This study addressing the underlying strategies for Andong municipal museum complex development is in timely view that Andong has obtained a worldwide reputation as a treasury of traditional Korean Confucian culture. Thus far, there has been a tendency that various local museums are proposed to meet architectural aspirations architects and users commonly hold. Overall, though, the major role they play in making overall city image has not been considered in a systematic manner. Based on Lee's (2001) two previous studies, this study summarized the utility of cognitive distance and cognitive map concepts, which are proposed by Kevin Lunch (1976) to evaluate city image, in planning Andong municipal museum complex (AMMC). Sample is stratified into city residents and outsiders, and also into the general public and design-related professionals to see if there is any group difference in constructing their mental image. Three major findings are obtained. First, familiarity, so-called the degree of knowing, is the function of the length of stay in a designated area. That is, the longer people stay in Andong, the more likely they are familiar with its overall environmental aspects. Second, mental proximity of Andong municipal museum complex relative to existing cultural landmarks is closely related to the degree of how people value those landmarks in terms of their significance. Dosan Seowon and Hahoe folk village are most highly valued, which means higher proximity. Third, functional diversity turned out to be the most important design dimension, while display mechanism are least valued. Cognitive simulations of this sort are meaningful in that projected composite image might be a rough first approximation of true public image.
Purpose - The purpose of this study was to investigate consistency in estimating the number of vacant jobs using the two business labor force survey with two different time points of survey. Design/methodology/approach - We studied the cause of the differences in estimating the number of vacant jobs between the monthly sample and the new sample in business labor force survey. Findings - To summarize our findings, As the size of the company increases, the number of vacant jobs in the company also increases, and the probability that the number of vacant jobs in the company is zero decreases. The monthly sample was assessed to have a higher likelihood that the number of vacant jobs in the company was zero and the number of vacant jobs was considerable compared to the local sample. Research implications or Originality - Because local survey sample companies tend to minimize the number of vacant jobs even when they reply under the same conditions, the estimation result of the number of vacant jobs in the current monthly survey differs significantly from the estimation result of the local survey. Divergent "degrees of knowledge of question items," survey methodologies, or investigators could be the causes of the various response trends.
Epistasis that may explain a large portion of the phenotypic variation for complex economic traits of animals has been ignored in many genetic association studies. A Baysian method was introduced to draw inferences about multilocus genotypic effects based on their marginal posterior distributions by a Gibbs sampler. A simulation study was conducted to provide statistical powers under various unbalanced designs by using this method. Data were simulated by combined designs of number of loci, within genotype variance, and sample size in unbalanced designs with or without null combined genotype cells. Mean empirical statistical power was estimated for testing posterior mean estimate of combined genotype effect. A practical example for obtaining empirical statistical power estimates with a given sample size was provided under unbalanced designs. The empirical statistical powers would be useful for determining an optimal design when interactive associations of multiple loci with complex phenotypes were examined.
In order to make statistically valid inferences for survey data based on complex probability sample designs, survey researchers must incorporate the sample design in the data analysis If this in not the case the variance estimates of survey statistics derived under the usual simple random sampling assumptions from an infinite population generally underestimate the true variance, which results in high Type l error level. In this article we introduce new software packages dedicated to analyze complex survey data In particular, we summarize analysis capabilities on SUDAAN Version 7.5 and SAS Version 8.

This study explored the effect of Sociocultural attitudes toward appearance on appearance concerns, appearance management behavior, appearance complex, face satisfaction, and body satisfaction. The sample of the study was women aged between 20 and 40 who live in Seoul or Gyeonggi-do. We used 292 questionnaires for the final statistical analysis. Data were analyzed by common factor analysis, and multiple linear regression using SPSS 12.0 / Windows. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, Sociocultural attitudes toward appearance were classified into internalization and awareness, appearance management into weight control, hair care, make-up, and skin care, and appearance complex into complex from other people and complex from self. Internalization showed significant positive effects on appearance concerns, hair care, weight control, face satisfaction, and body satisfaction; however, there were negative effects on make-up, skin care, and complex from other people. Awareness showed significant positive effects on make-up skin care, weight control, and complex from other people; however, there were negative effects on appearance concerns, hair care, face satisfaction, and body satisfaction.
