  • Korean railroad has been accomplished the structural change through separating of facilities and operation of railroad in 2004. The existent government organization was transformed into the public, this caused problem of renovation of railroad management. Korean railroad has been the integrated management of passenger and freight. As putting the passenger service as a priority, freight transportation have fallen behind and not attained good sales results. Restructuring in Korean railroad would bring about considerable improvement, but still not come out of the deficit operation. To find a way out of this situation, there needs to make renovation and extend new enterprise. However, to operate the railway freight transportation more competitively, make up situation that can possess competitive power fundamentally. From this perspective, the purpose of this study is to analyze the necessity for separated operation of passenger and freight railway transportation. By doing this can expect to obtain the competition power of railway freight transportation, and is a help to build up the independent management system of railway freight transportation and secure competitive high position about other transportation systems especially road.

호텔.레스토랑의 서비스품질 인식 차이(Gap)와 경영성과 간의 상관성 (The Effect of Cognitive Gap on the Hotel Restaurant Performance)

  • Up to these days, hotels are assumed to compete each other. Due to the spread of high quality the hotel restaurants have begun to face an intensive competition. Hotel food at Beverage have become the more competitive along with fund, good price, service, quality food, and management know-how. It causes the hotel restaurants confront with management difficulties. In order to overcome the management difficulties, hotel restaurants have to improve their marketing abilities and especially to improve their service quality. For this, it is necessary fur hotel restaurants to investigate how their service providers and receivers recognize their service quality. In this research, we examined the cognitive three types of cognitive gaps among customers, service providers, and managers both on the service quality and on the positioning of hotel restaurants. Their cognitive gaps proved negatively correlated with hotel's performance. This research suggests the following findings. Firstly, the competitiveness of hotel restaurant depends on the accurate communication and consensus among managers, service providers, and customers. Secondly, using the information about cognitive gaps recognized, each hotel restaurant should develop concrete marketing plans and strategies with a careful consideration about its current competitive position and management condition.

  • Today, many companies will be isolated in competition if they do not have competitive power to overcome quick change and big crisis of market. Nowadays, globally high-grade companies have done their best for increasing their competitive power through a many kinds of methods in keen competition for making of pacesetting position. This study focuses on distribution with the domains like capacity, layout, amount of location, assignment of product, operation procedure and operation rule in order to improve these domains, we make a further application of eight analysis ways based on DMAIC method for improving operation of processes of distribution center as the third profit source. The purpose of this study is to seek an approach that can easily adopt of Lean Six Sigma in operational management of distribution center by a kind of data, analysis method and template.

세계 관상어산업의 경쟁력 분석을 통한 우리나라 관상어산업의 육성 방향 (Fostering direction of the Ornamental Fish Industry in Korea through a competitive analysis of International Ornamental Fish Industry)

  • This research examined a task to foster into the export industry, through analyzing the competitiveness of the ornamental fish industry and identifying the position of Korea's ornamental industry in the world. Ornamental fish in Korea holds the world's leading aquaculture technology, but products are limited to a few species, lacking competitive products. In the case of aquarium supplies, the Korean technology level is receiving relatively positive marks in the global market, but ornamental fish products are lagging behind the global trend. In other words, Korea's ornamental fish industry has the overall technical foundation, but lacks differentiation in the global market. Meanwhile, Korea's market share of world trade market in fishery products is minimal. Growth was also analyzed not high compared to other countries. Various trade competitiveness index results rated very low in competitiveness, but it is hard to compare Korea with other countries which have already built a strong foundation in the ornamental fish industry. Therefore, for the mid to long term Korea should adapt a "Choice and concentration" strategy and focus on the production of ornamental fish and aquarium supplies, which will enable Korea to become differentiated in the global market and capture the world exports.

  • This paper presents the sensorless control technique with cost competitive phase currents detection for PMSM drives. The phase currents are detected by two methods : one is from the do link current, another is from the currents of the lower legs of the inverter switches. The sensorless control with the phase currents dectection is implemented with DSP. It is verified through the experiment that the estimated rotor position tracks the real rotor position at the low speeds and high speeds operation with flux weakening.

  • We investigated and analyzed the technological landscape of the global pet food industry, focusing on related industries in Korea and abroad. This industry accounts for the largest share of the rapidly growing global pet market. We aimed to identify and develop technologies that can strengthen Korea's position in this market. Our study employed various quantitative methods, including time series analysis, country and applicant analysis, and International Patent Classification (IPC) technology analysis. These analyses allowed us to objectively assess the current technological status, patent application distribution, and technological trends in the pet food industry. Our findings revealed that the United States currently holds the leading position in terms of patent applications within the pet food industry. This suggests that to establish a differentiated competitive edge in this field, it's crucial to develop technologies with high usability and target specific segments within related industries. Additionally, focusing on interdisciplinary research that combines Korea's existing advanced technologies with other relevant fields is essential.

  • 본 연구는 126년간 제약업을 이어온 동화약품의 핵심가치를 분석하고 꾸준히 경쟁우위를 가질 수 있었던 핵심역량을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. VRIO Framework을 적용했을 때 126년간 액상형 소화제 시장에서 1위를 지키고 있는 동화약품의 '활명수'를 비롯한 다양한 일반의약품은 '지속적 경쟁우위'를 발생시키는 강력한 자원(Value)이다. 동화정신을 바탕으로 지켜온 원칙경영과 오랜 시간 굳건히 지켜온 믿음, 신뢰 그리고 기업가 정신은 희소성(Rarity)을 가진다. 기네스북 4관왕을 비롯한 다수의 신약 특허를 보유하고 있으며, '한국산업 브랜드파워' 소화제 부문 19년 연속 1위를 차지하며 '골든 브랜드'에 선정되었을 뿐 아니라 다수의 제품이 소비자에게 인지도가 매우 높은 점 등은 모방불가능성(Imitability)이 높다고 할 수 있다. 마지막으로 명확한 직급체계, 공정한 인사고가, 다양한 교육훈련, 높은 수준의 직원복지와 연봉 등 자원을 효율적으로 활용할 수 있도록 조직(Organization)되어 있다. 본 연구는 동화약품의 경영적 측면에서 핵심가치를 체계적으로 분석하였으며 더불어 장수기업으로 나아가기 위한 방향을 제시하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 장기적인 경영전략 수립 시 유용한 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

경쟁/협동상황에서의 4-5세 아동의 상호작용 관찰 연구 (An Observational Study on the Behaviors of 4-to 5-Year-Olds in the Cooperative/Competitive Situation)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate how 4-to 5-year-olds approach a competitive/cooperative task to obtain a resource. Sex and age differences were examined for the behavior and resource utilization of this task. The subjects were 74 same-age, mixed sex groups of 4 children each in three kindergartens in a large city. Each group of 4 children were classmates. The children were videotaped in a play situation where one child could view a cartoon movie (i. e. acquiring a resource) with the assistance of two children (one to turn the film tape and one to push the light-button), and the fourth child was a bystander. Time at each position and physical and verbal behavior constitute the data which were analyzed by ANOVA and ${\chi}^2$. The results of the time analysis showed that children cooperated quickly and were able to view the cartoon(resource utilization) for a large part of the session. High resource utilizers compared with low resource utilizers, exhibited more self-assertive and helping behaviors. Boys achieved more viewing time while girls were bystanders for a greater amount of time. Boys showed more physical and verbal behaviors during the task. Four-year-olds achieved less viewing time than 5-year-olds, indicating 4-year-olds were less effective in eliciting the help of their peers.
