled defatted soy flour affects cholesterol digestion and absorption in guts, thus delaying the appearance of chylomicron cholesterol in plasma or affecting the disappearance of chylomicron remnant to high-density-lipoprotein(HDL).

에너지 절약형 증류시스템의 에탄올 제조공정에의 응용 (Application of Energy-Efficient Distillation System in Ethanol Process)

  • 열복합 증류탑을 활용하여 기존의 에탄올 농축공정보다 에너지 사용량을 절감한 새로운 에탄올 농축공정을 제안하였다. 벤젠을 분리제로 사용한 제안된 증류 시스템은 증류곡선이 평형농도 곡선과 유사하게 분포되도록 설계되었으며, 증류영역의 경계에 가까운 원료 조성을 가지도록 설계하여 최대의 증류효율을 얻도록 구성하였다. 본 연구의 증류시 스템은 기존의 농축시스템에 비해 약 18%의 에너지 절감효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또, 여타의 유사한 공비증류 공정에 활용할 수 있는 설계방안을 제시하였다.

Dietary Carob Pods on Growth Performance and Meat Quality of Fattening Pigs

  • In this experiment the effect of dietary carob pods in the growth performance of fattening pigs and their meat quality, including steak chemical composition and fatty acid profile, were examined. A total of 160 weaning piglets, 30 days old, were allocated into four equal groups with 4 subgroups of 5 female and 5 males each. The animals were fed with isocaloric and isonitrogenous diets, containing either 0 or 75 or 100 or 125 g of carob pods per kg of feed. At the end of the experiment, on the 180 day of age, carcass subcutaneous fat thickness, steak chemical composition and steak fatty acid profile were determined. The results of the experiment showed that the dietary addition of 75 or 100 g/kg carob pods increased body weight at slaughter and carcass weight. No significant effect was noticed on the other examined carcass parameters. Consequently, carob pods could be suggested as a potential feed for fattening pigs without any adverse effect on their meat quality.

  • The effect of slaughter weight and gender on fatty acid composition of homogenised rib samples of Hungarian Simmental (HS) and Holstein-Friesian (HF) cattle breeds was investigated. In the first experiment 22 Hungarian Simmental and 18 Holstein-Friesian cattle's meat, in the second experiment 15 females and 12 males Holstein-Friesian cattle's meat was analysed on fatty acid content. Saturated and mono- or polyunsaturated fatty acid profile did not seem to vary either by breed or by slaughter weight categories. The effect of gender, however, proved to be significant in influencing the quantity of polyunsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic and linolenic acids, as well as polyunsaturated fatty/saturated fatty acids (PUFA/SAFA) ratio. The amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) was higher in males than in females. Negative correlation was established between the quantity of PUFA and the amount of adipose tissue in rib samples.

  • Cefuroxime axetil, a broad spectrum antibiotic, has been known to form a gelatinous mass in contact with aqueous media, which could lead to poor dissolution. Therefore, this study was conducted for removing the gelling phenomenon and thereby obtaining a favorable dissolution profile. We have found that the addition of poly (methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate) could not only inhibit the tendency of cefuroxime axetil to form a gel but also showed the good dissolution profile compared to the formula without poly (methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate). 미세전류자극과 복합운동이 비만 여대생의 체성분과 혈중지질성분 변화에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Microcurrent stimulation and Combined exercise on Body composition and Blood lipid profile in Young obese women)

  • 본 연구는 미세전류자극이 비만인의 체성분과 혈중지질성분의 변화에 미치는 효과를 규명하고, 복합운동의 효과와 비교함으로써 효과적인 체형 관리 방안으로서 미세전류자극의 유용성을 밝히고자 하였다. 체지방율 30% 이상인 여대생 30명을 통제집단, 복합운동집단, 미세전류자극집단으로 분류하였으며, 각 집단 별 4주간의 처치 전후 체중, 체지방율, 허리 둘레 등의 체성분 요인과 TG, TC, apolipoprotein 등의 혈중지질성분을 측정한 자료를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 통제집단에서는 모든 측정 항목에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않은 반면 복합운동 집단에서는 허리둘레와 TC가 유의하게 감소한 것으로 나타났고, 미세전류자극 집단에서는 체중, 체지방율, 허리둘레, apolipoprotein 등이 유의하게 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 고려할 때 미세전류 자극은 비만인의 체성분과 혈중지질성분을 개선시켜 건강한 신체를 갖도록 하는데 효과적인 중재 방안으로 제안할 수 있다.