Background: The purpose of this study is to provide the data for discussions related to oral health promotion policies for single-person households by analyzing the status of unmet dental needs and related factors in single-person households in Korea, based on the Anderson model. Methods: The data, obtained from 544 single-person households of those over 20 years old who were targeted for the 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, were analyzed through a complex sample frequency analysis, complex sample cross analysis (Rao-Scott chi-square test), and complex sample binary logistic regression analysis on a complex sampling design. Results: The most frequently given reason for an unmet dental need among single-person households was economic (52.4%). Factors related to the unmet dental needs of single-person households are smoking, which is a predisposing factor; personal income levels, which are an enabling factor; chewing discomfort; and limited daily activities, which are need factors. Smokers, the high-income group, the chewing-discomfort group, and the limited activity group showed high unmet dental care experience. Smokers had a 2.75 times higher rate of unmet dental care than non-smokers, and the high-income group had a 5.29 times higher rate of unmet dental needs than the median group. The rate of unmet dental needs for the chewing discomfort group was 3.27 times higher than the non-chewing discomfort group, and the limited activity group had a 7.87 times higher rate of unmet dental needs than the non-limited activity group. Conclusion: It is necessary to map out policies designed to help maintain and promote met dental needs considered to be internally heterogeneous to single-person householders, based on the Anderson model.

Purpose : Many studies have confirmed the relationship between physical exercise, chronic diseases, and quality of life, but few of those studies were limited to aerobic exercise. Above all, no research has confirmed the relationship between aerobic exercise and the oral health. This study is significant because it is the first study to confirm the relationship between aerobic exercise, which is practiced more frequently than other exercises, and oral health in adults. Through this study, we hoped to confirm the complex impacts of aerobic exercise on health-related quality of life, oral health-related behavior, and oral health status in adults and to use these impacts as basic data on the importance of aerobic exercise. Methods : In this study, the following analysis was conducted based on a complex sample design that applied stratification variables, cluster variables, and weights using SPSS version 21.0. Complex sample cross-analysis was conducted to identify general characteristics according to aerobic physical activity practice, and oral health-related characteristics according to the aerobic physical activity practice rate. Then, complex sample logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of aerobic physical activity practice on oral health-related characteristics. During the statistical analysis, missing values were treated as valid values, and the statistical significance level was set at .05. Results : Aerobic physical activity practice was 1.39 times higher among the respondents who brushed their teeth after lunch (p<.001), 1.43 times higher among those who used dental floss (p<.001), 1.24 times higher among those who used mouthwash (p=.040), and 1.37 times higher was among those who had not experienced dental treatment (p=.040), which were statistically significant differences. Conclusion : This study found that when an individual's health status is maintained, positive oral health behavior can be achieved by paying attention to oral health, and this appears to contribute to improving oral health.
Objectives: For postmenopausal women who participated in the 2019 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, we aimed to provide basic data for oral health management interventions and oral policies for each life cycle of postmenopausal women by identifying the relationship between physical activity and depression on oral health behavior and awareness symptoms. Methods: The participants of this study were 1,628 menopausal women, and their general characteristics, physical activity, depression, and oral health behavior and awareness symptoms were investigated. This study used the complex sample frequency analysis, complex sample 𝞆2 test, and logistic regression analysis method, which is a sample design of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Results: The factors influencing physical activity were the use of oral hygiene device and chewing difficulty. and the influencing factors of depression experience were pain and chewing difficulty. Conclusions: As a result, physical activity and depression experience should be utilized by developing and oral health program for the promotion of oral health in postmenopausal women.
Most of the sample surveys conducted by several statistics preparation agencies are multipurpose surveys inquiring into several distinguishing items through a single sample. In a multipurpose sample design, the stratification tends to be very complex since the stratification variables which are both multivariate and heterogeneous must be considered collectively. In this paper we point out an outlier effect in a multivariate stratification to which the K-means clustering method is applied and propose to consider outliers prior to the stratification step. We also show an empirical stratification effect under consideration of outliers through a case study of sample design for The Rural Living Indicators.
Procedures, such as sampling technique, survey method, and questionnaire preparation, are required in order to obtain sample data in accordance with the purpose of a survey. An important procedure is the decision of the sample size formula. The sample size formula is determined by setting the target error and total cost according to the sampling method. In this paper, we propose a sample size formula using population changes over time, estimation error of the previous time and response rate of past data when the target error and the expected response rate are given in the simple random sampling. In actual research, we use estimators that apply complex weights in addition to design-based weights. Therefore, we induce a sample size formula for estimators using design-based weights and nonresponse adjustment coefficients, that can be a formula that reflects differences in response rates when survey methods are changed over time. In addition, we use simulations to compare the proposed formula with the existing sample size formula.
