  • This study investigated the effects of 'K-POP' preference on purchase intention of Korean products. Especially, it revealed the mediating role between the participation intention of Korean culture event and the purchase intention of Korean products. Further, we examined the difference in the path relation according to the use-behavior of Korean wave contents. In this proposed model, we can see 'K-POP' preference had a positive effect on participation intention of Korean culture event, but it was not significant for purchase intention of common products. The participation in Korean culture event had significant effects on the purchase intention of Korean culture products and the purchase intention of common products. However, the purchase intention of Korean culture products had no significant effects on the purchase intention of common products. Thus, our finding showed that higher preference of 'K-POP' did not make cause purchase intention of common products. Further, the higher the preference of 'K-POP' was, the higher the participation intension of Korean culture event was and, as a result, the purchase intention of common products got higher. In addition, path analysis results according to the media usage behaviors show that Chinese consumer who uses the internet and has a higher preference of 'K-POP' had a positive effect on the purchase intention of common products. Furthermore, it has a positive effect on both purchase intension of Korean culture products and purchase intension of common products. In case of Chinese consumer who use the television, radio and newspapers, K-POP preference had no significant effect on the purchase intension of common products.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the distribution and antifungal susceptibilities of Candida spp. from blood culture to provide useful information on empirical treatment of Candidemia. We investigated distribution and antifungal susceptibilities of Candida spp. isolated from blood culture during an 8-years (2016-2023) in a C-University hospital. Over 8 years, 1,182 Candida strains from blood culture were isolated, which was fourth most common cause of bloodstream infection. Among nonduplicated 350 Candida strains, C. albicans was the most common with 45.43%, followed by C. glabrata (17.43%), C. tropicalis (17.43%), C. parapsilosis (14.86%), C. guilliermondii (1.71%), C. krusei (0.86%), C. lusitaniae (0.86%), C. ciferrii (0.57%). In the antifungal susceptibility testing on 323 Candida strains, the non-susceptibility rate was 2.48% for amphotericin B, 1,71% for flucytosine, 3.09% for fluconazole, 4.66% for voriconazole, 5.57% for caspofungin, and 0.62% for micafungin. In particular, C. albicans showed non-susceptibility of 8.23% to voriconazole, and C. glabrata showed 14.81% and 24.59% to fluconazole and caspofungin, respectively. These data showed that the prevalence of candidemia is very common, and antifungal resistance in Candida spp., especially C. glabrata, is increasing. Therefore, periodic surveillance of prevalence and antifungal susceptibility of blood culture is very important for clinical laboratory.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the organizational culture of dental hospitals and clinics, as well as to assess members' perceptions and actual conditions related to sexual harassment. The research method involved conducting a cross-sectional survey of 149 dental hygienists using random sampling. The analysis utilized frequency analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. Regarding awareness of organizational culture within the workplace, 39.6% responded, "It is difficult to freely use maternity and childcare leave at our workplace". When asked about sexual harassment, 51.7% of respondents said they had received training on sexual harassment prevention. The highest level of sexual harassment experienced was "sexual analogy or evaluation of appearance", at 45.8%. The most common perpetrators of sexual harassment were agency heads and directors, at 37.5%. The most common behavior of the victim at the time was "changing the subject or avoiding the scene" (41.7%). 50.0% of victims of sexual harassment responded to the harm by "just putting up with it". The most common response to the direct and indirect impact of sexual harassment was "there was no specific impact". The most common response from the agency was "there were no suitable measures". Regarding the most necessary policy to prevent sexual harassment, "strict punishment for perpetrators (37.5%)" was the highest. There is a need for organizational and cultural changes to reduce sexual harassment in the workplace. Additionally, it is crucial for the country and society as a whole to actively participate in and improve the system.

  • To avoid calamities, the Chinese use different euphemisms in various fields of occupation and region. There are a lot of linguistic taboos concerned with Xieyin that shows the special characteristic of chinese characters. If two characters are homophones and one of them is considered offensive or misfortune, the Chinese prefer to substitute another expression for them in the actual conversations. These substitutes are called euphemisms. As an combined expression of psychological insecurity and language, euphemisms were not only used in the past, but also now they are still in common use. Although some of the chinese euphemisms are not used anymore nowadays, some of them are still used. There are a large number of chinese euphemisms in common use, but some special ones are used in particular fields only. This article focused on the linguistic taboos in some special fields like different regions, occupations and some others related with calamities, and tried to make a distinction from other previous studies. Language reflects culture and euphemism is a mirror of culture. The study of chinese linguistic taboos and euphemisms is expected to be some help to understand the chinese customs and linguistic features.

  • In order to establish a micropropagation system for buffalo gourd (Cucurbita foetidissima ) and common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), the effects of several plant growth regulators and culture temperature on shoot multiplication and rooting were investigated. In buffalo gourd, the greatest number of shoot from shoot tip culture and well growth of formed shoot were obtained on the MIS medium supplemented with 1.0 mg/L BA and 0.3 or 0.6 mg/L IAA. Whereas kinetin and 2iP were not effective for shoot multiplication in vitro. It was found that 22$^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$ were suitable for shoot multiplication. Roots were easily formed by the addition of auxins, especially 1.0 or 2.0 mg/L IBA and 2.0 mg/L IAA. Over 90% of plants survived successfully after being transferred into the field. In common milkweed, BA was more effective than kinetin or 2iP for its micropropagation in vitro. The increased shoot weight and number of nodes per shoot were obtained on the medium containing 3.0 mg/L BA and 0.3 or 0.6 mg/L IAA. But 2iP promoted the shoot elongation. In addition. common milkweed was sensitive to culture temperature in vitro. Temperature around 22$^{\circ}C$ was favorable for shoot multiplication and growth, whereas temperature higher than $25^{\circ}C$ usually reduced the rate of shoot survival rate.

  • To provide reference data or guideline for empirical treatment of bloodstream infection, we studied a change pattern in causative microorganisms and antimicrobial susceptibility in a general hospital at Gyeonggi province during five years. We retrospectively reviewed the frequency of causative microorganisms and antimicrobial susceptibility results of 5,782 microorganisms isolated from blood culture in a general hospital during the period from January 2008 to December 2012. The most common pathogens were Escherichia coli (14.7%), Staphylococcus aureus (7.5%), Streptococcus viridans group (4.9%), and Klebsiella pneumoniae (4.1%). The multiple microorganisms were isolated in 4.3% of bloodstream infection patients. The average contamination rate of blood culture during five years was 3.0%. Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE), and penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae were isolated at 62%, 27% and 11%, respectively. Cefotaxime-resistant E. coli and K. pneumoniae was 20% and 18%, respectively. Imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (IRPA) and Acinetobacter baumannii (IRAB) was 25% and 66%, respectively. E. coli and S. aureus were most common pathogens isolated from blood culture for five years. The increase of multidrug-resistant microorganisms, such as MRSA, VRE, ESBL, IRPA and IRAB, requires more strict control of antibiotics and causes the need of the more updated guideline for the treatment of blood stream infection.