  • The design composition elements and the mechanical behavior of trusses have been investigated for Pratt trusses. As a result, it was determined that the design composition elements of the trusses consist of the composition of webs, the distance between joints, the chords profile, the depth of the truss, and the double chord composition. In addition, by analyzing models with a variation of elements, comprehensive features of structural behavior have been presented for variations of design of Pratt trusses. This is to provide more effective and useful design information on truss structure in the architectural and structural planning stage.

Numerical Study of Enhanced Performance in InGaN Light-Emitting Diodes with Graded-composition AlGaInN Barriers

  • In this paper, we report the effect of GaN/graded-composition AlGaInN/GaN quantum barriers in active regions on the electrical and optical properties of GaN-based vertical light emitting diodes (VLEDs). By modifying the aluminum composition profile within the AlGaInN quantum barrier, we have achieved improvements in the output power and the internal quantum efficiency (IQE) as compared to VLEDs using conventional GaN barriers. The forward voltages at 350 mA were calculated to be 3.5 and 4.0 V for VLEDs with GaN/graded-composition AlGaInN/GaN barriers and GaN barriers, respectively. The light-output power and IQE of VLEDs with GaN/graded-composition AlGaInN/GaN barriers were also increased by 4.3% and 9.51%, respectively, as compared to those with GaN barriers.

탄성밴드운동이 간호대학생의 체성분, 체력과 건강증진행위에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Resistance Band Exercise on Body Composition, Physical Fitness and Health Promoting Behavior in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a resistance band training program on body composition, physical fitness, and health promotion behavior in nursing students. Method: This study has a one-group pretest-posttest design to examine the change in body composition, physical fitness, and health-promoting lifestyle profile after participation in the resistance band training program. Training consisted of hands-based exercises using an elastic resistance band for ten weeks. Participants performed the resistance band training two days per week with a sports trainer, and 30 minutes self-training three days per week. The participants were 21 freshmen in nursing. Results: Mean age of the participants was 20.9 years, and 61.9% were not satisfied with their body shape. After the training program, muscle mass, muscular endurance, and balance of the body were significantly improved. In health promoting lifestyle profile, categories of physical activity, health responsibility, and stress management showed a significant increase. Conclusion: Results of this study suggested that exercising with a resistance band improved body composition, physical fitness, and health promoting behavior in the nursing students. We propose that resistance band training should be suitable for those who have the environment with limitation of time and space.

흡연여대생의 지질섭취와 혈중지질 및 지방산 조성에 관한 연구 (Studies on Lipid Intake, Serum Lipid Profiles and Serum Fatty Acid Composition in College Women Who Smoke)

  • Cigarette smoking has long been recognized as a major risk factor in the development of coronary heart disease. Several investigators have reported the strong association between smoking and high serum cholesterol, triglyceride concentration, SFA and low HDL cholesterol, PUFA and $\omega$6 concentrations. Therefore, this study was done to investigate the effect of smoking on the serum lipid profile and fatty acid composition of college women. Sixty-one non-smokers and twenty-seven smokers were selected from college women students in the Seoul area. Their lipid intake, serum lipid concentration and fatty acid composition were examined. There were no differences in the general characteristics and anthropometric indices between the smokers and non-smokers. However, alcohol consumption was significantly higher in smokers than non-smokers (p<0.001). The daily caloric intake of smokers and non-smokers were 1875.84 kcal and 1915.53 kacl, respectively. On the other hand, the mean daily intake of lipids and cholesterol were significantly lower in smokers (p<0.05). In smokers, the mean concentrations of serum total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and the LDL-C/HDL-C ratio were higher, and the compositions of EPA and DHA were lowe than in non-smokers. There was a negative correlation between the serum triglyceride and PUFA levels in the two groups. Also, serum HDL-C correlated negatively with MUFA in smokers and non-smokers (p<0.01). These results suggest that smoking cause inadequate changes in serum lipid profile and serum fatty acid composition, thereby increasing the tendency for coronary heart disease.
