The electrochromism of $WO_3$ and $V_2O_5$ thin films have been studied. The $WO_3$ thin film is found to be cathodic coloration material and the coloration efficiency of this film is close to $60 [cm^2/C]$ in the near infrared region. The $V_2O_5$ thin film exhibits cathodic coloration in tile near infrared and anodic coloration in the blue and near UV region. The cathodic coloration in the $450{\sim}1100 nm$ wavelength range is relatively weak with a maximum coloration efficiency of $6 [cm^2/C]$).

A purpose of this study is to 6nd out how the casual and formal style clothes of stripe pattern giving variety by pattern direction, pattern width, and contrast coloration have an effect on image of wearers. For this, 192 stimuli were made and 1200 testee evaluated them using semantic differential scale. As a result, five image dimensions were drawn as a factor of attractiveness, gracefulness, activeness, visibility, and tenderness. Unlike the value contrast previously researched, it showed that chroma contrast coloration which was interacted with a color tone contrast coloration had an effect on all the 5 image dimensions. This result was recognized as significant clothes dues in evaluating the image of stripe wearers. Besides, clothing style, stripe pattern, and contrast coloration were made clear as an efficient parameter in image presentation of clothing wearers.

The study has been conducted in order to understand the inheritance of body color in the wild type zebrafish (zebra danio), Danio rerio, and its golden mutant (golden danio). The body color was also studied to determine the effect of golden coloration on the survival rate of zebrafish eggs and larvae up to 15 days after fertilization. Reciprocal monohybrid crosses between the wild and the golden type of zebrafish indicated that golden coloration was controlled by a single gene which had two alleles. Transmission of these alleles from parents to their progenies followed the principles of dominance and segregation based on Mendelian inheritance. Similar results from the reciprocal crosses implied that a locus for golden coloration was located on an autosomal chromosome. On the other hand, average survival rates from four different types of mating between, and within, zebra and golden danio suggested that golden coloration seemed to be associated with the survival rate of zebrafish, especially in its early embryonic stage. This indicated that homozygous recessive golden mutation was likely to weaken the golden danio's chance of survival.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the visual images of shirts according to coloration and the interval of checked patterns. The experimental stimulus and questionnaires for scaling response were developed for this study. The stimuli were 12 color pictures, in which the gender, coloration(WG: white+gray, WK: white+black, GK: gray+black), and interval(0.5 cm, 1.5 cm, 3.5 cm, 5.5 cm) were manipulated. The 7-point rating scale was used for evaluation of the visual image. Data were obtained from 144 male college students and 144 female college students living in Gyeonggi, Gyeongnam, Seoul, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan on December 2009. For data analysis, ANOVA and the Duncan-test were used by using the SPSS program. The results of this study were as follows; the visual images for shirts according to the coloration and interval of checked patterns consisted of four dimensions of attractiveness, appeal, youth, and modesty. Gender was the main factor when looking at attractiveness. Coloration had the main effect on appeal, youth, and modesty. Also, there was a significant interaction effect of gender and coloration on attractiveness, while there was a significant interaction effect of coloration and interval on modesty.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the clothing image according to coloration, tone, and interval of checked pattern in color contrast. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 24 color pictures, in which coloration(RB: Red+Blue, YP: Yellow+Purple), tone(light, dull, dark), and interval(0.5 cm, 1.5 cm, 3.5 cm, 5.5 cm) were manipulated. The 7-point scale was used for evaluation of clothing image. Data were obtained from 240 female college students living in Seoul, Gwangju, Jinju, and Masan on May 2010. For data analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test were used by using SPSS program. Results of this study were as follows.; Clothing image according to coloration, tone, and interval of checked pattern consisted of five dimensions of attractiveness, freshness, appeal, modesty, and activity. Coloration showed an independent effect on attractiveness and appeal. Tone showed an independent effect on freshness, appeal, and modesty. Interval showed an independent effect on freshness. Also, interaction effects of coloration and tone on appeal were found. Interaction effects of coloration and interval on modesty were found.

The purpose of this research was to compare the harmony of tone on tone coloration according to transformation of color area-ratio in traditional Korean dress. The respondents were asked to evaluate 36 stimuli of the traditional Korean skirt and jacket with different color tone. The subjects were 83 female undergraduate students. The results are as follows. For red colors, combinations of vivid/dull, vivid/dark, and light/dark made a difference in the harmony of coloration according to the transformation of color area-ratio. For yellow colors, combinations of vivid/dark, light/dull, and light/dark made a difference in the harmony of coloration according to the transformation of color area-ratio. For green colors, combinations of vivid/dull, vivid/dark, light/dull, and light/dark made a difference in the harmony of coloration according to the transformation of color area-ratio.

The purpose of this research is to compare, according to tone variation of a red jacket, the preference of female college students from Korea and the U.S. for coloration in the traditional Korean dress. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: As to a vivid skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, students of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of vivid red skirt and vivid. dark red jacket, and vivid orange skirt and dull red jacket, and vivid yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and vivid violet skirt and dull red jacket. As to the light skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of light red skirt and light red jacket, and light orange skirt and light red jacket. As to the dull skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of dull red skirt and vivid light dull dark red jacket, and dull yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and dull yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and dull green skirt and dull red jacket, and dull violet skirt and vivid light dull dark red jacket. As to the dark skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of dark red skirt and dull dark red jacket, and dark orange skirt and vivid light dull red jacket, and dark yellow skirt and dull red jacket. As to the neutral skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of white skirt and vivid red jacket, and dark gray skirt and light red jacket.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the harmony evaluation and the effects used clues on harmony perception in terms of 32 tone on tone coloration of male shirt and necktie by male and female students when it comes to the coloration of male clothes shirts and necktie, after shirts matched necktie with warm and cool color, such as red, blue, and changed only value among three attributes of color. The results are as fellows. As to the red, light-dull, dull-dark was evaluated as harmonized coloration regardless of area-ratio by both male and female students. As to the blue, vivid-dark, light-dark, dull-dark was evaluated as harmonized coloration regardless of area-ratio by both male and femate students. Among 16 red tone on tone coloration stimuli, both female and male students evaluated the same 10 set as harmonized, but among 16 blue tone on tone coloration stimuli, female students evaluated 9 set, male students 12 set, so proved that male's range of harmony more extensive than that of female. It is significant difference between female and male on red dull shirt and vivid tie, blue dull shirt and dull tie combination. Females were positive to red dull shirt and vivid tie combination, males were negative, on the other hand, males were positive to blue dull shirt and dull tie combination, females were negative.

Photopolymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA), in the presence of ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA) and 1-Hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone as crosslinker and photoinitiator, respectively, produced crosslinked poly-HEMA hydrogels. The hydrogels were colored by the exhaustion of vinylsul-phone-type reactive dyes. Good colorfastness to laundering was achieved when colored with C.I. Reactive Black 5. We investigated that the effect of coloration on the hydrophilicity and swelling properties of the films. More hydrophilic gel-surfaces were generated with in increase in coloration and crosslinking. Higher surface energy was observed with higher crosslinking level. The more rapid and higher water swellability of poly-HEMA gels after coloration may be resulted from a more opened gel structure by the easier hydration of the hydrophilic sulphonic acid groups of the reacted dyes in water.
