  • This paper tries to closely look at compliance knowledge relatedness and IT relatedness based on Tanriverdi's 'relatedness' concept. Also, this paper's main focus lies on how knowledge relatedness and IT relatedness influence compliance performance through compliance knowledge exploitation. The present study conducted a full-scale survey and finalized questionnaire was sent to compliance managers of 187 Korean multi-business firms. This study found (1) the impact of compliance knowledge relatedness on compliance performance, (2) the mediating role of knowledge exploitation on the relationship between compliance knowledge relatedness and compliance performance, and (3) the interaction effect of IT relatedness and compliance knowledge relatedness on knowledge exploitation. This paper contributes to both academic and business world by widening applicability of theories and providing guidelines conducive to improved compliance performance of corporations.

  • Purpose: Patients with chronic hepatitis B need lifelong health care because of progressive liver damage. The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with self-management compliance among patients with chronic hepatitis B. Methods: The research was a cross-sectional, descriptive design using questionnaires. The participants were 118 patients with chronic hepatitis B from outpatient department in a tertiary hospital. Their ages ranged from 20 to 64. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression with PASW statistics 19.0 program. Results: There were statistically significant differences in self management compliance by gender, age, job, alcohol consumption, and smoking. A positive correlation existed between self-management compliance, awareness of the importance of management, and self efficacy. Stepwise multiple regression analysis for self-management compliance revealed that the most powerful predictor was self efficacy. Self efficacy, age, and alcohol consumption explained 37.5% of the variance. Conclusion: The results indicate a need to promote self-management compliance with these participants. The findings also suggest that consideration be given to characteristics of age and alcohol consumption in developing strategies for enhancing self efficacy and developing programs to promote self-management for patients with chronic hepatitis B.

  • Purpose - There is a paucity of literature dealing with exporters' compliance issues in e-commerce exports. This study aims to fill this gap in the literature by exploring customs initiatives to facilitate the e-commerce exports of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the changed compliance environment. The central question of this study was divided into five subquestions: first regarding the pros and cons of trade facilitation measures for Korean e-commerce export clearance; second and third questions about risk and compliance management for facilitation fourth about instruments, the changes in Korean SME compliance burden in e-commerce exports, and ways to improve trade facilitation for e-commerce exports. Design/methodology - This study adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method to understand the SME experience in Korean e-commerce export compliance procedures. A qualitative method was selected to answer research questions requiring an in-depth understanding of the regulatory procedures of customs administration and exporters' compliance burden. Because this study addresses the changing compliance environment for which statistical data is insufficient, a quantitative method is considered inappropriate. Based on the approach, data were collected using multiple sources, including an extensive literature review, interviews, and field observations. Thematic pattern matching was applied to interpret the data. Findings - This study examined ways to support SMEs in the changed e-commerce export compliance environment. Facilitation measures for e-commerce exports have contributed to SME access to global markets, simplifying export clearance procedures, and saving exporters' compliance costs. However, such instruments are limited in promoting SME compliance capabilities to cope with intensified competition and strengthened controls over foreign exporters in cross-border e-commerce. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of reshaping facilitation measures for e-commerce exports based on risk and compliance management theories to a system encouraging exporters' voluntary compliance. Originality/value - This study's academic significance derives from verifying the relationship between trade facilitation instruments and risk and compliance management procedures using an actual case in Korea. It is also of practical importance in navigating the directions for improving facilitation measures for e-commerce exports in a changed compliance environment.

  • Recently occupational safety and health literatures begin to emphasize the influence of social, organizational or psychological context. Based on this research trend, this paper tried to review the relationship between safety climates and safety compliance. Based on the responses from 385 manufacturing workers, this paper reviewed the relationships among safety climates, safety motivation, and safety compliance. Methods: The participants of this study consisted of 109 COPD patients who were outpatients in C and K hospital located in G city from March 1 to September 30th, 2010. Data were measured using self-administered questionnaires and observational checklist. The data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 18.0 program that included mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, Sheffe test, and Pearson's correlation. Results: There were significant relationships between knowledge and attitude (r=.33, $p$ <.001), between knowledge and correct MDI use (r=.37, $p$ <.001), and between knowledge and self-management compliance (r=.28, $p$=.003). There was significant relationship between attitude and self-management compliance (r=.33. $p$ <.001). In contrast, attitude was not significantly related to correct MDI use. • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify effects of a self-management program on self-efficacy and compliance in patients with CHF. Hypothesis: 1) Patients with CHF who are provided with a self-management program will show higher self-efficacy scores than a control group. 2) Patients who are provided with a self-management program will show higher compliance scores than a control group. Method: This study was designed as a nonequivalent non-synchronized pre-posttest control group. There were eight patients in the experimental group, and twelve in the control group. According to NYHA classification, all patients belonged under the classesII to IV. Data were collected using the instruments developed by the researchers. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Mann Whitney U test. Result: There were significant differences in self-efficacy scores and compliance scores between the experimental and control group. Conclusion: By utilizing the program, patients were able to monitor their symptoms routinely, comply with therapeutic regimen, and feel better able to positively influence their disease. Therefore, better compliance means fewer readmissions of patients with CHF.
