Green Frame is precast concrete column-beam structure. There are three types on column connection. The coupler type which is one of the three, need to be improved because of unstability caused by pre-installation of column before casting the slab, and quality deterioration caused by lack of workspace. Therefore, in this study, new coupler connection type with thread rebar is suggested. The result of this study shall be used for the efficiency analysis of the new coupler connection.
Progressive collapse is one of the factors which if not predicted at the time of structure plan; its occurrence will lead to catastrophic damages. Through having a glance over important structures chronicles in the world, we will notice that the reason of their collapse is a minor damage in structure caused by an accident like a terrorist attack, smashing a vehicle, fire, gas explosion, construction flaws and its expanding. Progressive collapse includes expanding rudimentary rupture from one part to another which leads to total collapse of a structure or a major part it. This study examines the progressive collapse of a 5-story concrete building with three column eliminating scenarios, including the removal of the corner, side and middle columns with the ABAQUS software. Then the beams and the bottom of the concrete slab were reinforced by (reinforcement of carbon fiber reinforced polymer) FRP and then the structure was re-analyzed. The results of the analysis show that the reinforcement of carbon fiber reinforced polymer sheets is one of the effective ways to rehabilitate and reduce the progressive collapse in concrete structures.

Floor location of adjacent buildings may be different in terms of height elevation, and thus, the slab may hit on the columns of adjacent insufficiently separated buildings during severe ground motions. Such impacts, often referred to as mid-column pounding, can be catastrophic. Substantial pounding damage or even total collapse of structures was often observed in large amount of adjacent low rise buildings. The research on the mid-column pounding between low rise buildings is in urgency need. In present study, the responses of two adjacent low rise buildings with unequal heights and different dynamic properties have been analyzed. Parametric studies have also been conducted to assess the influence of story height difference, gap distance and input direction of ground motion on the effect of structural pounding response. Another emphasis of this study is to analyze the near-fault effect, which is important for the structures located in the near-fault area. The analysis results show that collisions exhibit significant influence on the local shear force response of the column suffering impact. Because of asymmetric configuration of systems, the structural seismic behavior is distinct by varying the incident directions of the ground motions. Results also show that near-fault earthquakes induced ground motions can cause more significant effect on the pounding responses.
In this investigation, results of laboratory tests on four reinforced concrete flat plate interior connections with elongated rectangular column support which has been used widely in tall residential buildings are presented. The purpose of this study is to evaluate an effect of column aspect ratio (${\beta}_c={c_1}/{c_2}$=side length ratio of column section in the direction of lateral loading $(c_1)$ to the direction of perpendicular to $c_1$) on the hysteretic behavior under earthquake type loading. The aspect ratio of column section was taken as $0.5{\sim}3\;(c_1/c_2=1/2,\;1/1,\;2/1,\;3/1)$ and the column perimeter was held constant at 1200mm in order to achieve nominal vertical shear strength $(V_c)$ uniformly. Other design parameters such as flexural reinforcement ratio $(\rho)$ of the slab and concrete strength$(f_{ck})$ was kept constant as ${\rho}=1.0%$ and $f_{ck}=40MPa$, respectively. Gravity shear load $(V_g)$ was applied by 30 percent of nominal vertical shear strength $(0.3V_o)$ of the specimen. Experimental observations on punching failure pattern, peak lateral-load and story drift ratio at punching failure, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation in the hysteresis loop, and steel and concrete strain distributions near the column support were examined and discussed in accordance with different column aspect ratio. Eccentric shear stress model of ACI 318-05 was evaluated with experimental results. A fraction of transferring moment by shear and flexure in the design code was analyzed based on the test results.
The crude enzyme solution obtained by shaking culture of Aeromonas caviae No. S-76 isolated from soil as pullulanase producing bacterium was purified by 50 folds with 21% yield by salting out with ammonium sulfate and column chromatography using DEAE-Sephadex A-50 and Sephadex G-150. The purified pullulanase had a molecular weight of 118, 000 approximately by SDS-polyacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis and pI of 4.3 by isoelectric focusing. And optimum reaction temperature and pH for puHulanase were $50^{\circ}C$ and 8.0, respectively. The purified enzyme was relatively stable at pH 6.0~9.0 and below $45^{\circ}C$. This enzyme synthesized maltosyl-$\beta$-cyclodextrin from mixture of $\beta$-cyclodextrin and maltose.

Shear walls are structural members in buildings that are used extensively in reinforced concrete frame buildings, and almost exclusively in the UK, regardless of whether or not they are actually required. In recent years, the UK construction industry, led by the Concrete Centre, has questioned the need for such structural elements in low to mid-rise reinforced concrete frame buildings. In this context, a typical modern, 5-storey residential building is studied, and its existing shear walls are replaced with columns as used elsewhere in the building. The aim is to investigate the impact of several design variables, including concrete grade, column size, column shape and slab thickness, on the building's structural performance, considering two punching shear limits (VEd/VRd,c), lateral drift and accelerations, to evaluate its maximum possible height under wind actions without the inclusion of shear walls. To facilitate this study, a numerical model has been developed using the ETABS software. The results demonstrate that the building examined does not require shear walls in the design and has no lateral displacement or acceleration issues. In fact, with further analysis, it is shown that a similar building could be constructed up to 13 and 16 storeys high for 2 and 2.5 punching shear ratios (VEd/VRd,c), respectively, with adequate serviceability and strength, without the need for shear walls, albeit with thicker columns.

In this study, a prediction model for the effective compressive strength of corner columns with intervening normal strength concrete slabs was developed. A structural analogy between high-strength concrete column-normal strength concrete slab joint and brick masonry was used to develop the prediction model. In addition, the aspect ratio of slab thickness to column dimension was considered in the models. The reliability of the new prediction model was evaluated by comparison with experimental results and its superiority was demonstrated by comparison with previous models proposed by design codes and other researchers. As a result, with average test-to-predicted ratios of 1.09, a standard deviation of 0.15, the newly developed equation provided superior predictions in terms of accuracy and consistency over all of the existing effective strength prediction approaches including KCI structural concrete design code (2012).

We have, at present, found some studies on the optimum design of reinforced concrete about the simple slab but very few about the multi-story and multi-span slab. The aim of this study is to make a optimum design of coalesced beam and column slab constructure. Some results of the evaluation by using the optimalized algorithm that was developed in this study are as follows. 1. Slab was mainly restricted by the constraint of effective depth, bending moment, and minimum steel ratio; especially the effective depth was the preceding crifical constraint. In the optimum design of slab, therefore, the constraint about the minimum thickness should be surely considered. 2. This optimum design is good economy as much as some 3.4&~6.2% compared with the conventional design method. 3. In most case, it was converged by 3 to 6 iteratin regardless of the highest or lowest value and only in case of N=1 and case 1, there is a little oscillation after the 3rd iteration but it makes no difference in taking either the highest or lowest value because the range of oscillation is low as much as about 1.2% of the total construction cost. 4. In this study the result seeking for constraints that make no difference in the least cost design shows that shear stress and maximum steel ration may not be considered in it. 5. Bending moment was converged by one time iteration regardless of the initial value, while steel ratio, in most case, by two times because both bending moment and steel ratio are the fuction of effective depth.

When a R.C. slab is designed by the yield line theory, there is a possibility of local failure caused by an extreme moment distribution on the yield lines. To reduce the local failures the use of the formula in which the plastic resistence moment in the middle strips is different from that in the column strips was suggested. The formula also has a few other parameters for which the values have to be determined to design the R.C. slab. An attempt was made to determine the ideal values of all these parameters. This will make it easy and realistic to design the R.C. slab by the yield line method.

This study investigates the field application of surface insulation curing method, which combined double layer bubble sheet(DBS) and thick-curing-material(TCM) for cold weather concreting. According to the test, deck slab, curing only upper section with DBS and TCM, does not make big different temperature history with that, curing both upper and bottom section during daily average temperature 6.5t. It is concluded that combination of DBS and TCM in only upper section can be safely cured in early period of time during cold water concreting. The field test was carried out with this favourable data. The upper deck slab was insulated by combination of DBS and TCM, and the construction was surrounded by tent. in order to protect from outside wind. The test result shows that the lowest temperature of deck slab indicated 6$ ^{circ}C $. It demonstrated that this curing method can resist early frost and save construction cost in the side of management and saving labor cost, compared with previous method. In addition, the column specimen, combined both form and bubble board, exhibited favorable temperature history, due to internal hydration heat insulation effect.
